Airing before Polar Power Episode 064 — July 18, 2026
This picks up directly after the epilogue of The Dracula Chronicles Episode 002, where Polly reluctantly leaves Castle Dracula after learning that Edie remains herself, knows the rescue team came for her, and is still alive inside the castle.
Location — The Misfits of Mayhem’s private quarters, North Pole
The room has been cleaned.
That alone makes it feel wrong.
The usual clutter of half-finished meals, wrestling gear, travel bags, and discarded paperwork has been reduced to neat stacks. The furniture has been straightened. The lights are low. A kettle sits on the small kitchen counter beside two untouched mugs.
One belongs to Jack Mason.
The other belongs to Edie.
Jack sits at the table wearing a burgundy cardigan over a white dress shirt. His wedding ring catches the light whenever his hand moves.
It has not moved much.
Across the room, Negropolis stands near the window with his arms folded. Snow moves past the glass in long white sheets, but he is not watching the storm.
He is watching Jack.
Jack has been waiting for hours.
He has not paced.
He has not shouted.
He has not broken anything.
That worries Negropolis more than all three would have.
A clock ticks softly on the wall.
Jack reaches across the table and adjusts Edie’s mug so that its handle faces the chair where she normally sits.
Perfectly aligned.
The sound of approaching footsteps comes from the corridor.
Many footsteps.
Some heavy.
Some uneven.
One hurried.
Negropolis turns toward the door.
Jack does not.
The door opens.
Night Watcher enters first, his dark coat marked by frost and travel. Agent Buckle follows, clutching his field timer as though he has forgotten how to put it away. Niven and Tobias Snake come next, both exhausted and alert despite the safety of the North Pole.
Carmilla enters behind them.
Her clothing is torn near one shoulder. Dried blood marks the edge of her coat. Her expression carries the bitterness of someone who came close enough to touch victory and watched it disappear.
Mina Harker follows her.
Then Leiton Snake steps through the doorway.
Polly Mason is beside him.
For the first time that evening, Jack moves.
The chair slides back.
He crosses the room quickly but without panic.
Polly stops just inside the doorway.
Her hair is tangled. Her clothing is damaged and stained from the laboratory and the escape through the Vale. There are bruises along her wrists where restraints had held her.
For one terrible moment, brother and sister simply look at one another.
Polly had rehearsed this conversation all the way home.
She had prepared explanations.
Apologies.
Warnings.
None of them survive seeing him.
POLLY MASON
Jackie—
Jack pulls her into his arms.
The force of the embrace lifts Polly slightly from the floor.
Her face crumples.
She clutches the back of his cardigan with both hands and buries her face against his shoulder.
Jack closes his eyes.
The careful control leaves his expression for only a second.
Relief.
Pure and unguarded.
JACK MASON
You’re home.
Polly tries to speak, but the words do not come.
Jack holds her tighter.
JACK MASON
You’re safe.
That is what matters right now.
Polly shakes her head against him.
POLLY MASON
No.
Jack opens his eyes.
POLLY MASON
No, it isn’t.
She pulls away just enough to look at him.
Tears streak down her face, but her voice is firm.
POLLY MASON
Edie isn’t here.
Jack’s hands remain on his sister’s shoulders.
His eyes move beyond her.
First to Leiton.
Then Carmilla.
Then Mina.
No one looks away.
Jack already knew what their faces meant.
He simply needed someone to say it.
JACK MASON
Tell me.
Polly swallows.
POLLY MASON
We were together in Moreau’s laboratory. He had us behind glass like animals in a display case. He kept talking about experiments. About what he had done to me before. About what he thought he could still do.
Jack’s thumb brushes gently over one of the bruises on her wrist.
His expression does not change.
POLLY MASON
Violetta Voss was there with him.
A faint tightening appears at the corner of Jack’s mouth.
Negropolis notices.
Polly continues.
POLLY MASON
Then Dracula came.
The room becomes still.
Even the clock seems louder.
POLLY MASON
He told Moreau he could do what he wanted with me.
Leiton’s jaw clenches.
Polly glances toward him before looking back at Jack.
POLLY MASON
But Edie was different. Dracula ordered them not to hurt her. He took her away from the laboratory.
Jack’s voice remains soft.
JACK MASON
Did you see her before he took her?
POLLY MASON
Yes.
JACK MASON
Was she hurt?
POLLY MASON
Scared. Angry. Still fighting.
Polly presses her lips together.
POLLY MASON
Still Edie.
Jack looks toward Carmilla.
JACK MASON
And after?
Carmilla steps forward.
She carries the answer like a wound.
CARMILLA NOCTURNE
I found her with Dracula.
Jack releases Polly’s shoulders and turns fully toward Carmilla.
CARMILLA NOCTURNE
She was alive. Conscious. Still resisting him.
JACK MASON
Did she know you were there?
CARMILLA NOCTURNE
Yes.
A pause.
CARMILLA NOCTURNE
She knows we came for her.
