(Northern Lights flare across the darkness. Snow lashes the screen. The sound of a crowd begins to rise beneath the storm. The POLAR POWER branding forms in frost, steel, and cracking ice.)

SIGNATURE MONTAGE
1) Santa Claus
Santa Claus plants his feet in the center of the ring, absorbing a heavy shot without going down. A hard cut shows him powering an opponent up and driving them into the mat with veteran authority. He rises slowly, battered but unbroken, the North Pole Championship held tight as the crowd roars around him like a blizzard.
2) Infernus Rex
Flames flicker across the screen before the cold swallows them. Infernus Rex steps through the smoke, massive and merciless. A brutal impact shot follows — Infernus Rex crushing an opponent with raw force, then standing over the wreckage as the light behind him turns blood-red and black.
3) Jack Mason
A door swings open backstage. Jack Mason steps through with no hesitation, no warmth, no wasted motion. Hard cut: Jack Mason levels an opponent with a lariat that turns the body inside out. He doesn’t pose. He doesn’t shout. He just stares into the camera like the fight is already over.
4) The Sisters of the Hood
A flash of deep crimson cuts through the snowstorm. Ruby Howl, Scarlet Howl, and Crimson Vane step into frame together — not imitators, not followers, but the dangerous progeny of Red Riding Hood. The montage snaps between them in violent rhythm: Ruby Howl striking with fierce precision, Scarlet Howl cutting off an escape with cold intensity, and Crimson Vane finishing the sequence with sudden, ruthless impact. The final shot catches all three standing shoulder to shoulder, eyes forward, united by bloodline, legacy, and the warning that the woods still belong to them.
5) Polly Mason
The noise drops for one clean heartbeat. Polly Mason steps into frame, calm but burning underneath. A quick burst shows her fighting from underneath, refusing to stay down, then snapping back with a precise counter that changes the match in an instant. She rises first, breathing hard, eyes locked ahead.
6) Grondar the Revenant
The lights dim colder. Grondar the Revenant emerges through blue-white fog, slow and inevitable. He drags an opponent up with terrifying control, then drives them down like a sentence being carried out. The camera catches him looming in silence, unmoved by the panic around him.
7) Yeti
Snow explodes across the screen. Yeti charges forward with monstrous force, smashing through an opponent like an avalanche breaking through timber. Another cut shows Yeti roaring in the ring, shoulders rising, fists clenched, the entire arena reacting to the sheer weight of him.
8) Wilber “Terrorfang” Townsend
A sharp growl cuts through the wind. Wilber “Terrorfang” Townsend snaps into motion — wild eyes, sudden speed, vicious impact. He attacks in bursts: strike, takedown, mauling pressure. The final shot catches Terrorfang crouched over a fallen opponent, head tilted, daring anyone to get closer.
(Drums hit — slow, heavy, warlike. The crowd rises. Wide shot of the North Pole Arena under bright white lights, frost-blue spotlights sweeping across the building.)

(The POLAR POWER logo slams onto the screen. Ice cracks outward from the impact.)

