House Show Recaps — Week of July 20th to July 26th
By Oliver Grant
Opening
NPCW’s house-show week brought two repeat cards to Wales and Pittsburgh, but the two divisions produced very different kinds of momentum.
The Mythic Division offered several clear sweeps. Tin Man defeated Mars twice in long, physical matches. Morgana le Faye took two very different victories over Furiosa Ardilla, while Frankenstein’s Monster followed a three-minute submission with a more complete main-event win over Prince Charming. Lady Guinevere, Mother Earth and Sayaka Mizuhana also won both of their trios matches against the Queens of Despair, though the first result came by disqualification.
Cheshire Cat and Hiro Tanenaga remained harder to separate. Their first match reached the 30-minute time limit, and the rematch ended when Dark Hatter’s interference finally caused Cheshire Cat’s disqualification.
Pittsburgh produced one of the week’s most unusual repeat stories. Mirror Saints and the River Reapers wrestled for 45 minutes on both nights without producing a winner. Elsewhere, Ashen Vicar, Belsnickel and Big Bad Wolf completed two-night sweeps. The Grimm Sisters and Frostbound Command provided Pittsburgh’s only split, with Sigrun taking the first match before Glint Grimm answered in the rematch.

Featured Match Observation
Cheshire Cat vs Hiro Tanenaga
Cheshire Cat and Hiro Tanenaga gave the first Wales card its most sustained contest because neither wrestler was able to control the full 30 minutes.
Dark Hatter influenced the opening immediately, but Hiro did not remain trapped for long. Cheshire Cat worked through the Last Supper, Coffin Drop and repeated Rear Naked Chokes, while Hiro answered with Roundhouse Kicks, Scissored Armbars and the Millennium Crossface Chickenwing Suplex. Their exchanges rarely stayed in one direction for more than a few minutes.
Cheshire Cat had the greater number of late opportunities. He forced near falls in the 13th, 18th, 23rd and 26th minutes, using the Rear Naked Choke, interference from the Black Ledger and the Standing Diamond Dust to keep applying pressure. Hiro survived each attempt and continued answering with his submission base and aerial movement.
The 25th minute captured the match well. Cheshire Cat used a Suicide Dive while Hiro answered with a Corkscrew Moonsault. Both wrestlers were still reaching for something decisive instead of waiting for the time limit. Even after Dark Hatter shoved the referee during the closing stretch, Hiro remained in the match.
The final minute ended with Cheshire Cat landing the Standing Diamond Dust while Hiro struck back with a Snap Suplex. Neither had enough time to follow through.
What it showed: Cheshire Cat created more finishing chances, but Hiro’s ability to survive repeated pressure kept the result unresolved. The draw was not produced by inactivity. It came because neither wrestler could make his best stretch last long enough.

Featured Match Observation
Mars vs Tin Man
Tin Man’s second victory over Mars was the stronger match of their two-night series because it required him to survive several different phases.
Mars controlled much of the early portion. The Gutwrench Backbreaker, repeated Bearhugs and a run of Elbow Drops kept Tin Man defending, while Zeus created further openings through distraction. Tin Man still found enough offense to prevent Mars from settling completely, using the Belly-to-Belly Suplex, Knee Strikes and the Steely Resolve Lock.
The match changed after the 17th minute. Mars landed another Gutwrench Backbreaker, but Tin Man responded one minute later with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex and produced the first serious pin attempt. He followed with further attempts in the 22nd and 24th minutes after a Headbutt to the Midsection and Fireman’s Carry.
Mars still had one late answer. In the 25th minute, he reversed Tin Man’s Knee Strikes and landed a Powerbomb. That could have reset the closing stretch, but Tin Man recovered immediately. One minute later, he connected with another Belly-to-Belly Suplex and finally kept Mars down.
What it showed: Mars could control long sections through strength and repetition, but Tin Man kept improving his position as the match moved forward. His late pin attempts were not isolated chances. They formed a steady progression toward the finish.

Featured Match Observation
Mirror Saints vs River Reapers
Mirror Saints and the River Reapers worked the full 45 minutes without producing a winner, but the match had enough movement to avoid becoming one long holding pattern.
Vael Thorne and Sorin Savax used frequent tags and sustained double-team sequences. Vael brought the Silent Sever, Exploder Suplex, Bicycle Knee and Owari Death Clutch, while Sorin worked through Palm Strikes, Olympic Slam, Crown of Ashes and the Viscera Clutch. Elyra Moane also created openings through distractions and ambushes.
The River Reapers answered through quick rotation. Huck Finn used the Uranage, Cut Throat Driver, Rolling Death Valley Driver and Fisherman Buster. Tom Sawyer added the Death Valley Driver, Three Quarter Nelson Suplex, Briscoe Crab and Crucible Falcon Arrow. Their best stretches came whenever they turned Mirror Saints’ double-team pressure into open traffic involving all four wrestlers.
The match began to escalate after Sorin’s Crown of Ashes in the 22nd minute. Sorin could not complete the pin, and Huck and Tom continued making saves for one another. Sorin was hurt around the 30th minute, allowing the River Reapers to press forward, but Mirror Saints survived that stretch and regained enough control to create further chances.
The closing minutes belonged to neither team. Huck nearly pinned Vael after a Sitout Powerbomb in the 41st minute. Sorin answered with the Viscera Clutch, and both teams continued trading power moves and double-team offense until all four entered the ring in the final minute.
What it showed: Mirror Saints had the heavier control sequences, while the River Reapers were better at surviving and resetting. Over 45 minutes, neither advantage proved decisive.

