RANKINGS

FALSE LIGHT FORGE INTERLUDE 008 “The Proposal”

OPENING

The broadcast opens inside the Iron Ring Academy.

No pyro.

No elaborate entrance set.

Just the hard white overhead lights, exposed steel, concrete walls and the Academy ring sitting in the middle of a tightly packed studio crowd.

The noise is noticeably different tonight.

There is excitement.

But there is tension beneath it.

Eight weeks ago, every wrestler in the Quarter Three tournaments had possibilities.

Tonight, some of those possibilities have already disappeared.

The camera moves across the tournament board beside the entranceway.

One name is marked in blue.

CORVINA ASH — QUALIFIED

Another is marked in red.

BELLA AURELIA — ELIMINATED

Then the camera settles on the commentary desk.

Paul Redford has four match sheets spread in front of him alongside the updated block standings.

Beside him, Dave “The Brute” Kent studies the tournament board.

Paul Redford: “Welcome to Iron Ring: The Crucible. We are live from the Iron Ring Academy on August 27, 2026, and tonight begins Week Eight of Quarter Three block competition.”

Dave continues looking toward the standings.

Dave Kent: “And now everybody knows the Crucible eventually stops asking questions.”

Paul turns toward him.

Dave Kent: “Last week it started giving answers.”

The studio screen changes.

LAST WEEK — THE FIRST VERDICTS

A rapid montage begins.

Santelina launches the Front Dropkick.

Corvina Ash catches the transition.

Legs trapped.

Turn.

OMEN LOCK.

Santelina struggles only briefly.

Submission.

The bell rings.

The graphic appears.

CORVINA ASH — 5 POINTS

TOP TWO — CLINCHED

Paul Redford: “Corvina Ash required only two minutes to submit Santelina and become the first wrestler in either Quarter Three tournament to mathematically secure a semifinal position.”

Dave Kent: “That is what finishing looks like. Corvina spent twenty minutes earlier this quarter discovering what she could not finish against Beatrice Boup. Against LEXA-9 she found the opening. Against Santelina she needed one transition.”

The replay freezes with Corvina seated deeply in the Omen Lock.

Dave Kent: “Five points. Qualification secured. Now every match Corvina wrestles is about where she enters the semifinals.”

Cut.

Dante Rook lifts Nikolas Nocturne.

CHECKMATE DRIVER.

One.

Two.

Kickout.

Later—

Nikolas launches the Diving Double Stomp to the floor.

Dante barely beats the count at nine.

Then—

Arm trapped.

Turn.

OMOPLATA CROSSFACE.

Dante fights.

Dante submits.

The standings fill the screen.

IRON GENERAL — HAMMER BLOCK

Dante Rook — 4

Owen Starling — 4

Nikolas Nocturne — 4

Piers Holloway — 2

Eirik Ironward — 0

Then the head-to-head results appear.

DANTE defeated OWEN

OWEN defeated NIKOLAS

NIKOLAS defeated DANTE

Paul Redford: “Nikolas Nocturne prevented Dante Rook from securing control of the Hammer Block and created a three-way tie at four points.”

Dave stares at the circular head-to-head results.

Dave Kent: “This is why points only tell part of the story.”

He points toward the screen.

Dave Kent: “Dante beat Owen. Owen beat Nikolas. Nikolas beat Dante. Nobody gets to point at another man and claim clean superiority.”

The four beside Owen Starling becomes highlighted.

Paul Redford: “And tonight, Owen Starling is the first member of that three-way tie to wrestle his final block match.”

Cut.

Sorina and Holly Vale exchange attacks.

Holly drives Sorina down with the Implant DDT.

The Back Handspring Twisting Senton.

Cover.

One.

Two.

Sorina survives.

Then Sorina traps Holly repeatedly in the Chickenwing Neckscissors.

Holly refuses to submit.

The clock reaches twenty.

Bell.

The graphic appears.

SORINA AND HOLLY VALE — 20-MINUTE DRAW

The standings follow.

Lenore Valmont — 5

Holly Vale — 4

Sorina — 3

Bella Aurelia — 1

Bridget O’Hare — 1

Paul Redford: “Holly Vale earned another point and moved within one of block leader Lenore Valmont.”

The screen shows:

SORINA — THREE MATCHES — THREE DRAWS

Dave Kent: “And the reigning Iron Maiden Champion remained unbeaten.”

A pause.

Dave Kent: “And remained winless.”

Footage rolls of Bella Aurelia approaching Holly after the match.

Bella points toward the cheering crowd.

Holly listens.

Bella holds four fingers in the air.

Paul Redford: “But perhaps the larger development came afterward. Bella Aurelia continued encouraging Holly to become more aggressive and less concerned with whether the Academy crowd approves of her.”

Holly holds Sorina against the ropes until the referee reaches four.

Then another clip.

Holly pulls Sorina by the hair.

Dave Kent: “Some of Bella's advice improved Holly.”

Another clip.

The referee warning Holly.

Dave Kent: “Some of it damaged her discipline.”

Bella applauds from ringside.

Dave Kent: “The dangerous part is Bella is teaching her those are the same thing.”

The screen freezes.

Then Bella's name appears.

BELLA AURELIA — 1 POINT

Below it—

ELIMINATED

The crowd reacts.

Paul Redford: “And by the end of the night, the mathematics became unavoidable. Bella Aurelia can no longer finish in the top two of the Iron Maiden Anvil Block.”

Dave looks toward the red elimination marker.

Dave Kent: “Which makes tonight interesting.”

Paul Redford: “Because Bella still has one match remaining.”

Dave Kent: “Exactly.”

A beat.

Dave Kent: “She cannot save her own tournament.”

He looks directly toward the camera.

Dave Kent: “But she can still ruin somebody else's.”

Cut.

Boreas Gale drives Kryst Fellwinter down with Time Bomb II.

Later—

Kryst traps Boreas in the Senior Stretch.

Roundhouse Kick.

Boreas recovers.

Forearm.

Dropkick.

Then Kryst uses Boreas' momentum and sends him through the ropes.

The count begins.

Eight.

Nine.

Boreas lunges for the apron.

Ten.

Bell.

The screen changes.

KRYST FELLWINTER — 4 POINTS

Paul Redford: “And Kryst Fellwinter defeated Boreas Gale by countout to become the outright leader of the Iron General Anvil Block.”

The full standings appear.

IRON GENERAL — ANVIL BLOCK

Kryst Fellwinter — 4

Caleb Graves — 3

Dorian Argent — 3

Boreas Gale — 2

Finn Oakheart — 2

Dave Kent: “That was probably my favorite decision of the entire night.”

Paul glances sideways.

Paul Redford: “The countout?”

Dave Kent: “The judgment.”

The replay freezes with Kryst standing safely inside while Boreas struggles outside.

Dave Kent: “Kryst did not chase him because Kryst understood there were no extra points available for proving he was tougher on the floor.”

The count reaches ten again.