The broadcast opens outside the secured talent entrance of North Pole Arena.
Snow drifts through the white security lights while production personnel move equipment through the loading area. A small group of camera operators has gathered near the entrance alongside Smooth Samantha Satin, who stands ready with a microphone.
A long black stretch limousine slowly turns into the loading area.
The vehicle glides past the production trucks and comes to a deliberate stop directly in front of the cameras. Its engine continues running. The windows are dark enough to conceal everyone inside.
Smooth Samantha Satin steps closer as the rear door opens.
Count Daculescu emerges first.
He straightens his coat, surveys the assembled cameras, and offers Smooth Samantha Satin a thin, knowing smile. He then steps aside without answering the questions already being called toward him.
The Crimson Maulers exit next.
The two imposing competitors take positions on either side of the open limousine door. Neither acknowledges the cameras. Neither speaks. Their attention remains fixed on the entrance to the arena, as though everything between the limousine and the ring has already been placed under their control.
A polished black shoe touches the pavement.
The Master of the Night slowly rises from the limousine.
He stands tall beneath the cold security lights, dressed with the formal precision of someone arriving for a ceremony rather than a fight. His expression is composed and unreadable. He does not look around in curiosity. He studies North Pole Arena as though he has seen it many times before.
The surrounding production crew falls silent.
Smooth Samantha Satin steps forward.
Smooth Samantha Satin: For weeks, Polar Power has been disrupted by messages promising the arrival of the so-called Master of the Night. Tonight, you finally enter an NPCW ring. Why have you come to the Polar Division, and why begin with Jack Mason, Negropolis, and Santa Claus?
Count Daculescu moves between the microphone and The Master of the Night.
Count Daculescu: You speak as though tonight is a beginning.
Smooth Samantha Satin keeps the microphone raised.
Count Daculescu: Tonight is merely the first occasion upon which the people of the North are permitted to witness what has already begun.
Behind him, The Master of the Night remains motionless.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Then what should the Polar Division expect from his debut?
Count Daculescu: Expect discipline. Expect patience. Expect three men who have mistaken courage for preparation to discover the difference.
One of the Crimson Maulers closes the limousine door.
Count Daculescu: Santa Claus believes hope can protect his kingdom. Negropolis believes darkness belongs to those who wear it as a disguise. And Jack Mason believes madness makes him unpredictable.
The smile disappears from Count Daculescu’s face.
Count Daculescu: They are each mistaken.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Is tonight only about winning the match?
Count Daculescu: Victory is never the complete purpose. Victory is the introduction.
Smooth Samantha Satin turns the microphone toward The Master of the Night.
For the first time, The Master of the Night looks directly at her.
The Master of the Night: The North has enjoyed a long and peaceful evening.
His gaze shifts toward the arena entrance.
The Master of the Night: Evening is over.
Count Daculescu gestures toward the building.
The Crimson Maulers move first. The Master of the Night follows between them, with Count Daculescu walking one step behind. The group passes through the secured entrance without another word.
The cameras remain focused on the doorway until a quiet voice comes from farther down the loading area.
Jack Mason stands beside a production truck.
He has watched the entire arrival from the shadows between two equipment cases. There is no alarm in his expression. Only recognition and a crooked trace of amusement.
Jack Mason: Welcome to the neighbourhood.
Jack Mason turns and disappears through another entrance.
The broadcast immediately cuts inside North Pole Arena.
The crowd is already on its feet as blue and white lights sweep across the packed building. The camera races over the audience before settling at the commentary desk with Johnny “The Mic” Michaels and Eddie Ellington.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Welcome live to North Pole Arena! I am Johnny “The Mic” Michaels, joined by Eddie Ellington, and after that arrival, tonight’s enormous six-man tag team match has become even more personal!
Eddie Ellington: Personal? Jack Mason just welcomed a walking nightmare to his neighbourhood. That is why nobody trusts the local welcoming committee.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Also tonight, Polly Mason faces Moon Silver, Van Helsing battles Marcus the Beastmaster, the Candy Shoppe Twins meet Mrs. Claus and Pearl, and Wilber “Terrorfang” Townsend goes one-on-one with Lyric Everfrost!
Eddie Ellington: And do not forget the main event. Jack Lumber defends the Convergent Championship against the Yeti. The champion may need an axe, a snowplow, and an entirely different career.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Six major matches are ahead, and there is no reason to wait any longer. Polar Power starts right now with Match One!
This leads directly into the first competitor’s entrance for Match 1.
The camera returns to the arena bowl as the lights sweep across a crowd still buzzing over the arrival of The Master of the Night.
The atmosphere inside North Pole Arena has changed. Fans stand shoulder to shoulder around the barricades. Security personnel line the aisle. Additional cameras have been positioned around the ring and entranceway to capture every angle of the most anticipated debut in recent Polar Power history.
The camera moves toward the top of the entrance ramp.
Several figures have already gathered there.
Van Helsing stands at the centre of the group, his eyes fixed on the ring. On one side of him are The Sisters of the Hood, Crimson Vane, Ruby Howl and Scarlett Howl. On the other side stand Carmilla Nocturne and Jasper Fang.
None of them speaks.
None of them takes a seat.
They have come to watch The Master of the Night compete.
The camera rises toward the upper levels of North Pole Arena.
Alone near the railing, almost hidden among the standing spectators, Mina Harker watches the entranceway. Her hands remain wrapped around the railing as she studies every movement below.
Another camera finds one of the arena’s luxury boxes.
Count Vlad stands behind the glass with Infernus Rex beside him. The two men look down upon the ring without revealing what, if anything, the arrival of The Master of the Night means to them.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Look at the people who have gathered to witness this. Van Helsing, The Sisters of the Hood, Carmilla Nocturne, Jasper Fang, Mina Harker, Count Vlad, and Infernus Rex are all watching. That tells you how significant this debut may be.
Eddie Ellington: It tells me that intelligent people recognize importance when it walks through the door. Everyone wants to see whether The Master of the Night is as formidable as the anticipation surrounding him.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Or they want to determine precisely what kind of threat has entered the Polar Division.
Eddie Ellington: Threat is such an emotional word, Johnny Michaels. I prefer opportunity. We may be witnessing the beginning of something magnificent.
The arena lights shift to burgundy and white.
A school bell rings once.
The familiar music of Jack Mason begins, drawing an immediate roar from the crowd.
Jack Mason steps onto the stage in his burgundy sweater and ring gear, accompanied by Ace MacDougal and Flippers. He does not display his usual crooked smile. His eyes remain fixed upon the ring and then move briefly toward the limousine entrance shown earlier.
Ace MacDougal speaks close to Jack Mason, attempting to keep him focused. Flippers marches beside them with determined little steps, receiving an enormous reaction from the North Pole Arena crowd.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: There is no playfulness in Jack Mason tonight. The abduction of Edie Mason has made this intensely personal.
Eddie Ellington: That is exactly what concerns me. Jack Mason is emotional, unfocused, and surrounded by a guidance counsellor and a penguin. Meanwhile, his opponents arrived with organization, discipline, and a stretch limousine.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Jack Mason knows exactly why he is here. He wants answers, and he wants Edie Mason brought home.
Eddie Ellington: Wanting answers and surviving long enough to receive them are entirely different subjects.
The lights dim to brown, black, and white.
A low, heavy rhythm begins.
Negropolis emerges through the entrance wearing his white skull mask and dark trench coat. He pauses beside Jack Mason, then slowly removes the coat without taking his eyes from the ring.
Negropolis and Jack Mason exchange a brief nod.
They do not need to discuss what is at stake.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Negropolis has stood beside Jack Mason throughout this entire ordeal. The Crimson Maulers have already tested him, hurt him, and humiliated him. He still came back.
Eddie Ellington: Admirable, perhaps. Wise, absolutely not. Negropolis has already experienced what Brakk Bloodmaw and Vereyk Nightclaw can do, and tonight he volunteered to do it again.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: That is loyalty.
Eddie Ellington: That is poor pattern recognition.
A burst of red, white, and gold light fills the arena.
The crowd rises as Santa Claus steps through the curtain.
There is no sleigh, no festive procession, and no celebration. Santa Claus wears his red-and-white ring attire beneath a heavy entrance coat. He walks directly toward Jack Mason and Negropolis before extending a hand to each man.
Both accept.
The three competitors proceed down the ramp together with Ace MacDougal and Flippers following close behind.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Santa Claus has chosen to stand beside two men fighting to bring a member of their family home. That is what leadership looks like.
Eddie Ellington: Santa Claus recently lost the North Pole Championship, and now he is inserting himself into someone else’s family crisis. Perhaps he should concentrate on solving one catastrophe at a time.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Santa Claus does not turn away when someone needs help.
Eddie Ellington: And that may be exactly why he keeps finding himself underneath people twice his size.
Jack Mason, Negropolis, and Santa Claus enter the ring. Ace MacDougal and Flippers take their positions at ringside.
The arena lighting cuts out.
Every video screen turns black.
A single crimson line appears across the main screen.
It slowly widens into the image of a closed pair of iron gates.
A deep orchestral note rolls through North Pole Arena. It is followed by a second. Then a third.
The gates on the screen open.
At the top of the entrance ramp, Count Daculescu appears beneath a narrow crimson spotlight.
He wears dark formal clothing trimmed with deep red accents. His expression is severe, composed, and quietly satisfied.
Count Daculescu walks several steps forward and stops.
Two more crimson lights ignite behind him.
Brakk Bloodmaw emerges beneath the first.
The larger of the Crimson Maulers rolls his shoulders as he advances, his broad frame filling one side of the entranceway. His eyes remain locked on the three men waiting in the ring.
Vereyk Nightclaw appears beneath the second light.
Where Brakk Bloodmaw radiates blunt force, Vereyk Nightclaw is controlled and precise. He flexes his hands once, studying the ring and each opponent inside it as though deciding where the first wound should be made.
