0. SHOW RUNDOWN 1. OPENING AND WELCOMING 2. SANTA ADDRESSES THE CROWD 3. MATCH 1 4. MATCH 2 5. THE LESSON 6. MATCH 3 7. MATCH 4 “Class Is Not Dismissed” 8. THE INFERNAL THRONE 9. MATCH 5 10. MAIN EVENT 11. CLOSING
The opening follows the locked Polar Power production and commentary structure, with Elias Coldmere formally welcoming the audience before handing the broadcast to Johnny Michaels and Eddie Ellington.
The screen is black.
A low metallic rumble begins beneath the silence.
A thin line of blue-white light appears across the center of the screen. It widens slowly, revealing a frozen landscape beneath a midnight sky. Snow sweeps across jagged mountain peaks as the aurora burns overhead in streaks of emerald, violet, and silver.
The voice of Johnny Michaels rises over the images.
Johnny Michaels: “There are nights when the cold tests your strength.”
The image changes to Crimson Viper and Valka standing across the ring from one another, both exhausted, both refusing to retreat.
Johnny Michaels: “Nights when victory is not given.”
The screen flashes through the first two matches of the Aurora Championship Tournament Finals. Crimson Viper claiming the opening victory. Valka answering in the second contest. The series tied. One final match remaining.
Johnny Michaels: “It has to be earned.”
Heavy drums strike.
Monster Bash’s Enforcers raise the Universal Tag Team Championship belts as Ultimate Beasts stand together beneath the arena lights, their eyes fixed on the champions.
The music rises.
Ghost of Christmas Past appears beneath cold silver light, the Universal Championship resting across his shoulder. The image cuts sharply to Frosty, standing in the center of the ring with his fists clenched and determination burning through the exhaustion of recent weeks.
Johnny Michaels: “Championships will be defended.”
The screen fills with rapid images of Mr. Mason, Negropolis, Brakk Bloodmaw, and Veyrik Nightclaw.
A photograph of Edie Hartwell Mason appears briefly before being consumed by deep red light.
Johnny Michaels: “A family will fight to bring one of its own home.”
The sound of chains dragging across stone cuts through the music.
Fire erupts across the screen.
Krampus stands inside the burning structure known as the Rings of Hell. Across from him, Infernus Rex raises his head as flames climb behind him.
Johnny Michaels: “And two demons will enter a battlefield built to contain their fury.”
The image suddenly becomes still.
A broad figure stands alone against a frozen horizon.
Grondar the Revenant slowly raises his head.
The North Pole Championship appears over the image before the screen cuts to Santa Claus, standing beneath the Polar Division banner with the championship around his waist.
Johnny Michaels: “But when the night is over, only one man will stand as champion of the North.”
The music stops.
A heartbeat sounds.
The frozen landscape fractures.
The screen explodes into blue, white, and crimson light as the official event logo fills the broadcast.
NPCW POLAR MELTDOWN 2026
LIVE FROM SCROOGE’S GLACIER PLEX
Pyrotechnics erupt from the entrance stage.
Blue and silver fountains fire high into the air while bursts of white flame race along the length of the entrance ramp. Artificial snow pours from the rafters as thousands of fans rise inside Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
The arena has been transformed into a frozen coliseum.
Towering ice formations frame the entrance stage. The Polar Division emblem hangs above the video wall, illuminated beneath sweeping blue spotlights. Long ribbons of silver light move across the crowd while signs rise from every section of the building.

SANTA STANDS
The camera circles the arena before settling on the ring.
Celeste Orion stands at its center in a silver and midnight-blue formal gown. She holds the microphone with both hands as the crowd continues roaring around her.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, NPCW welcomes you live to Scrooge’s Glacier Plex for the Polar Division’s greatest night of the summer.”
The crowd swells.
Celeste Orion: “This is NPCW POLAR MELTDOWN 2026.”
Another wave of pyrotechnics erupts above the stage.
The music shifts into the official Polar Division theme.
Elias Coldmere steps through the entrance curtain.
The General Manager wears a dark navy suit beneath a long white winter coat. He pauses at the top of the ramp, taking in the packed arena before walking toward the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “There is the man responsible for overseeing the Polar Division, General Manager Elias Coldmere.”
Eddie Ellington: “He looks calm now, but he has six matches, four championships, a tournament final, a rescue mission, a burning cage, and Grondar the Revenant waiting for him. I would have stayed in the office.”
Johnny Michaels: “This is the biggest night of the Polar Division calendar, and Elias Coldmere has promised that every championship match will be decided through competition.”
Eddie Ellington: “That sounds admirable until somebody you like loses.”
Elias Coldmere enters the ring and accepts the microphone from Celeste Orion.
Elias Coldmere: “Welcome to Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.”
The crowd cheers.
Elias Coldmere: “Welcome to the night when the strongest competitors in the Polar Division face the greatest pressure of their careers.”
Elias Coldmere turns slowly, addressing every side of the arena.
Elias Coldmere: “Welcome to NPCW Polar Meltdown.”
The crowd erupts again.
Elias Coldmere: “Before we begin tonight’s competition, there is a result from last night that must be formally recognized.”
A photograph appears on the video wall.
Crimson Vane stands with the Queen of the North Championship raised above her head.
Elias Coldmere: “On July 25, Crimson Vane defeated Lilith and became the new Queen of the North Champion.”
The arena responds with a thunderous ovation.
Elias Coldmere: “That victory was not granted through prophecy, intimidation, or reputation. Crimson Vane entered the ring, endured everything placed in front of her, and earned the championship.”
The crowd begins chanting.
CRIMSON VANE! CRIMSON VANE! CRIMSON VANE!
Elias Coldmere: “Neither Crimson Vane nor the former champion Lilith is scheduled to compete tonight. Lilith is not present at Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.”
The image fades from the screen.
Elias Coldmere: “Abaddon is also not here tonight. He is representing NPCW in HCW, where he will defend the Convergent Championship.”
A mixed reaction moves through the arena.
Elias Coldmere: “The Polar Division may not approve of Abaddon’s methods, his alliances, or the damage he has caused. But the Convergent Championship carries responsibilities beyond any single division. Tonight, he will be expected to defend it.”
Elias Coldmere looks toward the entrance stage.
Elias Coldmere: “Here at Polar Meltdown, our responsibilities are equally clear.”
Images of the evening’s competitors begin appearing across the video wall.
Elias Coldmere: “Crimson Viper and Valka will settle the Aurora Championship Tournament Finals in their third and decisive match.”
The two finalists appear side by side.
Elias Coldmere: “Monster Bash’s Enforcers will defend the Universal Tag Team Championship against Ultimate Beasts.”
The champions and challengers replace them.
Elias Coldmere: “Ghost of Christmas Past will defend the Universal Championship against Frosty.”
The crowd cheers loudly for Frosty.
Elias Coldmere: “Mr. Mason and Negropolis will face Crimson Maulers in a match carrying consequences far beyond victory or defeat.”
The image of Edie Hartwell Mason returns to the screen.
Elias Coldmere: “If Mr. Mason and Negropolis win, Edie Hartwell Mason must be released.”
The crowd begins chanting.
SAVE EDIE! SAVE EDIE! SAVE EDIE!
Elias Coldmere: “The agreement has been signed. The terms have been witnessed. There will be no retreat from the result.”
The screen fills with fire.
Elias Coldmere: “Krampus and Infernus Rex will meet inside the Rings of Hell in a Hellfire Match.”
The reaction becomes louder and more divided.
Elias Coldmere: “The structure has been inspected. Emergency personnel are in position. Once both competitors enter, the match will continue until a winner is declared.”
The fire vanishes.
The North Pole Championship fills the screen.
Elias Coldmere: “And in tonight’s main event, Santa Claus will defend the North Pole Championship against Grondar the Revenant.”
A deep roar moves through the arena.
Elias Coldmere: “Last night, the Polar Division came closer than ever to losing control beneath the combined force of Grondar the Revenant, Magnus Blackwell, the Frost Giants, Infernus Rex, and Abaddon.”
Images of the attack from Polar Power appear across the video wall.
Elias Coldmere: “But the North did not surrender.”
The screen shows Santa Claus, Krampus, Van Helsing, Jack Frost, and Marax fighting back.
Elias Coldmere: “Tonight, there will be no army standing between the champion and the challenger.”
Elias Coldmere lowers his voice.
Elias Coldmere: “There will be no place for either man to hide.”
The North Pole Championship returns to the screen.
Elias Coldmere: “There will be one ring, one championship, and one final answer.”
The crowd rises again.
Elias Coldmere: “The North has endured invasion. It has endured betrayal. It has endured darkness from within and pressure from every direction.”
Elias Coldmere looks directly into the primary camera.
Elias Coldmere: “Tonight, we discover who can endure Polar Meltdown.”
The Polar Division theme strikes.
Elias Coldmere hands the microphone back to Celeste Orion and exits the ring as the audience applauds.
The broadcast camera moves to the commentary desk.
Johnny Michaels sits upright in a dark blue suit with a silver Polar Division tie. Beside him, Eddie Ellington wears a crimson jacket, black shirt, and an expression suggesting that he has already found several reasons to object to the evening.
Johnny Michaels: “Thank you, Elias Coldmere. Ladies and gentlemen, I am Johnny Michaels, joined as always by Eddie Ellington, and we are live for NPCW Polar Meltdown 2026.”
Eddie Ellington: “I noticed Elias Coldmere spent a great deal of time praising Crimson Vane, but very little time discussing the tragedy that occurred last night.”
Johnny Michaels: “The tragedy?”
Eddie Ellington: “Lilith lost the Queen of the North Championship. A respected champion was subjected to an uncontrolled environment and robbed of her rightful position.”
Johnny Michaels: “It was a No Disqualification Match, and Crimson Vane defeated Lilith under the agreed rules.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is the sort of technical explanation people use when they do not want to admit I am right.”
Johnny Michaels: “Crimson Vane is the new Queen of the North Champion, and she earned that distinction through one of the most demanding victories of her career.”
Eddie Ellington: “Enjoy the celebration while it lasts. Lilith does not strike me as someone who accepts disappointment with quiet reflection.”
Johnny Michaels: “Neither Lilith nor Abaddon is here tonight. Abaddon is in HCW defending the Convergent Championship, but the influence of their allies will still be felt before this night is over.”
Eddie Ellington: “Of course it will. Infernus Rex is walking into a ring surrounded by fire, and somehow everyone thinks Krampus is the dangerous one.”
Johnny Michaels: “We also have four championship matches, the decisive match of the Aurora Championship Tournament Finals, and the Save Edie Match.”
Eddie Ellington: “I admire Mr. Mason’s confidence. I question his judgment, his strategy, his partner, his odds, and nearly every decision that brought him here.”
Johnny Michaels: “He is fighting for his family.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is exactly why he is not thinking clearly.”
Johnny Michaels: “Later tonight, Santa Claus defends the North Pole Championship against Grondar the Revenant in a No Disqualification Match with no time limit.”
Eddie Ellington: “Santa Claus may be brave. He may be honorable. He may even be the heart of the Polar Division. None of those things make him larger than Grondar the Revenant.”
Johnny Michaels: “The champion has faced impossible odds before.”
Eddie Ellington: “Eventually impossible odds remember they are supposed to be impossible.”
Johnny Michaels: “Every match tonight carries consequences for the future of the Polar Division. Championships will change careers. Rivalries will reach their breaking point. A family may finally be reunited.”
The camera sweeps across the roaring crowd.
Johnny Michaels: “The arena is full. The competitors are ready. The North is watching.”
Eddie Ellington: “And I have already located the nearest emergency exit.”
Johnny Michaels: “NPCW Polar Meltdown begins now.”
The next segment is Santa Claus’s opening promo.
The broadcast cuts backstage to the Polar Meltdown interview area.
The familiar blue-white Polar Division backdrop has been framed with silver garland, glowing snowflakes, and strands of deep blue Christmas lights. Artificial snow covers the edge of the set while the Polar Meltdown logo shines across a frozen video wall behind the interview position.
Smooth Samantha Satin stands beneath the cold overhead lighting in a sheer festive blue dress decorated with subtle silver detailing. She holds a Polar Power microphone in one hand, composed and professional despite the tension surrounding tonight’s main event.
Standing beside her is the reigning North Pole Champion, Santa Claus.
The North Pole Championship rests across Santa Claus’s left shoulder. He wears his traditional red entrance coat, trimmed in white fur, but there is little celebration in his expression. His eyes remain fixed forward, and one hand stays firmly wrapped around the championship belt.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time is the North Pole Champion, Santa Claus.”
A loud cheer rises from inside Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Santa, less than twenty-four hours ago, Grondar the Revenant, the Frost Giants, Infernus Rex, and Abaddon attempted to overwhelm you and your allies inside the Polar Power ring.”
Footage from the previous night appears briefly on the screen behind them.
Grondar the Revenant stands among the Frost Giants as Infernus Rex and Abaddon join the assault. The image changes to show Jack Frost and Marax rushing into the ring, helping Santa Claus, Krampus, and Van Helsing fight back until security finally separates both sides.
The footage ends.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Tonight, there will be no security intervention and no time limit. You will defend the North Pole Championship against Grondar the Revenant in a No Disqualification Match.”
Smooth Samantha Satin turns slightly toward the champion.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “After everything that happened last night, how do you prepare for a challenger who has made it clear that he does not simply want your championship? He wants to break everything the championship represents.”
Santa Claus looks down at the North Pole Championship for a moment before raising his eyes toward the camera.
Santa Claus: “You prepare by remembering why you carry it.”
Santa Claus removes the championship from his shoulder and holds it in both hands.
Santa Claus: “This title has never represented the strongest man standing alone.”
He looks at the engraved faceplate.
Santa Claus: “It represents every person who stood together when the storm came. It represents every competitor who stepped into that ring and refused to surrender because the opponent was larger, crueler, or more powerful.”
Santa Claus returns the championship to his shoulder.
Santa Claus: “Grondar the Revenant believes strength is measured by how many people fear you.”
His expression hardens.
Santa Claus: “I believe strength is measured by how many people can depend on you when fear arrives.”
The crowd watching from inside the arena cheers.
Santa Claus: “Last night, Grondar brought the Frost Giants. He stood beside Magnus Blackwell. He welcomed Infernus Rex and Abaddon into the fight because he believed enough darkness could force the North to kneel.”
Santa Claus shakes his head.
Santa Claus: “The North did not kneel.”
A chant begins inside Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES!
Santa Claus listens to the chant for several seconds.
Santa Claus: “Tonight, there will be no Frost Giants standing around the ring. There will be no army for either of us to command. There will be no time limit to rescue one of us from exhaustion.”
Santa Claus looks directly into the camera.
Santa Claus: “There will only be Grondar the Revenant, Santa Claus, and the North Pole Championship.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “The No Disqualification stipulation would appear to favor Grondar. He has spent weeks demonstrating that he is willing to use anything available to cause damage.”
Santa Claus: “Then he should use everything.”
Smooth Samantha Satin pauses at the force of the answer.
Santa Claus: “Let Grondar bring every weapon he can lift. Let him tear apart the barricade. Let him carry the fight through the crowd, across the stage, or into the cold outside this building.”
Santa Claus steps closer to the camera.
Santa Claus: “Wherever he takes this fight, I will follow him.”
His hand closes around the championship strap.
Santa Claus: “And wherever this match ends, I will make certain he understands that the North Pole Championship cannot be taken by intimidation.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “There are people who believe this match may be too dangerous, even for you.”
A faint smile appears beneath Santa Claus’s beard.
Santa Claus: “Courage does not mean believing you cannot be hurt.”
The smile fades.
Santa Claus: “Courage means knowing exactly what can happen and standing your ground anyway.”
Santa Claus turns slightly, looking beyond the interview set toward the arena.
Santa Claus: “I know what Grondar can do. I felt his strength last night. I saw what happened when he and his allies surrounded the ring.”
He looks back toward Smooth Samantha Satin.
Santa Claus: “But Grondar felt something too.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “What was that?”
Santa Claus: “Resistance.”
The audience responds with another cheer.
Santa Claus: “He felt Van Helsing refuse to stay down. He felt Jack Frost and Marax charge into a fight that was not theirs because they knew it was the right thing to do.”
Santa Claus pauses before continuing.
Santa Claus: “And he felt Krampus stand beside me.”
The mood around the interview area becomes more serious.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Later tonight, Krampus will face Infernus Rex in the Rings of Hell.”
Santa Claus: “I know.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “You have stood beside Krampus throughout his conflict with Infernus Rex, even when others questioned whether that alliance could survive. Are you concerned about what may happen when they enter that structure?”
Santa Claus takes a long breath.
Santa Claus: “I am concerned because I know what Infernus Rex is.”
He looks directly into the camera again.
Santa Claus: “Infernus Rex does not come to NPCW seeking competition. He comes seeking submission. He does not want respect. He wants obedience. He does not want to defeat opponents. He wants to convince them that resistance is useless.”
The champion’s voice remains calm, but each word carries greater weight.
Santa Claus: “He has surrounded himself with those who believe cruelty is power. He has encouraged Lilith, Abaddon, and others to treat every act of destruction as proof that darkness cannot be challenged.”
Santa Claus slowly shakes his head.
Santa Claus: “He is wrong.”
The crowd cheers again.
Santa Claus: “Last night, Crimson Vane defeated Lilith and became the Queen of the North Champion.”
The mention of the new champion receives another loud ovation.
Santa Claus: “She did not win because the darkness showed mercy. She won because she refused to be ruled by it.”
Santa Claus places his free hand over the North Pole Championship.
Santa Claus: “That is what Infernus Rex does not understand.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “And what is that?”
Santa Claus: “Darkness can enter NPCW.”
His eyes narrow.
Santa Claus: “It can threaten us. It can injure us. It can divide friends and tempt good people into making terrible choices.”
Santa Claus steps forward until he fills most of the camera frame.
Santa Claus: “But it does not own this place.”
The crowd roars.
Santa Claus: “As long as I can stand, I will stand against it.”
He lifts the North Pole Championship from his shoulder and raises it beside his head.
Santa Claus: “Whether it comes wearing a crown of fire like Infernus Rex, marching behind giants like Grondar the Revenant, or whispering promises to those who have forgotten who they are, I will meet it.”
Santa Claus lowers the title slightly.
Santa Claus: “Not because I believe I must fight every battle alone.”
He glances toward the arena.
Santa Claus: “But because someone must be the first person to step forward.”
A chant begins again.
SANTA! SANTA! SANTA!
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Tonight, that first step places you directly in front of Grondar the Revenant.”
Santa Claus: “Yes, it does.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “What do you want Grondar to understand before the two of you meet in tonight’s main event?”
Santa Claus turns fully toward the camera.
Santa Claus: “Grondar, you have spent weeks telling everyone that the North belongs to the strongest.”
He lifts the North Pole Championship again.
Santa Claus: “Tonight, you will learn that strength is not the same as ownership.”
His voice grows firmer.
Santa Claus: “You can strike me with anything you find. You can throw me into steel. You can bury me beneath broken tables and shattered ice.”
Santa Claus brings the championship against his chest.
Santa Claus: “But if you want this title, you must do what no darkness, no demon, and no giant has managed to do.”
He stares unflinchingly into the camera.
Santa Claus: “You must convince the North to stop believing.”
A sustained roar echoes through Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
Santa Claus: “And Grondar, that will never happen.”
Santa Claus places the North Pole Championship back over his shoulder.
Santa Claus: “Tonight, the North endures.”
Santa Claus gives Smooth Samantha Satin a respectful nod before walking out of the interview area.
The camera remains on Smooth Samantha Satin as the crowd continues chanting from inside the arena.
THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES!
Smooth Samantha Satin: “A determined message from the North Pole Champion. Later tonight, Santa Claus defends that championship against Grondar the Revenant in a No Disqualification Match with no time limit.”
The broadcast returns to the commentary desk.
Johnny Michaels: “Santa Claus understands the danger awaiting him, but there was no hesitation in anything we just heard.”
Eddie Ellington: “There should have been hesitation. Hesitation is the mind’s way of reminding you that fighting an enormous revenant without rules is a terrible idea.”
Johnny Michaels: “The North Pole Champion has never measured his responsibilities by how safe they are.”
Eddie Ellington: “That sounds wonderful on a greeting card. It sounds much less sensible when Grondar is swinging part of the ring at your head.”
Johnny Michaels: “Santa Claus also delivered a clear warning to Infernus Rex. Whatever happens inside the Rings of Hell tonight, the Polar Division will continue resisting the forces gathering around him.”
Eddie Ellington: “Very noble. Of course, Santa Claus has his own giant problem to survive before he starts volunteering for another war.”
Johnny Michaels: “The North Pole Championship will be decided in tonight’s main event. Right now, however, it is time to determine the winner of the Aurora Championship Tournament.”
Eddie Ellington: “One victory each. No excuses left. Let the better woman win.”
Johnny Michaels: “Crimson Viper and Valka meet for the third and decisive time, and that match is next.”
The camera returns to the interior of Scrooge’s Glacier Plex as the lights sweep across the capacity crowd.
The Aurora Championship Tournament bracket fills the video wall.
Crimson Viper defeated Valka in the opening match of the final series.
Valka answered with a victory in Match Two.
The series stands tied at one victory apiece.
Tonight, there must be a winner.
Johnny Michaels: “The Aurora Championship Tournament began with the finest competitors from across the Polar Division. It has now come down to one final match between two women who know exactly what the other can withstand.”
Eddie Ellington: “They may know each other, but only one of them understands how to carry herself like a champion. Crimson Viper has poise, intelligence, technical skill, and the invaluable guidance of Dark Hatter.”
Johnny Michaels: “You mean the repeated interference of Dark Hatter.”
Eddie Ellington: “Guidance takes many forms.”
The arena lights fade.
Red playing cards begin falling across the video wall. Each card turns slowly until the Queen of Hearts appears, her painted face transforming into the cold stare of Crimson Viper.
A regal orchestral theme begins beneath a heavy, deliberate drumbeat.
Dark Hatter steps through the curtain first.
He wears a long black coat decorated with crimson stitching and carries his crooked hat beneath one arm. He looks across the audience with theatrical contempt before turning back toward the entrance.
Crimson Viper emerges through a curtain of red light.
She wears crimson and black wrestling gear detailed with gold trim. A flowing entrance cape hangs from her shoulders, and a jeweled crown rests above her dark hair. Her expression is controlled and imperious as she surveys the arena.
Dark Hatter moves beside her, speaking into her ear while pointing toward the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “Crimson Viper won the opening match of this championship series, but Valka proved in their second meeting that she could survive Crimson Viper’s submission attacks and overpower her when the pace became physical.”
Eddie Ellington: “That second match was an unfortunate interruption in an otherwise perfect coronation. Tonight, order will be restored.”
Johnny Michaels: “Crimson Viper is technically gifted, but the presence of Dark Hatter has influenced more than one of her victories.”
Eddie Ellington: “A great competitor surrounds herself with great strategic minds. Nobody complains when a football coach calls a play.”
Johnny Michaels: “Football coaches do not climb onto the field and distract the opposing team.”
Eddie Ellington: “Perhaps they should.”
Crimson Viper reaches ringside and removes her crown without taking her eyes from the ring. She hands it to Dark Hatter, then climbs the steps and enters through the ropes.
She moves to the center of the ring, extends both arms, and slowly turns as red spotlights form the shape of a heart around her.
Dark Hatter takes his place at ringside and applauds.
The red lighting disappears.
A deep horn echoes through Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
The video wall shows a snow-covered mountain rising beneath a storm. Lightning illuminates the silhouette of a warrior standing at its summit.
Heavy drums begin.
Valka steps through the entrance curtain beneath white and steel-blue light.
She wears dark Nordic-inspired wrestling armor over her ring gear. Fur-lined shoulder pieces frame her powerful build, while silver markings run across her arms and face. Her eyes remain fixed on Crimson Viper as she begins walking toward the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “Valka entered this tournament determined to prove that she could become more than a feared warrior. She wanted to become a champion through discipline, endurance, and victory.”
Eddie Ellington: “She certainly has endurance. Subtlety is another matter. Valka approaches every obstacle as though it can be solved by throwing it into a mountain.”
Johnny Michaels: “That approach brought her back from a one-match deficit and forced this deciding contest.”
Eddie Ellington: “And now she has to defeat Crimson Viper again. Lightning rarely strikes twice, even when you dress like it.”
Valka reaches ringside and stops directly in front of Dark Hatter.
Dark Hatter smiles and raises the crooked hat in greeting.
Valka steps closer.
The smile disappears from Dark Hatter’s face as he quickly moves aside.
Johnny Michaels: “Valka is making it clear that she will be watching Dark Hatter tonight.”
Eddie Ellington: “That was intimidation. Honest Abe should warn her immediately.”
Johnny Michaels: “He moved out of her way. She never touched him.”
Eddie Ellington: “Emotional intimidation is still intimidation.”
Valka climbs onto the apron and steps over the top rope.
She walks directly toward Crimson Viper, who refuses to surrender the center of the ring.
The two finalists stand face-to-face until referee Honest Abe moves between them.
Celeste Orion enters the center of the ring as the tournament graphic shines above the entrance stage.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is the third and deciding match of the Aurora Championship Tournament Finals.”
The crowd cheers.
Celeste Orion: “The championship series is tied at one victory apiece. The winner of this match will win the series and the Aurora Championship Tournament.”
Celeste Orion turns toward the red corner.
Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Dark Hatter, representing the Court of Hearts, she is the self-proclaimed Queen of Hearts, Crimson Viper.”
Crimson Viper raises one hand while Dark Hatter bows deeply at ringside.
The crowd responds with loud jeers.
Eddie Ellington: “Self-proclaimed only because the proper coronation has been delayed until tonight.”
Celeste Orion turns toward the opposite corner.
Celeste Orion: “Her opponent, the warrior of the frozen mountain, Valka.”
Valka raises both fists as the crowd erupts.
Johnny Michaels: “One final match. One final opportunity. The Aurora Championship Tournament will be decided right now.”