Polly’s eyes close briefly.
The same truth that had helped her leave the Vale now sounds crueler in this room.
POLLY MASON
And she knows we left without her.
Jack looks at his sister.
JACK MASON
No.
Polly stares at him.
JACK MASON
She knows the first attempt failed.
He turns Edie’s wedding ring around his finger once.
Slowly.
Deliberately.
JACK MASON
That is not the same thing as leaving her.
Night Watcher steps closer.
NIGHT WATCHER
Dracula sealed the castle before we could reach her again. Continuing would have sacrificed everyone without changing the result.
Jack looks at him.
There is no anger in his face.
That almost makes the exchange more uncomfortable.
JACK MASON
You brought my sister home.
Night Watcher says nothing.
JACK MASON
Thank you.
The words are sincere.
Night Watcher inclines his head.
NIGHT WATCHER
We will return for Edie.
MINA HARKER
Dracula wants her alive.
Every eye turns toward Mina.
She does not soften the statement.
MINA HARKER
That gives us time. It does not guarantee her safety, but he will not permit Moreau to destroy something he has claimed for himself.
Jack studies her.
JACK MASON
Claimed.
Mina recognizes the danger in that single word.
MINA HARKER
Dracula’s belief is not reality.
JACK MASON
No.
Jack looks toward Edie’s empty chair.
JACK MASON
It is a misunderstanding.
He walks back to the table and picks up Edie’s mug.
For a moment, everyone expects him to throw it.
Instead, Jack carries it to the sink, pours out the cold tea, rinses the mug, and places it carefully on the drying cloth.
He turns back to the room.
His posture is straight.
His hands are relaxed.
His voice is almost gentle.
JACK MASON
We are not going to panic.
Polly watches him carefully.
She knows every version of her brother.
This one is still new to her.
JACK MASON
We are not going to storm a castle without a plan. We are not going to let Dracula choose the classroom, write the rules, and decide who gets punished.
Negropolis slowly unfolds his arms.
JACK MASON
People like Dracula and Moreau believe fear makes them teachers.
A small smile appears.
There is no warmth in it.
JACK MASON
They are mistaken.
Agent Buckle glances at Night Watcher.
Buckle has heard many threats in his career.
Few have sounded so polite.
AGENT BUCKLE
For procedural clarity, are we discussing another extraction operation or—
JACK MASON
Eventually.
Jack adjusts one cuff.
JACK MASON
But first, we teach them that taking Edie was expensive.
He looks at Polly.
JACK MASON
They have people here.
Polly’s breathing steadies.
She understands.
JACK MASON
People who compete in our rings. People who enjoy the protection of contracts, officials, cameras, and rules.
His wedding ring flashes beneath the light.
JACK MASON
That means they have placed themselves somewhere I can reach them.
Negropolis steps away from the window.
NEGROPOLIS
You think beating their associates will force Dracula to negotiate?
JACK MASON
No.
Jack’s smile remains.
JACK MASON
I think every lesson requires repetition.
He begins counting softly on his fingers.
JACK MASON
Moreau.
A finger.
JACK MASON
His creatures.
Another.
JACK MASON
Anyone who helped him enter the chapel.
Another.
JACK MASON
Anyone who protects him now.
Jack lowers his hand.
JACK MASON
One match at a time, we remove the pieces between us and Edie.
Carmilla studies him with visible concern.
CARMILLA NOCTURNE
Dracula is not a wrestler playing politics, Jack. He will not be embarrassed into returning her.
JACK MASON
I know.
He meets her eyes.
JACK MASON
But men who believe they are kings always make the same mistake.
CARMILLA NOCTURNE
Which is?
JACK MASON
They confuse having subjects with having friends.
The answer hangs in the room.
Jack turns back toward Polly.
His expression softens.
Genuinely this time.
JACK MASON
You do not have to fight tonight.
Polly wipes the tears from her face with the heel of her hand.
POLLY MASON
I know.
JACK MASON
You have been through enough.
POLLY MASON
I know that too.
She steps closer to him.
The sadness remains, but something harder has begun replacing it.
POLLY MASON
But Violetta Voss is mine.
Jack studies her.
Polly does not blink.
POLLY MASON
She stood beside Moreau and took notes while he talked about me like I was an old experiment he wanted to reopen.
Her voice lowers.
POLLY MASON
She looked at Edie and pretended she was still a doctor.
Polly’s hands curl into fists.
POLLY MASON
So when Voss comes back to the North Pole, no one touches her before I do.
Leiton looks prepared to object.
One glance from Polly stops him.
POLLY MASON
Moreau can hide behind monsters. Dracula can hide behind a castle.
A thin, dangerous smile crosses her face.
POLLY MASON
Violetta signed a wrestling contract.
Jack slowly nods.
JACK MASON
Then we will ask management to arrange an appointment.
POLLY MASON
I’m not asking her anything.
JACK MASON
Of course not.
Jack places a hand on his sister’s shoulder.