Dave Kent: “He found a winning position and stayed in it.”

The recap disappears.

The live camera returns to the desk.

Behind them, all four current block standings appear simultaneously.

Paul Redford: “So we arrive tonight with the Quarter Three tournaments entering their most unforgiving stage.”

The screen enlarges the Iron General Hammer Block.

Dante Rook — 4

Owen Starling — 4

Nikolas Nocturne — 4

Piers Holloway — 2

Eirik Ironward — 0

Paul Redford: “Three wrestlers share the lead in the men’s Hammer Block.”

Dave Kent: “And one of them finishes his schedule tonight.”

The screen changes.

MATCH 1 — IRON GENERAL HAMMER BLOCK

OWEN STARLING vs EIRIK IRONWARD

Footage shows Owen Starling driving Piers Holloway down with the Spin Out Powerbomb.

One.

Two.

Three.

The graphic appears.

OWEN STARLING — 4 POINTS

FINAL BLOCK MATCH

Paul Redford: “Owen Starling enters with four points. This is his final opportunity to add to that total.”

Another graphic appears.

OWEN WIN = 6 POINTS

Paul Redford: “A victory moves Owen to six and forces Dante Rook and Nikolas Nocturne to respond in their remaining matches.”

The screen shifts to Eirik Ironward.

Zero points.

Two matches remaining.

EIRIK IRONWARD — 0 POINTS

Then—

MUST WIN

Paul Redford: “For Eirik Ironward, the equation is considerably harsher.”

Dave leans forward.

Dave Kent: “There is no useful draw.”

A beat.

Dave Kent: “There is no moral victory.”

Another.

Dave Kent: “There is no impressive loss that Hammer Washington can write down and somehow convert into tournament points.”

The zero beside Eirik remains on screen.

Dave Kent: “Eirik needs to win.”

Paul Redford: “Two remaining matches give Eirik a possible maximum of four points.”

Dave Kent: “Which means he needs both victories. Anything less than two points tonight and the arithmetic shuts the door.”

The graphic changes.

MATCH 2 — IRON MAIDEN HAMMER BLOCK

BEATRICE BOUP vs PROTOTYPE LEXA-9

The standings appear.

Corvina Ash — 5 — QUALIFIED

Beatrice Boup — 4

Santelina — 2

Esme Nightshade — 2

Prototype LEXA-9 — 1

Paul Redford: “One semifinal position in the women’s Hammer Block already belongs to Corvina Ash.”

The blue qualification marker appears beside Corvina.

Dave Kent: “Which means everybody below her is fighting over one remaining chair.”

Footage shows Beatrice Boup surviving twenty minutes against Corvina Ash.

Then Beatrice defeating Santelina.

Then another twenty-minute struggle with Esme Nightshade.

The four remains beside her name.

Paul Redford: “Beatrice Boup enters her final block match with four points.”

The graphic changes.

BEATRICE WIN = 6 POINTS

TOP TWO — GUARANTEED

Paul Redford: “If Beatrice defeats Prototype LEXA-9, she guarantees herself a place in the semifinals.”

Dave Kent: “No waiting.”

A beat.

Dave Kent: “No tiebreakers.”

Another.

Dave Kent: “No watching somebody else's match and hoping they solve your problem.”

He points toward Beatrice's four.

Dave Kent: “Win. Reach six. Advance.”

The image shifts toward Prototype LEXA-9.

PROTOTYPE LEXA-9 — 1 POINT

TWO MATCHES REMAINING

Paul Redford: “LEXA-9 still has two block matches remaining and still has mathematical life.”

Dave Kent: “Then she had better start behaving like something alive.”

The comment hangs.

Dave Kent: “One point this late in the quarter means potential has already stopped being enough.”

The graphic changes.

MATCH 3 — IRON MAIDEN ANVIL BLOCK

BELLA AURELIA vs BRIDGET O’HARE

Bella appears first.

Immediately beneath her name—

ELIMINATED

The camera briefly shows several members of the crowd reacting.

Paul Redford: “Bella Aurelia enters tonight knowing her Quarter Three championship path is finished.”

Footage shows Bella speaking to Holly Vale last week.

Bella telling Holly to ignore the crowd.

Bella holding up four fingers.

Then—

The image switches to Bridget O’Hare.

BRIDGET O’HARE — 1 POINT

TWO MATCHES REMAINING

Paul Redford: “Bridget O’Hare enters with the same one point—but a very different situation.”

Dave Kent: “Bridget still has something Bella doesn't.”

A beat.

Dave Kent: “A future in this tournament.”

The graphic flashes.

BRIDGET NEEDS A WIN

Paul Redford: “Bridget needs victory tonight to preserve her path through the final stretch.”

Dave looks toward Bella's elimination marker.

Dave Kent: “And Bella knows it.”

Footage of Bella's conversation with Holly plays again.

Dave Kent: “Do not underestimate how dangerous that makes her.”

Paul Redford: “Because she can play spoiler?”

Dave Kent: “Because Bella has spent the last several weeks telling Holly Vale not to care what anybody thinks.”

He points toward Bella's name.

Dave Kent: “Now we find out what Bella Aurelia looks like when the standings have stopped giving her anything to care about.”

The screen darkens.

Then the final match graphic appears.

The Academy crowd becomes noticeably louder.

MAIN EVENT — IRON GENERAL ANVIL BLOCK

FINN OAKHEART vs DORIAN ARGENT

The standings fill the entire screen.

Kryst Fellwinter — 4

Caleb Graves — 3

Dorian Argent — 3

Boreas Gale — 2

Finn Oakheart — 2

Footage shows Finn Oakheart against Caleb Graves.

Running Powerbomb.

Finn stays attached.

Hooks the leg.

One.

Two.

Three.

Paul Redford: “Two weeks ago, Finn Oakheart finally turned enormous physical ability into his first tournament victory.”

The graphic appears.

FINN OAKHEART — 2 POINTS

FINAL BLOCK MATCH

Paul Redford: “Tonight is Finn's final block match.”

Dave immediately responds.

Dave Kent: “Then there is no complicated explanation.”

The screen flashes.

FINN MUST WIN

Dave Kent: “Two points.”

He taps the desk.

Dave Kent: “Or he's finished.”

Paul Redford: “A Finn victory moves him to four points and keeps him directly involved in the semifinal race.”

The graphic changes.

FINN WIN = 4 POINTS

Then—

DORIAN ARGENT — 3 POINTS

TWO MATCHES REMAINING

Footage shows Dorian's earlier Backbreaker.

Knee Drop.

Three-count.

Paul Redford: “Dorian Argent enters with three points and still has another match remaining after tonight.”

The screen displays:

DORIAN WIN = 5 POINTS

Paul Redford: “A victory sends Dorian to five points and past Kryst Fellwinter into outright first place.”

Dave looks between the two names.

Dave Kent: “That is why this is the Main Event.”

The screen splits.