Featured Match Observation
Grimm Sisters vs Frostbound Command
The Grimm Sisters made the clearest second-night adjustment in Pittsburgh.
Their first match had ended in only 11 minutes when Sigrun trapped Shade Grimm in the High Angle Camel Clutch. The rematch lasted more than twice as long because Glint and Shade used their tags more carefully and prevented Frostbound Command from reaching another sudden finish.
Glint Grimm established the early pace with the Specter Snap, Veil Breaker, Phantom Fall and Death’s Whisper. Shade added the Step-Up Enzuigiri, Curb Stomp, Spear and Release German Suplex. Their repeated double-team attempts did not always succeed, but they forced Lady Frost and Sigrun to defend instead of building uninterrupted control.
Frostbound Command remained dangerous. Lady Frost used the Wheelbarrow Facebuster, Swinging Neckbreaker, Knife-Edge Chops and Backpack Stunner. Sigrun brought the Samoan Drop, Short-Arm Clothesline and several power-based counters. Their best sequence came in the 19th minute, when Sigrun’s clothesline and Lady Frost’s Backpack Stunner combined against Shade.
Shade survived and responded with several pin attempts against Sigrun. She could not complete the finish, but the pressure allowed Glint to return. In the 23rd minute, Glint reversed Sigrun’s Leg Drop and connected with the Moonlit Crossing to secure the pin.
What it showed: Frostbound Command had the faster route to victory on the first night. The Grimm Sisters won the rematch by extending the match, increasing their rotation and refusing to let one failed finishing attempt end their pressure.
Closing
Wales belonged largely to the wrestlers who could repeat a result, though the quality of those repeats varied.
Lady Guinevere, Mother Earth and Sayaka Mizuhana defeated the Queens of Despair twice. The first match ended when the Huntsman’s interference caused a disqualification. The rematch gave the winning team a more substantial finish, with Mother Earth surviving the Thorn Spike and later pinning Rosalyn after the Surfboard. The second result did more to establish the trio’s advantage.
Cheshire Cat and Hiro Tanenaga left Wales without a clean decision between them. Their first match reached the 30-minute limit after several near falls for Cheshire Cat. The rematch ended in the 13th minute when Dark Hatter shoved the referee. Hiro received the victory, but the two-night series still did not settle which wrestler could finish the other.
Tin Man had the strongest Mythic singles sweep. He wrestled Mars for a combined 56 minutes and won both matches with the Belly-to-Belly Suplex. Mars used Bearhugs, power offense and Zeus’s assistance to control long stretches, but Tin Man kept finding the later opening. The second match gave that pattern its clearest form.
Morgana le Faye also swept Furiosa Ardilla. The first match was the more complete performance, lasting 19 minutes and ending after the Side Russian Legsweep and Octopus Hold. The rematch lasted only nine minutes before Furiosa was counted out following the Mystic Mist. Morgana earned both results, but the first match showed more of what the pairing could produce.
Frankenstein’s Monster defeated Prince Charming twice in opposite kinds of matches. The first lasted only three minutes and ended when Prince Charming submitted to the Clamp. The rematch lasted 19 minutes, allowing Charming to work through the Tornado DDT, Shooting Star Leg Drop, Senton and Death From Above. Frankenstein’s Monster still won after the Flat Liner, making the second result more informative than the first.
Pittsburgh’s most important question remained unanswered.
Mirror Saints and the River Reapers wrestled for 90 total minutes across two nights without producing a winner. Both matches contained frequent tags, double-team exchanges, saves and late finishing attempts. Mirror Saints created longer periods of control, but the River Reapers repeatedly survived them. A third meeting would not need more time. It would need one team to manage the final exchange better.
Ashen Vicar completed the strongest Polar singles sweep from an execution standpoint. He forced Jasper Fang to submit to the Ashes of the Oath on the first night, then pinned him with the White Flame Purge in the rematch. Jasper remained competitive through the Wolf’s Pounce, Overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex and Bloodfang Bomb, but Ashen Vicar finished both matches in different ways.
The Grimm Sisters and Frostbound Command produced Pittsburgh’s only split. Sigrun ended the first match quickly with the High Angle Camel Clutch. The Grimm Sisters answered in a longer rematch, with Glint pinning Sigrun after the Moonlit Crossing. Each team left with a result that reflected its best strength: Frostbound Command’s sudden power and the Grimm Sisters’ sustained rotation.
Belsnickel swept Frosty, first by submission and then by pinfall. The eight-minute first match ended when Frosty submitted to the Claw. The rematch lasted 20 minutes and allowed both wrestlers to use more of their offense. Frosty survived the Claw, reversed one pin and continued attacking with the Blizzard Buster and Frostbite Suplex, but Belsnickel eventually finished him after the Elbow off the Turnbuckle.
Big Bad Wolf also defeated Bigfoot twice. The Wolf Pack influenced both matches, particularly the second-night finish when Bigfoot’s legs were held during the pin. Big Bad Wolf still maintained steady pressure through the Lycan Lock, Savage Spear and Power Slam, but the outside involvement leaves more uncertainty around the sweep than the record alone suggests.
By the end of the week, Tin Man, Frankenstein’s Monster, Ashen Vicar and Belsnickel had established the clearest two-night momentum. The Grimm Sisters and Frostbound Command left with a useful split, while Mirror Saints and the River Reapers left Pittsburgh with unfinished business after two full time-limit draws.
House shows don’t crown champions—but they do reveal who’s ready.
