May 30, 2025 - Fairbanks, Alaska
By Dave "The Brute" Kent, Ace Wrestling Reporter

Fairbanks, Alaska, welcomed NPCW with a frosty yet electric atmosphere, as fans packed the arena for another action-packed house show. From gripping rivalries to controversial finishes, the night promised to deliver thrills, drama, and unforgettable moments. With the opening bout setting the tone for an evening of high-stakes contests, the question remained: could the rest of the card deliver the decisive victories and clean storytelling that fans in the Great White North deserved?

Match 1: Lady Frost, Snow Queen (w/ Mad Hatter) vs. Scarlett Howl

The first match saw a budding rivalry between the Queens of Punishment’s LAdy Frost take on the Hunters Enclave’s Scarlett Howl.  A match marred by outside interference that robbed the fans of a possible classic.

Referee: Honest Abe (+0)

Scarlett Howl entered the match determined to assert her dominance, wasting no time with precise offense like the Vertical Suplex in the opening minute. Despite her early momentum, Mad Hatter’s presence at ringside began casting a shadow over the contest. Lady Frost absorbed punishment and briefly countered Scarlett’s offense, neutralizing a second suplex attempt in the second minute, but the Snow Queen struggled to mount any lasting offense.

By the third minute, Scarlett Howl delivered a crushing Basket Buster (Pedigree), cementing her control over the match. However, Mad Hatter—true to his chaotic nature—interfered, shoving referee Honest Abe and engaging in nonsensical antics that ultimately led to Lady Frost’s disqualification. Scarlett walked away with the victory, but the blatant interference left the Fairbanks crowd with mixed reactions.

Winner: Scarlett Howl (Disqualification due to Mad Hatter’s interference)

Kent’s Take: This match was shaping up to be an exciting clash of styles, but Mad Hatter’s interference robbed fans of a clean finish. Scarlett Howl showcased her impressive abilities and dominated much of the action, but Lady Frost never had the opportunity to recover or demonstrate her own strengths. NPCW’s overuse of managerial interference continues to hurt its storytelling—matches should end with decisive outcomes, not distractions. This opening bout was a disappointing start to the night.

Rating: 2.5/5

Match 2: Jack Frost (w/ Lilith) vs. Scarecrow

The frosty tension of Fairbanks intensified as Jack Frost, accompanied by the scheming Lilith, battled the enigmatic Scarecrow in an unpredictable contest that blended technical finesse and underhanded tactics. With Lilith pulling strings for Frost, this bout delivered hard-hitting action, resilience, and moments of controversy.

Referee: Honest Abe (+0)

Jack Frost entered with explosive offense, landing moves like the Arctic Blast (Punch) and repeatedly locking Scarecrow into submission holds such as the Winter’s Wrath (Crossface) and Frostbite Clutch (Cobra Clutch). However, Scarecrow countered with raw power, delivering impactful moves like the Field Spinner (Airplane Spin) and Brainbuster, turning the tide at crucial moments.

Lilith’s interference played a significant role, using tactics like spraying dark mist and distracting the referee to disrupt Scarecrow’s momentum and support Frost. Despite Frost’s spirited efforts to capitalize on her aid with moves like the Snowdrift Scissors (Head Scissors), Scarecrow’s relentless offense proved too much.

The closing moments saw Scarecrow deliver his devastating Haymaker Lariat, sealing the pinfall victory in the 19th minute. Frost fought valiantly, but even with Lilith’s constant intervention, the odds stacked against Scarecrow ultimately couldn’t prevail.

Winner: Scarecrow (Pinfall via Haymaker Lariat)

Kent’s Take: This match offered a compelling battle of styles, with Frost’s agility aided by Lilith’s antics against Scarecrow’s sheer power. However, the managerial interference once again overshadowed the wrestlers’ abilities. NPCW must rethink its overuse of outside help to allow for more clean finishes. Scarecrow’s victory was impressive, but the match left fans wishing for a contest with fewer distractions.

Rating: 3/5

Match 3: Crimson Viper, Queen of Hearts (w/ Mad Hatter) vs. Mother Earth

The action in Fairbanks, Alaska, hit a boiling point with Match 3, as the fiery Crimson Viper, Queen of Hearts, accompanied by the unpredictable Mad Hatter, clashed with the powerful and grounded Mother Earth. What followed was a closely contested battle of finesse versus strength, with both competitors trading heavy blows and dramatic offense.

Referee: Honest Abe (+0)

This bout began with Mother Earth taking the lead, delivering precise, hard-hitting moves like the Forearm Smash and the Air Raid Crash Over Knee Neckbreaker. Her methodical offense set the tone, as she sought to overpower Crimson Viper with her raw strength and technical execution. Viper, however, proved why she's a top contender, countering with her explosive moves, including the Release German Suplex and the impactful Sitout Powerbomb.

Mad Hatter’s presence at ringside added tension and unpredictability, as his antics loomed over the match, though his interference was relatively muted this time. Both wrestlers demonstrated incredible resilience, countering and trading control of the match at crucial moments. The heated contest built to its crescendo in the 19th minute, with Crimson Viper nailing her devastating Off With Their Heads Flying Clothesline, securing the pinfall victory over Mother Earth.

Winner: Crimson Viper, Queen of Hearts (Pinfall via Off With Their Heads Flying Clothesline)

Kent’s Take: This match delivered a satisfying blend of power, speed, and drama, as both competitors brought their best to the Fairbanks crowd. Crimson Viper’s victory showcased her ability to endure and counter Mother Earth’s strength, proving once again why she’s a force to be reckoned with. While Mad Hatter’s limited involvement was a welcome change, his looming presence remains a distraction. NPCW should strive to let these stars shine on their own merit, as this contest demonstrated just how good wrestling can be when the focus stays between the ropes.