On one side:

FINN OAKHEART — WIN OR GO HOME

On the other:

DORIAN ARGENT — WIN AND TAKE FIRST

Dave Kent: “Finn is fighting because there is no tomorrow.”

He points toward Dorian.

Dave Kent: “Dorian is fighting because tomorrow can look considerably better if he takes care of tonight.”

The full card appears.

TONIGHT — CRUCIBLE 030

MATCH 3 — IRON MAIDEN ANVIL BLOCK

MAIN EVENT — IRON GENERAL ANVIL BLOCK

Paul looks toward the tournament board.

Paul Redford: “One wrestler has already advanced.”

Corvina Ash — QUALIFIED.

Paul Redford: “One wrestler has already been eliminated.”

Bella Aurelia — ELIMINATED.

Then the screen cycles through tonight's stakes.

EIRIK — MUST WIN

BEATRICE — CAN QUALIFY

BRIDGET — NEEDS VICTORY

FINN — FINAL MATCH

DORIAN — CAN TAKE FIRST

Dave watches each one appear.

Dave Kent: “That's what eight weeks does.”

Paul looks toward him.

Dave Kent: “Early in the quarter, one bad night is a lesson.”

The Eirik graphic appears.

Dave Kent: “Now one bad night can end your tournament.”

The Beatrice graphic.

Dave Kent: “One good night can put you through.”

Bella.

Dave Kent: “And once you're eliminated, your evaluation still isn't over.”

Finn.

Dave Kent: “Because Hammer Washington is still watching.”

Dorian.

Dave Kent: “And so is everybody you may have to wrestle again.”

The screen finally changes.

A single name appears.

PIERS HOLLOWAY

The noise settles slightly.

Footage flashes quickly.

Fragments of Piers' Quarter Three tournament.

Strikes.

Movement.

Losses.

Moments where opportunity appeared.

Moments where it disappeared.

No result is held long enough to become the focus.

Instead, the screen freezes on Piers standing alone inside the Academy ring.

SPOTLIGHT — PIERS HOLLOWAY

Paul Redford: “Before those four tournament matches begin, tonight's Spotlight turns toward a wrestler whose Quarter Three journey has produced considerably more questions than certainty.”

Dave watches the image.

Dave Kent: “Good.”

Paul turns.

Dave Kent: “Because eventually somebody has to stop asking what Piers Holloway could become.”

A pause.

Piers remains on the screen.

Dave Kent: “And ask him what he is becoming.”

The overhead lights lower slightly.

The tournament standings disappear.

Only Piers Holloway remains.

Paul Redford: “Every match is evidence. Every point matters. Every weakness is recorded.”

The graphic settles.

SPOTLIGHT — PIERS HOLLOWAY

Dave Kent: “And tonight, the evidence starts with him.”

Fade into the Spotlight.

SPOTLIGHT ON … Piers Holloway

“THE ROAD YOU THOUGHT YOU CHOSE”

The screen fades to black.

For several seconds, there is nothing.

Then—

A sound.

Faint.

Distant.

Someone whistling.

Only a few notes.

Simple enough to remember.

Uncomfortable enough that nobody in the Academy crowd immediately speaks over it.

The picture slowly appears.

A narrow service hallway somewhere inside the Iron Ring Academy.

Concrete walls.

Exposed pipes.

One fluorescent light flickering at the far end.

The camera begins moving toward the sound.

The whistling continues.

Slow.

Measured.

Never changing tempo.

A door stands partly open.

The camera passes through.

Training footage.

Not presented as a normal highlight package.

Fragments.

A wrestler charges toward Piers Holloway.

Piers retreats.

The wrestler accelerates.

Piers steps aside at the final moment.

The opponent crashes shoulder-first into the turnbuckles.

Black.

Another whistle.

Another fragment.

A wrestler reaches for Piers near the ropes.

Piers allows himself to be caught.

Almost.

The opponent grabs.

Piers twists away.

The wrestler's momentum carries him through the ropes.

Black.

Another note.

A third training clip.

An opponent becomes frustrated.

Piers backs away.

The opponent follows.

Piers retreats again.

The opponent swings wildly.

Piers ducks.

Trips the leg.

The opponent falls.

Piers never changes expression.

Black.

The whistling stops.

Silence.

A single fluorescent light snaps on.

Piers Holloway stands beneath it.

Dark training clothes.

Hands folded behind his back.

Perfectly still.

He looks directly toward the camera.

Not aggressively.

Almost pleasantly.

Piers Holloway: “They always think they are choosing.”

A pause.

The first training clip appears behind him.

The charging opponent.

Piers Holloway: “The attack.”

The second.

The reaching hand.

Piers Holloway: “The escape.”

The third.

The wild swing.

Piers Holloway: “The mistake.”

Piers lowers his eyes slightly.

A faint smile appears.

Piers Holloway: “I only provide the music.”

The screen cuts to black.

The whistling returns.

Different place.

Different time.

An old mill town beneath a grey sky.

Brick factories.

Boarded windows.

A rusted water tower.

Rows of narrow houses built too close together.

A river moves slowly beneath an iron bridge.

There are no people in the streets.

Only wind.

And that same whistle.

Piers Holloway: “Where I grew up, people liked stories.”

A broken mill wheel turns slightly in the wind.

Piers Holloway: “Most places do.”

A narrow street.

Old brick.

A faded sign hanging over an abandoned shop.

Piers Holloway: “Stories explain things.”

A pause.

Piers Holloway: “Things people would rather not admit were their own fault.”

Old photographs appear.

Workers outside the mill.

Families standing on porches.

Children gathered outside a school.

The photographs are ordinary.

Nothing supernatural.

Nothing theatrical.

Piers Holloway: “There was one story everybody knew.”

The whistling becomes quieter.

Piers Holloway: “A man who could make people follow.”

The camera moves slowly along the abandoned railway beside the old mill.

Piers Holloway: “Children heard it differently.”

A pause.

Piers Holloway: “Some thought he was dangerous.”

The camera passes an empty playground.

Piers Holloway: “Some thought he was magic.”

Another pause.

Piers Holloway: “Adults laughed.”

Piers appears walking alone beside the old railway.

Hands in the pockets of a dark coat.

Piers Holloway: “Adults always laugh at stories they already understand.”

He stops.

Looks toward the abandoned mill.

Piers Holloway: “Nobody forced anyone to follow.”

A beat.

Piers Holloway: “That was the part they forgot.”

The picture changes.

Old wrestling-school footage.

A younger Piers Holloway stands among several recruits.

Others are larger.

More muscular.

More explosive.

A coach points toward the ropes.

The drill begins.

One wrestler sprints.

Another throws a heavy strike.

Another executes an impressive power sequence.

Piers watches.

Quietly.

Piers Holloway: “I was never the strongest.”

A recruit presses heavy weight in the background.

Piers Holloway: “Never the fastest.”

Another explodes through a sprint drill.

Piers Holloway: “Nobody collected trophies with my name engraved on them.”

Piers steps into the ring.