Eddie Ellington: Now that is an entrance. No foolishness, no waving, no penguin waddling behind them. The Crimson Maulers look like they arrived to conduct business.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Brakk Bloodmaw and Vereyk Nightclaw have already brought pain and chaos to Polar Power. Tonight they are standing beside the individual who may have ordered all of it.
Eddie Ellington: Allegedly, Johnny Michaels. You should be more responsible with your accusations.
The music stops.
For several seconds, there is complete silence.
Then the iron gates on the screen close again.
When they reopen, a tall silhouette stands behind them.
A cold white light rises from beneath the entrance platform.
The Master of the Night steps forward.
He wears the same immaculate dark attire seen during his arrival, now adapted for competition beneath a long black entrance coat. His movements are unhurried. He does not acknowledge the crowd, the cameras, or the people observing from around the arena.
His attention rests entirely on Jack Mason.
At the top of the ramp, Van Helsing shifts his stance.
Crimson Vane and Scarlett Howl exchange a guarded look. Carmilla Nocturne does not move at all. Jasper Fang leans forward slightly, watching the newcomer pass beneath them.
High above the ring, Mina Harker tightens her grip on the railing.
Inside the luxury box, Count Vlad watches without expression while Infernus Rex remains beside him.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Listen to North Pole Arena. Nobody knows exactly who this man is, where he came from, or what he ultimately wants. We know only the name he has chosen and the damage done in preparation for this night.
Eddie Ellington: Look at the composure. Look at the confidence. The Master of the Night is not entering like a man making his debut. He is entering like a man collecting property that already belongs to him.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: That is exactly the kind of arrogance Jack Mason, Negropolis, and Santa Claus intend to challenge.
Eddie Ellington: Arrogance is confidence without evidence. I see plenty of evidence walking toward the ring.
The Master of the Night joins the Crimson Maulers and Count Daculescu.
The four men proceed down the ramp together.
Brakk Bloodmaw and Vereyk Nightclaw climb onto the apron first. Count Daculescu moves toward their corner while The Master of the Night stops at ringside.
He slowly removes his black coat and hands it to Count Daculescu.
Only then does The Master of the Night step between the ropes.
Jack Mason immediately moves toward him.
“Honest” Abe places himself between the two teams and orders everyone into their respective corners.
Celeste Orion steps into the centre of the ring.
Celeste Orion: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is a six-man tag team match scheduled for one fall with a thirty-minute time limit!
The crowd cheers as Celeste Orion turns toward the first corner.
Celeste Orion: Introducing first, accompanied by Ace MacDougal and Flippers!
Celeste Orion: At six feet three inches and two hundred forty pounds, representing the Misfits of Mayhem, Jack Mason!
A loud chant for Jack Mason begins.
Celeste Orion: His partner, at six feet two inches and two hundred thirty pounds, also representing the Misfits of Mayhem, Negropolis!
Negropolis raises one fist.
Celeste Orion: And their partner, at six feet and three hundred pounds, representing the Alliance of Hope, the former North Pole Champion, Santa Claus!
Santa Claus steps forward as the crowd roars.
Celeste Orion turns toward the opposite corner.
Celeste Orion: Their opponents are accompanied by Count Daculescu!
Celeste Orion: First, the team of Brakk Bloodmaw and Vereyk Nightclaw, the Crimson Maulers!
The crowd rains boos upon the pair.
Celeste Orion: And their partner, making his in-ring debut tonight on Polar Power, The Master of the Night!
The Master of the Night looks across the ring at Jack Mason as the boos intensify.
Celeste Orion exits.
“Honest” Abe checks both teams and calls for the bell.
Minute 1
Jack Mason demands to begin the match, but The Master of the Night remains on the apron and sends Brakk Bloodmaw forward in his place.
Brakk Bloodmaw charges immediately. Jack Mason steps through the attack, hooks the larger man around the waist, and drives him into the canvas with the Sit Down Neighbor spinebuster.
Jack Mason does not attempt a cover. He rises and points directly at The Master of the Night.
The hesitation allows Brakk Bloodmaw to recover. He catches Jack Mason as he turns and drops him hard with the Bloodmoon Driver.
Both men rise quickly, but Jack Mason reaches his corner first and tags Negropolis.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Explosive opening from both men. Jack Mason put Brakk Bloodmaw down with the Sit Down Neighbor, but taking his attention away from the legal competitor allowed Brakk Bloodmaw to answer immediately.
Eddie Ellington: That is what emotion does. Jack Mason is already looking past Brakk Bloodmaw, and nobody should ever look past a man built like a collapsed stone wall.
Minute 2
Negropolis enters behind a sharp forearm and attempts to force Brakk Bloodmaw toward the neutral corner.
Brakk Bloodmaw reverses the position and drives his shoulder repeatedly into the abdomen of Negropolis.
As “Honest” Abe orders Brakk Bloodmaw to break from the corner, Count Daculescu circles behind the referee. He removes a small metal object from inside his coat and drives it into the ribs of Negropolis through the ropes.
Negropolis folds forward.
Brakk Bloodmaw drags him away from the ropes and hammers him across the back before Negropolis escapes toward his corner and tags Santa Claus.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Count Daculescu just struck Negropolis with something concealed in his hand! “Honest” Abe never saw it!
Eddie Ellington: I saw Count Daculescu adjusting his cuff. It is hardly his fault that Negropolis leaned into the man’s personal space.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: That is an outrageous interpretation.
Eddie Ellington: It is an accurate interpretation from an excellent angle.
Minute 3
Santa Claus steps through the ropes and meets Brakk Bloodmaw in the centre of the ring.
The two heavyweights collide shoulder to shoulder.
Neither man moves.
They collide a second time. Brakk Bloodmaw gains half a step, but Santa Claus plants his boots and shoves him backward.
At ringside, Ace MacDougal calls to Santa Claus, urging him not to be drawn toward the opposing corner. Santa Claus listens, changes his angle, and drives Brakk Bloodmaw into the ropes with a series of compact body shots.
Brakk Bloodmaw absorbs the blows and smiles.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Ace MacDougal reminding Santa Claus to remain aware of the Crimson Maulers’ corner. That is valuable guidance in a match like this.
Eddie Ellington: It is also a clear indication that Santa Claus requires adult supervision. Brakk Bloodmaw took those shots and barely blinked.
Minute 4
Santa Claus and Brakk Bloodmaw lock up again.
The struggle carries them across the ring before both men separate and circle.
Santa Claus suddenly accelerates and drives Brakk Bloodmaw backward with the Reindeer Charge.
The impact sends Brakk Bloodmaw into the ropes, but he rebounds before Santa Claus can reset. Brakk Bloodmaw catches him, hooks both arms, and plants him with the Mauler Driver.
The crowd gasps as Santa Claus rolls onto his side.
At the top of the ramp, Van Helsing watches Brakk Bloodmaw return to his feet. Beside him, The Sisters of the Hood remain focused on The Master of the Night.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: A tremendous Reindeer Charge from Santa Claus, followed immediately by a devastating Mauler Driver from Brakk Bloodmaw. Neither team is giving the other a moment to breathe.
Eddie Ellington: Brakk Bloodmaw took three hundred pounds directly through his chest and still had the strength to drive Santa Claus into the canvas. That is what I call an introduction.
Minute 5
Santa Claus rises near the ropes and catches Brakk Bloodmaw with a hard right hand.
A second right hand forces Brakk Bloodmaw down to one knee.
Santa Claus runs the ropes and crashes across him with Down the Chimney.
Rather than cover, Santa Claus pulls Brakk Bloodmaw upright. The decision costs him. Brakk Bloodmaw slips behind, lifts Santa Claus, and delivers another Bloodmoon Driver.
Both competitors remain down for several seconds.
Brakk Bloodmaw crawls to his corner and tags Vereyk Nightclaw.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Santa Claus had an opportunity after Down the Chimney, but he tried to maintain the attack instead of taking the cover.
Eddie Ellington: Compassion and poor judgment often wear the same red suit. Brakk Bloodmaw punished the mistake and brought in the fresher Vereyk Nightclaw.
Minute 6
Vereyk Nightclaw enters and immediately attacks the ribs of Santa Claus with short forearms.
Santa Claus catches the next strike, turns his hips, and launches Vereyk Nightclaw across the ring with the Tinsel Toss.
Vereyk Nightclaw lands hard but rises quickly.
When Santa Claus advances, Vereyk Nightclaw uses his momentum against him and sends the former North Pole Champion flying with the Moonfall Slam.
The camera cuts to Mina Harker in the upper level. She does not react to the impact. Her attention remains fixed on The Master of the Night, who has yet to enter the match.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Excellent power from Santa Claus, but Vereyk Nightclaw answered with leverage and timing. The Crimson Maulers offer two very different forms of danger.
Eddie Ellington: Brakk Bloodmaw breaks the door down. Vereyk Nightclaw walks through and takes inventory. That is why they are so effective.
Minute 7
Vereyk Nightclaw stalks Santa Claus toward the corner.
Santa Claus suddenly straightens and releases a booming Yuletide Yell.
The crowd answers with him.
The unexpected roar causes Vereyk Nightclaw to hesitate. Santa Claus uses that instant to drive a forearm into his chest and send him stumbling backward.
Santa Claus follows with another forearm and a heavy clothesline.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: The voice of Santa Claus brought this entire arena into the match, and Vereyk Nightclaw lost his concentration for just a moment.
Eddie Ellington: Shouting loudly is not a wrestling hold, although I understand why this crowd might be confused about that.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: It created an opening, and Santa Claus took advantage.
Eddie Ellington: Then Vereyk Nightclaw will make certain there is no second opening.
Minute 8
Santa Claus catches Vereyk Nightclaw around the torso and locks in the Candy Cane Crush.
Vereyk Nightclaw struggles as Santa Claus compresses his ribs and lifts him away from the canvas.
Rather than submit, Vereyk Nightclaw drives his forehead into the face of Santa Claus. He breaks the hold, changes his grip, and throws Santa Claus with another Moonfall Slam.
Vereyk Nightclaw tries to rise, but Santa Claus catches him again and reapplies the Candy Cane Crush.
Vereyk Nightclaw refuses to submit. He claws his way toward the ropes and forces the break.
Both men retreat to their corners.
Santa Claus tags Jack Mason.
Vereyk Nightclaw looks toward his own corner.
For the first time, The Master of the Night extends his hand.
The tag is made.
The entire crowd rises.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Here we go. Jack Mason and The Master of the Night are finally legal at the same time.
Eddie Ellington: This is the moment everyone came to see. Jack Mason wanted the master of this operation. Now he has him.
Minute 9
Jack Mason enters at full speed.
The Master of the Night barely clears the ropes before Jack Mason catches him with a kick to the abdomen and drives him down with the Neighborly Reminder.
North Pole Arena erupts.
Jack Mason reaches for him again, but The Master of the Night rises with startling speed and clamps one hand around the throat of Jack Mason.