Celeste Orion exits the ring.
Honest Abe checks both competitors before signaling to the timekeeper.
The bell rings.
Minute 1
Crimson Viper immediately attacks the left arm of Valka, twisting it behind her back and forcing the larger competitor down onto one knee. Valka rolls forward to release the pressure, but Crimson Viper follows her to the canvas and threads one leg around Valka’s ankle.
Crimson Viper traps both the arm and leg, pulling Valka into the Regal Reign.
Honest Abe drops beside them and asks for a submission.
Valka refuses.
She drags herself toward the ropes, but Crimson Viper shifts her weight and tries to pull her back toward the center. Valka suddenly rolls through the pressure, rises behind Crimson Viper, and wraps one arm beneath her chin.
Valka drops backward and traps Crimson Viper in the Dragon Sleeper.
Crimson Viper kicks her legs and twists her body until she reaches the bottom rope. Honest Abe orders the break, and both competitors release their holds almost simultaneously.
Johnny Michaels: “Both finalists went directly toward their preferred style. Crimson Viper attacked the limbs with the Regal Reign, but Valka answered with the Dragon Sleeper and nearly turned the opening exchange against her.”
Eddie Ellington: “Nearly does not matter. Crimson Viper reached the rope because she knew exactly where she was in the ring. That is championship awareness.”
Minute 2
Crimson Viper circles cautiously and reaches for another wristlock.
Valka knocks her hands aside and drives a knee into her midsection. She pulls Crimson Viper across her body, lifts her high, and drops her back-first across an extended knee with a Pendulum Backbreaker.
Crimson Viper falls to the canvas clutching her lower back.
Valka follows with a lateral press.
Honest Abe counts one before Crimson Viper lifts a shoulder.
Valka pulls her upright and drives another forearm into the lower back, forcing Crimson Viper toward the ropes.
Johnny Michaels: “Valka has identified the back as her first target. That Pendulum Backbreaker took away the leverage Crimson Viper needs for many of her submission holds.”
Eddie Ellington: “Or it made Crimson Viper angry. Valka should remember that queens have long memories.”
Minute 3
Valka attempts to control the next lockup, but Crimson Viper slips beneath her arms and drives a sharp kick into her abdomen.
Crimson Viper forces Valka’s head between her legs, hooks both arms around her waist, and powers the larger competitor into the air.
She drops Valka with a Sitout Powerbomb.
Honest Abe moves into position, but Valka powers out before the count reaches two.
Crimson Viper rises quickly and charges.
Valka catches her across the torso, turns, and drives her down with a Sidewalk Slam.
Both competitors remain on the canvas for several seconds after the violent exchange.
Johnny Michaels: “They traded tremendous impact. Crimson Viper found the strength for that Sitout Powerbomb, and Valka answered immediately with the Sidewalk Slam.”
Eddie Ellington: “That powerbomb should silence anyone who believes Crimson Viper is only a technical wrestler. She can defeat Valka at any style Valka chooses.”
Minute 4
Crimson Viper reaches her feet first and catches Valka with a forearm.
She hooks Valka’s head and attempts the first of her Successive Snap Suplexes.
Valka widens her stance and blocks the lift.
Crimson Viper tries again.
Valka drives her weight forward, breaks the grip, and shoves Crimson Viper hard into the turnbuckles.
When Crimson Viper rebounds, Valka catches her with a shoulder block that sends her back to the canvas.
Johnny Michaels: “Valka neutralized the suplex sequence before Crimson Viper could establish momentum.”
Eddie Ellington: “She planted her feet and refused to move. That is not technique. That is what furniture does.”
Johnny Michaels: “It was effective.”
Eddie Ellington: “So is furniture.”
Minute 5
Valka follows Crimson Viper into the corner and drives a shoulder into her abdomen.
She pulls Crimson Viper away from the turnbuckles, lifts her across one shoulder, and swings her down over the knee with a second Pendulum Backbreaker.
Crimson Viper’s body folds across the impact before she rolls to the canvas.
Valka presses both hands against Crimson Viper’s shoulders.
Honest Abe counts one.
He reaches two before Crimson Viper escapes.
At ringside, Dark Hatter strikes the apron and calls for Crimson Viper to create distance.
Johnny Michaels: “A second Pendulum Backbreaker, and the damage to Crimson Viper’s back is accumulating.”
Eddie Ellington: “Valka has one idea and keeps repeating it. A lesser strategist might call that predictable.”
Johnny Michaels: “A successful move does not become less successful because it is used twice.”
Eddie Ellington: “Spoken like a man who has never appreciated variety.”
Minute 6
Valka pulls Crimson Viper to her feet and positions her for a Piledriver.
Crimson Viper braces her legs and blocks the lift.
She forces herself upright and breaks free before running toward the ropes.
Crimson Viper rebounds and launches herself forward for Off With Their Heads, but Valka ducks beneath the flying clothesline.
Valka turns and reaches for another Piledriver, but Crimson Viper drops to one knee and twists out of her grip.
Both competitors separate and rise with their guards raised.
The crowd applauds the stalemate.
Johnny Michaels: “Both women went for major offense, but neither could complete it. Valka wanted the Piledriver, while Crimson Viper attempted Off With Their Heads.”
Eddie Ellington: “Valka ducked because she knew that clothesline would have ended the match. That was survival, not superiority.”
Minute 7
Crimson Viper catches Valka with a boot to the ribs and hooks her head.
This time she completes the first snap suplex.
She rolls through while maintaining the grip and delivers a second.
Crimson Viper attempts the third, but Valka shifts her weight during the lift and lands behind her.
Valka immediately wraps one arm beneath Crimson Viper’s chin and pulls her backward into the Dragon Sleeper.
Crimson Viper reaches upward and claws at the grip.
She drives two knees into Valka’s head until the hold loosens, then falls forward to the canvas.
Johnny Michaels: “Crimson Viper connected with two of the Successive Snap Suplexes, but Valka interrupted the sequence and secured the Dragon Sleeper.”
Eddie Ellington: “And Crimson Viper escaped through intelligence and precision. She did not panic. She found the opening and exploited it.”
Minute 8
Valka charges toward Crimson Viper in the corner and turns her body for the Running Corner Hip Attack.
At the final moment, Crimson Viper catches the top rope and pulls herself aside.
Valka crashes hip-first into the turnbuckles.
Crimson Viper attacks immediately.
She hooks Valka’s head and delivers a snap suplex.
She rolls through and delivers a second.
The third Successive Snap Suplex sends Valka across the ring.
Crimson Viper bridges into a cover.
Honest Abe counts one.
He reaches two before Valka drives a shoulder from the canvas.
Johnny Michaels: “Excellent reversal by Crimson Viper. She avoided the corner attack and finally completed the entire suplex sequence.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is why she deserves the championship. Valka ran forward with all the grace of a falling tree, and Crimson Viper turned one mistake into three suplexes.”
Minute 9
Crimson Viper drags Valka away from the ropes and attacks the left leg with repeated stomps.
She collects both ankles, steps between them, and turns Valka onto her stomach.
Crimson Viper sits deeply into the Sharpshooter.
Valka pushes both hands against the canvas and tries to lift her upper body.
Honest Abe asks whether she submits.
Valka shakes her head and begins pulling herself toward the ropes.
Crimson Viper leans farther back, increasing the pressure across Valka’s lower spine and knees.
Valka continues crawling until she finally wraps one hand around the bottom rope.
Honest Abe orders the hold released.
Crimson Viper maintains the pressure until the fourth count before stepping away.
Johnny Michaels: “Valka survives the Sharpshooter, but she had to carry Crimson Viper’s full weight across the ring to reach that rope.”
Eddie Ellington: “That was merciful restraint by Crimson Viper. She had until five and released at four.”
Johnny Michaels: “That is not mercy.”
Eddie Ellington: “It is one full second of mercy.”
Minute 10
Crimson Viper pulls the injured Valka away from the ropes and drives a knee into her stomach.
She forces Valka into position and lifts her again.
Crimson Viper drops into a second Sitout Powerbomb and folds Valka’s shoulders against the canvas.
Honest Abe counts one.
He reaches two.
Valka thrusts both legs forward and breaks the cover.
Crimson Viper stares at Honest Abe before holding two fingers inches from his face.
Honest Abe answers by showing two fingers of his own.
Johnny Michaels: “Another Sitout Powerbomb, but Valka survives. The damage to her leg and lower back made that kickout much more difficult.”
Eddie Ellington: “Honest Abe’s hand was descending for three. I saw it.”
Johnny Michaels: “It stopped at two because Valka escaped.”
Eddie Ellington: “Your unwavering loyalty to observable reality is exhausting.”
Minute 11
Valka uses the ropes to pull herself upright.
Crimson Viper strikes her from behind and locks both arms around her waist.
Valka tries to hold the top rope, but Crimson Viper tears her away and launches her backward with a Release German Suplex.
Valka lands across her shoulders and rolls onto her stomach.
Crimson Viper covers her from the side.
Honest Abe counts one.
Valka kicks out shortly after two.
Crimson Viper immediately traps the damaged leg beneath her arm and twists the knee before Valka can reach the ropes.
Johnny Michaels: “Crimson Viper has controlled the last several minutes. The Release German Suplex drove Valka onto the same lower back that was already compromised by the Sharpshooter.”
Eddie Ellington: “This is a masterclass. Crimson Viper is not merely attacking. Every move is preparing Valka for the next one.”
Minute 12
Crimson Viper brings Valka upright and attempts another German suplex.
Valka throws an elbow behind her and breaks the waistlock.
She turns to attack, but her damaged leg buckles beneath her.
Crimson Viper moves behind Valka, hooks her around the waist, and drives her down with a Belly to Back Suplex.
Valka lands hard and rolls toward the corner.
Crimson Viper places one boot against Valka’s shoulder and looks toward Dark Hatter.
Dark Hatter applauds and raises the crown above his head.
Johnny Michaels: “The pace is beginning to belong completely to Crimson Viper. Valka remains dangerous, but the accumulated punishment is affecting her base.”
Eddie Ellington: “We are witnessing the inevitable. Valka had her victory in the second match. Tonight belongs to the Queen of Hearts.”
Minute 13
Valka catches Crimson Viper approaching the corner and drives a forearm into her jaw.
She forces herself upright and lifts Crimson Viper across her body.
At ringside, Dark Hatter climbs onto the apron and removes his hat.
He gestures toward the lighting platform.
Several arena lights suddenly go dark before flashing bright red.
Valka looks toward Dark Hatter for a fraction of a second.
Despite the distraction, Valka completes the motion and drives Crimson Viper across her knee with another Pendulum Backbreaker.
Honest Abe turns and orders Dark Hatter down from the apron.
Dark Hatter bows and steps back to the floor.
Valka rises slowly, but the interruption has cost her the opportunity to make an immediate cover.
Johnny Michaels: “Valka landed the backbreaker, but Dark Hatter deliberately stole her focus and prevented her from capitalizing.”
Eddie Ellington: “He adjusted the lighting. Scrooge’s Glacier Plex should thank him for identifying an electrical problem.”
Johnny Michaels: “The lights changed the moment he signaled.”
Eddie Ellington: “A remarkable coincidence.”
Minute 14
Valka turns from Dark Hatter and reaches for Crimson Viper.
Crimson Viper suddenly explodes from the canvas and moves behind her.
She locks her arms around Valka’s waist.
Valka reaches for the ropes, but her injured leg cannot hold her position.
Crimson Viper pulls her backward and launches her across the ring with another Release German Suplex.
Valka lands high across her shoulders.
Crimson Viper hooks both legs.
Honest Abe counts one.
He reaches two.
Valka barely lifts one shoulder.
Crimson Viper sits beside her and stares toward Honest Abe in disbelief.
Johnny Michaels: “The distraction created the opening, and Crimson Viper nearly ended the tournament with that Release German Suplex.”
Eddie Ellington: “The distraction did nothing. Valka hit her move. Crimson Viper simply recovered faster because she is the superior competitor.”
Johnny Michaels: “Valka lost valuable time arguing with Dark Hatter.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then she should stop allowing fashionable men to upset her.”
Minute 15
Valka struggles to her knees.
Crimson Viper stands behind her and watches carefully.
Valka rises and swings a desperate forearm.
Crimson Viper ducks beneath it, hooks one arm around Valka’s head, and spins through with a Swinging Neckbreaker.
Valka’s head and shoulders strike the canvas.
Crimson Viper turns immediately and hooks the far leg.
Honest Abe drops into position. One … Two … THREE!. The bell rings.
Crimson Viper releases the leg and rolls onto her knees.
For one moment, she remains still as the meaning of the count settles across her face.
Then she raises both arms.
Dark Hatter enters the ring carrying the jeweled crown.
Johnny Michaels: “Crimson Viper has done it. After three matches and a series that tested every part of both competitors, the deciding fall belongs to the Queen of Hearts.”
Eddie Ellington: “Just as I predicted. Skill, patience, strategy, and proper royal bearing have prevailed.”
Johnny Michaels: “Valka fought through submission holds, powerbombs, suplexes, and interference from Dark Hatter, but the Swinging Neckbreaker finally ended the match.”
Eddie Ellington: “You cannot keep blaming Dark Hatter whenever Crimson Viper succeeds. At some point, you must accept greatness when it is standing directly in front of you.”
Celeste Orion steps into the ring as Dark Hatter places the crown upon Crimson Viper’s head.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winner of the match, winner of the final series by two victories to one, and winner of the Aurora Championship Tournament, Crimson Viper.”
The crowd responds with a mixture of boos and applause for the performance.
Crimson Viper stands over Valka and raises both arms.
Dark Hatter bows before her, then turns toward the audience and gestures for everyone to do the same.
Valka sits against the bottom turnbuckle, visibly exhausted. She looks across the ring at Crimson Viper, then toward Dark Hatter.
Crimson Viper notices the stare.
She adjusts her crown and raises one hand toward Valka, displaying two fingers to represent the final series score.
Valka pulls herself upright.
The two finalists stand across from one another.
After several tense seconds, Valka gives one restrained nod toward Crimson Viper, recognizing the official result without acknowledging Dark Hatter.
Crimson Viper responds with a smug smile.
Johnny Michaels: “There is no friendship between these women, but Valka recognizes what this series required. She pushed Crimson Viper to a third match and forced her to earn the deciding fall.”
Eddie Ellington: “That nod was the first sensible decision Valka made all evening. She is acknowledging her queen.”
Johnny Michaels: “She is acknowledging the result.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is how it begins.”
Valka steps through the ropes and walks toward the entrance ramp as the audience applauds her effort.
Inside the ring, Crimson Viper climbs onto the middle turnbuckle. Dark Hatter stands beneath her, presenting the winner to Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
Johnny Michaels: “The Aurora Championship Tournament belongs to Crimson Viper. Her victory establishes her as one of the leading competitors in the Polar Division.”
Eddie Ellington: “Not one of the leading competitors. The leading competitor. Everyone else has merely been granted permission to share the division with her.”
Johnny Michaels: “The Queen of Hearts has won the tournament, but after the role Dark Hatter played in the final minutes, questions about his influence will continue.”
Eddie Ellington: “The only question remaining is where the coronation celebration will be held and whether I am seated near the royal table.”
JOHNNY MICHAELS: “Whatever comes next, the record will show that Crimson Viper defeated Valka in the decisive third match and emerged as the winner of the Aurora Championship Tournament.”
CRIMSON VIPER DEFEATS VALKA VIA PINFALL AT THE 15:00 MINUTE MARK.
The camera returns to the commentary desk as the Aurora Championship Tournament graphics disappear from the screens around Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
Ring attendants finish tightening the ropes and clear the last traces of red confetti left behind by Crimson Viper’s victory.
The Universal Tag Team Championship belts appear on the video wall.
Images flash across the screen of Kong and Ogre overwhelming previous challengers beneath the direction of Dr. Frankenstein. The footage shifts to Karnyx and Varak, charging through opponents while Marcus the Beastmaster commands them from ringside.
Johnny Michaels: “Our next match brings the Universal Tag Team Championship to the Polar Division. Monster Bash Enforcers have built their reign through overwhelming strength, but they may have finally encountered challengers capable of matching them physically.”
Eddie Ellington: “Matching them physically is not enough. Kong and Ogre have the experience of Dr. Frankenstein, one of the most brilliant minds ever to assemble a championship team.”
Johnny Michaels: “Assemble may be the appropriate word.”
Eddie Ellington: “You say that as though it is criticism. Most promoters would give anything for a team constructed as perfectly as Monster Bash Enforcers.”
Johnny Michaels: “The champions will have their hands full with Ultimate Beasts. Karnyx and Varak have earned this opportunity through aggression, power, and an increasingly effective partnership under Marcus the Beastmaster.”
Eddie Ellington: “They are dangerous, but they are still animals following commands. The champions have a doctor.”
A deep animalistic roar rolls through the arena.
The entrance stage darkens beneath shades of green and bronze. Heavy drums begin as images of claw marks tear across the video wall.
Marcus the Beastmaster steps through the curtain carrying a long staff wrapped in dark leather. He strikes the base of the staff against the stage, producing another echoing roar.
Karnyx and Varak emerge behind him.
Both challengers move with focused aggression, their attention already fixed on the ring. Karnyx pounds one fist against his chest while Varak rolls his shoulders and stares toward the championship belts displayed above the stage.
Marcus the Beastmaster walks between them and points toward the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “There is no hesitation from the challengers. Ultimate Beasts have waited for this opportunity, and Marcus the Beastmaster has promised that they will not be intimidated by the size or reputation of the champions.”
Eddie Ellington: “They should be intimidated. Fear is useful. Fear reminds you not to stand in front of Kong when he starts throwing people.”
Johnny Michaels: “Karnyx and Varak are hardly unfamiliar with throwing people themselves.”
Eddie Ellington: “They are impressive. I simply question whether they have the discipline required to win a championship match.”
Marcus the Beastmaster leads the challengers down the ramp.
Karnyx reaches ringside first and pulls himself onto the apron. Varak climbs the steps on the opposite side. They enter together and move to the center of the ring.
Marcus the Beastmaster raises his staff.
Karnyx and Varak lift their arms as another roar sounds through Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
The lights suddenly cut out.
A slow electrical pulse begins.
Blue-white flashes illuminate the entrance stage as mechanical diagrams, anatomical sketches, and jagged bolts of electricity fill the video wall.
The sound of heavy chains follows.
Dr. Frankenstein steps onto the stage wearing a dark formal coat and heavy gloves. He carries the Universal Tag Team Championship belts, one draped over each arm.
He looks toward the ring and smiles.
Two enormous silhouettes appear behind him.
Kong steps into the light first, beating both fists against his chest.
Ogre emerges beside him, lowering his head and releasing a roar toward the challengers.
Dr. Frankenstein lifts both championships as the arena fills with a mixture of cheers and jeers.
Johnny Michaels: “The reigning Universal Tag Team Champions have arrived. Kong and Ogre are among the most physically imposing teams in all of NPCW.”
Eddie Ellington: “Imposing is an understatement. Look at them. Ultimate Beasts may have spent all week convincing themselves they are ready, but confidence changes when the champions are walking directly toward you.”
Johnny Michaels: “The champions have also benefited repeatedly from the involvement of Dr. Frankenstein.”
Eddie Ellington: “He is their manager. Providing assistance is part of the job.”
Johnny Michaels: “Distracting referees is not part of the job.”
Eddie Ellington: “That depends on the quality of the manager.”
Dr. Frankenstein walks slowly down the ramp while Kong and Ogre follow on either side of him.
Inside the ring, Karnyx and Varak remain in place.
Marcus the Beastmaster motions for his team to hold their ground.
The champions reach ringside.
Dr. Frankenstein hands the title belts to Honest Abe, then steps away as Kong and Ogre climb onto the apron.
All four competitors stare across the ring.
Honest Abe moves between the teams and orders the champions to enter through separate sides.
Kong and Ogre step through the ropes.
The crowd rises as the four massive competitors move toward one another.
Honest Abe forces himself between them while Marcus the Beastmaster and Dr. Frankenstein shout instructions from opposite sides of the ring.
Celeste Orion steps into the center once order has been restored.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the NPCW Universal Tag Team Championship.”
The crowd cheers.
Celeste Orion turns toward the challengers.
Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Marcus the Beastmaster, the team of Karnyx and Varak, the Ultimate Beasts.”
Karnyx and Varak raise their fists while Marcus the Beastmaster strikes his staff against the floor.
Celeste Orion turns toward the opposite corner.
Celeste Orion: “Their opponents, accompanied to the ring by Dr. Frankenstein, they are the reigning and defending NPCW Universal Tag Team Champions, Kong and Ogre, the Monster Bash Enforcers.”
Dr. Frankenstein raises both championship belts behind his team.
Kong pounds his chest while Ogre throws both arms outward.
Johnny Michaels: “The championships are on the line. Power will meet power, and whichever team manages the exchanges more effectively will leave Scrooge’s Glacier Plex with the gold.”
Eddie Ellington: “That favors the champions. Dr. Frankenstein has already calculated every possible outcome.”
Celeste Orion leaves the ring.
Honest Abe displays both championships to the competitors before handing them to the timekeeper.
Kong steps forward for the champions.
Karnyx enters for the challengers.
The bell rings.
Minute 1
Kong and Karnyx collide in the center of the ring with neither man giving ground.
Karnyx attempts to drive Kong backward with a shoulder, but Kong catches his left leg and twists sharply.
Kong drops the captured leg across his knee with a Kneebuster.
Karnyx stumbles toward the ropes, but Kong follows and drives another short kick into the damaged knee.
Karnyx swings a forearm to create space before retreating toward his corner.
Kong allows him to leave and tags Ogre.
At the same time, Karnyx reaches Varak.
Both teams change competitors.
Johnny Michaels: “Kong immediately attacked the leg of Karnyx. That was a disciplined opening from a competitor usually associated with direct power.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is the influence of Dr. Frankenstein. He sees every weakness before the rest of us know one exists.”
Minute 2
Ogre enters and charges directly toward Varak.
Varak avoids the first swing and catches Ogre around the head.
He twists through and drives the champion down with a Neckbreaker.
Ogre rolls onto one shoulder and rises quickly, but Varak strikes him with two forearms before forcing him toward the challengers’ corner.
Ogre answers with a heavy shove that sends Varak backward.
The champion uses the separation to return to his corner and tags Kong.
Johnny Michaels: “Sharp execution by Varak. He used Ogre’s forward momentum to complete that Neckbreaker.”
Eddie Ellington: “And Ogre stood up almost immediately. Varak may have landed the move, but he also learned how little it affected the champion.”
Minute 3
Kong enters and drives a boot into Varak’s midsection.
The force folds Varak forward.
Kong reaches for a front facelock, but Varak spins beneath his arm and catches him by the head.
Varak drops Kong with another Neckbreaker.
Kong rolls toward the ropes while Varak reaches his corner and tags Karnyx.
Karnyx steps through the ropes and immediately begins stalking the champion.
Johnny Michaels: “Both men connected in that exchange, but Varak once again used the Neckbreaker to prevent the champions from establishing control.”
Eddie Ellington: “The challengers are relying on speed. That works until Kong catches one of them cleanly.”
Minute 4
Kong and Karnyx circle cautiously.
Each man reaches for control, but both break away before either can complete a hold.
Karnyx suddenly drives a knee into Kong’s body and knocks him toward the canvas.
He runs to the ropes, rebounds, and launches his full weight across the champion with the Ground Zero Splash.
The ring shakes beneath the impact.
Karnyx hooks one leg.
Honest Abe reaches two before Kong throws a shoulder from the canvas.
Karnyx rises and tags Varak back into the match.
Johnny Michaels: “The Ground Zero Splash nearly produced the first major opportunity of the match. Karnyx placed his full weight across the chest of Kong.”
Eddie Ellington: “And Kong still removed him before three. The challengers have learned that ordinary offense will not be enough.”
Minute 5
Varak enters while Karnyx remains inside the ring.
The challengers pull Kong upright before Honest Abe’s count reaches five.
Karnyx drives a Wild Haymaker into Kong’s jaw.
The blow turns the champion directly toward Varak, who climbs onto the middle rope and launches himself with the Apex Descent.
The top-rope shoulder clothesline drives Kong to the canvas.
Karnyx moves toward the apron, but Kong rises and swings one massive arm across his chest.
The Sledgehammer to the Chest catches Varak before the challenger can retreat.
All three men stagger from the exchange.
Honest Abe orders Karnyx out of the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “Excellent double-team execution from Ultimate Beasts, but Kong survived and answered with that crushing strike to Varak’s chest.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is the danger of remaining near Kong for too long. One blow can erase an entire sequence of offense.”
Minute 6
Varak reaches for Kong and attempts to lift him into the Wrecking Crane.
Kong lowers his center of gravity and blocks the motion.
Varak tries again, but Kong drives both elbows into his shoulders and forces him to release the hold.
The champion shoves Varak toward the challengers’ corner before backing toward his own.
Kong tags Ogre.
Varak responds by tagging Karnyx.
Ogre and Karnyx enter together.
Johnny Michaels: “Kong neutralized the Wrecking Crane before Varak could complete the lift. The champions are beginning to anticipate the challengers’ power offense.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is what experience provides. Ultimate Beasts are showing everything they have, and Dr. Frankenstein is recording every detail.”
Minute 7
Karnyx drives a forearm into Ogre’s back and attempts to lift him across one knee for a Crushing Backbreaker.
Ogre hooks one arm around Karnyx’s head and blocks the lift.
He drives repeated clubbing blows into Karnyx’s spine until the challenger releases him.
Ogre then shoves Karnyx toward the ropes.
Karnyx chooses not to charge again and reaches his corner.
He tags Varak.
Johnny Michaels: “Ogre prevented the Crushing Backbreaker through leverage and repeated strikes to the back.”
Eddie Ellington: “There is no shame in abandoning a move when you realize the opponent is too large to cooperate.”
Minute 8
Varak enters and immediately climbs onto the middle rope.
Ogre turns toward him too late.
Varak launches forward with the Apex Descent and drives his shoulder across the champion’s upper chest.