Rating: 4/5

Match 4: Abaddon (w/ Lilith) vs. Lion

The frosty air in Fairbanks brought tension and anticipation to Match 4 of NPCW’s House Show, as the dark force of Abaddon, backed by the ever-menacing Lilith, collided with the underdog determination of Lion from Wizard's Warriors. With Fast Count Frank officiating, this contest showcased grit, resilience, and a surprising turn of events that sent shockwaves through the crowd.

Referee: Fast Count Frank (+1)

Abaddon began with dominating offense, landing moves like the Hellbreaker (Backbreaker) and Demonic Grip to assert control over the smaller, scrappier Lion. With Lilith providing strategic support at ringside, Abaddon seemed unstoppable, forcing Lion to fight from underneath for much of the contest. However, Lion displayed incredible heart, countering Abaddon’s power with precise, high-impact moves like the Lion’s Leap (Top Rope Splash) and Brainbuster, earning valuable points and igniting the crowd's support.

Despite suffering brutal punishment from Abaddon, Lion kept rallying with moves like the Courageous Claw to Face and Lion's Roar, slowly wearing down the demonic competitor. The climactic moment came in the 12th minute when Lion locked in the Full Nelson, forcing Abaddon to submit and earning a shocking victory over one of NPCW’s most intimidating forces.

Winner: Lion (Submission via Full Nelson)

Kent’s Take: Lion’s victory was a testament to resilience and determination, proving that even an underdog can overcome overwhelming odds with heart and strategy. Abaddon dominated much of the contest, but Lion’s ability to endure and counter ultimately stole the show. While Lilith’s presence added tension, NPCW wisely avoided excessive interference here, allowing the match to shine based on the competitors' skills. Lion’s upset victory was a highlight of the evening, demonstrating the unpredictable and dramatic nature of NPCW storytelling.

Rating: 4/5

Main Event: Alaskan Wildlands Match

Big Bad Wolf (w/ Wolf Pack) vs. Hansel

The Alaskan Wildlands Match provided the perfect setting for the night’s highly anticipated main event, pitting the Northern Lights Champion Big Bad Wolf of the Wolf Pack against Hansel of the Hunter’s Enclave in a non-title bout. With the untamed wild serving as inspiration, this clash became a gritty, hard-hitting contest that highlighted Hansel’s determination and resilience against Wolf’s dominant presence.

Referee: Honest Abe (+0)

From the start, this match was a high-stakes brawl. Hansel gained the upper hand in the first minute with an innovative move, Drown Foe in Icy River, stunning the Wolf and setting the tone for a chaotic and creative battle. However, the Wolf quickly countered with back-to-back Savage Spears, using his power to regain momentum. The Wolf Pack’s interference played a critical role, with distractions allowing Wolf to hit devastating moves like Choke on Ring Rope and Abdominal Stretch.

Hansel’s resilience shone through as he rallied with impactful moves like the Flying Forearm Smash and Atomic Kneedrop, demonstrating his ability to outwit and outlast his overpowering opponent. The final moments saw Hansel deliver a perfectly executed Belly-to-Belly Suplex, stunning the champion and securing the pinfall victory in the ninth minute.

Winner: Hansel (Pinfall via Belly-to-Belly Suplex)

Kent’s Take: This match was an excellent showcase of Hansel’s grit and determination, allowing him to shine even in the face of constant interference from the Wolf Pack. Big Bad Wolf brought his signature power and dominance, but Hansel’s ability to adapt and capitalize proved too much. NPCW excelled in crafting an engaging non-title main event with a clean and decisive finish, though the lingering interference from the Wolf Pack remained a point of frustration. This victory solidifies Hansel as a force to watch in the future.

Rating: 4/5

Overall Take

NPCW’s House Show 010, in Fairbanks, Alaska, delivered a frosty mix of highs and lows, with moments of brilliance offset by recurring issues that have plagued recent events. The talent on display was undeniable, with the roster delivering hard-hitting matches and captivating rivalries, but the night struggled to shake off the shadow of interference and an overreliance on chaotic storytelling.

Highlights of the Night:

  • Lion’s Stunning Upset: The underdog victory of Lion over Abaddon in Match 4 was undoubtedly the highlight of the night. Lion’s resilience against the odds, coupled with a decisive finish, electrified the crowd and demonstrated NPCW’s ability to craft memorable, feel-good moments.

  • Hansel’s Resilient Triumph: The main event saw Hansel topple the Northern Lights Champion, Big Bad Wolf, in a non-title match. The Alaskan Wildlands stipulation enhanced the drama, while Hansel’s victory solidified his rising status in NPCW.

  • Crimson Viper’s Showcase: Viper’s battle against Mother Earth in Match 3 provided a balance of technical mastery and narrative pacing, with both competitors delivering a satisfying contest.

Low Points:

  • Managerial Overreach: Lilith and Mad Hatter once again injected unnecessary chaos into multiple matches, including Match 2, where Lilith’s antics overshadowed Scarecrow’s victory. Interference continues to detract from the athletic storytelling fans crave.

  • Disappointing Open: The disqualification in Match 1 between Lady Frost and Scarlett Howl set a frustrating tone early, leaving fans yearning for cleaner resolutions to NPCW’s compelling rivalries.

Overall Rating: 3.5/5

House Show 010 delivered a memorable night of action, with standout performances and a few clean finishes allowing the talent to shine. However, to truly elevate its storytelling, NPCW must address its reliance on interference and embrace the potential of decisive outcomes. Fairbanks deserved the best, and though the night had its moments, there’s still room for growth.