A larger training partner stands opposite him.

The bell sounds.

The partner immediately advances.

Piers backs away.

Once.

Twice.

The larger wrestler becomes annoyed.

Charges.

Piers redirects him into the corner.

Piers Holloway: “But strong people become impatient.”

Another clip.

A faster wrestler circles.

Piers keeps turning.

The wrestler speeds up.

Piers slows down.

The faster man eventually overcommits.

Piers catches the leg.

Piers Holloway: “Fast people become confident.”

Another.

A decorated amateur wrestler tries repeatedly to initiate a lock-up.

Piers breaks contact.

Again.

Again.

The wrestler finally shoots aggressively.

Piers sprawls and turns him.

Piers Holloway: “And accomplished people become offended when someone refuses to be impressed.”

The younger Piers kneels beside the frustrated opponent.

He says something too quietly for the camera to hear.

The opponent shoves him.

The coach immediately intervenes.

Piers raises both hands.

Innocent.

Piers Holloway: “People said I manipulated them.”

The footage freezes.

Piers' faint smile remains.

Piers Holloway: “Interesting word.”

The image changes.

A coach speaks sharply to Piers after training.

Piers listens.

No argument.

No anger.

Another coach elsewhere.

Another conversation.

Another training room.

Piers Holloway: “One school said I disrupted training.”

Another clip.

A sparring partner ignores an instruction and goes directly after Piers.

Piers moves.

The partner hits the corner badly.

Piers Holloway: “Another said I encouraged bad decisions.”

Piers walks away from another training facility carrying a duffel bag.

Piers Holloway: “Another suggested I lacked respect for the process.”

The current Piers looks toward the camera.

Piers Holloway: “Perhaps.”

A pause.

Piers Holloway: “Or perhaps they confused obedience with learning.”

Black.

The Academy bell rings once.

The Quarter Three tournament appears.

Not standings.

Moments.

Piers Holloway inside the ring.

Watching.

Waiting.

Moving backward.

Inviting pursuit.

An opponent accelerates.

Piers changes direction.

The opponent has to adjust.

Another exchange.

Piers leaves an opening.

An opponent takes it.

Piers is already preparing the answer.

Piers Holloway: “Wrestlers talk about control.”

A hand reaches toward him.

Piers gives ground.

Piers Holloway: “They think control means holding someone.”

Another opponent presses him toward the ropes.

Piers' eyes remain calm.

Piers Holloway: “Throwing them.”

Another clip.

A heavy strike.

Piers Holloway: “Hurting them.”

The image freezes on Piers several steps away from his opponent.

Piers Holloway: “That is not control.”

Silence.

Piers walks slowly through the empty Academy.

The ring sits beneath the overhead lights.

No crowd.

No coaches.

No other wrestlers.

He walks toward it.

Piers Holloway: “Control is knowing where somebody will go…”

He climbs the ring steps.

Piers Holloway: “…before they decide to go there.”

Piers steps between the ropes.

Piers Holloway: “Give someone enough room…”

He walks toward the centre.

Piers Holloway: “…and they will show you what they want.”

Footage flashes.

An opponent sees Piers near the ropes.

Charges.

Piers Holloway: “Give them fear…”

Another opponent hesitates after Piers suddenly steps forward.

Piers Holloway: “…and they will show you what they avoid.”

Another clip.

Piers appears vulnerable.

His opponent becomes eager.

Moves too quickly.

Piers traps him.

Piers Holloway: “Give them hope…”

The footage freezes just before the reversal.

Piers Holloway: “…and they will usually destroy themselves trying to reach it.”

The picture returns to the empty ring.

Piers stands in the centre.

Piers Holloway: “That is the beautiful part.”

His voice remains soft.

Piers Holloway: “Nobody remembers the first step.”

A pause.

Piers Holloway: “They remember the fall.”

The whistling begins again.

Piers walks toward one corner.

The camera follows from several feet behind him.

Piers Holloway: “People ask why opponents chase me.”

A beat.

Piers Holloway: “Why they reach.”

Another.

Piers Holloway: “Why they become angry.”

Piers turns.

Piers Holloway: “Why they make mistakes they normally would not make.”

His expression is almost sympathetic.

Piers Holloway: “They think I caused it.”

He shakes his head once.

Piers Holloway: “That gives me far too much credit.”

Training footage returns.

The charging wrestler.

Piers retreats.

Piers Holloway: “I did not create the impatience.”

The reaching wrestler.

Piers slips away.

Piers Holloway: “I did not create the fear.”

The wild swing.

Piers ducks.

Piers Holloway: “I did not create the anger.”

Piers stands over the fallen opponent.

Piers Holloway: “I simply gave each one somewhere to go.”

The footage fades.

Back inside the Academy ring.

Piers rests both hands loosely on the top rope.

Piers Holloway: “People dislike that explanation.”

A faint smile.

Piers Holloway: “It means the door was never locked.”

He turns toward the camera.

Piers Holloway: “They walked through it.”

The screen darkens.

A narrow path appears through trees at dusk.

Nothing supernatural.

Just a trail.

Two directions.

One left.

One right.

Piers' voice continues.

Piers Holloway: “Every match is a path.”

The left path disappears into shadow.

Piers Holloway: “There is always a moment when someone believes they can turn around.”

The camera moves forward.

Piers Holloway: “Usually…”

The trail narrows.

Piers Holloway: “…that moment passed several steps earlier.”

Black.

The Academy returns.

Piers is now seated on the middle turnbuckle.

Still calm.

Still speaking as though nobody else is present.

Piers Holloway: “The Academy calls this evaluation.”

A pause.

Piers Holloway: “Evidence.”

Another.

Piers Holloway: “Choices.”

His eyes lift toward the tournament board.

Piers Holloway: “I like that word.”

The board remains visible in the distance.

Piers Holloway: “Choice.”

He steps down from the turnbuckle.

Piers Holloway: “It makes people feel safe.”

Piers walks slowly across the ring.

Piers Holloway: “It tells them they are responsible for where they stand.”

He stops.

Piers Holloway: “And they are.”

A longer pause.

Piers Holloway: “Just not always for the reason they think.”

The whistling returns.

Piers turns his back to the camera.

Walks toward the ropes.

Stops.

Piers Holloway: “Someone sees an opening.”

One note.

Piers Holloway: “They choose to attack.”

Another.

Piers Holloway: “Someone feels pressure.”

Another.

Piers Holloway: “They choose to escape.”

Another.

Piers Holloway: “Someone hears the clock.”

The whistle stops.

Piers looks over his shoulder.

Piers Holloway: “They choose to hurry.”

A faint smile.

Piers Holloway: “And afterward…”

Silence.

Piers Holloway: “…they swear I made them do it.”

Piers steps through the ropes.

The camera remains inside the ring as he walks away.

He reaches the entranceway.

Stops beneath the same flickering fluorescent light from the beginning.

Hands fold behind his back.

Piers Holloway: “I cannot make anyone follow.”