Ogre crashes onto his back.
Varak attempts a cover, but Ogre throws him aside before Honest Abe can reach two.
The champion rolls toward his corner and tags Kong.
Johnny Michaels: “A second Apex Descent connects, this time against Ogre. Varak is using the ropes to generate enough force to move opponents who would otherwise be nearly impossible to knock down.”
Eddie Ellington: “He knocked Ogre down. He did not keep him down. There is a significant difference.”
Minute 9
Kong enters as Varak tries to regain his balance.
The champion swings both arms together and drives another Sledgehammer to the Chest into Varak.
The challenger collapses to one knee and clutches his ribs.
Honest Abe moves closer and asks whether Varak can continue.
Varak waves him away, but his breathing becomes visibly labored.
Marcus the Beastmaster pounds the apron and shouts for Varak to reach the corner.
Kong stands between the injured challenger and Karnyx.
Johnny Michaels: “That strike may have injured Varak. The first blow weakened the chest, and this second Sledgehammer landed directly across the same area.”
Eddie Ellington: “This is what I warned about. Varak has spent the match trying to prove he can stand with Kong. He has now learned that he cannot.”
Minute 10
Varak attempts to crawl toward his corner.
Kong catches him by the head and pulls him back toward the center.
The champion drags Varak forward with a Snap Mare and drives him onto the canvas.
Varak remains seated and holds his ribs.
Kong delivers a short kick between the shoulder blades before returning to his corner.
He tags Ogre.
Ogre steps through the ropes while Varak struggles to rise.
Johnny Michaels: “The champions are isolating the injured Varak. Every second he remains in the ring makes the path to Karnyx more difficult.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is championship tag-team wrestling. Identify the wounded member and make certain he remains wounded.”
Minute 11
Ogre pulls Varak away from the ropes and drops a heavy Knee Drop across his upper chest.
Varak rolls onto his side, but Ogre reaches for him again.
The challenger suddenly springs upward, catches Ogre around the body, and spins through with a Tilt-a-Whirl Slam.
Both men hit the canvas.
Varak crawls toward his corner while Ogre rolls toward the champions’ side.
Ogre tags Kong.
Varak reaches Karnyx.
Both fresh competitors charge into the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “An extraordinary response by Varak. Despite the injury, he found the strength for that Tilt-a-Whirl Slam and secured the tag.”
Eddie Ellington: “It was desperation, not recovery. Varak is still damaged, and now Karnyx must carry the entire team.”
Minute 12
Kong and Karnyx trade heavy forearms in the center of the ring.
Karnyx reaches toward the eyes and rakes his fingers across Kong’s face.
The champion turns away, temporarily blinded.
Karnyx charges, but Kong catches him around the torso.
The champion swings Karnyx through the air and drives him down with the Jungle Swing.
Karnyx rolls toward his corner and reaches for Varak.
Despite his injured ribs, Varak accepts the tag.
Johnny Michaels: “Both competitors found openings. Karnyx used the eye rake, but Kong recovered and completed the Jungle Swing.”
Eddie Ellington: “That eye rake should bring disciplinary action. Ultimate Beasts are becoming desperate.”
Johnny Michaels: “You defended Dr. Frankenstein’s interference before the bell.”
Eddie Ellington: “Management and eye attacks are entirely different matters.”
Minute 13
Varak enters and catches Kong with a forearm.
Kong answers with a kick to the midsection, wraps both arms around Varak, and completes another Jungle Swing.
The challenger lands heavily but forces himself back to his feet.
As Kong approaches, Varak hooks him around the waist and powers him overhead with a Shattering Suplex.
Kong lands across his shoulders.
Both men remain down while their partners call for tags.
Johnny Michaels: “Varak continues fighting through the rib injury. That Shattering Suplex required enormous strength.”
Eddie Ellington: “It also required him to lift Kong while his ribs were already damaged. Brave, perhaps. Intelligent, absolutely not.”
Minute 14
Dr. Frankenstein steps closer to the apron and shouts instructions toward Kong.
The champion listens as Varak pulls him upright.
Following the direction from his manager, Kong shifts his footing and drives a short forearm into Varak’s injured ribs.
Varak absorbs the strike, catches Kong as he moves forward, and drives him to the canvas with a Power Slam.
The impact leaves both men down again.
Varak rolls toward his corner and tags Karnyx.
Johnny Michaels: “Dr. Frankenstein directed Kong toward the injured ribs, but Varak still completed that Power Slam before making the tag.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is exactly why Dr. Frankenstein is valuable. Even when the challengers succeed, every exchange costs them something.”
Minute 15
Karnyx enters and charges toward Kong.
The champion catches him with a punch to the face.
Ogre steps through the ropes as Kong drags Karnyx toward the champions’ corner.
Kong holds the challenger in place while Ogre lifts him and drives him down with a Double Back Slam.
Honest Abe orders Ogre toward the apron.
Before the champion can leave, Karnyx rolls away, rises, and runs toward the ropes.
He rebounds and crushes Kong beneath another Ground Zero Splash.
Ogre breaks the cover before a count can begin.
Johnny Michaels: “The champions began an extended double-team attack, but Karnyx survived the Double Back Slam and answered with the Ground Zero Splash.”
Eddie Ellington: “Ogre was still leaving the ring. Karnyx took advantage of a transitional moment.”
Johnny Michaels: “He took advantage of the opening created by surviving two opponents.”
Minute 16
Kong and Ogre remain inside as Honest Abe struggles to restore order.
The champions pull Karnyx upright.
Kong drives him over with a Snap Mare.
As Karnyx rises, Ogre catches him and completes another Snap Mare from the opposite side.
Karnyx rolls to his feet and suddenly grips Kong around the throat and shoulder.
With a surge of strength, Karnyx launches Kong across the ring with a One-Hand Toss.
The crowd rises as the champion crashes near the ropes.
Honest Abe forces Ogre back to the apron.
Johnny Michaels: “Incredible strength from Karnyx. After absorbing consecutive attacks from both champions, he threw Kong across the ring with one hand.”
Eddie Ellington: “Impressive, but look at the energy it required. The champions are forcing Karnyx to spend everything simply to remain alive in this match.”
Minute 17
Ogre enters again before Honest Abe can stop him.
Kong and Ogre trap Karnyx between them.
Kong strikes first with a punch to the face.
Ogre follows with another punch from the opposite side.
The champions continue alternating blows while Karnyx absorbs the punishment and refuses to fall.
Honest Abe reaches the fourth count.
Ogre finally steps back through the ropes.
Karnyx collapses to one knee but remains conscious.
Johnny Michaels: “Karnyx endured a sustained attack from both champions. Honest Abe was one count away from disqualifying Monster Bash Enforcers.”
Eddie Ellington: “They used the available count perfectly. That is not a violation. That is timing.”
Minute 18
Kong pulls Karnyx upright while Dr. Frankenstein climbs onto the apron.
The manager begins arguing with Honest Abe about the previous count.
As the referee turns toward him, Kong drives another heavy forearm into Karnyx.
The challenger answers by catching Kong around the upper body.
Karnyx lifts the champion and sends him across the ring with another One-Hand Toss.
Honest Abe turns back as Kong hits the canvas.
Marcus the Beastmaster points toward Dr. Frankenstein and demands that the manager be removed.
Johnny Michaels: “Dr. Frankenstein deliberately distracted the referee, but Karnyx still found the strength to throw Kong.”
Eddie Ellington: “The doctor asked a question. Is conversation prohibited now?”
Johnny Michaels: “He climbed onto the apron during active competition.”
Eddie Ellington: “Medical professionals require a clear view.”
Minute 19
Kong rises before Karnyx can reach his corner.
The champion catches Karnyx beneath both arms and lifts him high above his head.
Kong holds the challenger suspended for several seconds before dropping him chest-first with a Gorilla Press Drop.
Karnyx bounces from the canvas and rolls onto his back.
Kong covers him.
Honest Abe counts one.
Karnyx throws a shoulder up before the second count.
Kong stares down at the challenger in surprise.
Johnny Michaels: “Only a one-count after the Gorilla Press Drop. Karnyx still has tremendous reserves left.”
Eddie Ellington: “Or he wasted energy kicking out too early. There was no prize for escaping at one.”
Johnny Michaels: “It sent a message to the champions.”
Eddie Ellington: “The message should have been sent from a safer location.”
Minute 20
Karnyx rolls toward his corner and finally reaches Varak.
The injured challenger enters as Kong attempts to pull Karnyx back.
Varak catches the champion with a Power Slam.
Karnyx remains inside and lifts Kong across his knee with a Crushing Backbreaker.
Varak follows by driving the champion down a second time with another Power Slam.
Honest Abe orders Karnyx back to the apron as Varak hooks one leg.
Ogre enters and breaks the cover before the referee can complete the count.
Johnny Michaels: “A devastating combination from Ultimate Beasts. The Crushing Backbreaker from Karnyx led directly into the Power Slam from Varak.”
Eddie Ellington: “And Ogre protected the championship. That is why tag-team matches are not won by one spectacular sequence.”
Minute 21
Varak returns to the apron as Karnyx remains legal.
Dr. Frankenstein moves around the ring and suddenly points toward Marcus the Beastmaster, shouting that he has entered the restricted ringside area.
Karnyx turns toward the accusation.
Kong moves behind him and pulls him backward into a roll-up.
Honest Abe counts one.
Karnyx powers out before two.
The challenger immediately rolls toward his corner and tags Varak.
Marcus the Beastmaster storms toward Dr. Frankenstein, but Honest Abe warns both managers to remain apart.
Johnny Michaels: “Another distraction from Dr. Frankenstein nearly handed the champions the match.”
Eddie Ellington: “Karnyx chose to look away from his opponent. Personal responsibility must exist somewhere in this sport.”
Johnny Michaels: “The doctor created the distraction.”
Eddie Ellington: “A lesser manager would not have been persuasive enough.”
Minute 22
Varak enters and charges toward Kong with a Running Big Boot.
The kick catches the champion across the face.
Ogre steps through the ropes and attacks Varak, but Karnyx enters to meet him.
All four competitors begin fighting inside the ring.
Kong runs forward and crushes Varak beneath a Splash in the corner.
Ogre catches Karnyx and throws him over with a Snap Mare.
Varak recovers and strikes Kong with another Running Big Boot.
Karnyx rises behind Ogre and drives him across one knee with a Crushing Backbreaker.
Honest Abe shouts for both illegal competitors to leave the ring, but neither team responds.
Johnny Michaels: “The match has completely broken down. All four men are inside, and Honest Abe is losing control.”
Eddie Ellington: “This is no longer tag-team wrestling. This is structural damage with a referee standing nearby.”
Minute 23
Kong catches Varak from behind and drives him down with a Double Back Slam.
Across the ring, Ogre strikes Karnyx with a Sledgehammer to the Chest.
Varak rolls toward the ropes and reaches for Kong’s face, driving his fingers across the champion’s eyes.
Karnyx answers Ogre with a Wild Haymaker that sends the champion staggering backward.
All four men continue trading heavy blows.
Marcus the Beastmaster pounds the apron and shouts for his team to divide the champions.
Dr. Frankenstein screams for Kong and Ogre to maintain pressure.
Honest Abe finally forces Ogre and Karnyx toward their respective corners, leaving Kong and Varak legal in the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “Every competitor landed something significant in that exchange. The question is which legal man can recover first.”
Eddie Ellington: “Varak’s ribs are injured, Kong has absorbed two running boots, and both partners have been thrown around the ring. This match may belong to whoever remembers where he is.”
Minute 24
Kong reaches Varak first and pulls him over with a Snap Mare.
The champion runs toward the ropes, looking to follow with another attack.
Varak rises behind him.
As Kong rebounds, Varak moves toward the corner and climbs quickly onto the middle rope.
Kong turns.
Varak launches himself through the air with the Apex Descent.
The top-rope shoulder clothesline crashes across Kong’s upper chest and drives the champion flat onto the canvas.
Varak falls across him and hooks both legs.
Ogre attempts to enter the ring.
Karnyx charges across the apron and collides with Ogre, preventing the save.
Honest Abe drops into position. One … Two … THREE!. The bell rings.
For several seconds, Varak remains across Kong, too exhausted to move.
Marcus the Beastmaster throws both arms into the air.
Karnyx enters the ring and pulls Varak upright.
The challengers look toward Honest Abe as he receives the Universal Tag Team Championship belts from the timekeeper.
Johnny Michaels: “The reign is over. Varak connected with the Apex Descent for the third time, and this time Kong could not escape.”
Eddie Ellington: “I cannot believe it. Dr. Frankenstein had the perfect strategy, but Karnyx prevented Ogre from making the save.”
Johnny Michaels: “That is tag-team wrestling. Karnyx recognized the danger, intercepted Ogre, and ensured that his partner’s cover remained protected.”
Eddie Ellington: “The champions controlled long stretches of this match. One shoulder clothesline should not erase everything they accomplished.”
Johnny Michaels: “It does when that shoulder clothesline produces the deciding three-count.”
Celeste Orion enters the ring.
Honest Abe presents one championship belt to Karnyx and the other to Varak.
Varak drops to his knees and holds the title against his chest.
Karnyx lifts his championship above his head.
Marcus the Beastmaster enters and stands between the new champions.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winners and new NPCW Universal Tag Team Champions, Karnyx and Varak, the Ultimate Beasts.”
The crowd rises as Karnyx and Varak lift the championships together.
At ringside, Dr. Frankenstein stares toward the ring in disbelief.
Ogre stands beside him, breathing heavily.
Kong rolls onto one knee and looks toward the new champions.
Dr. Frankenstein begins shouting at Honest Abe, but the referee points toward the entrance and orders him away from the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “Ultimate Beasts have captured the Universal Tag Team Championship after twenty-four minutes of extraordinary physical competition.”
Eddie Ellington: “The former champions deserve an immediate rematch. Monster Bash Enforcers were forced to fight two challengers, a referee, and the reckless atmosphere created by this audience.”
Johnny Michaels: “Both teams fought under the same rules. Karnyx and Varak survived the champions’ double-team attacks, overcame the tactics of Dr. Frankenstein, and completed the decisive combination when it mattered most.”
Eddie Ellington: “Enjoy the celebration. Kong and Ogre do not appear to be men who accept losing their property quietly.”
Marcus the Beastmaster raises his staff as Karnyx and Varak climb opposite turnbuckles with the championships.
Johnny Michaels: “The Universal Tag Team Championship has changed hands at Polar Meltdown. Ultimate Beasts have reached the summit of NPCW’s tag-team division.”
EDDIE ELLINGTON: “They have reached it. Staying there while Monster Bash Enforcers are hunting them will be the difficult part.”
ULTIMATE BEASTS DEFEAT MONSTER BASH ENFORCERS VIA PINFALL AT THE 24:00 MINUTE MARK TO WIN THE NPCW UNIVERSAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP.
The broadcast cuts backstage to the Polar Meltdown interview area.
The blue-white Polar Division backdrop glows beneath narrow overhead lights. Silver garland and dark blue Christmas ornaments frame the set, but the festive decorations feel subdued beneath the tension surrounding the next match.
Smooth Samantha Satin stands in front of the Polar Meltdown logo wearing a sheer black dress with subtle silver detailing. She holds a Polar Power microphone at chest level.
Beside her stands Mr. Mason.
He is alone.
There is no Negropolis. There is no Ace MacDougal. There is no Flippers.
Mr. Mason wears a clean white shirt beneath a burgundy cardigan. His hair is neatly arranged. His hands rest calmly in front of him, with his wedding ring clearly visible beneath the studio lighting.
He is not pacing.
He is not shouting.
He is not displaying any outward anger.
A faint, precise smile rests across his face.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time is Mr. Mason.”
The crowd inside Scrooge’s Glacier Plex responds with a loud cheer.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Later tonight, you will team with Negropolis against Brakk Bloodmaw and Veyrik Nightclaw, the Crimson Maulers, in what has been officially designated the Save Edie Match.”
The smile remains on Mr. Mason’s face.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “The terms are clear. If you and Negropolis win, your wife, Dr. Edie Hartwell Mason, must be returned.”
Mr. Mason slowly nods.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “You are normally accompanied by Ace MacDougal and Flippers. Your partner, Negropolis, has also stood beside you throughout this situation.”
She looks briefly toward the empty space surrounding him.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Tonight, you have chosen to come here alone. Why?”
Mr. Mason looks down at his wedding ring.
He turns it once around his finger before answering.
Mr. Mason: “Because this lesson is mine.”
His voice is soft.
Measured.
Almost gentle.
Mr. Mason: “Negropolis understands his part. Ace understands his. Flippers understands more than most people ever give him credit for.”
The faint smile returns.
Mr. Mason: “They are my friends. Good friends.”
He looks toward Smooth Samantha Satin.
Mr. Mason: “But there are moments when a man should stand by himself and explain precisely what is going to happen.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Then what is going to happen?”
Mr. Mason turns toward the camera.
Mr. Mason: “Good evening, neighbors.”
The crowd inside the arena reacts immediately.
Mr. Mason: “Tonight’s lesson is about possession.”
He clasps his hands together.
Mr. Mason: “Some people believe that when they take something, it becomes theirs.”
His expression remains pleasant.
Mr. Mason: “A championship.”
He pauses.
Mr. Mason: “A home.”
Another pause.
Mr. Mason: “A person.”
The smile slowly fades.
Mr. Mason: “That is an incorrect lesson.”
Smooth Samantha Satin watches him carefully.
Mr. Mason: “Brakk Bloodmaw and Veyrik Nightclaw were given a job.”
His eyes sharpen slightly.
Mr. Mason: “They were told to enter my wedding.”
He lifts one finger.
Mr. Mason: “They were told to attack my family.”
He raises a second.
Mr. Mason: “They were told to take my wife.”
A third finger rises.
Mr. Mason: “And because they completed that job, they began to believe they had accomplished something important.”
He lowers his hand.
Mr. Mason: “They did not.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “They have caused considerable damage. Edie remains in captivity, and the people responsible have repeatedly attempted to use that against you.”
Mr. Mason: “Yes.”
He says the word without hesitation.
Mr. Mason: “They hurt people I love.”
His thumb moves slowly across his wedding ring.
Mr. Mason: “That was unkind.”
The silence after the statement feels heavier than a shout.
Mr. Mason: “But cruelty is often mistaken for intelligence.”
He tilts his head slightly.
Mr. Mason: “The Crimson Maulers believe they have been controlling this situation because they chose where it began.”
He looks directly into the camera.
Mr. Mason: “They chose the wedding.”
Mr. Mason: “They chose the attack.”
Mr. Mason: “They chose to take Edie.”
His voice remains calm.
Mr. Mason: “But they do not get to choose how the lesson ends.”
A chant begins inside the arena.
BRING EDIE HOME! BRING EDIE HOME! BRING EDIE HOME!
Mr. Mason remains motionless as the chant echoes through the building.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “The Crimson Maulers have made it clear that they do not fear you or Negropolis. They have described tonight’s match as another opportunity to cause pain.”
Mr. Mason: “I know.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Does that concern you?”
Mr. Mason turns toward her.
His smile returns.
Mr. Mason: “No.”
He allows the answer to settle.
Mr. Mason: “Pain is a very simple language.”
Mr. Mason: “Even the least attentive students understand it eventually.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “And you intend to teach that lesson tonight?”
Mr. Mason: “Oh, no.”
He gently shakes his head.
Mr. Mason: “That is not the lesson.”
Smooth Samantha Satin waits.
Mr. Mason: “The lesson is consequence.”
He turns back toward the camera.
Mr. Mason: “Brakk Bloodmaw.”
Mr. Mason: “Veyrik Nightclaw.”
Mr. Mason: “You have spent weeks behaving as though this is a hunt.”
His hands remain folded neatly in front of him.
Mr. Mason: “You believe Edie is your prize.”
The muscles in his jaw tighten for only a moment.
Mr. Mason: “My wife is not a prize.”
His voice becomes quieter.
Mr. Mason: “She is not leverage.”
Mr. Mason: “She is not a package to be delivered.”
Mr. Mason: “She is not payment for a favor.”
He looks down at the wedding ring again.
Mr. Mason: “She is Dr. Edie Hartwell Mason.”
He raises his eyes.
Mr. Mason: “She is a doctor.”
Mr. Mason: “She is a daughter.”
Mr. Mason: “She is a sister.”
His expression hardens.
Mr. Mason: “She is my wife.”
The crowd cheers loudly.
Mr. Mason: “And tonight, she is coming home.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “You sound completely certain.”
Mr. Mason: “I am.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Even against two men as dangerous as the Crimson Maulers?”
Mr. Mason: “Dangerous men still make mistakes.”
He leans slightly toward the microphone.
Mr. Mason: “Their first mistake was entering the wedding.”
Mr. Mason: “Their second mistake was accepting this match.”
The faint smile widens by the smallest degree.
Mr. Mason: “Their final mistake will be believing that Negropolis and I have come to defeat them.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “You have not?”
Mr. Mason: “Defeating them is merely how the contract works.”
His tone becomes almost instructional.
Mr. Mason: “One of them will have his shoulders placed against the canvas.”
He lifts one finger.
Mr. Mason: “Honest Abe will count one.”
A second finger rises.
Mr. Mason: “Then two.”
He raises a third.
Mr. Mason: “Then three.”
His hand lowers.
Mr. Mason: “That is the administrative portion of tonight’s lesson.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “What is the rest of it?”
Mr. Mason looks toward the camera without blinking.
Mr. Mason: “The rest is making certain they remember.”
The crowd’s reaction grows louder.
Mr. Mason: “They should remember the moment they entered my wedding.”
Mr. Mason: “They should remember every person they struck.”
Mr. Mason: “They should remember the sound of Edie’s name being shouted by everyone in this building.”
The chant begins again.
BRING EDIE HOME! BRING EDIE HOME! BRING EDIE HOME!
Mr. Mason: “And when they wake tomorrow, they should remember that taking someone’s family is not strength.”
He leans closer to the camera.
Mr. Mason: “It is an invitation.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “An invitation to what?”
Mr. Mason: “A conversation about consequences.”
The smile disappears completely.
Mr. Mason: “The Crimson Maulers wanted the attention of Mr. Mason.”
He smooths one sleeve of his cardigan.
Mr. Mason: “They have it.”
He adjusts the other sleeve.
Mr. Mason: “They wanted me to come looking for them.”
He straightens the front of the cardigan.
Mr. Mason: “I am here.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Where is Negropolis tonight?”
Mr. Mason: “Preparing.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “And Ace MacDougal and Flippers?”
Mr. Mason: “Somewhere safe.”
He pauses.
Mr. Mason: “That was my decision.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Because you expect the situation to become violent?”
Mr. Mason looks at her with mild surprise.
Mr. Mason: “Samantha, the situation became violent at my wedding.”
His calmness never changes.
Mr. Mason: “Tonight is when we correct it.”
He turns fully toward the camera.
Mr. Mason: “Now, neighbors, I would like everyone to pay close attention.”
The crowd quiets enough for his soft voice to carry through the arena.
Mr. Mason: “There will be noise.”
Mr. Mason: “There will be confusion.”
Mr. Mason: “There may be moments when the Crimson Maulers appear to be in control.”
His hand closes around the wedding ring.
Mr. Mason: “Do not be concerned.”
Mr. Mason: “A lesson does not always make sense at the beginning.”
He releases the ring.
Mr. Mason: “Sometimes the student struggles.”
Mr. Mason: “Sometimes the student refuses to listen.”
His faint smile returns.
Mr. Mason: “Sometimes the teacher must repeat himself.”
The audience cheers.
Mr. Mason: “But when the bell rings at the end of tonight’s match, Brakk Bloodmaw and Veyrik Nightclaw will understand.”
Mr. Mason: “Edie will be returned.”
Mr. Mason: “She will come home.”
Mr. Mason: “And the Crimson Maulers will learn that there are some doors they should never have opened.”
He takes one step away from Smooth Samantha Satin, then stops.
Mr. Mason: “Lesson one.”
He looks back toward the camera.
Mr. Mason: “Weddings are not jobs.”
Another step.
Mr. Mason: “Wives are not packages.”
He turns toward the corridor.
Mr. Mason: “Families are not prey.”
Mr. Mason begins walking away from the interview area.
After several steps, he stops once more without turning around.
Mr. Mason: “Class begins soon.”
He calmly continues down the corridor.
The camera remains on Smooth Samantha Satin, who watches him leave before turning back toward the audience.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Mr. Mason has promised that tonight’s Save Edie Match will end with Dr. Edie Hartwell Mason being returned to her family.”
The broadcast cuts back to the commentary desk.
Johnny Michaels: “There was no panic in Mr. Mason’s voice. No uncertainty. He believes absolutely that he and Negropolis will defeat the Crimson Maulers and bring Edie home.”
Eddie Ellington: “That was not confidence. That was a man who has become so calm that everyone around him should become extremely nervous.”
Johnny Michaels: “We have seen many versions of Jack Mason, but this is different. Every word is controlled. Every action appears deliberate.”
Eddie Ellington: “He has folded all that anger into a clean cardigan and called it education. I preferred him when he shouted. At least then you knew when to run.”
Johnny Michaels: “The stakes could not be more personal. If Mr. Mason and Negropolis win tonight, the contractual agreement requires that Edie Hartwell Mason be returned.”
Eddie Ellington: “And if they lose, Mr. Mason must face the possibility that his lesson was prepared for the wrong students.”
Johnny Michaels: “That match is still to come. Next, the NPCW Universal Championship will be defended as Ghost of Christmas Past faces Frosty.”
The camera returns to Scrooge’s Glacier Plex as the Universal Tag Team Championship celebration clears from ringside.
The arena lights dim.
A cold silver glow settles across the ring while the NPCW Universal Championship appears on the video wall.
Footage plays of Ghost of Christmas Past imposing his will across the Polar Division. Heavy clotheslines. Crushing boots. Opponents driven into the canvas beneath the champion’s relentless power.
The images shift.
