The Adventures of the Misfits of Mayhem – Episode 2: “Where is Flippers?”
Mason wants revenge.
But Lady Molly smells something colder than the Polar Bears… and twice as rotten.
Scene: The Misfits of Mayhem Hotel Suite – The Morning After Chill Factor
The room is a mixture of chaos and tension. Pizza boxes, open medical supplies, half-packed duffel bags. MADMAN MASON paces like a caged animal, clutching a photo of Flippers in his hand — the baby penguin wearing his tiny sunglasses and “Misfits” scarf. EDIE sits nearby, concerned and calm, while NEGROPOLIS stands in the corner, still, arms crossed, watching. ACE MACDOUGAL, patched up and wrapped in gauze, lounges on the couch with a bag of frozen peas taped to his forehead.
MASON (wildly)
We have to go now! The Polar Bears took Flippers—I know they did! He’s probably in some frozen cage eating fish heads in the basement of their den!
EDIE (gently, reaching for him)
Jack, honey… you don’t know that. Let’s not jump to conclusions—
MASON
He’s just a baby! He can’t defend himself! He chirps when he’s nervous, Edie—chirps! What if they shaved his flippers?! What if—
NEGROPOLIS (quietly, interrupting)
He was taken during our match. A distraction… timed. That is not the Bears’ style.
MASON (grabbing his coat)
I don’t care if it’s their “style” or not. I’m stormin’ that den, and if I find a feather out of place, I’m dropping them like a bag of snowballs.
EDIE
Jack, please. Just… think this through.
ACE (mumbling through a mouthful of bagel)
Well, I will say… if someone did take Flippers… maybe it was to mess with your heads. Get under your skin. Maybe… I dunno… to score a title shot?
Mason stops. Edie looks at Ace. Negropolis narrows his eyes.
NEGROPOLIS
Interesting idea… Who would benefit?
ACE (shrugs)
Anyone not already in line, right?
NEGROPOLIS (gaze fixed)
And yet the Bears… are. They’re getting their rematch in August, aren’t they?
ACE (nods slowly)
Yeah… yeah, I think so. They got the contract last night, didn’t they?
NEGROPOLIS (softly)
Last night. While we were in the ring. When did they sign it?
ACE (rubbing his head)
Uhh… pretty sure after your match. No—wait, maybe before? I dunno, things were spinning after that chair shot…
Negropolis says nothing. Just… watches. Observes. Processes.
MASON
Enough! We’re going. Now.
EDIE (sighs and stands)
Then I’m coming with you. Someone needs to keep a leash on your temper.
NEGROPOLIS (to Ace)
You’re staying here. If anything else... comes up. Tell us.
Ace nods, nervously. The trio exits.
Scene 2: The Bear Den – Later That Day
The Den is carved into an icy bunker, lined with animal pelts, cracked barbells, and old Soviet flags. POLAR BEAR #1 and POLAR BEAR #2 stand mid-lift when the doors SLAM open and MADMAN MASON barrels in like a howling blizzard.
MASON (furious)
Where. Is. FLIPPERS!?
POLAR BEAR #2 (snarling)
You storm our home like mad dog? Try it, Mason. I’ll snap you in two like stale candy cane!
They close in. EDIE puts herself between them, arms outstretched. NEGROPOLIS remains near the door, scanning everything.
POLAR BEAR #1
We didn’t take your snow chicken! We’ve got no reason to. We already got our rematch.
MASON (snorts)
And I’m just supposed to believe that?!
NEGROPOLIS (coldly)
When did you get the rematch contract?
POLAR BEAR #1
Last night. Same night as Chill Factor. Your guy… Ace MacDougal gave it to us himself. Sealed and stamped.
That hits like a quiet bomb. Mason glances at Negropolis. Edie’s eyes widen.
MASON (gritting teeth)
Ace… gave it to you?
POLAR BEAR #2 (arms crossed)
Da. So why take penguin? We get what we want. No point in hurting baby bird.
A door creaks open. All eyes turn.
VOICE (off-screen)
Because gentlemen… nothing about this case makes sense yet.
A figure steps inside. She is poised, elegant, wrapped in a tailored coat and dark gloves. A wide-brimmed hat casts a shadow over her eyes. She carries a small notebook, and in her stride is both authority and grace.

Lady Molly, Scotland Yard Inspector |
LADY MOLLY OF SCOTLAND YARD
Lady Molly of Scotland Yard. I’ve been assigned as lead investigator on this most… curious case.
She surveys the room with quiet intensity.
LADY MOLLY (to the Misfits)
The Polar Bears are telling the truth. They had no part in the abduction of your penguin.
MASON (confused)
Then who the heck did?!
LADY MOLLY
That… is what I intend to find out. But not here.
(She closes her notebook with a sharp click.)
LADY MOLLY
Let’s talk somewhere less… cold.
Fade out as Mason looks between Negropolis and Edie, his rage replaced by confusion, and Negropolis’s stare deepens—calculation beginning to sharpen.