Negropolis enters and snaps The Master of the Night over with a quick suplex.
Before Negropolis can follow, Brakk Bloodmaw and Vereyk Nightclaw enter the ring.
The Master of the Night drives a rising knee into the chest of Negropolis. Brakk Bloodmaw nearly turns him inside out with the Bloodmaw Lariat. Vereyk Nightclaw then traps Negropolis against the ropes and clubs him repeatedly across the shoulders.
Jack Mason and Santa Claus attempt to enter, but “Honest” Abe rushes to stop them.
During the confusion, Negropolis catches The Master of the Night and throws him with another snap suplex, but the Crimson Maulers drag Negropolis back toward their corner.
The referee finally restores order.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Three men attacking Negropolis while the referee was occupied with his partners! That was deliberate and expertly coordinated.
Eddie Ellington: Precisely. That is what makes them exceptional. The Master of the Night and the Crimson Maulers understand that a six-man tag is about controlling traffic as much as controlling your opponent.
Minute 11
Negropolis tries to fight out of the opposing corner.
He lands a forearm on Brakk Bloodmaw and another on Vereyk Nightclaw, but The Master of the Night catches him from behind.
One arm wraps around the neck. The other traps the shoulder.
The Master of the Night pulls Negropolis backward into Night’s Dominion, a punishing combination of a cobra clutch and dragon sleeper.
Negropolis reaches toward his corner, but he is stranded in the centre of the ring.
Jack Mason pounds the turnbuckle and shouts encouragement.

Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Night’s Dominion is locked in deeply. Negropolis cannot turn his body, and he cannot reach his partners.
Eddie Ellington: Look at the placement of the hands and the angle of the neck. The Master of the Night is not merely applying pressure. He is removing every possible escape one piece at a time.

Negropolis manages to roll partially onto his side and loosen Night’s Dominion.
The Master of the Night immediately changes position and wraps both arms around the head and neck of Negropolis with the Blood Drain Sleeper.
Negropolis begins to fade.
“Honest” Abe checks his arm, but Negropolis keeps it raised.
The crowd rallies behind him.
Negropolis forces himself to one knee, then to his feet. He backs The Master of the Night into the turnbuckles and creates enough separation to dive toward his corner.
Jack Mason receives the tag.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Extraordinary resilience from Negropolis. He survived two consecutive submission holds and found a way back to his corner.
Eddie Ellington: Survived is the appropriate word. The Master of the Night controlled every second of that exchange, and Negropolis escaped only because desperation briefly outweighed exhaustion.
Minute 13
Jack Mason climbs through the ropes and charges.
He knocks The Master of the Night down with a running forearm, then drives a pointed elbow into the chest with Little Encouragement.
Jack Mason delivers a second elbow and hooks the leg.
“Honest” Abe reaches a count of one before The Master of the Night throws a shoulder up.
Jack Mason pulls him upright and speaks directly into his face, demanding to know where Edie Mason is.

Negropolis enters before The Master of the Night can rise fully.
He catches the newcomer around the body and drives him into the canvas with Black Doom.
The impact finally forces a visible reaction from The Master of the Night.
Negropolis hooks the leg, but The Master of the Night kicks out before the count can reach two.
Negropolis immediately tags Jack Mason back into the match.

Rather than overextend, Negropolis retreats and tags Jack Mason.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Excellent preparation from Negropolis. He recognized the grip, controlled the wrist, and prevented The Master of the Night from applying the hold.

Her hair appears noticeably longer than it did when she was taken.
Her face seems paler.
She looks toward the camera but does not speak.
Inside the ring, Jack Mason stops moving.
The crowd falls silent.
Ace MacDougal steps onto the apron while Flippers looks up at the screen from the arena floor.
Negropolis slowly turns toward The Master of the Night.
The lights return in a deep crimson glow.
Count Daculescu hands a microphone through the ropes.
The Master of the Night accepts it without taking his eyes from Jack Mason.

Inside the luxury box, Count Vlad finally turns away from the glass. Infernus Rex follows him from view.
In the ring, Jack Mason stands between Negropolis and Santa Claus, staring after The Master of the Night.
His hands tremble with anger.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Edie Mason is still being held, and The Master of the Night used her image to torment Jack Mason after thirty minutes of competition. Whatever respect his performance may have earned, that was calculated cruelty.
Eddie Ellington: It was calculated, certainly. The Master of the Night did not merely make his debut tonight. He entered Jack Mason’s mind, rearranged the furniture, and left the door open behind him.

Eddie Ellington: Good. After what we just witnessed, I would prefer to know exactly how many more disasters management has scheduled for August.
The music of Goldie Locks begins.
Goldie Locks steps onto the stage carrying a gold-trimmed folder. She wears a confident smile as she acknowledges the crowd and makes her way toward the ring.
A moment later, the colder, more restrained entrance music of Elias Coldmere follows.
The Polar Division General Manager emerges with a second folder in hand. He pauses briefly beneath the Fallout graphic before joining Goldie Locks on the ramp.
The two officials enter the ring together.
Two microphones have been left on a podium positioned between them.
Goldie Locks takes one microphone while Elias Coldmere takes the other.
Goldie Locks: On Sunday, August 23, the divisions of NPCW come together for Fallout.
The crowd cheers.

Goldie Locks turns calmly toward him.
Goldie Locks: I did.
Elias Coldmere: After everything that has occurred between them, you believe removing disqualifications and requiring one of them to be rendered unable to stand is responsible?
Goldie Locks: I believe repeatedly placing them in ordinary matches has failed to contain the problem.
Elias Coldmere: Containment and escalation are not the same thing.
Goldie Locks: Neither is caution and avoidance.
The crowd reacts to the tension between the two officials.
Goldie Locks: Polly Mason asked for the match. Dr. Violetta Voss accepted it. Both competitors have been informed of the consequences, and both will sign the final liability agreement before the event.