Frosty stands beneath falling snow, refusing to retreat as Grim Tidings surround him. The footage shows him rising after repeated attacks, fighting through exhaustion, and declaring that belief is not weakness.
Johnny Michaels: “The Universal Championship is about to be defended, and this match carries months of frustration, punishment, and personal animosity.”
Eddie Ellington: “Frustration for Frosty, perhaps. Ghost of Christmas Past has spent those months proving he is the most dominant champion in NPCW.”
Johnny Michaels: “The champion has repeatedly targeted Frosty, both physically and psychologically. Tonight, Frosty finally has the opportunity to answer inside the ring.”
Eddie Ellington: “He has the opportunity to make a terrible decision in front of thousands of witnesses.”
A single bell rings.
The video wall turns blue-white as snow begins falling across a peaceful winter village.
Children’s laughter can be heard beneath the opening notes of an uplifting orchestral theme.
The stage fills with bright white light.
Frosty emerges through the curtain.
He wears his familiar white and blue wrestling gear with dark boots and a long blue entrance scarf wrapped around his neck. His expression is serious, but the warmth associated with him remains visible beneath the tension.
The crowd rises.
FROSTY! FROSTY! FROSTY!
Frosty pauses at the top of the ramp and looks across Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
He removes the scarf and raises it above his head before beginning his walk toward the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “Listen to this reception. Frosty has been attacked, mocked, and repeatedly told that he does not belong at the Universal Championship level.”
Eddie Ellington: “The champion has been trying to help him understand reality.”
Johnny Michaels: “You call the attacks by Grim Tidings helpful?”
Eddie Ellington: “Some lessons require visual aids.”
Johnny Michaels: “Frosty earned this opportunity by continuing to stand after every attempt to drive him away.”
Eddie Ellington: “Standing is not the same as winning. Snowmen stand in gardens all winter. Nobody gives them championship matches.”
Frosty reaches ringside and walks around the ring, greeting several young fans along the barricade.
He climbs the steps and enters through the ropes.
At the center of the ring, Frosty raises both arms as artificial snow begins falling above him.
The crowd cheers again.
Frosty moves to his corner and watches the entrance stage.
The music stops.
The snow disappears.
The arena becomes dark.
A grandfather clock begins ticking.
Each second echoes through Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
Old photographs fill the video wall.
Former champions.
Broken opponents.
Moments of celebration fading into shadows.
The hands of the clock begin spinning backward.
A deep voice speaks through the darkness.
“Everything joyful becomes memory.”
The clock strikes midnight.
Pale silver light floods the stage.
Fenwick Grimbough steps through the curtain wearing a long dark coat and carrying an ancient wooden cane.
He looks toward the ring with a narrow smile.
Behind him, Ghost of Christmas Past emerges.
The Universal Championship rests across the champion’s shoulder.
Ghost of Christmas Past wears dark silver and black ring gear beneath a long ceremonial cloak. His expression is stern and unmoved by the hostile reaction from the audience.
Fenwick Grimbough gestures toward Frosty, then leans close to the champion and whispers something into his ear.
Ghost of Christmas Past begins walking toward the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “The Universal Champion arrives with Fenwick Grimbough, the man who has encouraged every attack and every attempt to humiliate Frosty.”
Eddie Ellington: “Fenwick Grimbough understands history. History teaches us that sentiment eventually loses to reality.”
Johnny Michaels: “Ghost of Christmas Past is powerful, experienced, and dangerous, but Frosty has refused to be intimidated.”
Eddie Ellington: “That merely proves Frosty has poor survival instincts.”
The champion reaches ringside and stops.
Frosty stands in the center of the ring, inviting him forward.
Ghost of Christmas Past removes the Universal Championship and holds it above his head.
The crowd responds with loud jeers.
Fenwick Grimbough accepts the belt and carefully polishes the center plate before handing it to Honest Abe.
Ghost of Christmas Past climbs onto the apron and steps over the top rope.
The champion walks directly toward Frosty.
Neither man looks away.
Honest Abe moves between them and orders both competitors toward their corners.
Celeste Orion steps into the center of the ring.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the NPCW Universal Championship.”
The crowd cheers.
Celeste Orion turns toward the challenger.
Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, the challenger, the enduring spirit of winter, Frosty.”
Frosty raises one fist as the crowd erupts.
Celeste Orion turns toward the champion.
Celeste Orion: “His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Fenwick Grimbough, he is the reigning and defending NPCW Universal Champion, the Ghost of Christmas Past.”
Ghost of Christmas Past raises both arms while Fenwick Grimbough applauds from ringside.
Eddie Ellington: “There stands the Universal Champion. Observe carefully, Johnny. You are looking at history.”
Johnny Michaels: “History can change in one match.”
Eddie Ellington: “Not tonight.”
Celeste Orion exits the ring.
Honest Abe raises the Universal Championship above his head before handing it to the timekeeper.
He checks both competitors and calls for the bell.
The match begins.
Minute 1
Ghost of Christmas Past advances immediately and drives a forearm into Frosty’s upper body.
Frosty answers with a punch and catches the champion around the waist.
He lifts Ghost of Christmas Past across his shoulders and begins spinning with the Snow Globe Spin.
The champion struggles against the rotation before slipping free and rolling toward the ropes.
Frosty follows, but Ghost of Christmas Past catches him with a boot to the knee and knocks him onto his back.
The champion runs forward and drops an elbow across Frosty’s chest.
Frosty rolls away clutching his ribs while Ghost of Christmas Past rises first.
Johnny Michaels: “Both competitors established their offense immediately. Frosty used the Snow Globe Spin, but the champion recovered and drove the elbow directly across the chest.”
Eddie Ellington: “Frosty wasted energy spinning in circles. Ghost of Christmas Past used one efficient elbow and reclaimed control.”
Minute 2
The competitors lock up again, with neither man gaining immediate control.
Frosty breaks the stalemate by driving a shoulder into the champion’s abdomen.
He wraps both arms around Ghost of Christmas Past and sends him across the ring with the Frostbite Suplex.
The champion rises quickly and charges.
Ghost of Christmas Past swings his arm across Frosty’s upper chest with the Axe Bomber.
The impact turns Frosty inside out.
Both competitors remain down briefly after the heavy exchange.
Johnny Michaels: “The Frostbite Suplex put the champion down, but the Axe Bomber answered with even greater force.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is the difference between challenger and champion. Frosty landed something impressive. Ghost of Christmas Past landed something decisive.”
Minute 3
Both men rise cautiously and reach for another lockup.
Frosty throws the Frozen Fist, catching Ghost of Christmas Past across the jaw.
The champion staggers but does not fall.
Frosty attempts a second punch.
Ghost of Christmas Past ducks beneath it, runs toward the ropes, and drives through the challenger with a Running Clothesline.
Frosty crashes to the canvas.
The champion remains standing over him, staring down without emotion.
Johnny Michaels: “Frosty connected with the Frozen Fist, but Ghost of Christmas Past absorbed it and answered with that powerful Running Clothesline.”
Eddie Ellington: “That punch would have stopped an ordinary man. The Universal Champion is not ordinary.”
Minute 4
Ghost of Christmas Past pulls Frosty upright and attempts to force him into the corner.
Frosty shifts his weight, catches the champion’s forward momentum, and lifts him across his body.
He turns and drives Ghost of Christmas Past into the canvas with the Snowball Slam.
Frosty hooks one leg.
Honest Abe counts one.
The champion powers out before two.
Frosty rises and urges Ghost of Christmas Past to stand.
Johnny Michaels: “Excellent counter by Frosty. The Snowball Slam turned the champion’s aggression against him.”
Eddie Ellington: “And produced a one-count. Frosty should conserve his enthusiasm until he accomplishes something meaningful.”
Minute 5
Frosty charges as the champion rises.
He leaps and connects with the Frosty Flurry Kick, sending Ghost of Christmas Past backward.
The champion catches himself against the ropes.
As Frosty approaches again, Ghost of Christmas Past lifts one leg and drives a Big Boot into his face.
Frosty falls backward and rolls across the canvas.
Ghost of Christmas Past steadies himself against the ropes before moving forward.
Johnny Michaels: “Both men connected cleanly. Frosty landed the dropkick, but the champion answered with that devastating Big Boot.”
Eddie Ellington: “Frosty keeps rushing forward, and the champion keeps punishing him for it. Eventually even a snowman should recognize a wall.”
Minute 6
Ghost of Christmas Past pulls Frosty up by the arm and sends him toward the ropes.
Frosty attempts to stop himself, but the champion follows immediately.
Ghost of Christmas Past charges through the challenger with another Running Clothesline.
Frosty lands hard and slides toward the corner.
The champion covers him.
Honest Abe reaches one before Frosty escapes.
Ghost of Christmas Past sits upright and looks toward Fenwick Grimbough.
The manager calmly taps his cane against the floor.
Johnny Michaels: “A second Running Clothesline from the Universal Champion, and this one landed without any resistance from Frosty.”
Eddie Ellington: “The challenger is being reduced one collision at a time. Fenwick Grimbough knows the plan is working perfectly.”
Minute 7
Frosty uses the ropes to rise.
Ghost of Christmas Past corners him and drives repeated standing punches into his head.
Honest Abe begins counting and warns the champion to release him.
At the fourth count, Ghost of Christmas Past steps back.
Frosty suddenly moves forward, catches the champion across his shoulders, and begins another Snow Globe Spin.
The crowd cheers as Frosty rotates through the center of the ring.
He releases Ghost of Christmas Past, sending the champion staggering toward the corner.
Johnny Michaels: “Frosty endured those punches and found enough strength for another Snow Globe Spin.”
Eddie Ellington: “He has made the champion dizzy. An innovative strategy, provided he plans to win by motion sickness.”
Minute 8
Frosty charges toward the corner.
Ghost of Christmas Past catches him in both arms and locks his hands behind the challenger’s back.
The champion lifts Frosty from the canvas and compresses his ribs with a Bear Hug.
Honest Abe asks whether Frosty submits.
Frosty shakes his head and drives repeated blows into the champion’s ears.
The hold loosens.
Frosty lands on his feet, wraps both arms around Ghost of Christmas Past, and launches him with another Frostbite Suplex.
The champion rolls onto his side while Frosty remains on the canvas, holding his ribs.
Johnny Michaels: “Frosty refused to submit to the Bear Hug and answered with the Frostbite Suplex, but the pressure across his ribs clearly caused damage.”
Eddie Ellington: “The champion forced Frosty to spend strength escaping while crushing the air from his body. Even when Frosty succeeds, he loses.”
Minute 9
Frosty rises first and attempts to pull the champion upright.
Ghost of Christmas Past suddenly traps him around the head and throws him toward the canvas.
The champion runs to the ropes and returns with the Blast from the Past, driving a Running Leg Drop across Frosty’s chest.
Ghost of Christmas Past attempts to cover him, but Frosty rolls to one side before the referee can count.
The challenger forces himself upright and catches the champion moving forward.
Frosty wraps both arms around Ghost of Christmas Past and delivers a third Frostbite Suplex.
Both men hit the canvas and remain down.
Johnny Michaels: “The Blast from the Past landed across the already damaged ribs, but Frosty answered again with the Frostbite Suplex.”
Eddie Ellington: “He is surviving through instinct, Johnny. That is not a championship strategy. It is what happens when planning has failed.”
Minute 10
Ghost of Christmas Past reaches his feet and traps Frosty in another Bear Hug.
The champion lifts him from the canvas and squeezes tightly.
Frosty refuses to submit.
He strikes the champion with both palms, breaks the grip, and drives forward.
Frosty forces Ghost of Christmas Past through the ropes and sends him crashing to the floor.
Honest Abe begins the count.
One ... Two ...
Ghost of Christmas Past rises near the barricade.
Three ... Four ...
Frosty stands in the ring and motions for the champion to return.
Five ... Six ...
Fenwick Grimbough points toward the ring and shouts at the champion.
Seven ...
Ghost of Christmas Past climbs onto the apron.
Eight ...
The champion steps through the ropes and breaks the count.
Johnny Michaels: “Frosty survived the second Bear Hug and sent the Universal Champion to the floor. Ghost of Christmas Past returned at eight, but the challenger forced him dangerously close to a countout.”
Eddie Ellington: “The champion knew exactly how long he had. That was composure, not danger.”
Minute 11
Frosty approaches as the champion reenters.
Ghost of Christmas Past suddenly lifts his leg and drives another Big Boot into Frosty’s face.
The challenger falls flat onto his back.
The champion makes the cover.
Honest Abe counts one ...two.
Frosty raises one shoulder.
The crowd cheers.
Ghost of Christmas Past looks toward Honest Abe and demands a faster count.
The referee firmly signals two.
Johnny Michaels: “Frosty survives the Big Boot. He was struck cleanly, but he still found the strength to escape before three.”
Eddie Ellington: “That count was slow.”
Johnny Michaels: “It was perfectly consistent.”
Eddie Ellington: “Consistently slow.”
Minute 12
Ghost of Christmas Past pulls Frosty upright and drives him down across an Atomic Drop.
Frosty stumbles forward but turns before the champion can follow.
He catches the champion’s leg and sweeps him to the canvas.
Frosty steps between the legs and locks in the Blizzard Bind.
Ghost of Christmas Past reaches toward the ropes, but Frosty leans back and increases the pressure.
Honest Abe asks whether the champion submits.
Ghost of Christmas Past refuses.
He drags himself across the canvas, reaches the bottom rope, and grips it with one hand.
Frosty releases the hold at the referee’s command.
Johnny Michaels: “The Blizzard Bind nearly changed this match. Frosty trapped the champion in the center before Ghost of Christmas Past fought his way to the rope.”
Eddie Ellington: “Champions know where they are at all times. Frosty had his best opportunity and could not finish it.”
Minute 13
Frosty rises and reaches for the champion.
Ghost of Christmas Past suddenly swings his arm across the challenger’s chest with the Axe Bomber.
Frosty collapses to the canvas.
The champion attempts to follow, but Frosty rolls beneath the bottom rope and falls to the arena floor.
Honest Abe begins the count.
One ...Two ...
Frosty pulls himself upright against the apron.
Three ... Four...
Ghost of Christmas Past stands inside the ring and watches.
Five ...
Fenwick Grimbough moves toward Frosty, but Honest Abe points directly at him and orders him away.
Six ...
Frosty climbs onto the apron.
Seven ...
The challenger rolls beneath the bottom rope.
Ghost of Christmas Past attacks immediately.
He pulls Frosty to his feet and delivers a second Axe Bomber across the upper chest.
Frosty falls backward.
The champion covers him and hooks one leg.
Honest Abe counts One ...Two ... THREE! The bell rings.
Ghost of Christmas Past releases the leg and rises to one knee.
Fenwick Grimbough steps onto the apron and raises his cane.
The crowd responds with loud jeers.
Johnny Michaels: “Frosty survived the first Axe Bomber, returned to the ring at seven, but the champion was waiting with another.”
Eddie Ellington: “Exactly as a Universal Champion should. Ghost of Christmas Past did not waste a second. He recognized the weakened challenger and ended the match.”
Johnny Michaels: “Frosty fought through two Bear Hugs, two Big Boots, repeated clotheslines, and the Blast from the Past. His challenge ends tonight, but there can be no question about his courage.”
Eddie Ellington: “Courage does not carry a championship. Ghost of Christmas Past does.”
Celeste Orion enters the ring as Honest Abe retrieves the Universal Championship.
The referee presents the belt to Ghost of Christmas Past.
The champion takes it and raises it above his head.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winner and still NPCW Universal Champion, the Ghost of Christmas Past.”
Fenwick Grimbough enters and places the championship across the champion’s shoulder.
Ghost of Christmas Past looks down at Frosty.
The challenger remains on the canvas, breathing heavily.
Fenwick Grimbough leans toward Frosty and says something unheard beneath the crowd.
The champion places one boot against Frosty’s chest.
Honest Abe immediately steps between them and orders Ghost of Christmas Past away.
Johnny Michaels: “The match is over. There is no reason for the champion or Fenwick Grimbough to continue.”
Eddie Ellington: “The champion is allowing Frosty to remember who defeated him.”
Johnny Michaels: “The result is already official.”
Ghost of Christmas Past removes his boot and walks toward the corner.
He climbs onto the middle turnbuckle and raises the Universal Championship.
Fenwick Grimbough stands below him with both arms extended, presenting the champion to the hostile crowd.
Behind them, Frosty uses the ropes to pull himself upright.
The crowd begins chanting again.
FROSTY! FROSTY! FROSTY!
Ghost of Christmas Past turns toward the sound.
He watches as Frosty reaches his feet.
The challenger holds his injured ribs but refuses assistance from Honest Abe.
Frosty looks across the ring at the champion.
He does not speak.
He simply remains standing.
The crowd becomes louder.
Johnny Michaels: “Ghost of Christmas Past retains the Universal Championship, but Frosty is leaving this match on his feet.”
Eddie Ellington: “He is leaving without the championship.”
Johnny Michaels: “That is true. Tonight belonged to the champion. But after everything Ghost of Christmas Past and Grim Tidings did to convince Frosty that he did not belong, the challenger proved that he could stand against the Universal Champion.”
Eddie Ellington: “He stood against him and lost. History will remember the second part.”
Johnny Michaels: “The official record will show a successful defense for Ghost of Christmas Past. The people inside Scrooge’s Glacier Plex will remember what Frosty endured to challenge him.”
GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST DEFEATS FROSTY VIA PINFALL AT THE 13:00 MINUTE MARK TO RETAIN THE NPCW UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
The Universal Championship graphics fade from the video wall.
The camera moves slowly across Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
The atmosphere has changed.
Fans throughout the arena hold signs bearing the same message.

Mr. Mason attempting to reach his wife.
Edie Hartwell Mason being carried away while Count Daculescu watches from the shadows.
The footage ends with the signed contractual agreement filling the screen.
IF MR. MASON AND NEGROPOLIS WIN, EDIE HARTWELL MASON MUST BE RETURNED.
Johnny Michaels: “This is the most personal match on the Polar Meltdown card. A victory for Mr. Mason and Negropolis means that Dr. Edie Hartwell Mason must be returned to her family.”
Eddie Ellington: “And a loss means Mr. Mason has wasted everyone’s time with his cardigans, his lectures, his ridiculous friends, and his endless insistence that the entire world should care about his domestic problems.”
Johnny Michaels: “His wife was abducted from their wedding.”
Eddie Ellington: “I understand the situation. I have simply heard enough about it.”
Johnny Michaels: “The Crimson Maulers entered that wedding under orders, assaulted innocent people, and took Edie. Tonight, Mr. Mason and Negropolis have a chance to bring her home.”
Eddie Ellington: “The Crimson Maulers completed the job they were hired to perform. That makes them reliable professionals. Mr. Mason should have hired better wedding security.”
The arena lights dim.
A warm piano melody begins.
The Polar Meltdown screen transforms into a quiet neighborhood street beneath gently falling snow. Porch lights glow. A white fence stretches across the image. A single front door appears at the end of the road.
The door opens.
Ace MacDougal steps onto the stage first.
He wears his familiar coat and cap, but there is no easygoing smile tonight. He turns toward the entrance and raises one hand.
Flippers waddles through the curtain beside him wearing a small blue scarf.
The crowd cheers loudly.
Eddie Ellington: “Wonderful. The fisherman and the bird have arrived. This has become the most embarrassing rescue operation in human history.”
Johnny Michaels: “Ace MacDougal and Flippers have stood beside the Mason family from the beginning.”
Eddie Ellington: “That does not make them useful.”
A heavy industrial beat joins the piano.
The peaceful neighborhood on the video wall loses power.
Every window becomes dark.
A towering silhouette fills the screen.
Negropolis emerges through black and silver light.
The enormous competitor stops at the top of the ramp and looks toward the ring. His fists close slowly at his sides.
Ace MacDougal stands on one side of him.
Flippers takes position on the other.
Then the music becomes quiet again.
Mr. Mason steps through the curtain.
He wears black wrestling trousers, polished boots, a clean white shirt, and a burgundy cardigan. His wedding ring remains clearly visible on his left hand.
His expression is calm.
His posture is straight.
He looks directly toward the ring without acknowledging the crowd.
Johnny Michaels: “Earlier tonight, Mr. Mason described this match as a lesson in consequences.”
Eddie Ellington: “He is walking toward two predators while dressed like he is about to discuss proper library etiquette.”
Johnny Michaels: “That calm demeanor has made Mr. Mason more dangerous, not less.”
Eddie Ellington: “It has made him irritating. He speaks to everyone as though they are misbehaving children.”
Mr. Mason begins walking down the ramp.
Negropolis follows one step behind him.
Ace MacDougal and Flippers remain beside them.
The crowd rises and begins chanting.
BRING EDIE HOME! BRING EDIE HOME! BRING EDIE HOME!
Mr. Mason pauses midway down the ramp.
He turns toward the crowd and listens.
He looks down at his wedding ring.
Then he resumes walking.
Johnny Michaels: “Every voice inside Scrooge’s Glacier Plex is behind this family.”
Eddie Ellington: “That proves only that poor judgment is contagious.”
The group reaches ringside.
Flippers remains close to the barricade while Ace MacDougal speaks quietly to Mr. Mason.
Negropolis steps onto the apron and enters over the top rope.
Mr. Mason climbs the stairs, wipes his boots against the apron, and steps through the ropes.
He moves to the center of the ring.
He does not raise his arms.
He simply looks toward the entrance.
The music ends.
A low growl reverberates through the arena.
The video wall becomes dark red.
Two enormous claw marks tear through the image, revealing the ruins of a stone courtyard beneath a blood-colored moon.
Count Daculescu steps through the curtain.
He wears a long black coat lined with crimson fabric. His expression carries quiet satisfaction as he looks toward Mr. Mason.
Mr. Mason’s face does not change.
Count Daculescu extends one hand toward the entrance.
Veyrik Nightclaw emerges first.
He crouches beneath the red light, spreads both arms, and releases a feral roar toward the ring.
Brakk Bloodmaw follows.
The larger Mauler walks forward with heavy, deliberate steps. He strikes one fist into his opposite palm while staring directly at Mr. Mason.
Count Daculescu moves between them.
The Crimson Maulers begin their march toward the ring.
Eddie Ellington: “Now there is a professional team. Brakk Bloodmaw and Veyrik Nightclaw accepted a difficult assignment, executed it successfully, and have refused to be intimidated by weeks of whining.”
Johnny Michaels: “You are describing an abduction as an assignment.”
Eddie Ellington: “I am describing results. The Crimson Maulers produce them.”
Johnny Michaels: “Tonight, they must defeat two men who are fighting for far more than a place in the standings.”
Eddie Ellington: “That emotional investment is precisely why Mr. Mason will make mistakes.”
The Crimson Maulers reach ringside.
Veyrik Nightclaw circles one side of the ring while Brakk Bloodmaw approaches the other.
Negropolis steps between the ropes and invites them inside.
Count Daculescu raises one hand, stopping his team.
He looks toward Mr. Mason and smiles.
Mr. Mason responds by adjusting one sleeve of his cardigan.
Johnny Michaels: “Count Daculescu wants a reaction. Mr. Mason is refusing to provide one.”
Eddie Ellington: “He is hiding behind manners because he knows he cannot intimidate the Crimson Maulers.”
Brakk Bloodmaw climbs onto the apron.
Veyrik Nightclaw follows from the opposite side.
Both Maulers enter simultaneously.
Honest Abe moves between the teams before the confrontation can begin.
Ace MacDougal leads Flippers toward their corner while Count Daculescu takes his position across the ring.
Celeste Orion steps into the center.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following tag-team contest is the Saving Edie Match.”
The crowd cheers.
Celeste Orion: “By legally binding agreement, if Mr. Mason and Negropolis win this match, Dr. Edie Hartwell Mason must be returned to her family.”
The crowd begins chanting again.
BRING EDIE HOME! BRING EDIE HOME! BRING EDIE HOME!
Celeste Orion turns toward the first corner.
Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Ace MacDougal and Flippers, the team of Negropolis and Jack Mason, known as Mr. Mason.”
Negropolis raises one fist.
Mr. Mason looks directly across the ring at the Crimson Maulers.
Eddie Ellington: “Known as Mr. Mason by people patient enough to endure him.”
Celeste Orion turns toward the opposite corner.
Celeste Orion: “Their opponents, accompanied to the ring by Count Daculescu, the team of Veyrik Nightclaw and Brakk Bloodmaw, the Crimson Maulers.”
Veyrik Nightclaw throws his head back and roars.
Brakk Bloodmaw points toward Mr. Mason and draws one thumb across his throat.
Count Daculescu applauds calmly.
Eddie Ellington: “The Crimson Maulers look magnificent. Focused, confident, and completely untroubled by this audience’s emotional instability.”
Johnny Michaels: “They look confident because Edie remains in the possession of the people who hired them.”
Celeste Orion leaves the ring.
Honest Abe checks both teams.
Mr. Mason steps forward for his side.
Brakk Bloodmaw insists on beginning for the Crimson Maulers.
The bell rings.
Minute 1
Mr. Mason charges immediately.
The calmness from his entrance gives way to focused anger as he drives repeated punches into Brakk Bloodmaw’s face.
Brakk Bloodmaw absorbs the first blows and answers with a knee to the abdomen.
Mr. Mason attempts to continue attacking, but Brakk Bloodmaw catches both arms and forces his opponent into position.
At ringside, Ace MacDougal calls toward Mr. Mason, urging him to slow down and remain focused on winning the match.
The momentary hesitation is enough.
Brakk Bloodmaw lifts Mr. Mason, traps his arms and legs, and drives him headfirst into the canvas with the Mauler Driver.
The crowd reacts in alarm.
Brakk Bloodmaw could attempt an immediate cover, but instead he rises and stares down at Mr. Mason.
He then walks toward the corner and tags Veyrik Nightclaw.
Johnny Michaels: “Mr. Mason allowed his anger to carry him directly into the Mauler Driver. Ace MacDougal was trying to remind him that the only objective tonight is victory.”
Eddie Ellington: “The fisherman is offering wrestling advice now. Perhaps Flippers can manage the finances.”