A pause.

His voice becomes quieter.

Piers Holloway: “I only make the road easier to hear.”

Another pause.

Piers begins whistling.

The same simple melody.

He turns away.

Walks into the darkness.

His voice comes one final time.

Soft.

Almost comforting.

Piers Holloway: “Keep walking.”

A beat.

Piers Holloway: “The song gets quieter near the end.”

Cut to black.

The whistle continues for three more notes.

Then stops.

The graphic appears.

PIERS HOLLOWAY

“THE ROAD YOU THOUGHT YOU CHOSE”

Fade.

The broadcast returns live inside the Iron Ring Academy.

The crowd is noticeably quieter than it was before the vignette.

At the commentary desk, Paul Redford watches the final image disappear from the studio screen.

Beside him, Dave “The Brute” Kent sits with his arms folded.

Paul Redford: “Piers Holloway describes wrestling as persuasion rather than confrontation. Create the choice, encourage the reaction, and punish the opponent for making it.”

Dave nods slightly.

Dave Kent: “There is legitimate wrestling intelligence underneath all that bedtime-story nonsense.”

Paul looks toward him.

Dave Kent: “He understands pressure. He understands bait. He understands how frustration changes decision-making.”

Training footage replays.

Piers backs toward the ropes.

His opponent charges.

Piers steps aside.

Dave Kent: “That opponent did not have to charge.”

Another.

An opponent reaches.

Piers slips away.

Dave Kent: “That one did not have to reach.”

The wild swing.

The trip.

Dave Kent: “And that one absolutely did not have to swing.”

The footage freezes.

Dave Kent: “Piers is correct about one thing.”

Paul waits.

Dave Kent: “You cannot manipulate somebody with a weakness they do not have.”

The live camera returns.

Paul Redford: “But identifying weaknesses and converting them into results remain two different things.”

Dave Kent: “Exactly.”

Dave looks toward the entranceway where Piers disappeared.

Dave Kent: “Being clever is not the same thing as being successful.”

A beat.

Dave Kent: “The Academy is full of wrestlers with explanations.”

He looks toward the tournament board.

Dave Kent: “Eventually the standings ask for evidence.”

The screen changes.

MATCH 1 — IRON GENERAL HAMMER BLOCK

OWEN STARLING vs EIRIK IRONWARD

The crowd immediately rises again.

Paul Redford: “And our first evidence tonight comes from the Iron General Hammer Block. Owen Starling wrestles his final block match.”

The graphic highlights Eirik Ironward.

MUST WIN

Dave Kent: “And Eirik does not need persuasion.”

A pause.

Dave Kent: “The standings have already told him where he has to go.”

Paul Redford: “Owen Starling. Eirik Ironward. Twenty-minute time limit. Two tournament points available.”

The Academy bell hangs beneath the hard overhead lights.

Fade into Match 1.

Paul Redford: “A victory moves Owen to six and places him alone at the top pending the remaining matches for Dante Rook and Nikolas Nocturne.”

Dave Kent: “Owen cannot control what Dante or Nikolas do later. He can control whether they have to chase six.”

The camera shifts toward Eirik's zero.

Paul Redford: “Eirik Ironward has two scheduled matches remaining entering tonight.”

Dave Kent: “And he needs both of them.”

The graphic appears.

EIRIK LOSS OR DRAW = ELIMINATED

Dave Kent: “Zero points this late in the quarter means the arithmetic has already done most of the talking. Eirik has twenty minutes to answer it.”

Owen Starling enters first.

He pauses beneath the tournament board.

Four points.

Then looks toward the six displayed beside his name.

No theatrics.

He enters.

Eirik Ironward follows.

His attention goes immediately toward the zero.

He looks at it for several seconds.

Then toward Owen.

“Honest” Abe completes his checks.

The bell rings.

Minute 1

They engage immediately.

Owen catches Eirik moving forward and drives him down with the Cradle DDT.

Eirik rolls through the impact, gets back underneath Owen and answers with the Rolling Fireman's Carry Slam.

Owen hits hard.

Paul Redford: “Both men establish offence immediately.”

Dave Kent: “Eirik has the greater urgency, but urgency has to become control. He cannot spend twenty minutes proving he wanted this badly.”

Eirik stays close.

Minute 2

Owen tries to establish position.

Eirik drives underneath him.

Fallaway Slam.

Owen attempts to shift his weight during the lift but cannot stop it.

Minute 3

Owen looks to change the match with the Scoop Slam Piledriver.

Eirik recognizes the setup.

Blocks.

Minute 5

Owen finally creates room.

He gets underneath Eirik.

Minute 6

Owen drives Eirik toward the corner.

Corner Boot connects.

Eirik absorbs it.

Owen moves forward—

Fallaway Slam.

Eirik launches him again.

Paul Redford: “Third Fallaway Slam.”

Dave Kent: “That is becoming the story. Owen creates offence and Eirik keeps taking the next meaningful position.”

Owen pulls himself toward the ropes.

Minute 7

Owen catches Eirik entering.

Another Corner Boot.

Eirik is rocked.

But he stays upright.

He closes the distance.

Rolling Fireman's Carry Slam.

Owen is driven down.

Paul Redford: “Eirik remains in control through seven minutes.”

Dave Kent: “And this is where the standings become dangerous psychologically.”

Paul looks over.

Dave Kent: “Because Eirik knows he's wrestling well.”

A beat.

Dave Kent: “But wrestling well does not save him.”

Minute 8

Eirik attacks again.

He gets underneath Owen.

Another Rolling Fireman's Carry Slam.

Owen tries to shift out.

Dave Kent: “Eirik needed a victory so badly that he started wrestling as though every additional move made the victory more certain.”

A beat.

Dave Kent: “It made it less certain.”

Paul Redford: “Owen needed one opening.”

Dave Kent: “And unlike Eirik, he finished it.”

The six remains beside Owen's name.

Paul Redford: “Six points now becomes the number Dante Rook and Nikolas Nocturne must look toward in their remaining block matches.”

Winner Promo — Owen Starling

Owen reaches the commentary desk still breathing heavily.

He looks back toward Eirik.

Then toward the standings.

Paul Redford: “Owen, Eirik controlled long portions of that match. You leave with the victory and finish block competition on six points.”

Owen studies the six.

Owen Starling: “He was better for eight minutes.”

A pause.

Owen Starling: “I only needed to be better when the song ended.”

Dave raises an eyebrow at that.

Owen looks toward the names of Dante and Nikolas.

Owen Starling: “Six.”

Another pause.

Owen leaves.

Dave looks toward the board.

The graphic appears.

Dave Kent: “Not the Powerslam.”

The replay returns to the repeated Vertical Suplexes.

Dave Kent: “This.”

A beat.

Dave Kent: “He found something Dorian never solved.”

Another Vertical Suplex.

Dave Kent: “And instead of becoming bored with success and looking for something prettier, Finn kept doing it.”