The crowd cheers for the challengers.

Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: A tremendous power contest. The champions possess extraordinary size and aggression, but Blitzen and Donner have spent years working together.

The screen changes.

The crowd responds with a mixture of cheers and hostility.

The championship graphic fades.
A wall of fire fills the screen before splitting down the centre.
Krampus appears on one side.

A deep impact shakes the arena as the North Pole Championship appears on the screen.

The crowd rises as the complete graphic locks into place.

Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: The champion will face three men with very different motivations. Santa Claus wants to reclaim the title, Rudolph wants to prove he belongs at the highest level, and Infernus Rex wants to place the North Pole under the control of the Infernal Legion.

He is no longer wearing his ring gear. A burgundy sweater covers the damage sustained during the opening match. Ace MacDougal, Negropolis, and Flippers are not with him.
For once, Jack Mason does not rush toward the ring.
He stands at the top of the ramp with a microphone in one hand.
His expression is calm.
Too calm.
Elias Coldmere lowers his microphone and watches him carefully.
Jack Mason: You missed one.
The crowd begins chanting for Jack Mason.
Elias Coldmere: Jack, this is not the appropriate—
Jack Mason: I am not asking for a meeting.
Jack Mason looks toward the screen behind him.
Jack Mason: I am not asking for another team match. I am not asking for Negropolis, Santa Claus, or anyone else to stand beside me.
His gaze returns to Elias Coldmere.
Jack Mason: I want The Master of the Night.
The crowd erupts.
Jack Mason: One-on-one.
Elias Coldmere: After what happened tonight, I am not authorizing a match based solely upon anger.
Jack Mason: This is not anger.
A faint smile crosses the face of Jack Mason.
Jack Mason: Anger is loud.
He pauses.
Jack Mason: This is neighbourly concern.
Eddie Ellington: That man is one sentence away from being removed by security.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Jack Mason has never sounded more serious.
Jack Mason: He came into my home. He took Edie Mason. He sent his animals after my friends. Tonight, he stood in this ring and showed me what he believes he can do.
Jack Mason takes one slow step down the ramp.
Jack Mason: At Fallout, I want the opportunity to show him what happens when the neighbour finally stops knocking.
The crowd roars again.

The main screen fills with static.
A dark chamber slowly comes into view.
The Master of the Night sits in a high-backed chair, almost entirely concealed by shadow. Only the pale outline of his face and the red lining of his coat are visible.
Count Daculescu stands several steps behind him.
Inside the ring, Goldie Locks turns toward the screen.
Elias Coldmere remains still.
At the top of the ramp, Jack Mason looks upward without surprise.

A quiet smile forms on his face.

The crowd reacts loudly.

Inside the ring, Elias Coldmere looks from the graphic to Jack Mason.
Elias Coldmere: The challenge has been issued. The challenge has been accepted.
The crowd quiets enough for the General Manager to continue.
Elias Coldmere: At Fallout, Jack Mason will face The Master of the Night in a No Disqualification Match.
The official graphic flashes once more.
Elias Coldmere: But understand this, Jack Mason. No disqualification does not mean no consequences.
Jack Mason: Consequences are why I asked.
Jack Mason lowers the microphone and walks back through the curtain.
Goldie Locks watches him leave before turning toward Elias Coldmere.
Goldie Locks: You were concerned about my Last Woman Standing Match.
Elias Coldmere: I remain concerned about your Last Woman Standing Match.
Goldie Locks: I thought you might.
Eddie Ellington: Management has now sanctioned two personal grudges without disqualifications. That is not a supercard. That is an insurance investigation with entrance music.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: The Fallout card is now complete, and the stakes could not be greater. Five championship matches, deeply personal rivalries, a Fatal Four-Way main event, and now Jack Mason against The Master of the Night with no disqualifications.

At ringside, Johnny “The Mic” Michaels turns toward the entrance ramp.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: That announcement has added another layer of pressure to our next contest. Polly Mason now knows exactly what awaits her at Fallout, but tonight she must remain focused on the dangerous and unpredictable Moon Silver.
Eddie Ellington: Focus is not exactly a Mason family specialty. One Mason is chasing monsters through the neighbourhood, and another has agreed to a match where the objective is to leave a doctor unconscious on the floor.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Polly Mason asked for that opportunity because she wants to end her rivalry with Dr. Violetta Voss decisively.
Eddie Ellington: And Moon Silver would be delighted to make certain Polly Mason reaches Fallout already damaged.
The arena lights dim.
A single spotlight settles upon the entrance stage as a measured piano melody begins.
Burgundy and silver light spreads across the ramp.
Polly Mason steps through the curtain wearing a dark entrance coat over her black-and-gold ring attire. Her red hair falls across one shoulder as she pauses beneath the spotlight.
Ace MacDougal emerges behind her, speaking calmly while carrying her silver-handled cane.
Flippers waddles through the curtain beside them and raises both wings toward the crowd.
The reaction inside North Pole Arena grows louder.
Polly Mason glances briefly toward the Fallout logo displayed on a secondary screen. Her expression remains controlled, but her eyes reveal that the confrontation with Dr. Violetta Voss is already occupying part of her thoughts.
Ace MacDougal places one hand on her shoulder and redirects her attention toward the ring.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: That is why Ace MacDougal is so valuable. He knows Polly Mason cannot afford to look beyond tonight.
Eddie Ellington: She just agreed to a Last Woman Standing Match with Dr. Violetta Voss. Looking beyond tonight may be the only way she avoids reconsidering every decision that brought her here.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Polly Mason has repeatedly demonstrated that she does not run from difficult situations.
Eddie Ellington: Neither does a person walking into traffic while reading a map. Courage and judgment are not always travelling together.
Polly Mason walks down the ramp with Ace MacDougal and Flippers.
At ringside, she removes her entrance coat and hands it to Ace MacDougal. She kneels briefly beside Flippers, who taps one wing against her hand.
Polly Mason slides beneath the bottom rope and rises in the centre of the ring.
Her music fades.
A distant wolf howl moves through the arena.
The lighting changes to silver, blue, and black.
A full moon appears across the main screen as artificial mist rolls over the entrance stage.
Several members of the Wolf Pack step through the curtain first. They spread across the top of the ramp, forming a loose semicircle around the entrance.
A second howl sounds.
Moon Silver emerges between them.
Silver markings catch the arena lights across her dark ring attire. She lowers her head, flexes her hands, and then looks directly toward Polly Mason.
The Wolf Pack begins moving down the ramp around her.
Eddie Ellington: Now this is intelligent preparation. Moon Silver did not come alone. The Wolf Pack understands that strength increases with numbers.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Numbers that are not legally permitted to become involved in this match.
Eddie Ellington: They are here to provide emotional support.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: They are surrounding the ring.
Eddie Ellington: Very supportive people.
Moon Silver climbs onto the apron and crouches against the ropes.
She springs over the top rope and lands lightly inside the ring.
The Wolf Pack takes positions around ringside while Ace MacDougal and Flippers remain near the opposite corner.
Polly Mason and Moon Silver move toward one another, but “Honest” Abe steps between them and directs each competitor back.
Celeste Orion enters the centre of the ring.
Celeste Orion: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall!
Celeste Orion turns toward the first corner.
Celeste Orion: Introducing first, accompanied by Ace MacDougal and Flippers, representing the Misfits of Mayhem, Polly Mason!
Polly Mason raises one arm as the crowd cheers.