Johnny Michaels: “Brakk Bloodmaw had an opportunity to cover Mr. Mason, but he chose to continue inflicting damage.”
Eddie Ellington: “He is teaching the teacher.”
Minute 2
Veyrik Nightclaw enters and moves toward the injured Mr. Mason.
Mr. Mason suddenly catches him around the waist and drives him backward with the Rude Awakening.
The Lou Thesz Press carries both men to the canvas.
Mr. Mason attempts to deliver punches from the mount, but Veyrik Nightclaw twists underneath him and throws him aside.
Veyrik Nightclaw rolls toward the corner and climbs rapidly onto the top rope.
He launches himself for the Nightclaw Pounce.
Mr. Mason moves away at the last possible instant.
Veyrik Nightclaw lands on his feet but stumbles forward.
Mr. Mason reaches his corner and tags Negropolis.
Johnny Michaels: “Neither man completed the offense he wanted. Mr. Mason could not maintain the Rude Awakening, and Veyrik Nightclaw missed the Nightclaw Pounce.”
Eddie Ellington: “Mr. Mason escaped because he fled to the corner and hid behind Negropolis.”
Johnny Michaels: “That is called making a legal tag.”
Eddie Ellington: “It is called cowardice with rope assistance.”
Minute 3
Negropolis enters and collides with Veyrik Nightclaw in the center of the ring.
Negropolis gains the first advantage, forcing Veyrik Nightclaw backward and attempting to throw him over the top rope.
Veyrik Nightclaw catches the rope and remains on the apron.
As Negropolis reaches for him, Veyrik Nightclaw pulls the larger competitor forward and locks both arms around his torso.
He drags Negropolis against the ropes and traps him in the Wing Crusher.
The Bear Hug compresses Negropolis’s ribs.
Honest Abe asks for a submission.
Negropolis refuses.
He forces his arms between the grip and breaks the hold through raw strength.
Negropolis then catches Veyrik Nightclaw by the throat and shoulder and throws him over the top rope to the floor.
The crowd cheers.
Negropolis walks to his corner and tags Mr. Mason.
Outside the ring, Veyrik Nightclaw reaches Brakk Bloodmaw, who accepts the tag before entering.
Johnny Michaels: “Negropolis survived the Wing Crusher and completed the throw he attempted at the start of the exchange.”
Eddie Ellington: “Survived is correct. He did not escape through intelligence. He simply possesses the dimensions of a small building.”
Johnny Michaels: “Those dimensions may help bring Edie home.”
Eddie Ellington: “Nothing involving Negropolis improves a neighborhood.”
Minute 4
Brakk Bloodmaw enters as Mr. Mason charges toward him.
Brakk Bloodmaw throws the Bloodmaw Uppercut.
The strike catches Mr. Mason beneath the jaw, but he remains on his feet.
Mr. Mason answers by driving forward with another Rude Awakening.
He takes Brakk Bloodmaw to the canvas and lands several short punches before the Mauler pushes him away.
Brakk Bloodmaw rolls toward his corner and tags Veyrik Nightclaw.
Mr. Mason rises and gestures for the next opponent to enter.
Johnny Michaels: “Mr. Mason absorbed the Bloodmaw Uppercut and answered with the Rude Awakening. He is fighting with urgency, but he must remain controlled.”
Eddie Ellington: “He is throwing himself at people and hoping his cardigan provides strategic guidance.”
Johnny Michaels: “The cardigan was removed before the match.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then he has lost his greatest weapon.”
Minute 5
Veyrik Nightclaw enters and immediately traps Mr. Mason in the Wing Crusher.
Brakk Bloodmaw steps through the ropes before Honest Abe can stop him.
While Veyrik Nightclaw holds Mr. Mason in place, Brakk Bloodmaw charges and drives him down with the Fangbreaker Slam.
The Maulers attempt to continue their attack.
Mr. Mason rolls beneath Veyrik Nightclaw and drives his forearm between the legs with A Lesson They’ll Remember.
Veyrik Nightclaw collapses.
Honest Abe is occupied forcing Brakk Bloodmaw back toward the apron and does not see the low blow.
Mr. Mason crawls toward the ropes while Veyrik Nightclaw struggles to rise.
Johnny Michaels: “The Crimson Maulers used the Bear Hug to position Mr. Mason for the Fangbreaker Slam, but Mr. Mason retaliated with a low blow while the referee was removing Brakk Bloodmaw.”
Eddie Ellington: “There is the real Mr. Mason. He lectures everyone about behavior and then strikes a man below the belt.”
Johnny Michaels: “The Maulers were illegally double-teaming him.”
Eddie Ellington: “So rules matter only when Mr. Mason is losing.”
Minute 6
Veyrik Nightclaw remains down after the low blow.
Brakk Bloodmaw reaches through the ropes but cannot enter without risking disqualification.
Mr. Mason pulls himself upright.
He looks toward Count Daculescu.
Then he looks down at Veyrik Nightclaw.
Mr. Mason begins delivering repeated stomps to the chest, shoulders, and arms of the fallen Mauler.
Veyrik Nightclaw attempts to cover himself.
Brakk Bloodmaw shouts from the apron.
Honest Abe warns Mr. Mason to allow his opponent to stand.
Mr. Mason delivers one final stomp before stepping away.
Johnny Michaels: “Mr. Mason is targeting Veyrik Nightclaw with those repeated stomps, and his anger is beginning to surface again.”
Eddie Ellington: “Beginning? He has behaved like a lunatic since the bell rang.”
Johnny Michaels: “This is the man who helped take his wife.”
Eddie Ellington: “That does not give Mr. Mason the right to ignore every rule he finds inconvenient.”
Minute 7
Mr. Mason reaches down to pull Veyrik Nightclaw upright.
The Mauler suddenly grips him by the arm and shoulder.
Veyrik Nightclaw turns and launches Mr. Mason across the ring with the Talon Biel Throw.
Mr. Mason lands hard near his own corner.
He reaches upward and tags Negropolis.
Veyrik Nightclaw remains in the ring, watching the larger opponent enter.
Johnny Michaels: “The Talon Biel Throw sent Mr. Mason nearly the full width of the ring, but it also placed him close enough to make the tag.”
Eddie Ellington: “Another fortunate escape for Mr. Mason. His greatest skill is landing near Negropolis.”
Minute 8
Negropolis enters and moves cautiously toward Veyrik Nightclaw.
The two competitors reach for control, but neither establishes an immediate advantage.
Count Daculescu walks slowly along the floor behind Negropolis.
As Honest Abe adjusts his position to keep Veyrik Nightclaw in view, Count Daculescu reaches through the ropes and drives the head of his cane into Negropolis’s lower back.
Negropolis lurches forward.
Veyrik Nightclaw attacks immediately, driving repeated forearms into the side of his head before forcing him against the turnbuckles.
Count Daculescu returns calmly to his corner before Honest Abe turns.
Negropolis breaks away and reaches Mr. Mason.
Veyrik Nightclaw tags Brakk Bloodmaw.
Johnny Michaels: “A blatant cheap shot from Count Daculescu. He struck Negropolis from behind and handed control to Veyrik Nightclaw.”
Eddie Ellington: “I saw Negropolis lose his balance. A man that large creates considerable gravitational problems.”
Johnny Michaels: “The cane struck him in the back.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is your interpretation.”
Johnny Michaels: “It is what happened.”
Minute 9
Mr. Mason and Brakk Bloodmaw enter simultaneously.
Brakk Bloodmaw catches Mr. Mason and drives him toward the canvas with the Mauler’s Grind, forcing a forearm across his face while grinding his head and neck against the mat.
Mr. Mason reaches upward and claws at the grip.
He twists beneath Brakk Bloodmaw and again delivers A Lesson They’ll Remember.
The low blow breaks the hold.
Brakk Bloodmaw rolls away in pain and reaches his corner.
He tags Veyrik Nightclaw.
Johnny Michaels: “Mr. Mason resorted to the low blow for a second time, but it allowed him to escape the Mauler’s Grind.”
Eddie Ellington: “He is a hypocrite. He calls this a lesson because admitting that he cheats would ruin his self-righteous little performance.”
Johnny Michaels: “The Crimson Maulers and Count Daculescu have hardly competed honorably.”
Eddie Ellington: “They have never pretended to be schoolteachers.”
Minute 10
Veyrik Nightclaw enters and immediately attacks Mr. Mason with jumping stomps.
Brakk Bloodmaw returns through the ropes and pulls Mr. Mason upright.
The larger Mauler hooks both arms and launches him overhead with the Beartrap.
Mr. Mason crashes onto his back.
As Brakk Bloodmaw steps away, Mr. Mason catches Veyrik Nightclaw by the ankle and pulls him down.
He rises over the Mauler and begins delivering repeated stomps.
Honest Abe orders Brakk Bloodmaw from the ring while attempting to separate Mr. Mason from Veyrik Nightclaw.
Johnny Michaels: “The Crimson Maulers are using the referee’s count to maintain another extended double-team attack.”
Eddie Ellington: “They are using teamwork. That is the purpose of having a partner.”
Johnny Michaels: “Only one partner is permitted in the ring.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then perhaps Honest Abe should improve his crowd-control skills.”
Minute 11
Before order can be restored, Veyrik Nightclaw rises and locks Mr. Mason in the Wing Crusher.
Brakk Bloodmaw steps back inside.
Veyrik Nightclaw holds Mr. Mason in place while Brakk Bloodmaw forces him into position for another Mauler Driver.
The Package Piledriver drives Mr. Mason’s head and shoulders into the canvas.
Veyrik Nightclaw moves toward the apron, but Mr. Mason reaches for his leg.
Still on the canvas, Mr. Mason kicks and stomps repeatedly at the Mauler’s knee until Veyrik Nightclaw falls against the ropes.
Honest Abe finally forces Brakk Bloodmaw back to his corner.
Johnny Michaels: “A second Mauler Driver has left Mr. Mason barely able to defend himself.”
Eddie Ellington: “This is the lesson he promised. The lesson is that speeches do not protect your neck from a Package Piledriver.”
Johnny Michaels: “The Crimson Maulers are punishing him, but Mr. Mason continues fighting.”
Eddie Ellington: “He continues behaving irrationally.”
Minute 12
Mr. Mason uses the ropes to stand.
Veyrik Nightclaw moves toward him and reaches for another Wing Crusher.
Mr. Mason drives forward for the Rude Awakening.
Veyrik Nightclaw widens his stance and blocks the takedown.
He attempts to close his arms around Mr. Mason, but Mr. Mason strikes both sides of his head and prevents the Bear Hug.
The two separate.
Mr. Mason turns and dives toward his corner.
He tags Negropolis.
Johnny Michaels: “Neither man completed his move, but Mr. Mason created enough separation to reach Negropolis.”
Eddie Ellington: “Naturally. Whenever the consequences of his behavior arrive, he delegates them to the giant.”
Minute 13
Negropolis enters and strikes Veyrik Nightclaw with a Thrust Kick.
The force sends the Mauler backward.
Brakk Bloodmaw enters to protect his partner.
Mr. Mason follows him into the ring.
All four competitors begin fighting.
Mr. Mason knocks Brakk Bloodmaw down and drives a pointed elbow into his chest with A Little Encouragement.
Across the ring, Veyrik Nightclaw catches Negropolis and sends him flying with the Talon Biel Throw.
Brakk Bloodmaw rises behind Mr. Mason, traps his arms and legs, and delivers a third Mauler Driver.
Mr. Mason collapses near the ropes.
Honest Abe desperately orders both illegal competitors back to their corners.
Johnny Michaels: “All four men entered, and the exchange ended with Mr. Mason suffering a third Mauler Driver.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is three separate demonstrations of why he should stop provoking professionals.”
Johnny Michaels: “Negropolis connected with the Thrust Kick, but he could not protect Mr. Mason from Brakk Bloodmaw.”
Eddie Ellington: “Nobody can protect Mr. Mason from his own decisions. Not Negropolis, not that washed-up fisherman, and certainly not the waddling nuisance at ringside.”
Minute 14
Negropolis remains legal with Veyrik Nightclaw.
He pulls the Mauler away from the ropes and drives him into the canvas with the Black Doom.
Veyrik Nightclaw lies motionless.
Negropolis covers him.
Before Honest Abe can begin the count, Count Daculescu raises both hands.
The arena lights flicker crimson.
Three distorted images of Count Daculescu appear around ringside.
Honest Abe turns in confusion, attempting to determine which figure is real.
The illusion lasts only seconds, but it prevents the count.
Negropolis rises and stares toward the manager.
By the time the lights stabilize, Veyrik Nightclaw has rolled away from danger.
Negropolis returns to his corner and tags Mr. Mason.
Johnny Michaels: “Negropolis had the match won. The Black Doom left Veyrik Nightclaw defenseless, but Count Daculescu’s illusion prevented Honest Abe from counting.”
Eddie Ellington: “The referee became distracted by arena lighting. That is not Count Daculescu’s responsibility.”
Johnny Michaels: “There were three images of him surrounding the ring.”
Eddie Ellington: “A strong visual presentation benefits everyone.”
Minute 15
Mr. Mason enters despite the damage from three Mauler Drivers.
He moves toward Veyrik Nightclaw, but his balance is unsteady.
The Mauler catches him and locks both arms around his body.
Veyrik Nightclaw lifts Mr. Mason from the canvas and tightens the Wing Crusher.
Honest Abe asks whether Mr. Mason submits.
Mr. Mason shakes his head.
He reaches toward his corner but remains several feet away.
Veyrik Nightclaw increases the pressure.
Mr. Mason’s body begins to weaken, but he continues stretching one arm toward Negropolis.
Ace MacDougal pounds the apron and calls for him to keep moving.
Flippers strikes both flippers against the floor as the crowd begins chanting.
MASON! MASON! MASON!
Mr. Mason forces himself forward one step at a time.
His fingertips finally touch Negropolis’s hand.
The tag is made.
Veyrik Nightclaw releases the hold.
Mr. Mason falls through the ropes and collapses onto the arena floor in pain.
At the same moment, Veyrik Nightclaw tags Brakk Bloodmaw.
Johnny Michaels: “Mr. Mason refused to submit and somehow reached Negropolis, but he has collapsed outside the ring.”
Eddie Ellington: “There is the inevitable conclusion of his lesson. He has left Negropolis alone while he lies beside Ace MacDougal and that useless bird.”
Johnny Michaels: “He endured the Wing Crusher long enough to make the tag.”
Eddie Ellington: “And now his partner must pay for it.”
Minute 16
Negropolis enters and charges toward Brakk Bloodmaw.
The Mauler avoids the first strike and drives a knee into Negropolis’s abdomen.
Negropolis attempts to regain his balance.
Brakk Bloodmaw hooks one arm around his head and captures the leg.
With a tremendous effort, Brakk Bloodmaw lifts the larger competitor and drives him into the canvas with the Bloodmoon Driver.
The Michinoku Driver shakes the ring.
Brakk Bloodmaw folds Negropolis’s legs over his shoulders and holds him against the canvas.
Honest Abe counts one … Two … THREE! The bell rings.
A stunned silence falls across Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
Brakk Bloodmaw releases Negropolis and rises.
Veyrik Nightclaw enters the ring and stands beside his partner.
At ringside, Mr. Mason remains on the floor with Ace MacDougal kneeling beside him.
Flippers stands close to Mr. Mason, looking toward the ring.
Count Daculescu steps onto the apron with a satisfied smile.
Johnny Michaels: “The Crimson Maulers have won the Saving Edie Match. Brakk Bloodmaw has pinned Negropolis after the Bloodmoon Driver.”
Eddie Ellington: “Exactly as they should have. Mr. Mason brought his neighborhood circus into a match against two professional predators, and now he must live with the result.”
Johnny Michaels: “The involvement of Count Daculescu was decisive. His cheap shot injured Negropolis, and his illusion prevented a count after the Black Doom.”
Eddie Ellington: “Excuses. Negropolis was pinned in the middle of the ring. Mr. Mason is on the floor. Ace MacDougal contributed nothing, and Flippers remains a flightless embarrassment.”
Celeste Orion enters the ring.
Honest Abe raises the arms of the Crimson Maulers.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winners, Brakk Bloodmaw and Veyrik Nightclaw, the Crimson Maulers.”
The crowd erupts in furious boos.
Brakk Bloodmaw and Veyrik Nightclaw stand over Negropolis.
Count Daculescu enters between them and looks toward Mr. Mason.
Mr. Mason pulls himself upright against the apron.
His face is twisted with pain, but his eyes remain fixed on Count Daculescu.
Johnny Michaels: “This was about much more than victory. Mr. Mason entered believing that defeating the Crimson Maulers would bring Edie home.”
Eddie Ellington: “Belief has failed him. His lesson is over.”
Johnny Michaels: “The official match has ended, but everyone inside this building is waiting to see what happens now.”
CRIMSON MAULERS DEFEAT MR. MASON AND NEGROPOLIS VIA PINFALL AT THE 16:00 MINUTE MARK.
The bell has stopped ringing, but the result remains suspended over Scrooge’s Glacier Plex like a weight.
Mr. Mason is still on his knees beside the ring.
One hand rests against the floor. The other is pressed against his ribs where the Wing Crusher compressed his body moments earlier.
Ace MacDougal kneels beside him, one hand against his shoulder and the other gripping the edge of the apron.
Flippers stands close against Mr. Mason’s side, looking between him and the ring.
Ace MacDougal: “Easy, Jack. Stay down for a second. Catch your breath.”
Mr. Mason does not answer.
Inside the ring, Negropolis rolls onto one side after the Bloodmoon Driver.
He reaches for the middle rope.
His first attempt to rise fails.
The crowd begins applauding, urging him upward.
Negropolis grips the rope again and pulls himself onto one knee. He raises his head and looks toward the entrance ramp.
Count Daculescu has already left the ring.
He walks between the Crimson Maulers, his long black coat trailing behind him.
Brakk Bloodmaw glances back toward Mr. Mason and smiles.
Veyrik Nightclaw spreads his arms toward the hostile audience and releases another victorious roar.
The crowd answers with furious jeers.
Johnny Michaels: “Look at Count Daculescu. He knows exactly what his involvement accomplished. Without that illusion, Negropolis may have pinned Veyrik Nightclaw after the Black Doom.”
Eddie Ellington: “The match is over, Johnny. Continuing to invent alternate endings will not bring Edie home.”
Johnny Michaels: “That is precisely what this loss means. Mr. Mason and Negropolis did not satisfy the condition for Edie’s release.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then perhaps Mr. Mason should have spent less time delivering lessons and more time preparing to win.”
Count Daculescu reaches the top of the ramp.
He stops beneath the Polar Meltdown logo.
The Crimson Maulers take position on either side of him.
All three turn back toward the ring.
At ringside, Mr. Mason raises his head.
His eyes lock onto Count Daculescu.
Ace MacDougal: “Jack, don’t give him what he wants.”
Count Daculescu gives Mr. Mason a slow, formal bow.
Then the video wall abruptly goes black.
The arena lights dim.
A burst of static tears across the screen.
Count Daculescu’s smile widens.
He turns toward the video wall as though he has been expecting this.
The static clears.
A poorly illuminated room appears on the screen.
The walls are made of dark stone. A single blue light hangs from somewhere above, swinging slowly and causing long shadows to move across the floor.
At the center of the picture is Dr. Edie Hartwell Mason.
She is tied tightly to a wooden chair.
Rope binds her wrists behind her back and circles her upper body. A dark cloth has been secured across her mouth.
Her hair is disheveled.
Her eyes are wide with terror.
The entire arena reacts at once.
Johnny Michaels: “Oh, no.”
The camera cuts to Mr. Mason.
He is no longer looking at Count Daculescu.
He stares only at the image of his wife.
Ace MacDougal slowly rises beside him.
Inside the ring, Negropolis pulls himself fully upright.
Flippers presses closer to Mr. Mason’s leg.
On the screen, Edie struggles against the ropes.
The chair scrapes across the stone floor.
She attempts to call out through the gag, but only a muffled sound escapes.
A low laugh comes from somewhere beyond the camera.
The sound is quiet at first.
It grows louder.
Controlled.
Confident.
The light behind Edie flickers.
A man steps into view.
He is dressed in dark blue and black.
His ring attire is elegant rather than ceremonial, cut with sharp silver details along the chest and arms. A long black coat rests over his shoulders.
A dark mask conceals much of his face.
Only his eyes are visible.
He stops behind Edie’s chair.
One gloved hand rests against the top of it.
Johnny Michaels: “Who is that?”
Eddie Ellington: “Someone with excellent timing.”
Johnny Michaels: “A terrified woman is tied to a chair.”
Eddie Ellington: “I am describing the entrance, not endorsing the furniture arrangement.”
The masked man looks directly into the camera.
Master of the Night: “Good evening, Jack.”
The crowd boos.
Mr. Mason’s expression does not change.
His breathing slows.
Master of the Night: “You may call me the Master of the Night.”
He moves around the chair until he stands beside Edie.
She turns away from him as far as the restraints allow.
Master of the Night: “I have heard so much about you.”
His voice carries cultured amusement.
Master of the Night: “The devoted husband.”
He looks down at Edie.
Master of the Night: “The patient teacher.”
His masked face turns back toward the camera.
Master of the Night: “The man who promised that love would bring his wife home.”
At ringside, Ace MacDougal looks toward Mr. Mason.
Mr. Mason remains on his knees, staring upward.
Master of the Night: “But when the moment arrived, Jack, your love proved insufficient.”
The crowd grows louder.
Master of the Night: “You were given a simple condition.”
He raises one finger.
Master of the Night: “Win.”
The finger lowers.
Master of the Night: “That was all.”
He slowly walks behind Edie’s chair again.
Master of the Night: “Defeat two men.”
Master of the Night: “Secure her freedom.”
Master of the Night: “Demonstrate that she mattered enough for you to succeed.”
Johnny Michaels: “That is vile. Mr. Mason was fighting against two men who abducted his wife, while Count Daculescu interfered repeatedly.”
Eddie Ellington: “The contract did not award points for effort. Mr. Mason lost.”
Master of the Night: “Yet you failed.”
Edie begins struggling more violently.
The chair rocks beneath her.
The Master of the Night places one hand against her shoulder and pushes the chair firmly back onto all four legs.
Master of the Night: “Please, doctor.”
His voice is almost soothing.
Master of the Night: “You will injure yourself.”
Edie glares at him.
Master of the Night looks toward the camera once more.
Master of the Night: “Perhaps I misunderstood the depth of your devotion, Jack.”
He tilts his head.
Master of the Night: “Perhaps your love for Edie is weak.”
A roar of anger erupts from the audience.
Ace MacDougal: “Don’t listen to him, Jack.”
Mr. Mason does not look away from the screen.
Master of the Night: “Perhaps she has waited long enough for a husband who cannot reach her.”
He moves closer to Edie.
She recoils against the chair.
Master of the Night: “Perhaps what she requires is someone capable of protecting what he claims.”
The masked man reaches down.
He places one hand beneath Edie’s chin.
She jerks her head away.
His fingers tighten just enough to hold her in place.
He slowly turns her face toward the camera.
Edie’s eyes fill the screen.
She tries desperately to speak through the gag.
Her voice remains muffled and indistinct.
Master of the Night: “Look at your husband, Edie.”
She shakes her head against his grip.
Master of the Night: “Let him see what his failure has preserved.”
At ringside, Mr. Mason rises from one knee.
Ace MacDougal reaches toward him, but stops before touching him.
Master of the Night: “You entered this evening as Mrs. Mason.”
The masked man leans closer to Edie.
Master of the Night: “But the night changes those who remain within it.”
His eyes lift toward the camera.
Master of the Night: “Perhaps, in time, Edie will become my Mistress of the Night.”
The arena explodes with furious boos.
Johnny Michaels: “No. This is a threat against Edie Hartwell Mason, and someone must locate where this transmission is coming from.”
Eddie Ellington: “I agree that the proposal requires further discussion, but Mr. Mason was warned that losing would have consequences.”
Johnny Michaels: “You agree with nothing about this. A woman has been bound and terrorized.”
Eddie Ellington: “I did not say I approved. I said Mr. Mason failed to prevent it.”
The Master of the Night continues holding Edie’s chin toward the camera.
She looks terrified.
Then her eyes shift.
She appears to look beyond the camera toward something elsewhere in the room.
Her struggle becomes more frantic.
Master of the Night: “Do not worry, Jack.”
His masked face moves closer to hers.
Master of the Night: “She will be treated with every consideration her new station deserves.”
Edie attempts to shout through the gag.
Master of the Night: “You had your opportunity to reclaim her.”
He releases her chin.
Her head drops forward as she breathes rapidly.
The Master of the Night places both hands against the back of the chair.
Master of the Night: “You failed.”
He leans toward the camera.
Master of the Night: “Now the lesson belongs to me.”
The screen goes black.
The transmission ends.
For several seconds, there is no commentary.
No music.
Only the sound of the crowd and the fading static from the video wall.
Mr. Mason is standing now.
His shoulders are straight.
His face is completely still.
The pain from the match appears forgotten.
Ace MacDougal moves in front of him.
Ace MacDougal: “Jack.”
There is no answer.
Ace MacDougal: “Jack, look at me.”
Mr. Mason continues staring at the black screen.
Inside the ring, Negropolis steps over the top rope and drops to the floor.
He approaches slowly.
Negropolis: “Mason.”
Mr. Mason lowers his eyes.
His left hand closes around his wedding ring.
He turns it once.
Then he releases it.
Ace MacDougal: “We’ll find her. We’ll find where they’re keeping her, and we’ll bring her home.”
Mr. Mason looks toward the entrance ramp.
Count Daculescu and the Crimson Maulers are gone.
The top of the ramp stands empty.
Mr. Mason begins walking.
Ace MacDougal: “Jack, wait.”
Mr. Mason does not slow down.
He steps around the edge of the ring and starts up the ramp.
His pace is not frantic.
It is deliberate.
Each step measured.
Each movement controlled.
Flippers hurries after him.