The winning suplex plays.

Dave Kent: “That is development.”

Paul Redford: “Dorian remains on three points and still has one block match remaining.”

The screen highlights Dorian.

DORIAN ARGENT — 3 POINTS

Finn reaches the commentary desk.

Sweat pours from his face.

He continues breathing heavily.

Paul looks toward the four.

Paul Redford: “Finn, your block matches are finished. Four points. Your semifinal position now depends on results still to come.”

Finn looks toward the standings.

Finn Oakheart: “Then I wait.”

A pause.

He looks toward Dorian.

Finn Oakheart: “I spent too much of this quarter trying to prove how strong I was.”

Another.

Finn Oakheart: “Everybody already knew.”

Finn points toward the replay.

The Hanging Vertical Suplex.

Finn Oakheart: “…I'll be ready.”

Another.

Finn Oakheart: “If it isn't…”

He looks toward Dave.

Finn Oakheart: “…then that's on me.”

Finn leaves.

For once, Dave does not immediately criticize him.

He watches Finn walk away.

Then nods.

Dave Kent: “That sounds like somebody who finally understands what this place is for.”

The camera moves toward the tournament board.

Four matches complete.

One wrestler has reached six.

One block has its semifinalists.

Two more wrestlers have been mathematically eliminated.

And Finn Oakheart's four points sit waiting for the remaining Anvil Block results to determine whether his tournament continues.

Fade toward the Closing.

CLOSING

The broadcast returns to the commentary desk inside the Iron Ring Academy.

The crowd is still loud following Finn Oakheart's Main Event victory over Dorian Argent.

Behind Paul Redford and Dave “The Brute” Kent, the Quarter Three tournament board fills the studio screen.

Eight weeks are complete.

Only two weeks of block competition remain.

Several names are now marked with finality.

Others remain trapped somewhere between all three.

Dave Kent: “His tournament is over.”

A pause.

Dave Kent: “His evaluation isn't.”

The screen returns to Owen.

Six points.

Paul Redford: “Owen, meanwhile, has done everything available to him.”

The board highlights Dante Rook and Nikolas Nocturne, both on four.

Bella's elimination marker.

Dave Kent: “And LEXA just watched her championship path disappear tonight.”

LEXA's elimination marker.

Dave looks toward the camera.

Dave Kent: “That is exactly the kind of combination you put into a tag-team evaluation if you want to learn who can cooperate when everybody has a different reason for being angry.”

Paul Redford: “Communication. Trust. Corner discipline. Partner protection.”

Dave Kent: “And whether two eliminated wrestlers can stop thinking about themselves long enough to function as a team.”

The full Week Nine card appears.

Paul Redford: “Others now know they are not.”

Then the unresolved blocks return.

Paul Redford: “And for everyone between those two outcomes, the available road is becoming very short.”

Dave studies the board.

Dave Kent: “That's the part people misunderstand about development.”

Paul turns toward him.

Dave Kent: “They think the Academy exists to give people opportunities.”

A pause.

Dave Kent: “It does.”

He points toward the standings.

Dave Kent: “It just doesn't promise there will always be another one.”

The camera slowly pulls away from the desk.

The ring sits beneath the hard Academy lights.

Above it, the Week Nine card remains on the screen.

Chronicles of the Circle of the False Light:

FALSE LIGHT FORGE INTERLUDE 008 “The Proposal”

Airing after Crucible 030 — August 27, 2026

The Nutcracker Legion Compound — False Light Forge Wrestling School

The False Light Forge is louder than usual.

Training has stopped across most of the enormous industrial hall. Heavy bags hang motionless. Weight stations have been abandoned. Even the other two rings have emptied.

Nearly everyone has gathered around the centre ring.

Nutcracker recruits stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Forge trainees. Colt Maddox watches from near one turnbuckle. Sugar Plum Fairy stands farther down the apron. Dominik Rask, Anika, Thruk, CHAT XYZ, HAL and the others have all found places around ringside.

Because today there are visitors.

High above them, on the steel observation balcony, Nutcracker General rests both hands on the railing. Beside him stands Superstar Billy Pearl.

Their guests are unmistakably outsiders.

Kristine Kringle, President and CEO of NPCW, stands composed in a fitted winter business suit.

Beside her is Goldie Locks, the Northern Belles Commissioner, taking in every detail of the training floor with the careful eye of someone already evaluating talent.

And completing the visiting party is Veronica Vandal, familiar enough with wrestling schools to recognize immediately that the Forge operates very differently from the Iron Ring Academy.

Below them, referee “Fast Count” Frank checks both competitors.

On one side stands Clara Cobweb, bouncing lightly on her toes.

Across from her is Rhea Quinn — “The Black Signal.”

Rhea rolls her shoulders, adjusts her wrist tape, and looks up toward the balcony.

She notices the visitors.

A crooked smile appears.

RHEA QUINN:
“Well now. We've got company.”

Clara looks toward the balcony.

RHEA:
“Try not to embarrass yourself, Clara. Important people are watching.”

Clara gives her a look.

CLARA COBWEB:
“I was about to tell you the same thing.”

Rhea grins.

RHEA:
“Aye, but when I embarrass myself, people usually buy tickets for the sequel.”

The bell rings.

Minute 1

Clara attacks immediately.

She catches Rhea and tries to drive her into the Eternal Tangle, her sit-out facebuster.

Rhea senses it coming.

Instead of fighting desperately against the position, Rhea twists behind Clara and snakes an arm underneath her chin.

BLACKOUT BROADCAST.

The sleeper is cinched in almost instantly.

Clara's face tightens as Rhea leans backward, forcing her to carry Rhea's weight.

And naturally, Rhea starts talking.

RHEA:
“Breaking news, Clara! Local spider discovers she's got a neck!”

Clara fights toward the ropes.

RHEA:
“Exclusive coverage continues after this commercial break!”

On the balcony, Goldie raises an eyebrow.

Billy Pearl doesn't react.

He has heard this before.

Kristine watches the ring for another few seconds.

KRISTINE KRINGLE:
“She talks quite a bit.”

Billy glances sideways at her.

BILLY PEARL:
“You're seeing the restrained version.”

Goldie suppresses a smile.

Minute 2

Clara barely escapes the hold before Rhea catches her again.

Rhea drags her backward into another Blackout Broadcast.

Clara paws at the forearm around her throat.

RHEA:
“Don't worry! I'm told unconsciousness is very relaxing!”

Nutcracker Captain watches from below, expression completely neutral.

Rhea sees him.

Even while maintaining the hold, she points toward him.

RHEA:
“Captain! See? I'm being technical!”

The Captain folds his arms.

NUTCRACKER CAPTAIN:
“FOCUS.”

RHEA:
“I AM focused!”

Clara drives backward, finally forcing separation.

On the balcony, the General turns toward Kristine.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“You did not travel this far merely to watch a training match.”

Kristine doesn't bother denying it.

KRISTINE:
“No.”