Moon Silver spreads her arms and receives a mixture of cheers and boos.

“Honest” Abe checks both competitors before turning toward the members of the Wolf Pack.
He warns them that any interference may result in an immediate disqualification.
The Wolf Pack responds with innocent gestures.
Eddie Ellington: Completely unnecessary. “Honest” Abe is already assuming wrongdoing before the bell.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: They have surrounded the ring, Eddie Ellington.
Eddie Ellington: Excellent seating is not a crime.
“Honest” Abe signals for the bell.

Polly Mason circles quickly and catches Moon Silver with a forearm as she attempts to close the distance.
Moon Silver reaches for a waistlock, but Polly Mason turns beneath her arm and pulls her down across her shoulder with a neckbreaker.
Polly Mason makes the first cover.
Moon Silver kicks out at one and rolls immediately toward the ropes.
Polly Mason follows her, but Moon Silver places her upper body between the ropes and forces “Honest” Abe to order a break.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Strong beginning from Polly Mason. She prevented the waistlock and converted directly into that neckbreaker.
Eddie Ellington: Moon Silver was gathering information. She now knows how quickly Polly Mason changes direction. The first minute is for learning, not panicking.
Minute 2
Moon Silver draws Polly Mason toward the ropes before slipping beneath her attempted clothesline.
She rebounds from the opposite side, jumps onto the middle rope, and launches herself backward with the Lunar Pounce.
The springboard crossbody drives Polly Mason into the canvas.
Moon Silver hooks both legs.
Polly Mason escapes before the count reaches two.
Moon Silver rises first and gives a sharp howl toward the crowd.
The Wolf Pack answers from ringside.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Tremendous athleticism from Moon Silver. She used the ropes without sacrificing control of her landing.
Eddie Ellington: That is the movement of a natural predator. Polly Mason never saw the Lunar Pounce coming until Moon Silver was already on top of her.
Minute 3
Polly Mason catches Moon Silver during another charge and throws her overhead with a vertical suplex.
Moon Silver lands heavily near the centre of the ring.
As “Honest” Abe checks her condition, two members of the Wolf Pack reach beneath the bottom rope and seize Polly Mason by the ankles.
They pull her onto the arena floor.
A third member drives Polly Mason into the edge of the ring before Ace MacDougal can reach them.
The Wolf Pack disperses immediately.
Ace MacDougal points toward the offenders and demands that “Honest” Abe turn around, but the referee sees only Polly Mason lying near the apron and the Wolf Pack standing several feet away.
Polly Mason forces herself back into the ring.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: The Wolf Pack pulled Polly Mason out of the ring and drove her into the apron! “Honest” Abe missed everything!
Eddie Ellington: I saw Polly Mason lose her balance while leaving the ring.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: She did not leave the ring willingly.
Eddie Ellington: Then she should improve her footing.
Minute 4
Moon Silver attacks as soon as Polly Mason returns.
She lifts her for the Howling Slam, but Polly Mason twists around her body and counters with a Tornado DDT.
Moon Silver’s head strikes the canvas, but she rolls immediately onto one knee.
When Polly Mason advances, Moon Silver catches her around the waist and drives her down with the Howling Slam.
Both competitors remain on the mat for several seconds.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Two major impacts in rapid succession. Polly Mason countered beautifully with the Tornado DDT, but Moon Silver recovered and delivered the Howling Slam.
Eddie Ellington: That recovery is why Moon Silver is so dangerous. She does not waste time admiring her opponent’s offence. She gets back up and returns something heavier.
Minute 5
Moon Silver pulls Polly Mason upright and drives a knee into her midsection.
She lifts her across her body and delivers a second Howling Slam.
This time, Moon Silver presses her forearm across Polly Mason’s face during the cover.
Polly Mason raises one shoulder before the count reaches two.
Moon Silver keeps her weight across her and forces “Honest” Abe to order a clean separation.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Another Howling Slam from Moon Silver, and Polly Mason is beginning to feel the cumulative effect across her back.
Eddie Ellington: Moon Silver has identified the target. That is efficient wrestling. Meanwhile, Polly Mason is probably thinking about ladders, chains, and the terrible decisions waiting for her on August 23.
Minute 6
One member of the Wolf Pack climbs onto the apron.
Ace MacDougal immediately alerts “Honest” Abe.
The referee turns and catches the interference attempt before it can develop. He orders the intruder down and warns the entire group that another incident will end the match.
While the referee is occupied, Moon Silver catches Polly Mason around the waist.
She lifts her high and drives her down with a sitout powerbomb.
Moon Silver maintains the cover.
“Honest” Abe turns back and counts one.
Polly Mason escapes at two.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Ace MacDougal prevented another attack by the Wolf Pack, but the distraction gave Moon Silver enough time to deliver that sitout powerbomb.
Eddie Ellington: Ace MacDougal created the distraction by shouting at the referee. Moon Silver simply continued wrestling. She should be commended for her concentration.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: You have managed to blame Ace MacDougal for the conduct of the Wolf Pack.
Eddie Ellington: Leadership requires accepting consequences.