Ace MacDougal follows, calling out again.
Ace MacDougal: “Jack, you can’t go after them alone.”
Negropolis walks behind them, still holding his ribs after the Bloodmoon Driver.
Negropolis: “Mason.”
There is still no response.
The camera moves ahead of the group and turns back toward Mr. Mason.
His expression remains stoic.
There are no tears.
No visible rage.
No panic.
Only a terrible, fixed concentration.
Johnny Michaels: “I do not know who that masked man is, but he has threatened Edie Hartwell Mason and directly challenged her husband.”
Eddie Ellington: “He called himself the Master of the Night, and unlike Mr. Mason, he appears to understand the value of presentation.”
Johnny Michaels: “This is not presentation. This is cruelty.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then perhaps Mr. Mason should stop pretending every problem can be solved with a calm voice and a lesson plan.”
Johnny Michaels: “Look at him, Eddie.”
The camera tightens on Mr. Mason as he continues up the ramp.
Johnny Michaels: “There is something different in his eyes.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is what happens when a man finally understands he has lost.”
Johnny Michaels: “I do not believe Mr. Mason thinks this is over.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then he is an even slower learner than I thought.”
Mr. Mason reaches the top of the ramp.
He stops beneath the Polar Meltdown logo.
Ace MacDougal, Negropolis, and Flippers gather behind him.
Ace MacDougal: “Jack, talk to us.”
For the first time, Mr. Mason responds.
He does not turn around.
His voice is quiet.
Mr. Mason: “Class is not dismissed.”
He steps through the curtain.
Ace MacDougal immediately follows.
Flippers disappears behind him.
Negropolis takes one final look toward the black video wall before entering the backstage area after them.
Johnny Michaels: “The Saving Edie Match has ended in defeat, but this conflict has entered something far more dangerous.”
Eddie Ellington: “Mr. Mason promised a lesson. Instead, the Crimson Maulers, Count Daculescu, and the Master of the Night taught him one.”
Johnny Michaels: “The question now is what Mr. Mason will do with it.”
“Class Is Not Dismissed”
The camera follows Mr. Mason through the curtain.
The roar of Scrooge’s Glacier Plex becomes muffled the instant he enters the backstage corridor. The bright arena lights give way to harsh fluorescent panels overhead. Production staff, security personnel, and medical workers turn as he passes.
No one speaks at first.
Mr. Mason walks with measured steps.
Not fast. Not slow. Measured.
Ace MacDougal follows close behind, still breathing hard, one arm tucked protectively around Flippers. Negropolis comes after them, moving with visible pain after the Bloodmoon Driver, one hand pressed against his ribs beneath the black edge of his coat.
Ace MacDougal: “Jack. Lad. Stop for one second.”
Mr. Mason does not stop.
A young production assistant steps into the hall holding a headset and tablet. He sees Mr. Mason approaching and freezes.
Production Assistant: “Mr. Mason, I—I’m so sorry, we don’t know how the feed—”
Mr. Mason stops directly in front of him.
The assistant shrinks backward.
Mr. Mason’s face remains calm.
Mr. Mason: “What is your name, neighbor?”
The assistant blinks, terrified by the softness.
Production Assistant: “E-Eli. Eli Sparks.”
Mr. Mason nods.
Mr. Mason: “Hello, Eli.”
A beat.
Mr. Mason: “Who had access to the video wall?”
Eli looks around helplessly.
Eli Sparks: “I don’t know. Production, broadcast, truck crew, arena techs, maybe security override. I’m not the senior operator.”
Mr. Mason: “That’s all right.”
He leans slightly closer.
Mr. Mason: “Who is?”
Eli swallows.
Eli Sparks: “Marta. Marta Venn. She runs the live feed desk.”
Mr. Mason: “Where is Marta?”
Eli points down the hallway.
Eli Sparks: “Production room three. But security already locked it down.”
Mr. Mason gives the smallest polite smile.
Mr. Mason: “Thank you, Eli. That was helpful.”
He starts walking again. Ace hurries after him.
Ace MacDougal: “Jack, I know what ye’re thinking, and I promise ye, we’ll get the answers. But ye cannae just march through the building interrogating everyone with a pulse.”
Mr. Mason glances down at Flippers.
Mr. Mason: “Flippers has a pulse.”
Ace instinctively pulls Flippers closer.
Ace MacDougal: “Aye, and he’s nae getting interrogated either.”
Flippers chirps softly. Mr. Mason stops at a junction in the hallway.
To the left: locker rooms. To the right: production. Straight ahead: loading docks.
For a moment, he simply studies the signs.
Negropolis catches up, breathing through pain.
Negropolis: “Daculescu will be gone.”
Mr. Mason does not turn.
Mr. Mason: “Yes.”
Negropolis: “The Maulers too.”
Mr. Mason: “Yes.”
Negropolis: “Then where are you going?”
Mr. Mason looks toward the production corridor.
Mr. Mason: “To the chalkboard.”
Ace and Negropolis exchange a glance. Neither likes the sound of that. They follow.
The camera moves with them down the production hallway. Staff step aside as Mr. Mason approaches. Some whisper. Some stare at the wedding ring on his hand. Others look away, ashamed or afraid.
At the door marked PRODUCTION ROOM 3, two North Pole security officers stand guard.
One raises a hand.
Security Officer: “Mr. Mason, this room is restricted.”
Mr. Mason stops. He does not argue. He does not shove. He simply looks at the officer’s hand. Then at the officer.
Mr. Mason: “That is a very responsible hand.”
The officer frowns.
Security Officer: “Excuse me?”
Mr. Mason: “You put it up to make a boundary. Boundaries are important.”
A pause.
Mr. Mason: “Now please lower it before I become impatient.”
The officer’s hand slowly drops. Before anything else can happen, a sharper voice cuts through the hallway.
Elias Coldmere: “That will not be necessary.”
Elias Coldmere enters from the far end of the corridor, flanked by two senior security officials and a woman from broadcast operations. His suit is immaculate despite the chaos around him. His expression is controlled, professional, and just stern enough to command attention.
He stops several feet from Mr. Mason.
Elias Coldmere: “Mr. Mason.”
Mr. Mason turns toward him.
Mr. Mason: “Mr. Coldmere.”
The two men stare at one another.
Ace looks relieved and worried at the same time.
Negropolis watches Coldmere with narrowed eyes.
Elias Coldmere: “I understand your concern.”
Mr. Mason’s faint smile disappears.
Mr. Mason: “No.”
A beat.
Mr. Mason: “You don’t.”
The hallway falls silent. Coldmere’s eyes cool, but his voice remains diplomatic.
Elias Coldmere: “Perhaps not personally. Professionally, however, I understand that a live event broadcast was compromised, a criminal threat was aired inside my building, and a member of the NPCW family remains in danger.”
Mr. Mason: “My wife.”
Elias Coldmere: “Yes. Your wife.”
Mr. Mason studies him.
Mr. Mason: “And my sister.”
Elias Coldmere: “And Polly Mason.”
Negropolis shifts at that.
Coldmere turns to the production door.
Elias Coldmere: “Production Room Three has been sealed. Every console, feed log, and backup recording is being preserved. No one enters until technical security has finished the first-pass review.”
Mr. Mason looks past him toward the door.
Mr. Mason: “Someone used your screen.”
Elias Coldmere: “Yes.”
Mr. Mason: “Someone used your signal.”
Elias Coldmere: “Yes.”
Mr. Mason: “Someone used your house to frighten my wife.”
Coldmere does not answer immediately. That pause is small. Almost nothing. But Negropolis notices it.
Elias Coldmere: “That is precisely why this must be handled correctly.”
Mr. Mason takes one slow step closer.
Mr. Mason: “Correctly is a very important word.”
Elias Coldmere: “It is.”
Mr. Mason: “So is quickly.”
Ace moves slightly to Mr. Mason’s side.
Ace MacDougal: “Elias, ye have to give us something. Where did the signal come from? Was it outside? Inside? Was it on delay? Did someone trace the room?”
The broadcast operations woman checks her tablet nervously. Coldmere lifts one hand to stop her from speaking too soon. Mr. Mason notices. So does Negropolis.
Elias Coldmere: “We do not have verified answers yet.”
Mr. Mason: “That is not a very helpful answer, neighbor.”
Coldmere’s jaw tightens faintly at the word neighbor.
Elias Coldmere: “It is the only answer I am prepared to give until the information is confirmed.”
Mr. Mason tilts his head.
Mr. Mason: “Prepared.”
A pause.
Mr. Mason: “That is also an interesting word.”
For the first time, Coldmere’s professional mask shows a hairline crack of annoyance.
Elias Coldmere: “Mr. Mason, I am not your opponent tonight.”
Mr. Mason smiles gently.
Mr. Mason: “Not tonight.”
Ace’s eyes widen slightly. Negropolis says nothing.
Coldmere studies Mr. Mason for a long beat, then turns to the senior security official beside him.
Elias Coldmere: “Tell him what we know.”
The official straightens.
Senior Security Official: “The video interruption was routed through an old auxiliary broadcast line. It should have been disabled years ago. Someone reactivated it remotely.”
Ace MacDougal: “Remotely from where?”
Senior Security Official: “That’s the problem. The source bounced through multiple points. We’re still tracing.”
Negropolis: “Multiple points.”
He steps forward slightly.
Negropolis: “That requires preparation.”
Senior Security Official: “Yes.”
Negropolis: “And access.”
The security official hesitates. Coldmere answers before he can.
Elias Coldmere: “Or someone with advanced technical resources.”
Negropolis looks at Coldmere.
Negropolis: “Convenient distinction.”
Coldmere meets his stare evenly.
Elias Coldmere: “Accurate distinction.”
Mr. Mason turns back to the production door.
Mr. Mason: “Who knew about the auxiliary line?”
The broadcast woman shifts uncomfortably. Coldmere glances at her. This time, he allows her to answer.
Broadcast Operations Woman: “Older production staff. Arena engineers. Some security administrators. Former management. It’s not common knowledge, but it isn’t impossible to find if someone had old schematics.”
Mr. Mason: “Who requested the old schematics recently?”
The woman looks down at her tablet. Coldmere speaks before she can scroll.
Elias Coldmere: “That information will be included in the investigation.”
Mr. Mason looks at him again.
Mr. Mason: “I asked her.”
The hallway tightens. Coldmere’s voice lowers.
Elias Coldmere: “And I am answering as General Manager.”
Ace steps in quickly, trying to keep the temperature down.
Ace MacDougal: “Easy. Everybody easy. We all want the same thing.”
Negropolis does not take his eyes off Coldmere.
Negropolis: “Do we?”
Coldmere’s gaze flicks to Negropolis.
Elias Coldmere: “Careful.”
Negropolis: “I am.”
Mr. Mason lifts one hand gently. The gesture silences them both.
Mr. Mason: “Big feelings.”
He looks from Negropolis to Coldmere.
Mr. Mason: “Everyone is having big feelings.”
Coldmere exhales.
Elias Coldmere: “Mr. Mason, I am assigning security teams to review the loading docks, the production rooms, and Daculescu’s known movements after the match. I am also contacting the North Pole authorities and forwarding the video feed to technical analysis.”
Mr. Mason: “That sounds organized.”
Elias Coldmere: “It is.”
Mr. Mason: “May I see the exit logs?”
Elias Coldmere: “No.”
Ace grimaces. Negropolis steps closer. Mr. Mason’s smile remains polite.
Mr. Mason: “Why?”
Elias Coldmere: “Because this is now an active security matter, and you are emotionally compromised.”
For several seconds, no one breathes. Ace looks down.
Flippers chirps nervously. Mr. Mason’s eyes drop to his wedding ring. He turns it once. Then he looks back at Coldmere.
Mr. Mason: “That is a very reasonable concern.”
Coldmere’s posture relaxes half an inch. Then Mr. Mason continues.
Mr. Mason: “But you are mistaken.”
Coldmere says nothing.
Mr. Mason: “I am not compromised.”
A pause.
Mr. Mason: “I am focused.”
That lands colder than any shout could have. Coldmere studies him carefully.
Elias Coldmere: “Then focus on staying out of my way.”
Mr. Mason nods.
Mr. Mason: “I will not be in your way.”
He looks toward the production door.
Mr. Mason: “I will be beside it.”
Coldmere’s eyes narrow.
Mr. Mason: “Watching.”
The senior security officials shift uneasily. Ace places a hand gently on Mr. Mason’s shoulder.
Ace MacDougal: “Jack…”
Mr. Mason turns toward him. His voice softens.
Mr. Mason: “Ace, please take Flippers somewhere quiet.”
Flippers looks up quickly. Ace frowns.
Ace MacDougal: “I’m not leaving ye.”
Mr. Mason: “That was not what I asked.”
Ace swallows. Mr. Mason crouches slightly and looks at Flippers.
Mr. Mason: “Little neighbor, you were very brave tonight.”
Flippers chirps quietly. Mr. Mason gently strokes the top of his head.
Mr. Mason: “But this room is not for you.”
He looks back to Ace.
Mr. Mason: “Please.”
Ace’s expression breaks a little.
Ace MacDougal: “Aye. Just for a few minutes.”
He lifts Flippers carefully.
Ace MacDougal: “Come on, wee lad. Let’s get you some fish and pretend the grown folk have sense.”
Flippers chirps once, worriedly, as Ace carries him down the hall. Mr. Mason watches them go.
Then he stands. Negropolis remains at his side. Coldmere gestures to the security officials.
Elias Coldmere: “Begin the lockdown review. I want reports every ten minutes.”
The officials move toward the production room. Coldmere starts to walk away, but Mr. Mason speaks.
Mr. Mason: “Mr. Coldmere.”
Coldmere stops.
Mr. Mason: “When you find the fingerprints in your house…”
A pause.
Mr. Mason: “Do not wipe them away.”
Coldmere turns back slowly.
Elias Coldmere: “Are you accusing me of something?”
Mr. Mason smiles gently.
Mr. Mason: “No.”
Another pause.
Mr. Mason: “I’m giving you a chance to be helpful.”
Coldmere’s expression becomes unreadable.
Elias Coldmere: “I suggest you choose your words carefully.”
Mr. Mason: “I do now.”
Silence. Negropolis glances between them. Coldmere adjusts his cuff.
Elias Coldmere: “You will receive information when I have something verified.”
Mr. Mason:“That would be kind.”
Coldmere leaves. The camera stays with Mr. Mason and Negropolis outside Production Room Three. For a moment, neither speaks. Then Negropolis leans slightly toward Mr. Mason.
Negropolis: “He is hiding something.”
Mr. Mason watches Coldmere disappear around the corner.
Mr. Mason: “Most people are.”
Negropolis: “You noticed.”
Mr. Mason: “Yes.”
Negropolis studies him.
Negropolis: “And?”
Mr. Mason turns back toward the sealed production door.
His voice is calm.
Mr. Mason: “Tonight we learn who had the chalk.”
Negropolis pauses.
Negropolis: “The chalk.”
Mr. Mason: “You cannot write a lesson on the board without chalk.”
Negropolis stares at him for a second longer than usual.
Negropolis: “You are becoming deeply unsettling.”
Mr. Mason’s faint smile returns.
Mr. Mason: “Thank you.”
The door to Production Room Three opens. Two security officials exit with a technician between them, a nervous man wearing a headset around his neck. He is pale, sweating, and trying not to look at Mr. Mason. Mr. Mason notices. The technician looks away too quickly. Mr. Mason steps into his path. The security officials tense.
Security Official: “Mr. Mason, step back.”
Mr. Mason does not move. He looks only at the technician.
Mr. Mason: “Hello, neighbor.”
The technician swallows.
Technician: “I didn’t do anything.”
Mr. Mason’s head tilts slightly.
Mr. Mason: “That’s a very interesting first sentence.”
The technician’s mouth opens. No words come out. Negropolis steps behind him, blocking the hall without appearing to move much at all. Mr. Mason’s voice remains soft.
Mr. Mason: “What is your name?”
Technician: “R-Randall.”
Mr. Mason:“Hello, Randall.”
A pause.
Mr. Mason: “Randall, someone used a screen tonight to show my wife tied to a chair.”
Randall’s breathing quickens.
Mr. Mason: “That made everyone feel very scared.”
Randall looks toward the security officials.
Technician Randall: “I already told them I don’t know who patched the auxiliary line.”
Mr. Mason smiles faintly.
Mr. Mason: “There it is again.”
Technician Randall: “What?”
Mr. Mason: “A first answer to a question no one asked you.”
Randall goes still. Negropolis lowers his voice.
Negropolis: “Careless.”
The security official steps in.
Security Official: “That’s enough. He is being taken for questioning.”
Mr. Mason nods politely.
Mr. Mason: “That’s good.”
He leans closer to Randall, not touching him.
Mr. Mason: “Questions are how we learn.”
Randall trembles.
Mr. Mason: “And Randall?”
The technician looks at him.
Mr. Mason: “If you know something about the person who frightened my wife…”
A pause. The softness leaves Mr. Mason’s eyes.
Mr. Mason: “You should raise your hand before class begins.”
Randall says nothing. The security officials escort him away. Negropolis watches them go.
Negropolis: “He knows something.”
Mr. Mason: “Yes.”
Negropolis: “Do we follow?”
Mr. Mason looks down the corridor where Coldmere left. Then toward the hallway where Ace took Flippers. Then back to the sealed production room.
Mr. Mason: “No.”
Negropolis turns to him.
Mr. Mason: “We let Mr. Coldmere have his process.”
A pause.
Negropolis: “And we do what?”
Mr. Mason’s expression remains calm.
Mr. Mason: “We make our own.”
The camera tightens on his face. No tears. No rage. No panic. Only purpose.
Mr. Mason:“Class is not dismissed.”
Fade out.
Eddie Ellington: “Mr. Mason lost the match, failed to free his wife, and now he is frightening production employees while suggesting Elias Coldmere cannot be trusted. That is not focus, Johnny. That is a breakdown wearing good manners.”
Johnny Michaels: “Or it is a husband following the first real trail he has been given. Someone inside this building helped the Master of the Night reach that screen, and Mr. Mason intends to learn who put the chalk in his hand.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then everyone backstage should hope class stays dismissed.”
Johnny Michaels: “It will not. Not while Edie Hartwell Mason remains captive.”
The broadcast cuts backstage to the Polar Meltdown interview area.
The lighting has shifted from the cool blue-white glow seen throughout the evening to a deeper crimson. Red lights burn along the edges of the Polar Division backdrop, casting long shadows across the artificial snow and silver decorations.
Smooth Samantha Satin stands in front of the Polar Meltdown logo wearing a sheer red dress with subtle black detailing. She holds the microphone steadily, though her posture is more guarded than usual.
Beside her stands Infernus Rex.
The Infernal King wears black and crimson ring attire beneath a heavy entrance mantle. His expression is cold and assured, his eyes fixed beyond the camera as though the interview is merely another formality before violence.
Standing slightly behind him is Count Vlad.
Count Vlad wears a dark formal coat with deep burgundy lining. His hands rest calmly behind his back, and the faint smile on his face suggests that everything unfolding tonight has already been considered.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Ladies and gentlemen, joining me at this time are Infernus Rex and Count Vlad.”
A wave of boos rises from inside Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Tonight, Infernus Rex, you will face Krampus inside the Rings of Hell in a Hellfire Match.”
Infernus Rex slowly turns his head toward her.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “But unlike many of your recent appearances, neither Abaddon nor Lilith is here tonight.”
The smile on Count Vlad’s face narrows.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Abaddon is competing in HCW, where he will defend the Convergent Championship. Lilith, after losing the Queen of the North Championship to Crimson Vane last night, is also absent.”
She looks directly toward Infernus Rex.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Does entering the Rings of Hell without them place you at a disadvantage?”
Infernus Rex remains silent for several seconds.
Then he smiles.
Infernus Rex: “You believe a throne becomes weaker because two servants are absent from the room?”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “I am asking whether their absence changes your strategy.”
Infernus Rex: “Strategy is required by those who anticipate resistance.”
He takes one step closer to the camera.
Infernus Rex: “Abaddon fulfills his obligation elsewhere tonight. He carries the Convergent Championship into hostile territory and reminds HCW that his allegiance has not diminished his dominance.”
Count Vlad: “A title should be defended wherever its authority is challenged.”
Infernus Rex: “As for Lilith…”
His expression darkens.
Infernus Rex: “She suffered defeat.”
The crowd cheers at the reminder.
Infernus Rex looks toward the distant arena as the reaction echoes backstage.
Infernus Rex: “Let them celebrate Crimson Vane.”
He turns back toward the camera.
Infernus Rex: “Celebration is how the weak distract themselves from what approaches.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Are you disappointed in Lilith?”
Count Vlad steps forward slightly, but Infernus Rex raises one hand.
Infernus Rex: “Loss is not disgrace.”
A pause.
Infernus Rex: “Remaining fallen is disgrace.”
His eyes narrow.
Infernus Rex: “Lilith will decide what her defeat means. She will either rise sharper, darker, and more dangerous…”
The faint smile returns.
Infernus Rex: “Or she will discover that the Infernal Throne has no place for those who cannot endure correction.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Tonight, you face a competitor who has refused every attempt at correction.”
An image of Krampus appears on the screen behind them.
Heavy chains hang across his dark ring attire. His horns rise beneath the cold lighting as flames burn around the Rings of Hell structure.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Krampus has rejected your authority, resisted your attempts to claim him, and aligned himself with Santa Claus.”
The smile disappears from Infernus Rex’s face.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “What happens when the two of you enter the Rings of Hell?”
Infernus Rex: “Correction.”
The word is spoken quietly.
Infernus Rex: “Krampus calls himself the Alpha Demon.”
He gives a small, contemptuous shake of his head.
Infernus Rex: “He believes defiance has made him strong.”
Count Vlad: “Defiance without victory is merely prolonged disobedience.”
Infernus Rex: “He stands beside Santa Claus and mistakes acceptance for freedom.”
The Infernal King looks directly into the camera.
Infernus Rex: “But Santa Claus cannot enter the Rings of Hell with him.”
Infernus Rex: “There will be no North Pole Champion.”
Infernus Rex: “No Jack Frost.”
Infernus Rex: “No Marax.”
His voice lowers.
Infernus Rex: “No one to remind Krampus what he wishes to become.”
He steps closer to Smooth Samantha Satin.
Infernus Rex: “Inside that fire, he will remember what he is.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “And what do you believe he is?”
Infernus Rex: “Mine.”
The crowd erupts in boos.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Krampus has stated clearly that he belongs to no throne.”
Infernus Rex: “Every creature belongs to something.”
He lifts his chin.
Infernus Rex: “Some serve hope.”
Infernus Rex: “Some serve fear.”
Infernus Rex: “Some serve power while pretending they have chosen independence.”
The flames behind him grow brighter on the screen.
Infernus Rex: “Tonight, Krampus will enter the fire believing it is his natural home.”
His smile returns.
Infernus Rex: “He will discover it is my throne room.”
Count Vlad: “The Rings of Hell were not created to determine which demon is stronger.”
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Then what will they determine?”
Count Vlad: “Which one has the right to command.”
Infernus Rex removes his entrance mantle and hands it to Count Vlad.
His black and crimson ring gear is now fully visible.
Infernus Rex: “Krampus, you have spent weeks declaring that you will never kneel.”
He stares into the camera.
Infernus Rex: “Good.”
A low laugh escapes him.
Infernus Rex: “Remain standing.”
His eyes burn beneath the red lighting.
Infernus Rex: “It will make the moment you fall far more instructive.”
Infernus Rex walks out of the interview area.
Count Vlad watches him leave before turning toward Smooth Samantha Satin.
Count Vlad: “The Infernal Throne does not require every piece upon the board.”
His smile widens.
Count Vlad: “Only the king.”
Count Vlad follows Infernus Rex into the corridor.
The camera remains with Smooth Samantha Satin.
Smooth Samantha Satin: “Infernus Rex believes neither the absence of Abaddon nor the defeat of Lilith will affect him tonight. The Rings of Hell Hellfire Match between Infernus Rex and Krampus is next.”
The broadcast returns to the commentary desk.
Johnny Michaels: “Infernus Rex intends to turn this match into a declaration of authority, but Krampus has spent his entire life resisting anyone who attempts to control him.”
Eddie Ellington: “Resistance sounds impressive until the door closes and the fire starts. Tonight, Krampus enters the throne room of Infernus Rex.”
Johnny Michaels: “It is the Rings of Hell. There will be fire, there will be no retreat, and there must be a winner.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then someone is about to learn that being the Alpha Demon is easier to claim than it is to prove.”
The camera leaves the backstage interview area and returns to Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
The usual ring has disappeared beneath a structure built specifically for what comes next.
Four black iron towers rise from the corners of ringside. Heavy chains connect them above the ring, forming a jagged canopy beneath the arena lights. Narrow channels filled with flame run around the outer floor. Steel grates, cracked stone slabs, stacked chairs, heavy tables, and lengths of chain have been arranged throughout the fighting area.
A raised platform stands beyond the far side of the ring, suspended above two tables.
The canvas has been removed.
Beneath the ropes lies a black stone fighting surface scarred by burns and impact marks.
Fire surges from the corner towers.
The crowd reacts with a mixture of excitement and unease.
Johnny Michaels: “The Rings of Hell have been assembled around the ring. The normal canvas has been removed, the floor has been replaced with stone, and nearly every surface inside that structure has been designed to increase the damage of a fall.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then Krampus should have reconsidered all those speeches about being the Alpha Demon. Titles invite challenges, Johnny.”
Johnny Michaels: “This is a Hellfire Match. Victory can be secured by pinfall or submission anywhere within the Rings of Hell. There are no disqualifications, no countouts, and no escape from the structure until the match is over.”
Eddie Ellington: “Which means no Santa Claus rushing in to protect his troubled friend. No Jack Frost. No one standing between Krampus and the consequences of insulting Infernus Rex.”
Johnny Michaels: “The structure will be sealed once both competitors enter.”
The arena lights turn cold blue.
A low growl rolls through Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
Chains begin dragging across stone.