Her eyes remain on the ring.

KRISTINE:
“We came with a proposal.”

The General's expression immediately hardens.

Minute 3

Clara comes charging back with a Hair Mare Shoot Kick, snapping Rhea forward and driving a kick into her.

Rhea stumbles—

—but responds immediately.

She hooks Clara's head.

SIGNAL BREAKER.

The neckbreaker drops Clara hard.

Rhea sits up and brushes imaginary dust from her shoulder.

RHEA:
“That's what happens when you interrupt the broadcast.”

She points toward Clara.

RHEA:
“Technical difficulties.”

Billy slowly shakes his head.

BILLY:
“Every damn move has commentary.”

Kristine almost smiles.

The General, however, is still focused on her.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“What proposal?”

KRISTINE:
“In September, we intend to hold a special women's tournament.”

That gets Goldie's attention as well.

KRISTINE:
“It begins with four separate Battle Royals. We're inviting talent from outside our usual competitive structure.”

The General's eyes narrow.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“And you want Forge wrestlers.”

KRISTINE:
“Yes.”

A beat.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Why?”

Minute 4

Rhea catches Clara from behind.

CELTIC SHOCK.

The atomic drop drives Clara upward and sends her staggering awkwardly toward the ropes.

Rhea spreads her arms.

RHEA:
“That's centuries of Celtic diplomacy right there!”

Clara spins around furiously.

RHEA:
“Oh, don't give me that face. I've seen happier expressions on tax collectors.”

Around the ring, several trainees laugh.

Clara does not.

She charges.

Minute 5

This time Clara gets her.

She cartwheels across the ring and crashes down with the Crash Test Cartwheel Splash.

The impact knocks the air out of Rhea.

For perhaps the first time in the match—

Rhea is silent.

Clara sits up.

CLARA:
“Finally.”

Rhea rolls onto her side, catches her breath and raises one finger.

RHEA:
“Temporary transmission failure.”

The trainees laugh again.

Clara groans.

On the balcony, Kristine finally answers the General.

KRISTINE:
“Because relations between the Iron Ring Academy and the False Light Forge don't need to become a permanent war.”

The General scoffs.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“The Academy rejected talent we accepted.”

Goldie answers calmly.

GOLDIE LOCKS:
“And some of that talent is becoming difficult to ignore.”

Her eyes drift toward Rhea.

Then toward some of the other women around ringside.

KRISTINE:
“Consider it an olive branch.”

The General turns fully toward her now.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Olive branches are normally offered when someone believes peace benefits them.”

Kristine meets his stare.

KRISTINE:
“Of course.”

That answer earns the faintest approving look from Billy Pearl.

Minute 6

Clara moves in again.

Rhea meets her halfway.

A quick Street Fight Jab snaps Clara's head backward.

Nothing elegant.

Nothing elaborate.

Just a sharp punch thrown by someone who learned fighting before she learned wrestling.

Rhea follows Clara toward the ropes.

RHEA:
“Here's another bit of Dublin philosophy for you—”

Another feint.

Clara covers.

Rhea laughs.

RHEA:
“See? Learning already.”

Billy leans against the balcony rail.

BILLY:
“She'll drive half the roster insane.”

VERONICA VANDAL:
“Half?”

Billy considers it.

BILLY:
“Fair point.”

Minute 7

Clara plants her feet and suddenly powers Rhea up.

POWER BOMB.

Rhea crashes to the mat.

Clara barely has time to reset before Rhea scrambles back up, grabs her by the head and charges.

RIOT BULLDOG.

Both women hit hard.

They lie side-by-side for a moment.

Rhea turns her head toward Clara.

RHEA:
“Good powerbomb.”

Clara looks surprised by the compliment.

Rhea continues.

RHEA:
“Shame about everything after it.”

Clara reaches over and shoves her in the face.

Rhea starts laughing.

Minute 8

Rhea gets to Clara's legs.

She twists.

CELTIC KNOT.

But Clara has been paying attention.

Before Rhea can complete the Figure Four, Clara rolls through, catches Rhea's momentum and launches her with a Monkey Flip to the Floor.

Rhea spills through the ropes.

Fast Count Frank begins counting.

FRANK:
“ONE!”

Rhea pushes herself up.

FRANK:
“TWO!”

Rhea looks toward the balcony.

RHEA:
“You lot enjoying yourselves?”

FRANK:
“THREE!”

Rhea slides back underneath the bottom rope.

She looks at Frank.

RHEA:
“You count like somebody's chasing you.”

Frank points at her and orders the match to continue.

From above, Kristine watches her carefully.

KRISTINE:
“She has absolutely no fear of authority, does she?”

Billy gives her a dry look.

BILLY:
“No.”

A pause.

BILLY:
“That's the problem.”

Another pause.

BILLY:
“And occasionally the advantage.”

The General returns to the proposal.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“How many positions?”

KRISTINE:
“We were prepared to offer the Forge one entrant in each Battle Royal.”

The General answers instantly.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“No.”

Goldie glances toward Kristine.

Kristine remains composed.

KRISTINE:
“You haven't heard the remainder of the proposal.”

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“I heard enough.”

He turns toward the ring.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“The Forge does not exist to provide your tournament with a novelty entrant.”

Minute 9

Rhea tries the Blackout Broadcast again.

Clara has learned that too.

She twists free, pulls Rhea down and comes crashing across her with a Fender Bender Leg Drop.

Rhea rolls away clutching her upper chest.

Clara finally allows herself a smile.

CLARA:
“Still broadcasting?”

Rhea slowly sits up.

Her grin returns.

RHEA:
“Loud and clear.”

She gets to one knee.

RHEA:
“And now I've got listener feedback.”

Minute 10

Clara steps forward—

Rhea fires another Street Fight Jab directly through her guard.

Clara staggers.

Rhea follows her.

RHEA:
“Feedback says stop kicking me in the face.”

Another threatening step.

RHEA:
“Very passionate audience.”

Down on the floor, Colt Maddox scratches something onto his clipboard.

HAL tilts his head.

CHAT XYZ looks toward him.

CHAT XYZ:
“What did he write?”

HAL:
“Unknown.”

Rhea hears them.

RHEA:
“Probably 'Rhea remains delightful.'”

Colt doesn't even look up.

COLT MADDOX:
“No.”

Rhea points at him.

RHEA:
“Editorial bias.”

Minute 11

Clara responds with speed.

She cartwheels and drives an elbow down toward Rhea.

At nearly the same moment, Rhea gets underneath her.

Clara's Cartwheel Elbow Drop connects—

but Rhea still manages to secure position.

She gets behind Clara.

Lifts.

BELLY-TO-BACK SUPLEX.

Both women hit the canvas.

The watching recruits respond loudly now.

This has stopped feeling like a training exercise.

On the balcony, Goldie leans toward the railing.

GOLDIE:
“They're both good.”

Billy nods.

BILLY:
“Clara's improving.”

He watches Rhea get up.

