Opening Scene: The skies over Central America. Ace MacDougal’s biplane rattles, coughs, and wheezes like an asthmatic accordion. Negropolis sits stiffly in the back seat, gripping the edge of his chair as if sheer willpower alone can keep the plane aloft. Mason, however, is utterly delighted, playing peek-a-boo with Flippers, who’s perched in his lap wearing goggles.
Negropolis: (shouting over the engine noise) “MacDougal, are you sure this thing is airworthy?”
Ace MacDougal: (turning his head with a big grin) “Airworthy? She’s a beauty! Don’t let the noise fool ye—it’s just her way of purring.”
Negropolis: “Sounds more like she’s growling... in her death throes.”
Mason: (laughing) “Relax, Neg! You’re just jealous because you don’t have Flippers to distract you!”
Negropolis: (under his breath) “Wish I had something to distract me from this impending catastrophe.”
Scene: First stop—a remote farm field doubling as an airstrip. Ace hops out to refuel while Mason and Negropolis take a breather. The local farmer, an old man with a toothpick, ambles up to inspect the plane.
Farmer: (squinting at the biplane) “Looks like she’s held together with chewing gum and prayer.”
Negropolis: “Finally! Someone who understands.”
Mason: (grinning) “Oh, don’t mind him. He’s always this dramatic.”
Farmer: (looking at Flippers) “That a penguin?”
Mason: “Emotional support penguin. Helps me stay sane.”
Negropolis: “Oh, the irony.”
Scene: Back in the air. Mason attempts to engage Negropolis in conversation.
Mason: “Hey, Neg, if we crash, who do you think gets rescued first—me or Flippers?”
Negropolis: “Neither. The search party’s stopping at the farmer’s market for fresher produce.”
Suddenly, the plane jolts, and Ace yells from the cockpit.
Ace MacDougal: “Sorry, lads! Wee turbulence—she’ll settle.”
Negropolis: (muttering) “Turbulence? This feels like an airborne rodeo.”
Mason: (to Flippers) “Hold tight, buddy! This is what adventure feels like!”
Scene: Another stop, this time at a rustic outpost that also serves as a diner. The trio takes a break inside while the plane refuels. Flippers waddles across the diner floor, attracting amused stares.
Waitress: “Is that... a penguin?”
Mason: (proudly) “Yep. He’s a vital part of our team!”
Negropolis: “Vital? The only thing vital about him is the chaos he inspires.”
Flippers hops onto a booth seat and snags a french fry from Mason’s plate. Mason cheers. Negropolis facepalms.
Ace MacDougal: (between mouthfuls of pie) “Y’know, lads, this trip’s reminding me of the time I flew a goat to a wedding. That beast was less fussy than some passengers I’ve had!”
Negropolis: (deadpan) “Thank you for the inspirational tale, Ace.”
Scene: Finally, after two grueling days, they reach Northern Canada. Ace lands the plane on a snow-covered runway, and the trio disembarks. An icebreaker ship looms in the distance, waiting to take them further north.
Ace MacDougal: (beaming) “Well, that was a lovely wee jaunt! Shall we?”
Negropolis: (sarcastically) “Lovely? I’ll be reliving those pit stops in my nightmares.”
Mason: (hugging Flippers) “Stop complaining, Neg. This is the life!”
Scene: On the icebreaker ship. The vast Arctic waters stretch endlessly around them. Mason and Flippers are having a grand time exploring the deck, but Negropolis isn’t faring as well.
Negropolis: (green-faced, gripping the rail) “Why... does it feel... like the ocean hates me?”
Mason: “It’s not the ocean, Neg. It’s just your stomach saying, ‘Why are you like this?’”
Ace MacDougal: (appearing with a thermos) “Here, Neg! Hot cocoa. Put some hair on yer bones!”
Negropolis: (groaning) “I don’t have skin. What makes you think I have hair?”
As Negropolis battles his seasickness, Mason entertains Flippers by making snow angels on deck. Flippers, unimpressed, waddles away, leaving Mason flailing in the snow.
Scene: Finally, they reach a dock in the high Arctic. The ship’s crew helps unload their supplies, and the trio prepares to set off.
Ace MacDougal: (grinning) “Lads, I’ve made my decision—I’m coming with ye to the North Pole!”
Negropolis: (horrified) “Why am I not surprised?”
Mason: “Yes! This is gonna be epic. Just us, Flippers, and the open tundra!”
Negropolis: (muttering) “Someone wake me up when it’s over.”
The trio plus Ace load up their supplies onto dog sleds. The Arctic winds whip around them as they set off, heading toward the horizon and the North Pole beyond. Flippers rides comfortably in Mason’s lap, while Negropolis looks like he’s internally questioning all his life choices.
Cue: Fade to snow-covered landscapes and barking sled dogs as their adventure continues.
Come on guys, you can do it!