The entrance screen shows a frozen mountain beneath a black sky. Heavy footprints appear in the snow, each one surrounded by cracks in the ice.
A violent percussion beat begins.
Krampus steps through the curtain.
The crowd erupts.
The self-proclaimed Alpha Demon wears heavy black ring attire reinforced with dark leather and iron fastenings. Thick chains cross his torso and hang from his waist. His horns rise beneath the cold lighting, and his expression carries pure hostility.
He stops at the top of the ramp and looks toward the Rings of Hell.
Flames burst from the four corner towers.
Krampus does not react.
He begins walking.
Johnny Michaels: “There is no hesitation from Krampus. He knows what this match represents. Infernus Rex has spent weeks attempting to force him beneath the authority of the Infernal Throne.”
Eddie Ellington: “And Krampus has answered through arrogance, insubordination, and an inexplicable friendship with Santa Claus.”
Johnny Michaels: “It was Krampus who stood with Santa Claus against the Frost Giants and the Infernal Legion.”
Eddie Ellington: “A demon siding with Santa. It is embarrassing. Infernus Rex is performing a public service by correcting him.”
Krampus reaches the foot of the structure.
Two officials unlock a chain-covered gate.
Krampus steps through.
The gate closes behind him.
He climbs onto the stone ring floor and walks to the center, dragging one length of chain behind him.
Krampus wraps the chain around one fist and looks toward the entrance.
The blue lighting disappears.
The arena is plunged into darkness.
A deep voice echoes through the building.
“Every flame answers to a throne.”
Red light rises from beneath the entrance stage.
The video wall fills with a burning crown.
Heavy choral music begins as columns of fire erupt on either side of the curtain.
Count Vlad emerges first.
He carries the entrance mantle of Infernus Rex across one arm.
The crowd responds with furious boos.
Count Vlad steps aside and lowers his head.
Infernus Rex walks through the fire.
The Infernal King wears black and crimson ring attire marked with dark metallic armor across his shoulders and forearms. A jagged crown rests upon his head. His eyes remain fixed on Krampus.
He walks to the center of the stage and raises one hand.
The flames surrounding the Rings of Hell rise higher.
Eddie Ellington: “Look at him. That is authority. Infernus Rex is not entering an unfamiliar battlefield. He is entering his throne room.”
Johnny Michaels: “The structure may favor the experience of Infernus Rex, but Krampus has never required comfortable surroundings to become violent.”
Eddie Ellington: “Violence without leadership is chaos. Infernus Rex will demonstrate the difference tonight.”
Count Vlad removes the crown from the head of Infernus Rex and accepts the armored mantle.
He speaks quietly into the Infernal King’s ear.
Infernus Rex nods once.
He begins walking down the ramp alone.
Johnny Michaels: “Count Vlad will not be permitted inside the structure. Once Infernus Rex passes through that gate, this will be between the two competitors.”
Eddie Ellington: “The king does not require assistance to discipline one disobedient subject.”
Infernus Rex reaches the gate.
He looks through the chains at Krampus.
Krampus gestures for him to enter.
Infernus Rex steps inside.
The officials close the gate and secure it with a heavy iron lock.
Count Vlad remains at the top of the ramp, watching from beyond the structure.
Celeste Orion stands at a protected position outside the Rings of Hell.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is the Rings of Hell Hellfire Match.”
The crowd roars.
Celeste Orion: “There are no disqualifications and no countouts. Falls count anywhere within the Rings of Hell. The only methods of victory are pinfall or submission.”
She turns toward the first competitor.
Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, the defiant Alpha Demon, Krampus.”
Krampus throws both arms outward and roars.
The crowd answers loudly.
Celeste Orion: “His opponent, the ruler of the Infernal Throne, Infernus Rex.”
Infernus Rex raises one fist as the flames surge again.
Eddie Ellington: “Show respect. That is the Infernal King.”
Johnny Michaels: “Respect will be earned through what happens after the bell.”
Celeste Orion moves away from the structure.
Inside, referee Honest Abe checks both competitors from a safe distance.
Neither man waits for instructions.
They begin walking toward one another.
Honest Abe signals for the bell.
Minute 1
Krampus advances with one fist wrapped in chain, but Infernus Rex strikes first.
The Infernal King drives a knee into Krampus’s abdomen and traps his head between his legs.
Krampus attempts to widen his stance and resist the lift.
Infernus Rex powers him upward, jumps, and drives him headfirst onto the exposed stone with the Hellfire Tombstone.
The impact echoes throughout the structure.
Krampus rolls onto his side, one hand clutching the back of his neck.
Infernus Rex kneels beside him and speaks directly into his face before shoving him back onto the stone.
Johnny Michaels: “A Hellfire Tombstone in the opening minute. There was no canvas and no padding beneath Krampus when his head and shoulders struck that floor.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is how a king addresses rebellion. No discussion. No negotiation. Immediate correction.”
Johnny Michaels: “This match could have ended before Krampus had an opportunity to establish any offense.”
Eddie Ellington: “It still may. Infernus Rex appears willing to make this mercifully brief.”
Minute 2
Infernus Rex pulls Krampus upright and locks both arms behind his back.
He attempts to lift him for Hades’ Hammer.
Krampus lowers his weight and prevents the elevation.
The two struggle for control over a cracked stone slab positioned beside the ring.
Krampus breaks one arm free and attempts to reverse the hold.
He traps Infernus Rex for a Hades’ Hammer of his own.
Infernus Rex drives his feet against the stone and blocks the lift.
Both men exchange short headbutts before releasing one another.
They separate with neither completing the piledriver.
Johnny Michaels: “Both competitors attempted Hades’ Hammer, but neither could establish enough control to complete it.”
Eddie Ellington: “Krampus tried to imitate the Infernal King and learned that the move requires more than uncontrolled strength.”
Johnny Michaels: “Infernus Rex could not complete it either.”
Eddie Ellington: “He was evaluating the resistance.”
Minute 3
Krampus charges before Infernus Rex can reset.
He strikes the Infernal King across the jaw with the chain-wrapped fist.
Infernus Rex falls against the ropes.
Krampus catches him before he can escape, turns him upside down, and jumps.
The Hellfire Tombstone drives Infernus Rex onto the stone.
The crowd erupts as Krampus sits upright beside him.
He looks directly toward Count Vlad at the top of the ramp.
Krampus then draws one thumb across his throat.
Johnny Michaels: “Krampus has answered with a Hellfire Tombstone of his own.”
Eddie Ellington: “He attacked with a chain before completing it.”
Johnny Michaels: “Chains are legal in this match.”
Eddie Ellington: “Legal does not make it honorable.”
Johnny Michaels: “You praised this environment when Infernus Rex used it.”
Eddie Ellington: “Because the king understands how to wield authority responsibly.”
Minute 4
Krampus moves behind Infernus Rex and wraps one arm beneath his chin.
He drops backward and traps the Infernal King in the Serpent of Gehenna.
Krampus closes his legs around the body of Infernus Rex, preventing him from turning toward the ropes.
Honest Abe asks for a submission.
Infernus Rex refuses.
He reaches backward, grips one of Krampus’s horns, and twists his body until the hold loosens.
Infernus Rex rises while maintaining control of both arms.
He lifts Krampus into a crucifix position and carries him toward the edge of the stone ring floor.
Two tables stand below.
Infernus Rex launches Krampus from the apron with the Pyre of the Fallen.
Both tables collapse beneath the impact.
The crowd rises as broken wood scatters across the floor.
Johnny Michaels: “Krampus nearly forced a submission with the Serpent of Gehenna, but Infernus Rex escaped and threw him through two tables with the Pyre of the Fallen.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is the difference between applying a hold and commanding a battlefield. Infernus Rex recognized every object around him and chose the most destructive destination.”
Johnny Michaels: “Both men have already been driven headfirst onto stone, and now Krampus has been sent through two tables.”
Eddie Ellington: “He wanted the Rings of Hell. He should appreciate the accommodations.”
Minute 5
Infernus Rex pulls Krampus from the broken tables and attempts to drag him toward the ring.
Krampus catches a loose chain from the floor.
He wraps it around the neck and shoulder of Infernus Rex, turns sharply, and delivers the Infernal Chainbreaker.
The swinging neckbreaker drives the Infernal King onto the arena floor.
Krampus attempts to maintain control.
Infernus Rex rolls behind him, locks both arms around his waist, and throws him backward with the Sulfur Pit Suplex.
Krampus lands across the floor near the flaming channel.
Both men remain down.
Johnny Michaels: “The chain-assisted neckbreaker damaged Infernus Rex, but he answered with the Sulfur Pit Suplex and threw Krampus dangerously close to the fire.”
Eddie Ellington: “Infernus Rex is making every exchange more costly for Krampus. The Alpha Demon may land a move, but the king ensures that he pays for it.”
Minute 6
Krampus rises beside a steel chair.
He catches Infernus Rex approaching and drives the edge of the chair into his abdomen.
The Infernal King folds forward.
Krampus drops the chair open-side down against the stone.
He traps the head of Infernus Rex and drives him face-first into the seat with the Devil’s Due DDT.
The chair collapses beneath them.
Infernus Rex rolls onto his back with one hand across his forehead.
Krampus sits beside him and laughs.
Johnny Michaels: “The Devil’s Due DDT drove Infernus Rex directly into the seat of that steel chair.”
Eddie Ellington: “An act of barbarism from Krampus.”
Johnny Michaels: “You called this a throne room moments ago.”
Eddie Ellington: “A throne room is expected to maintain standards.”
Minute 7
Krampus collects several loose chairs and throws them into a tangled pile near the center of the stone floor.
He pulls Infernus Rex upward and forces his head between his legs.
The Infernal King attempts to stand and throw him backward.
Krampus drives a forearm across his back and completes the lift.
He delivers the Seven-Alarm Powerbomb into the pile of steel chairs.
Metal bends beneath the body of Infernus Rex.
Krampus remains seated and hooks both legs.
Honest Abe reaches one before Infernus Rex forces one shoulder upward.
Krampus releases the cover and strikes him across the face.
Johnny Michaels: “The Seven-Alarm Powerbomb crushed Infernus Rex into those chairs, but the Infernal King escaped before two.”
Eddie Ellington: “Because a king does not surrender his throne after one crude attack.”
Johnny Michaels: “That was more than one attack. Krampus has controlled the last several minutes.”
Eddie Ellington: “Temporary disorder before authority is restored.”
Minute 8
Krampus attempts to pull Infernus Rex from the chairs.
The Infernal King catches him beneath the jaw and drives him backward toward a replacement table.
Infernus Rex knocks Krampus onto the tabletop.
He runs along the stone floor and launches his full body forward with the Cinderblock Senton.
The table breaks beneath Krampus.
Infernus Rex rolls away holding his lower back while Krampus remains buried beneath the debris.
Johnny Michaels: “The Cinderblock Senton put Krampus through another table. Infernus Rex sacrificed his own body to complete that attack.”
Eddie Ellington: “A ruler occasionally enters the battle himself. Infernus Rex understands that authority must be demonstrated.”
Johnny Michaels: “Both competitors are accumulating tremendous damage.”
Eddie Ellington: “Only one of them was born to endure this environment.”
Minute 9
Infernus Rex lifts Krampus from the broken table and traps one wrist.
He pulls Krampus toward the nearest corner tower for the Brimstone Lariat.
Krampus ducks beneath the arm and drags a steel chair from the floor.
He forces Infernus Rex downward and delivers another Devil’s Due DDT onto the chair.
Infernus Rex rolls away, but Krampus follows.
The Infernal King rises suddenly, catches Krampus by the wrist, and drives him backward with the Brimstone Lariat.
Krampus’s back and shoulders collide with the steel ring post.
The post shakes from the impact.
Johnny Michaels: “Both men landed devastating attacks. The second Devil’s Due DDT was followed by a Brimstone Lariat that drove Krampus into the post.”
Eddie Ellington: “The ring post did not move. Krampus did. That should explain which object won the exchange.”
Minute 10
Infernus Rex attempts to pull Krampus away from the post.
Krampus lowers his shoulder and drives forward with the Hellhound Mauling.
The spear carries both men through a section of the barricade.
Fans behind the destroyed barrier scatter as officials move them away.
Krampus rises first and reaches for Infernus Rex.
The Infernal King catches him around the waist and lifts him.
He turns and drives Krampus onto a heavy steel floor grate with the Furnace Door Spinebuster.
The grate bends beneath the impact.
Johnny Michaels: “The Hellhound Mauling sent both competitors through the barricade, but Infernus Rex recovered and drove Krampus onto the steel grate.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is composure. Krampus threw himself through a wall. Infernus Rex selected a target and delivered his opponent onto it.”
Minute 11
Krampus forces himself upright using the damaged barricade.
Infernus Rex approaches with both hands extended.
Krampus strikes him in the abdomen and traps his head.
He jumps and delivers another Hellfire Tombstone onto the stone floor beyond the barricade.
Infernus Rex lands hard but immediately rolls toward Krampus.
As Krampus rises, the Infernal King catches him around the waist and drives him onto the steel grate with another Furnace Door Spinebuster.
The impact leaves both competitors motionless.
Johnny Michaels: “A Hellfire Tombstone from Krampus, followed almost immediately by a second Furnace Door Spinebuster from Infernus Rex.”
Eddie Ellington: “Krampus cannot maintain control. Every time he believes he has succeeded, Infernus Rex reminds him who commands this match.”
Johnny Michaels: “Neither man appears willing to remain down long enough for the other to capitalize.”
Minute 12
Krampus and Infernus Rex rise together.
Krampus grabs one wrist and pulls the Infernal King toward the ring post.
He turns and connects with the Brimstone Lariat, driving Infernus Rex backward into the steel.
The crowd cheers as the Infernal King falls forward.
Krampus moves to continue the attack.
Infernus Rex catches him by the waist, turns him upside down, and jumps.
The Hellfire Tombstone drives Krampus onto the stone.
Infernus Rex falls across him.
Honest Abe counts one.
Krampus escapes before two.
Johnny Michaels: “Krampus used the Brimstone Lariat against Infernus Rex, but the Infernal King answered with another Hellfire Tombstone.”
Eddie Ellington: “Krampus continues stealing techniques from his superior. Infernus Rex continues demonstrating how they should be performed.”
Minute 13
Krampus rolls behind Infernus Rex and attempts to lock in the Serpent of Gehenna.
Infernus Rex traps one leg before Krampus can close the body scissors.
The Infernal King rises and attempts to lift Krampus for the Seven-Alarm Powerbomb.
Krampus strikes downward and escapes the position.
Both men reach for control near the tangled chairs.
Neither completes the intended move.
They separate and stare at one another.
Johnny Michaels: “Both competitors attempted major finishing attacks, but exhaustion and accumulated damage prevented either from completing the motion.”
Eddie Ellington: “Infernus Rex is conserving strength. Krampus is losing it.”
Minute 14
Infernus Rex drives a knee into Krampus and turns him upside down for another Hellfire Tombstone.
Krampus kicks his legs and shifts his weight.
He lands behind the Infernal King.
Krampus wraps one length of chain around the arm of Infernus Rex and pulls him backward.
The Hellfire Tombstone is neutralized.
Krampus delivers a heavy forearm across the back of the Infernal King’s head.
Johnny Michaels: “Krampus recognized the Hellfire Tombstone and escaped before Infernus Rex could leave his feet.”
Eddie Ellington: “Recognition is not victory.”
Johnny Michaels: “It prevented what could have been the deciding move.”
Eddie Ellington: “It delayed the inevitable.”
Minute 15
Krampus maintains control of the chain.
He wraps it around his own forearm and swings toward Infernus Rex.
The Infernal King catches a second length of chain and rotates with an Ashfall Lariat.
The chain-assisted discus strike turns Krampus through the air.
Infernus Rex moves forward, but Krampus rises suddenly and catches him.
He turns the Infernal King upside down and delivers another Hellfire Tombstone onto the stone.
Krampus makes the cover.
Honest Abe counts one. Two.
Infernus Rex raises one shoulder.
The crowd reacts with disbelief.
Krampus sits beside him and stares at Honest Abe.
The referee confirms the two-count.
Johnny Michaels: “Infernus Rex survived another Hellfire Tombstone. Krampus came within one count of defeating the Infernal King.”
Eddie Ellington: “The shoulder rose before three. That is all that matters.”
Johnny Michaels: “That was the closest fall of the match.”
Eddie Ellington: “And Krampus failed to complete it.”
Minute 16
Both competitors remain down as Honest Abe checks them.
Infernus Rex reaches the ropes first.
He pulls himself upright and looks toward a table standing near the flaming channel.
The Infernal King drags Krampus onto the tabletop.
He climbs onto the edge of the stone ring floor, runs forward, and launches the Cinderblock Senton.
The table collapses beneath Krampus for a second time.
Infernus Rex rolls through the debris and lies beside him.
Johnny Michaels: “A second Cinderblock Senton, and another table has been destroyed beneath Krampus.”
Eddie Ellington: “The Alpha Demon is being buried beneath the remains of his own defiance.”
Minute 17
Infernus Rex crawls toward the elevated Hellfire platform.
He begins climbing the iron steps.
Below him, Krampus pulls himself from the broken table.
Krampus reaches another table and drags it toward the platform.
He climbs onto the apron and leaps backward with a Cinderblock Senton of his own.
The attack drives Infernus Rex through the table.
Krampus attempts to stand.
Above him, Infernus Rex has somehow reached the Hellfire platform.
The Infernal King turns his back to the floor.
He leaps.
Infernus Rex rotates through the air with the Scorched Earth Moonsault.
He crashes through Krampus and another table on the floor.
The audience erupts.
Johnny Michaels: “The Scorched Earth Moonsault from the Hellfire platform. Infernus Rex threw himself from that height and drove Krampus through the table.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is why he is the king. Krampus copied the senton. Infernus Rex answered from the highest point in the structure.”
Minute 18
Infernus Rex remains among the broken wood.
Krampus pulls himself upright first.
He drags the Infernal King toward a cracked stone slab and traps both arms.
Krampus lifts him and delivers Hades’ Hammer onto the slab.
The stone fractures beneath the elevated butterfly piledriver.
Krampus falls across Infernus Rex.
Honest Abe counts one.
Infernus Rex powers one shoulder upward.
Krampus reaches for him again.
The Infernal King catches Krampus beneath both arms and presses him above his head.
He walks toward the ring and throws Krampus from the elevated edge onto the stone floor with the Furnace Floor Slam.
Johnny Michaels: “Krampus completed Hades’ Hammer, but Infernus Rex escaped at one and answered by throwing him from the ring onto the floor.”
Eddie Ellington: “A one-count. The king was offended by the suggestion that Hades’ Hammer could defeat him.”
Johnny Michaels: “Or he understood that remaining beneath Krampus was too dangerous.”
Eddie Ellington: “You call it danger. I call it disrespect.”
Minute 19
Krampus crawls toward the stone ring floor.
Infernus Rex reaches him and attempts Hades’ Hammer.
Krampus blocks the lift and tries to turn the Infernal King upside down for another Hellfire Tombstone.
Infernus Rex traps one leg and prevents the rotation.
The competitors struggle against each other until both lose their balance.
They fall separately onto the stone without either completing the intended attack.
Johnny Michaels: “Neither man could complete the move. Their bodies are beginning to fail after nearly twenty minutes inside the Rings of Hell.”
Eddie Ellington: “Infernus Rex still has command of the match. He is allowing Krampus to exhaust himself.”
Johnny Michaels: “They are both lying on the floor.”
Eddie Ellington: “A strategic position.”
Minute 20
Infernus Rex rises behind Krampus and drives a forearm into his back.
He drags another table into position near the ring.
Krampus attempts to strike him away.
The Infernal King catches the arm, throws Krampus onto the table, and runs forward.
A third Cinderblock Senton crushes Krampus through the wood.
Infernus Rex remains seated among the debris, staring down at him.
Johnny Michaels: “Three Cinderblock Sentons have now driven Krampus through three separate tables.”
Eddie Ellington: “The Infernal King is stripping away every layer of defiance.”
Minute 21
Infernus Rex pulls Krampus from the wreckage and traps one wrist.
He draws him toward the nearest steel post.
Krampus attempts to brace himself.
The Infernal King turns and delivers the Brimstone Lariat.
Krampus is driven backward into the post.
His body falls forward and lands against the guardrail.
Infernus Rex stands above him and raises one fist toward Count Vlad.
Johnny Michaels: “The Brimstone Lariat has driven Krampus into the steel post again.”
Eddie Ellington: “Look at Count Vlad. He knows the correction is nearly complete.”
Minute 22
Infernus Rex lifts Krampus across his shoulders.
He carries him toward the steel guardrail.
Krampus attempts to drive elbows into the side of his head, but the strikes lack their earlier force.
The Infernal King drops him back-first across the top of the guardrail with the Demon’s Backbone.
Krampus folds across the steel and falls to the floor.
Infernus Rex places one boot against his chest.
Honest Abe asks whether he wishes to attempt a cover.
Infernus Rex shakes his head.
He looks down at Krampus and orders him to stand.
Johnny Michaels: “The Demon’s Backbone drove Krampus across the guardrail. Infernus Rex could attempt the fall, but he is choosing to continue.”
Eddie Ellington: “He does not merely want Krampus defeated. He wants him conscious enough to understand who defeated him.”
Johnny Michaels: “That arrogance could provide Krampus with another opportunity.”
Eddie Ellington: “There are no opportunities left.”
Minute 23
Krampus pulls himself onto one knee.
Infernus Rex stands behind him and reaches down.
A section of the black covering beneath the ring suddenly moves.
Johnny Michaels: “Wait. Something is moving beneath the ring.”
A hand appears from beneath the stone platform.
Then a second.
A figure crawls into view.
It is Marax the Deceiver.
The crowd explodes with confusion.
Johnny Michaels: “That is Marax.”
Eddie Ellington: “What is he doing inside the structure?”
Marax the Deceiver rises slowly behind Krampus.
An iron spike rests in his right hand.
Krampus turns.
Marax the Deceiver drives the iron spike across the side of his head.
Krampus collapses.
The arena erupts in furious boos.
Johnny Michaels: “No. Marax has struck Krampus.”
Eddie Ellington: “Perhaps Marax has finally recognized the correct side.”
Johnny Michaels: “He helped Krampus and Santa Claus fight the Infernal Legion last night.”
Eddie Ellington: “People learn, Johnny.”
Marax the Deceiver steps backward.
He looks toward Infernus Rex.
The Infernal King stares at him for one long moment.
Then Infernus Rex smiles.
He pulls the unconscious Krampus upright.
The Infernal King turns him upside down.
Infernus Rex jumps and delivers the Hellfire Tombstone onto the stone floor.
Krampus lands motionless.
Infernus Rex folds both arms across his chest and makes the cover.
Honest Abe hesitates as he looks toward Marax the Deceiver.
There are no disqualifications.
The referee drops to the floor.
One! Two! THREE! The bell rings.
Fire surges from every corner of the Rings of Hell.
Infernus Rex remains kneeling beside Krampus.
Marax the Deceiver stands several feet away, still holding the iron spike.
The crowd showers both men with boos.
Johnny Michaels: “Infernus Rex has defeated Krampus, but the victory belongs to the intervention of Marax the Deceiver.”
Eddie Ellington: “The rules allowed it. Marax made a choice, and Infernus Rex completed the Hellfire Tombstone.”
Johnny Michaels: “Why would Marax do this? He has resisted the Infernal Legion. He stood beside Jack Frost, Santa Claus, and Krampus less than twenty-four hours ago.”
Eddie Ellington: “Perhaps resistance became tiresome. Perhaps Marax finally remembered that deception is not merely his name.”
The gate is unlocked.
Count Vlad begins walking toward the structure.
Inside, Infernus Rex rises.
Honest Abe raises his arm.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winner, Infernus Rex.”
The crowd boos louder.
Infernus Rex pulls his arm away from the referee and looks toward Marax the Deceiver.
Marax the Deceiver lowers the iron spike.
Neither man speaks.
Count Vlad enters through the gate.
He stops between them and surveys the fallen Krampus.
A knowing smile appears on his face.
Johnny Michaels: “Look at Count Vlad. There is no surprise in his expression.”
Eddie Ellington: “A great strategist is rarely surprised.”
Johnny Michaels: “Was this planned? Has Marax aligned himself with the Infernal Throne?”
Eddie Ellington: “He has not offered an explanation, and he does not owe one to this audience.”
Infernus Rex places one boot against the chest of Krampus and raises both arms.
Count Vlad stands on one side of him.
Marax the Deceiver stands on the other, his expression unreadable.
Officials and medical personnel gather outside the gate but do not enter while the three men remain near Krampus.
Johnny Michaels: “Krampus survived twenty-two minutes of tables, chains, stone, steel, and fire. He was still attempting to rise until Marax the Deceiver crawled from beneath the ring and struck him with that iron spike.”
Eddie Ellington: “The Rings of Hell reward preparation. Infernus Rex entered with a superior plan.”
Johnny Michaels: “That was not competition. That was betrayal.”
Eddie Ellington: “History is written by the winner, and tonight it will record that the Infernal King defeated the Alpha Demon.”
Johnny Michaels: “It will also record exactly how he did it.”
Medical personnel finally enter as Count Vlad directs Infernus Rex toward the gate.
Marax the Deceiver follows several steps behind them.
Before leaving, Marax the Deceiver turns and looks back at Krampus.
There is no celebration in his face.
No visible remorse.
Only silence.
He steps through the gate.
Johnny Michaels: “The match is over, but the questions surrounding Marax the Deceiver have only begun.”
Eddie Ellington: “There is only one question that matters. Who stands tonight?”
The camera shows Infernus Rex and Count Vlad at the top of the ramp.
Marax the Deceiver stands several feet behind them.
Inside the structure, Krampus remains surrounded by medical personnel.
Eddie Ellington: “The Infernal King stands.”
INFERNUS REX DEFEATS KRAMPUS VIA PINFALL AT THE 23:00 MINUTE MARK.