BILLY:
“Rhea's dangerous because she's learning how to wrestle without losing what made her a fighter.”

Kristine looks toward the General.

KRISTINE:
“Which is exactly why I came.”

Minute 12

Clara tries to catch Rhea with the Eternal Tangle again.

Rhea blocks it.

She plants her feet, shifts her hips and simply refuses to go.

Clara tries again.

Nothing.

Rhea looks sideways toward the trainees.

RHEA:
“She's trying to tune me out.”

Clara releases her.

CLARA:
“I'm trying to drop you on your face!”

RHEA:
“Same principle!”

On the balcony, the General turns back toward Kristine.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Two.”

Kristine pauses.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Two Forge entrants in each of the four Battle Royals.”

Goldie looks at him.

GOLDIE:
“That's eight tournament positions.”

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“I can count.”

Goldie smiles faintly.

The General continues.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“If you genuinely seek cooperation, then treat the Forge as an equal training institution.”

Kristine considers it.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“You want access to our women?”

He gestures toward the ring below.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Then give them enough opportunity to prove whether your confidence in your own wrestlers is justified.”

Veronica glances toward Kristine.

Billy says nothing.

This is not his negotiation.

Minute 13

Rhea steps directly into Clara's space.

Another Street Fight Jab lands cleanly.

Clara rocks backward.

Rhea keeps advancing.

RHEA:
“Come on, Clara! You wanted civilization? Here's democracy!”

Clara fires back with a forearm.

Rhea takes it and grins.

RHEA:
“That's more like it!”

The pace increases.

Rhea is practically daring Clara to fight dirtier.

Clara refuses to be baited.

Barely.

Kristine extends her hand toward the General.

KRISTINE:
“Two Forge positions in each of the four Battle Royals.”

The General looks at her hand.

Then at her.

KRISTINE:
“Agreed.”

The General takes it.

A firm handshake.

No warmth.

But no hostility either.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Then the Forge accepts your proposal.”

Goldie exhales.

GOLDIE:
“That was easier than I expected.”

Billy laughs.

BILLY:
“You should've seen him negotiate cafeteria portions.”

The General slowly turns his head toward Billy.

Billy clears his throat.

BILLY:
“Fine. Moving on.”

Minute 14

Below them, the match becomes chaotic.

Clara catches Rhea with another Monkey Flip to the Floor.

But during the exchange, Rhea manages to snap Clara down with the Signal Breaker before tumbling through the ropes herself.

Rhea lands hard outside.

Fast Count Frank immediately begins.

FRANK:
“ONE!”

Rhea stays seated.

FRANK:
“TWO!”

She looks toward him.

RHEA:
“Oh, we're doing this again?”

FRANK:
“THREE!”

Rhea slowly gets one knee under her.

FRANK:
“FOUR!”

Rhea waves him away.

RHEA:
“I heard you!”

FRANK:
“FIVE!”

The watching recruits begin shouting.

FRANK:
“SIX!”

Rhea gets to her feet.

FRANK:
“SEVEN!”

She looks toward Clara.

RHEA:
“You look far too pleased with yourself!”

FRANK:
“EIGHT!”

Rhea dives underneath the bottom rope.

The Forge trainees erupt.

Rhea rolls onto her back and points toward Frank.

RHEA:
“See? Drama. That's television.”

On the balcony, Kristine shakes her head.

KRISTINE:
“I understand your earlier statement now.”

Billy folds his arms.

BILLY:
“You've known her fifteen minutes.”

KRISTINE:
“And?”

BILLY:
“Imagine every day.”

Minute 15

Clara does not let Rhea rest.

She races forward.

HANDSPRING BACK ELBOW.

The strike connects.

Rhea stumbles backward.

Clara charges again.

Rhea suddenly ducks underneath, gets behind her and locks her waist.

Her expression changes.

The jokes stop.

For one brief moment there is no grin.

No commentary.

Only instinct.

Rhea lifts Clara high—

BELLY-TO-BACK SUPLEX!

Clara crashes down hard.

Rhea bridges backward.

Fast Count Frank drops immediately.

ONE!

Clara struggles.

TWO!

Her shoulder twitches—

THREE!

The bell rings.

RHEA QUINN defeats CLARA COBWEB by pinfall following a Belly-to-Back Suplex.

Rhea releases the bridge and rolls onto her knees.

Clara remains down for a few seconds, breathing heavily.

Rhea gets to her feet.

Fast Count Frank raises her hand.

Rhea immediately points toward him.

RHEA:
“You see? You can count properly when motivated.”

Frank drops her hand.

Rhea grins.

She offers Clara her hand.

Clara stares at it suspiciously.

RHEA:
“What?”

Clara takes it.

Rhea pulls her upright.

RHEA:
“You nearly had me.”

Clara waits for whatever insult is coming next.

Rhea pats her shoulder.

RHEA:
“Nearly.”

Clara shoves her.

Rhea laughs.

Above them, the visitors watch.

Goldie has already started making notes.

Veronica's attention remains on the collection of Forge wrestlers gathered around the ring.

Kristine turns toward the General.

KRISTINE:
“I'll have the tournament documentation sent over tomorrow. Rules, dates, medical requirements, everything.”

The General nods.

NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“We will determine our representatives.”

Kristine's eyes return to Rhea.

Rhea is now arguing cheerfully with Colt about something he has written on his clipboard.

KRISTINE:
“I assume she's going to want one of those positions.”

Billy Pearl snorts.

BILLY:
“Want?”

He looks down.

Rhea suddenly glances upward, catches Billy watching her and shouts across the entire building.

RHEA:
“WHAT ARE YOU STARING AT, PEARL? NEVER SEEN SOMEBODY WIN A MATCH BEFORE?”

Billy closes his eyes.

Goldie bursts out laughing.

Even Kristine loses her professional composure for a moment.

Billy leans over the railing.

BILLY:
“I WAS TRYING TO DECIDE IF FIFTEEN MINUTES WITHOUT HEARING YOU SPEAK WOULD COUNT AS A VACATION!”

Rhea cups a hand around her ear.

RHEA:
“CAN'T HEAR YOU! TOO MUCH WINNING DOWN HERE!”

Dominik, standing nearby, shakes his head.

Rhea catches him.

RHEA:
“You've something to say, Kraków?”

Dominik calmly turns back toward the ring.

DOMINIK RASK:
“No.”

RHEA:
“Smartest thing you've said all week.”

The Forge breaks into scattered laughter.

Billy looks toward Kristine.

BILLY:
“That's Rhea Quinn.”

Kristine watches the red-haired troublemaker below.

The smile fades into something more evaluative.

KRISTINE:
“I think September just became more interesting.”

The Nutcracker General folds his arms and surveys the ring, the recruits, and the visiting officials.

For the first time, the False Light Forge is no longer merely training talent behind closed doors.

It has been invited onto a larger stage.

And the General has made certain that when the door opened—

the Forge would not enter quietly.

FADE TO BLACK.