JACK MASON
The appointment is for her benefit.
For the first time since entering the room, Polly almost laughs.
It is a small sound.
Broken at the edges.
But it is there.
Jack pulls her into another embrace.
This one is gentler.
JACK MASON
I’m glad you’re home, Polly.
Her eyes close.
POLLY MASON
I’m sorry Edie isn’t.
Jack rests his cheek briefly against the top of her head.
JACK MASON
You do not apologize for surviving.
Polly’s grip tightens around him.
Across the room, Mina looks away.
Carmilla lowers her head.
Night Watcher turns toward the others.
NIGHT WATCHER
Van Helsing needs the full report before the next operation is discussed.
Niven nods.
NIVEN SNAKE
He will want every route, every guard position, and everything we saw inside Moreau’s laboratory.
TOBIAS SNAKE
Including Voss.
Polly lifts her head from Jack’s shoulder.
POLLY MASON
Tell Van Helsing he can have every detail.
She looks toward the door.
POLLY MASON
But Voss still belongs to me.
Tobias gives her a tired nod.
TOBIAS SNAKE
Understood.
Leiton hesitates beside Polly.
She sees the question in his face.
POLLY MASON
Go.
LEITON SNAKE
Polly—
POLLY MASON
I’m with Jack.
Her eyes shift briefly toward Negropolis.
POLLY MASON
And Negropolis.
Negropolis gives the faintest nod.
Leiton reaches out and squeezes Polly’s hand.
LEITON SNAKE
I’ll come back after the report.
POLLY MASON
You’d better.
One by one, the rescue team departs.
Night Watcher first.
Agent Buckle behind him, checking the timer despite there being nothing left to time.
Niven and Tobias follow.
Mina pauses at the doorway and looks back at Jack.
MINA HARKER
Edie resisted Dracula when others could not.
Jack meets her gaze.
MINA HARKER
Remember that when fear tells you she is already lost.
JACK MASON
Fear does not teach this class.
Mina holds his gaze for a moment.
Then she leaves.
Carmilla remains.
She looks toward Polly, then Jack.
CARMILLA NOCTURNE
I told Edie we would return.
JACK MASON
Then we should avoid making liars of ourselves.
Carmilla accepts the answer with a small nod and follows the others.
Leiton is the last to leave.
The door closes behind him.
Silence settles over the room.
Jack, Polly, and Negropolis remain.
The Misfits.
Or what is left of them tonight.
Polly sits at the table in Edie’s chair.
She realizes it immediately and begins to rise.
Jack places a hand gently on her shoulder.
JACK MASON
Stay.
He moves to the counter and prepares fresh tea.
Negropolis watches him.
NEGROPOLIS
You are taking this very well.
Jack places a teabag into a mug.
JACK MASON
No.
He pours the hot water.
JACK MASON
I am taking it carefully.
Negropolis’s eyes narrow behind his mask.
Jack carries the mug to Polly and places it before her.
JACK MASON
Careful people make fewer mistakes.
Polly wraps both hands around the warmth.
POLLY MASON
You’re angry.
Jack sits across from her.
JACK MASON
Very.
POLLY MASON
You don’t look angry.
Jack smiles.
JACK MASON
That is why it will be such an effective lesson.
A heavy knock strikes the door.
All three turn.
Negropolis moves first.
He opens it.
Bigfoot stands in the corridor.
Snow clings to the thick fur around his shoulders. His breathing is heavy, as though he has crossed a great distance quickly. There are fresh scratches along one forearm, and something in his expression immediately removes any thought that this is a casual visit.
Negropolis steps aside.
NEGROPOLIS
You’re back.
Bigfoot enters and looks around the room.
His gaze passes over Polly.
Then Jack.
Then the empty chair beside him.
Bigfoot’s attention returns to Negropolis.
BIGFOOT
Need speak.
Negropolis waits.
Bigfoot glances toward Jack and Polly.
BIGFOOT
Private.
Jack leans back in his chair.
He appears unconcerned.
Negropolis knows him well enough to understand that appearance means nothing.
NEGROPOLIS
Now?
Bigfoot nods.
Once.
BIGFOOT
Now.
Negropolis studies his partner for a long moment.
Then he looks toward Jack.
Jack calmly lifts Polly’s untouched mug and nudges it closer to her.
JACK MASON
Go ahead.
Negropolis steps into the corridor with Bigfoot.
Before closing the door, he looks back once.
Jack sits across from Polly beneath the warm light, wedding ring visible, speaking to her in a voice too low to hear.
Calm.
Patient.
Planning.
The door shuts.
Bigfoot waits until they are alone.
Negropolis turns toward him.
NEGROPOLIS
What happened?
Bigfoot looks toward the closed door.
Then back at Negropolis.
His voice drops to a rough whisper.
BIGFOOT
Not here.
The two disappear down the corridor.
Inside the room, Jack reaches for a blank sheet of paper.
At the top, in careful handwriting, he writes two words:
LESSON ONE
Fade to black.