The camera returns to Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
The remains of the Rings of Hell have been cleared from ringside, but scorch marks remain across the floor near the barricade. Crew members finish replacing the damaged sections while the crowd waits beneath sweeping blue-white lights.
The North Pole Championship appears on the video wall.
Footage from the previous night fills the screen.
Grondar the Revenant and the Frost Giants overwhelming Santa Claus, Krampus, and Van Helsing.
Infernus Rex and Abaddon joining the assault.
Jack Frost and Marax the Deceiver rushing to the ring.
The final image freezes on Santa Claus and Grondar the Revenant staring through the chaos at one another.
The screen changes.
NO DISQUALIFICATION NO TIME LIMIT NORTH POLE CHAMPIONSHIP
Johnny Michaels: “It has been a night of championship victories, betrayals, and consequences, but everything now leads to the North Pole Championship.”
Eddie Ellington: “Everything leads to the end of Santa Claus’s reign. Grondar the Revenant has spent weeks proving that the champion cannot contain him.”
Johnny Michaels: “This match will have no disqualifications and no time limit. The only way it ends is by pinfall or submission.”
Eddie Ellington: “Which means Santa Claus cannot hope the clock saves him. He cannot hope Grondar loses his temper and gets disqualified. The champion must survive until one of them cannot continue.”
Johnny Michaels: “Magnus Blackwell will accompany the challenger, and that is a major concern under No Disqualification rules.”
Eddie Ellington: “It is called intelligent preparation. Santa Claus has spent years surrounding himself with elves, reindeer, guardians, and anyone else willing to sing about him. Grondar is entitled to bring one manager.”
The arena lights fade.
A low vibration passes through Scrooge’s Glacier Plex.
The video wall becomes a frozen wasteland beneath a blood-red sky.
A massive figure appears in the distance.
With every step, the ice fractures beneath him.
Heavy drums begin.
Magnus Blackwell steps through the curtain.
He wears a long black coat with silver trim and carries his dark cane in one hand. He looks over the crowd with open contempt before turning toward the entrance.
The frozen landscape on the screen splits apart.
Grondar the Revenant emerges.
The challenger towers beneath the red and blue lighting. Dark armor covers his shoulders and forearms. Frost clings to the edges of his ring attire, while old scars cross the exposed skin of his chest and arms.
He stops beside Magnus Blackwell.
Magnus Blackwell lifts the cane and points toward the ring.
Grondar the Revenant begins walking.
Johnny Michaels: “There is the challenger. Grondar the Revenant has left destruction throughout the Polar Division since placing the North Pole Championship in his sights.”
Eddie Ellington: “He has done more than place it in his sights. He has exposed the weakness behind everything Santa Claus represents.”
Johnny Michaels: “The champion has stood against the Frost Giants, the Blackwell Syndicate, and the growing influence of the Infernal Legion.”
Eddie Ellington: “And every time, somebody has rushed in to protect him. Tonight, when Grondar drives him through the ring, there will be no disqualification to rescue Christmas.”
Grondar the Revenant reaches ringside and stops.
He looks across the crowd before placing one hand against the top rope.
The rope bends beneath his grip.
Magnus Blackwell walks up the steps first and holds the ropes apart.
Grondar the Revenant enters.
He moves to the center of the ring and raises both arms.
A deep roar sounds through the arena as red light washes over the ring.
Magnus Blackwell steps onto the apron and whispers instructions to the challenger.
The lights go dark. A single bell rings. Then another.
Then twelve bells sound in sequence.
Snow begins falling across the video wall.
A small golden light appears within a dark forest.
The light grows until it becomes a star shining above the North Pole.
An orchestral version of Santa Claus’s theme begins.
The arena erupts.
Santa Claus steps through the curtain wearing his traditional red entrance coat trimmed in white fur.
The North Pole Championship rests around his waist.
His expression is warm but focused. He looks across the arena, then directly toward Grondar the Revenant.
The challenger stands motionless in the ring.
Santa Claus removes the championship and raises it above his head.
The crowd begins chanting.
THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES!
Johnny Michaels: “The North Pole Champion understands the danger waiting in that ring, but there is no fear in his face.”
Eddie Ellington: “There should be. Fear is useful when you are walking toward a revenant large enough to use the championship belt as a wristwatch.”
Johnny Michaels: “Earlier tonight, Santa Claus said the championship represents every person who refuses to surrender when darkness arrives.”
Eddie Ellington: “A beautiful speech. Unfortunately, speeches cannot block a Spear.”
Santa Claus begins walking toward the ring.
He stops along the barricade to acknowledge several young fans, then continues without taking his eyes from Grondar the Revenant.
Magnus Blackwell moves toward the bottom of the ramp and applauds sarcastically.
Santa Claus stops directly in front of him.
The two men stare at one another.
Magnus Blackwell raises both hands and steps aside.
Eddie Ellington: “A respectful gesture from Magnus Blackwell.”
Johnny Michaels: “He was attempting to provoke the champion before the match began.”
Eddie Ellington: “Perhaps Santa Claus should learn to accept hospitality.”
Santa Claus climbs the steps.
He enters the ring and walks directly toward Grondar the Revenant.
The two competitors stand face-to-face.
Grondar the Revenant looks down at the champion.
Santa Claus raises the North Pole Championship between them.
The crowd roars.
Referee Honest Abe steps between the competitors and directs them toward opposite corners.
Celeste Orion enters the center of the ring.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, this is the main event of NPCW Polar Meltdown 2026.”
The crowd cheers.
Celeste Orion: “The following contest is a No Disqualification Match with no time limit, and it is for the NPCW North Pole Championship.”
Celeste Orion turns toward the challenger.
Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Magnus Blackwell, the frozen destroyer, Grondar the Revenant.”
Grondar the Revenant raises one fist.
Magnus Blackwell strikes the cane against the floor.
The crowd responds with loud jeers.
Eddie Ellington: “That is the next North Pole Champion.”
Celeste Orion turns toward the champion.
Celeste Orion: “His opponent, the reigning and defending NPCW North Pole Champion, the guardian of the North, Santa Claus.”
Santa Claus raises the championship as the audience erupts.
Johnny Michaels: “The North Pole Championship has been carried by warriors, guardians, and legends. Tonight, Santa Claus places that legacy against the destructive power of Grondar the Revenant.”
Celeste Orion exits the ring.
Honest Abe takes the North Pole Championship from Santa Claus.
He holds it above his head, then presents it to Grondar the Revenant.
The challenger reaches toward the belt.
Honest Abe pulls it back and hands it to the timekeeper.
Magnus Blackwell shouts from ringside.
Santa Claus removes his entrance coat and places it outside the ring.
Both competitors move toward the center.
Honest Abe calls for the bell.
Minute 1
Santa Claus immediately drives a forearm into Grondar the Revenant’s chest.
The challenger barely moves.
Santa Claus strikes again, then runs toward the ropes.
He rebounds and knocks Grondar the Revenant backward with a shoulder.
The champion runs again.
This time Grondar the Revenant falls onto his back.
Santa Claus continues moving, rebounds from the opposite ropes, and launches himself with Down the Chimney.
The Big Splash lands across the challenger’s chest.
Santa Claus hooks one leg.
Honest Abe reaches one before Grondar the Revenant throws the champion aside.
Johnny Michaels: “The champion wasted no time. Santa Claus used repeated momentum to knock the challenger down and connected with Down the Chimney.”
Eddie Ellington: “And Grondar removed him at one. That splash would have flattened most competitors. The challenger treated it like an inconvenience.”
Minute 2
Santa Claus approaches as Grondar the Revenant rises.
The challenger suddenly explodes forward.
Grondar the Revenant drives his shoulder into the champion’s abdomen with a Spear.
The impact carries Santa Claus across the ring and drives him into the canvas.
Grondar the Revenant remains on top and presses one forearm across the champion’s face.
Honest Abe counts one.
Santa Claus lifts a shoulder before two.
Grondar the Revenant rises and looks toward Magnus Blackwell.
The manager nods approvingly.
Johnny Michaels: “That Spear completely reversed the momentum. Grondar the Revenant moved with frightening speed for a competitor of his size.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is why Santa Claus cannot prepare for him. Grondar possesses the strength of a giant and the speed of an avalanche.”
Minute 3
Grondar the Revenant pulls the champion upright.
Santa Claus strikes him across the side of the head with Good Tidings.
The sharp slap turns the challenger’s face.
Grondar the Revenant answers with a European Uppercut.
The strike lifts Santa Claus from his feet and sends him crashing backward.
Santa Claus rolls toward the ropes.
Grondar the Revenant follows and drives another forearm across his upper back.
Johnny Michaels: “Santa Claus attempted to break the challenger’s concentration with Good Tidings, but the European Uppercut carried far greater force.”
Eddie Ellington: “The champion slapped a revenant. That is not strategy. That is a request for immediate punishment.”
Minute 4
Santa Claus catches the challenger approaching and throws him toward the ropes.
As Grondar the Revenant returns, Santa Claus lowers his shoulder and charges with the Reindeer Charge.
The Running Shoulder Block drives the challenger through the ropes and onto the apron.
Santa Claus prepares to strike again.
At ringside, Magnus Blackwell climbs onto the opposite side of the apron and begins arguing with Honest Abe.
The manager raises his cane and points toward the champion’s corner, insisting that an illegal object has been left beneath the turnbuckle.
Honest Abe turns toward him.
While the referee is distracted, Grondar the Revenant reaches through the ropes and drives one hand into Santa Claus’s throat.
He pulls the champion forward and drops him neck-first across the top rope.
Santa Claus falls backward.
Grondar the Revenant steps back into the ring and delivers a heavy boot to the chest.
Johnny Michaels: “Santa Claus connected with the Reindeer Charge, but Magnus Blackwell distracted the referee and gave Grondar an opening.”
Eddie Ellington: “The manager identified a potential safety concern.”
Johnny Michaels: “There was nothing beneath the turnbuckle.”
Eddie Ellington: “Then the inspection succeeded.”
Minute 5

The champion blocks the arm and strikes with a forearm.
Santa Claus runs toward the ropes.
He returns with a second Reindeer Charge.
The shoulder block knocks Grondar the Revenant into the corner.
Santa Claus attempts to follow, but the challenger steps forward and catches him with another European Uppercut.
Both competitors stagger.
Santa Claus falls against the ropes while Grondar the Revenant drops briefly to one knee.
Johnny Michaels: “Both men connected cleanly. Santa Claus drove the challenger backward, but the uppercut stopped the champion before he could continue.”
Eddie Ellington: “Every exchange favors Grondar. Even when Santa Claus lands something significant, the challenger answers with greater damage.”
Minute 6
The competitors lock up near the center of the ring.
Neither gains immediate control.
Santa Claus breaks the stalemate with another Good Tidings strike across the head.
Grondar the Revenant absorbs it and catches the champion around the waist.
He lifts Santa Claus vertically, holds him above the canvas, and drives him down with The Aftermath.
The Jackhammer shakes the ring.
Grondar the Revenant hooks the leg.
Honest Abe counts one.
Two.
Santa Claus raises a shoulder.
The crowd cheers.
Grondar the Revenant sits beside him and stares toward the referee.
Johnny Michaels: “The Aftermath nearly ended the match. Santa Claus was held vertically before being driven down with the full force of Grondar the Revenant behind him.”
Eddie Ellington: “The champion escaped, but look at his face. He understands now. He has entered a match he cannot win.”
Minute 7
Grondar the Revenant drags Santa Claus upright and attempts another European Uppercut.
The champion catches the arm before the strike can land.
Santa Claus twists the wrist, steps behind the challenger, and forces the arm across his back.
Grondar the Revenant attempts to break free through strength.
Santa Claus drives a knee into the back of the leg and forces him down onto one knee.
The champion releases the arm and strikes him across the side of the head.
Johnny Michaels: “A strong defensive sequence from Santa Claus. He neutralized the uppercut and forced the challenger down.”
Eddie Ellington: “He delayed one strike. Grondar remains in the ring, remains dangerous, and remains larger than the champion.”
Minute 8
Santa Claus pulls Grondar the Revenant upright and drives a knee into his abdomen.
The champion hooks both arms around the challenger’s body.
With tremendous effort, Santa Claus lifts Grondar the Revenant and drives him into the canvas with the Jingle Bell Buster.
The crowd erupts.
Santa Claus remains seated after the Spinebuster, breathing heavily.
At ringside, Magnus Blackwell strikes the ring post with his cane.
The sound draws the challenger’s attention.
Magnus Blackwell begins shouting instructions.
Grondar the Revenant grips the ropes and pulls himself upright faster than expected.
He turns toward Santa Claus with renewed intensity.
Johnny Michaels: “The Jingle Bell Buster put Grondar down, but Magnus Blackwell immediately began directing him from ringside.”
Eddie Ellington: “He unlocked the challenger’s focus. Great managers understand when their competitors need the proper words.”
Johnny Michaels: “Whatever Magnus Blackwell said, Grondar the Revenant appears even more dangerous.”
Minute 9
Grondar the Revenant charges for another Spear.
Santa Claus steps aside.
The challenger crashes shoulder-first into the turnbuckles.
Santa Claus catches his head and drives him into the canvas with the Christmas Cracker.
The DDT plants Grondar the Revenant headfirst.
Santa Claus rolls him onto his back and makes the cover.
Honest Abe counts one.
Grondar the Revenant powers out and throws the champion several feet away.
Santa Claus rises quickly.
Grondar the Revenant attempts another Spear, but the champion catches him with a knee before he can complete the charge.
Johnny Michaels: “The Christmas Cracker connected, but Grondar the Revenant escaped at one.”
Eddie Ellington: “That should terrify the champion. One of his strongest attacks produced a single count.”
Johnny Michaels: “It also prevented another Spear.”
Eddie Ellington: “Temporarily.”
Minute 10
Santa Claus catches Grondar the Revenant around the waist and locks in the Candy Cane Crush.
The champion squeezes tightly, attempting to compress the challenger’s ribs.
Honest Abe asks whether Grondar the Revenant submits.
The challenger shakes his head.
Santa Claus increases the pressure.
Grondar the Revenant drives both arms between the champion’s grip and breaks the hold.
He steps backward, then launches forward for another Spear.
Santa Claus lowers his weight and catches the challenger before the move can fully develop.
The two struggle in the center of the ring until Santa Claus forces Grondar the Revenant down onto one knee.
Johnny Michaels: “The Candy Cane Crush placed enormous pressure across the challenger’s body, but Grondar refused to submit.”
Eddie Ellington: “Of course he refused. Grondar the Revenant has survived conditions that would destroy ordinary men. A festive Bear Hug is not ending his night.”
Minute 11
Santa Claus maintains control and lifts the challenger across his body.
He drives Grondar the Revenant down with the Sleigh Ride Slam.
The champion moves toward a cover.
Before he can reach the challenger, Grondar the Revenant rises and swings one arm across Santa Claus’s chest.
The Clothesline sends the champion over the top rope.
Santa Claus lands on the arena floor.
There is no countout.
Magnus Blackwell approaches slowly.
Honest Abe warns him to keep his distance.
Eddie Ellington: “No disqualification. Magnus Blackwell may stand wherever he wishes.”
Johnny Michaels: “He cannot physically interfere without changing the integrity of the match.”
Eddie Ellington: “Integrity will not lift Santa Claus from the floor.”
Minute 12
Santa Claus climbs onto the apron.

Grondar the Revenant lifts Santa Claus vertically and holds him above the canvas.
He falls backward and completes the Vertical Suplex.
The champion lands hard near the center of the ring.
Johnny Michaels: “The Reindeer Charge connected, but Grondar turned the collision into a Vertical Suplex.”
Eddie Ellington: “That is superiority. Santa Claus provided the momentum, and Grondar decided where it ended.”
Minute 13
Santa Claus rolls toward the ropes.
At ringside, Magnus Blackwell begins shouting toward the champion.
Magnus Blackwell: “Look at him, Claus.”
Santa Claus raises his head.
Magnus Blackwell points toward Grondar the Revenant.
Magnus Blackwell: “That is the future of the North. Not songs. Not hope. Strength.”
Santa Claus pulls himself upright.
Magnus Blackwell: “Your friends could not save you last night. They cannot save you now.”
The champion steps toward the ropes.
Honest Abe moves between Santa Claus and the manager.
The distraction allows Grondar the Revenant to recover behind him.
Johnny Michaels: “Magnus Blackwell is deliberately provoking the champion and drawing his attention away from Grondar.”
Eddie Ellington: “He is presenting a philosophical argument.”
Johnny Michaels: “During a championship match.”
Eddie Ellington: “The best debates occur under pressure.”
Minute 14
Santa Claus turns back toward the challenger.
Magnus Blackwell immediately climbs onto the apron.
He raises the cane and begins shouting at Honest Abe.
The referee turns toward him and orders him down.
Behind the referee, Grondar the Revenant strikes Santa Claus with a forearm to the back of the head.
The challenger pulls the champion upright and drives him into the canvas with a short Powerslam.
Grondar the Revenant makes the cover.
Honest Abe turns and counts one … Two …
Santa Claus lifts one shoulder.
The crowd erupts.
Magnus Blackwell strikes the apron with his cane in frustration.
Johnny Michaels: “The distraction nearly handed Grondar the Revenant the North Pole Championship.”
Eddie Ellington: “The challenger still had to complete the attack. Magnus Blackwell did not perform the Powerslam.”
Johnny Michaels: “He prevented Santa Claus from seeing it coming.”
Eddie Ellington: “Awareness is part of championship competition.”
Minute 15
Grondar the Revenant moves to the opposite corner.
He lowers his body and waits.
Santa Claus uses the ropes to pull himself upright.
The champion turns.
Grondar the Revenant charges.
The Spear drives through Santa Claus and folds him against the canvas.
The challenger hooks both legs.
Honest Abe counts one … Two …
Santa Claus forces one shoulder upward.
The crowd explodes.
Grondar the Revenant rises immediately and grabs the referee by the front of his shirt.
Honest Abe points directly at him and warns that the match will not continue if the official is attacked.
Magnus Blackwell shouts for Grondar the Revenant to release him.
The challenger pushes Honest Abe away and returns to the corner.
Johnny Michaels: “Santa Claus survives the Spear. Somehow, the champion found enough strength to escape before three.”
Eddie Ellington: “He delayed the inevitable by one count. Grondar is already preparing to strike again.”
Johnny Michaels: “The champion has absorbed The Aftermath, repeated uppercuts, and now the Spear. He continues refusing to surrender.”
Eddie Ellington: “Refusal does not equal survival.”
Minute 16
Santa Claus remains on one knee.
The crowd rises around him.
SANTA! SANTA! SANTA!
Santa Claus places one hand against the canvas and begins to stand.
Grondar the Revenant watches from the corner.
Magnus Blackwell raises his cane and points toward the champion.
Magnus Blackwell: “Now.”
Grondar the Revenant charges.
Santa Claus attempts to turn away.
The challenger drives through him with another Spear.
The impact sends both men across the ring.
Santa Claus lands flat on his back.
Grondar the Revenant crawls over him and presses both shoulders against the canvas.
Honest Abe counts one … Two … THREE! The bell rings.
For several seconds, Scrooge’s Glacier Plex falls silent.
Grondar the Revenant remains across Santa Claus.
Magnus Blackwell drops the cane and raises both arms.
The timekeeper hands the North Pole Championship to Honest Abe.
The referee looks toward Santa Claus, then toward the new champion.
Johnny Michaels: “The second Spear has ended the match. Grondar the Revenant has defeated Santa Claus.”
Eddie Ellington: “The North has a new ruler. Strength has defeated sentiment, and Magnus Blackwell was right.”
Johnny Michaels: “Santa Claus fought through everything the challenger and Magnus Blackwell placed in front of him, but he could not survive the final Spear.”
Eddie Ellington: “There are no qualifications attached to the result. Grondar the Revenant pinned the champion in the center of the ring.”
Celeste Orion enters.
Honest Abe presents the championship to Grondar the Revenant.
The challenger takes the belt in both hands.
He looks down at the North Pole Championship as though examining an object taken from a defeated enemy.
Then he raises it above his head.
Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winner and new NPCW North Pole Champion, Grondar the Revenant.”
The crowd responds with stunned boos.
Magnus Blackwell enters the ring and stands beside the new champion.
He takes the championship from Grondar the Revenant and fastens it around his waist.
Grondar the Revenant looks down at Santa Claus.
The former champion remains on the canvas.
Magnus Blackwell retrieves the cane and points toward him.
Eddie Ellington: “This is the image that will define Polar Meltdown. Santa Claus fallen, Grondar the Revenant standing, and the North Pole Championship belonging to the strongest force in the division.”
Johnny Michaels: “The result is official, but Magnus Blackwell’s repeated involvement influenced this match.”
Eddie Ellington: “No disqualification means no excuses.”
Johnny Michaels: “No disqualification makes the actions legal. It does not make them honorable.”
Eddie Ellington: “Honor is what defeated champions discuss while the winner carries the title.”
Grondar the Revenant places one boot against Santa Claus’s chest.
The crowd boos louder.
Honest Abe tells the new champion to move away.
Magnus Blackwell steps between the referee and Grondar the Revenant.
The new champion raises both arms.
The North Pole Championship shines around his waist.
Then Santa Claus’s hand closes around Grondar the Revenant’s ankle.
The crowd erupts.
Grondar the Revenant looks down.
Santa Claus pushes the boot away and rolls onto one knee.
Magnus Blackwell shouts for the new champion to attack.
Grondar the Revenant draws back one fist.
Before he can strike, Honest Abe and several security officials enter between them.
Santa Claus uses the ropes to pull himself upright.
He looks across the ring at the new champion.
There is pain in his expression.
There is disappointment.
But there is no surrender.
The crowd begins chanting.
THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES!
Grondar the Revenant raises the championship again.
Santa Claus remains standing across from him.
Johnny Michaels: “Grondar the Revenant has won the North Pole Championship, but the message from this audience is clear. The North did not end with the result of one match.”
Eddie Ellington: “The audience may chant whatever helps them sleep. The championship is around Grondar’s waist.”
Johnny Michaels: “Tonight, the challenger was stronger. Tonight, the Spear ended the reign of Santa Claus.”
Eddie Ellington: “Not the challenger, Johnny. The champion.”
Johnny Michaels: “You are correct. The new North Pole Champion, Grondar the Revenant.”
GRONDAR THE REVENANT DEFEATS SANTA CLAUS VIA PINFALL AT THE 16:00 MINUTE MARK TO WIN THE NPCW NORTH POLE CHAMPIONSHIP.
The camera remains fixed on the ring.
Grondar the Revenant stands at its center with the NPCW North Pole Championship raised above his head.
Magnus Blackwell remains beside him, one hand resting against the head of his cane and a satisfied smile across his face.
Red and blue lights move across the arena as the new champion lowers the title and secures it around his waist.
At the top of the entrance ramp, Santa Claus stops.
He turns his head and looks back over one shoulder.
For several seconds, the former champion and Grondar the Revenant stare across Scrooge’s Glacier Plex at one another.
Grondar the Revenant places one hand across the championship and raises the other toward Santa Claus.
The crowd continues chanting.
THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES! THE NORTH ENDURES!
Santa Claus looks out across the audience.
He gives the smallest nod. Then he turns and walks through the curtain.
Johnny Michaels: “NPCW Polar Meltdown ends with a new North Pole Champion. Grondar the Revenant has defeated Santa Claus and claimed the most important championship in the Polar Division.”
Eddie Ellington: “Exactly as Magnus Blackwell promised. The strongest force in the North now carries its championship.”
Johnny Michaels: “Tonight also saw Crimson Viper win the Aurora Championship Tournament, Ultimate Beasts capture the Universal Tag Team Championship, and Ghost of Christmas Past retain the Universal Championship.”
The camera cuts briefly through images from the evening.
Crimson Viper wearing her crown.
Karnyx and Varak raising the Universal Tag Team Championship belts.
Ghost of Christmas Past standing over Frosty.
The footage changes.
Mr. Mason staring at the image of his captive wife.
Marax the Deceiver striking Krampus with the iron spike.
Infernus Rex standing beside Count Vlad.
Johnny Michaels: “We also leave tonight with difficult questions. Edie Hartwell Mason remains captive. The identity and intentions of the Master of the Night remain unknown. Mr. Mason has begun investigating the compromised broadcast from inside this building.”
Eddie Ellington: “He lost the match and immediately started interrogating employees. That sounds less like an investigation and more like a man refusing to accept responsibility.”
Johnny Michaels: “And we still do not know why Marax the Deceiver betrayed Krampus inside the Rings of Hell.”
Eddie Ellington: “He chose the winning side. People make intelligent decisions occasionally.”
Johnny Michaels: “That decision handed victory to Infernus Rex and may have changed the balance of power throughout the Polar Division.”
The camera returns to the ring.
Grondar the Revenant stands on the middle turnbuckle with the North Pole Championship held above his head.
Magnus Blackwell points toward the title and shouts at the crowd to acknowledge the new champion.
Johnny Michaels: “Above all else, the reign of Santa Claus has ended. The North Pole Championship now belongs to Grondar the Revenant.”
Eddie Ellington: “The age of belief is over. The age of strength has begun.”
Johnny Michaels: “That remains to be seen. Santa Claus left this arena standing, and the Polar Division has never been defined by one defeat.”
Eddie Ellington: “It is defined by the man holding the championship.”
Johnny Michaels: “Thank you to everyone here at Scrooge’s Glacier Plex and everyone watching around the NPCW Universe.”
The final wide shot shows Grondar the Revenant alone at the center of the ring, the North Pole Championship shining beneath the arena lights.
Johnny Michaels: “For Eddie Ellington, I am Johnny Michaels. Join us Saturday, August 1, for the next edition of Polar Power.”
Eddie Ellington: “Come prepared to acknowledge the new North Pole Champion.”
Johnny Michaels: “Good night from NPCW Polar Meltdown.”
The Polar Meltdown logo fills the screen.
The final image returns once more to Grondar the Revenant raising the championship as the broadcast fades to black.