Moon Silver attempts to pull Polly Mason toward the centre of the ring.
Polly Mason catches her with an elbow beneath the jaw and charges.
She lowers her shoulder and sends Moon Silver over the top rope.
Moon Silver lands on the arena floor near the Wolf Pack.
“Honest” Abe begins the count.
At one, Moon Silver rises.
At two, she slides back beneath the bottom rope.
Polly Mason tries to catch her as she enters, but Moon Silver rolls beyond her reach and returns to her feet.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Polly Mason created some distance, but Moon Silver returned immediately. She did not allow the count to become a factor.
Eddie Ellington: Why would she? The Wolf Pack was waiting outside. Moon Silver merely took a brief tactical consultation.
Minute 8
Polly Mason dives toward the legs of Moon Silver and catches her ankle.
She twists into an ankle lock and attempts to pull her away from the ropes.
Moon Silver rolls forward before the hold can be fully secured.
The momentum sends Polly Mason into the turnbuckles.
Moon Silver rises and delivers a sharp kick behind her knee before retreating to the centre of the ring.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Excellent counter from Moon Silver. Polly Mason had the ankle, but she never established complete control of the hip.
Eddie Ellington: Moon Silver knew exactly where the ropes were and exactly how much rotation she needed. That is instinct combined with preparation.

Polly Mason turns out of the corner and ducks beneath a charging forearm.
She jumps onto the middle rope and swings around Moon Silver’s head.
Polly Mason drives her into the canvas with another Tornado DDT.
Moon Silver lands near the ropes but cannot immediately roll outside.
Polly Mason hooks the leg.
Moon Silver lifts one shoulder at two.

Polly Mason prevents Moon Silver from reaching the Wolf Pack and pulls her back toward the centre.

Flippers climbs onto the apron and begins flapping both wings toward Moon Silver.
The unexpected movement draws Moon Silver’s attention.
Ace MacDougal immediately lifts Flippers down, but the distraction has already created an opening.
Polly Mason moves forward.
Moon Silver turns suddenly and drives through her with the Alpha Strike.
The spear folds Polly Mason in half.
Moon Silver remains on one knee after the impact, still feeling the effects of the repeated Tornado DDTs.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: The Alpha Strike connected! Flippers distracted Moon Silver, but Moon Silver recovered before Polly Mason could capitalize.
Eddie Ellington: That penguin should be removed from ringside. Moon Silver was defending herself from an airborne menace and still found the concentration to spear Polly Mason out of her boots.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Flippers never entered the ring.
Eddie Ellington: Neither does a weather balloon, but I would still notice one flapping beside my head.

Moon Silver attempts to rise but remains slowed by the accumulated punishment.
At ringside, Ace MacDougal calls to Polly Mason.
He reminds her to remain calm, use the space around her, and force Moon Silver to react.
Polly Mason pulls herself upright with the ropes.

Eddie Ellington: Loyalty is apparently illegal when it becomes effective.

The Wolf Pack continues surrounding Polly Mason until Ace MacDougal pulls her toward the corner.
Flippers stands in front of them with his wings spread.
Moon Silver rises and finally orders the Wolf Pack to withdraw.
The group backs toward the ropes together.
Moon Silver remains inside the ring for several seconds, staring at Polly Mason.
She points toward her and then toward the Fallout logo still displayed above the arena.
Eddie Ellington: Moon Silver did not lose because Polly Mason was superior. She lost because “Honest” Abe decided to punish her for having loyal friends.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Moon Silver is responsible for the people she brought to ringside. Their interference cost her the match.
Eddie Ellington: Then perhaps Polly Mason should also be disqualified for bringing a counsellor and an aggressive penguin.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Polly Mason has earned the victory, but she has also endured a physical match and a post-match assault less than two weeks before facing Dr. Violetta Voss in a Last Woman Standing Match. Tonight proved that her road to Fallout will offer no easy preparation.
SEGMENT 6 — MATCH 3
VAN HELSING VS. MARCUS THE BEASTMASTER
The broadcast returns to North Pole Arena as the ring is cleared following the previous contest.
A replay briefly shows several moments from Van Helsing’s match one week ago. His timing appears uneven, his reactions fractionally delayed, and several movements lack the sharpness expected from the experienced hunter.
The footage fades back to the commentary desk.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: One week ago, Van Helsing returned to competition and showed understandable signs of ring rust. His instincts remained intact, but his timing and endurance were not yet where he wanted them to be.
Eddie Ellington: Understandable to you, perhaps. Marcus the Beastmaster will not care whether Van Helsing needs another practice session. Ring rust is simply weakness with a polite explanation.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Van Helsing has spent the past week preparing to correct those problems.
Eddie Ellington: And Marcus the Beastmaster has spent the week preparing to expose them again.
The arena lights dim to deep brown and amber.
The sound of heavy drums begins beneath a low animal growl.
A clawed emblem appears across the main screen.
Marcus the Beastmaster steps through the curtain.
He wears rugged dark ring attire trimmed with leather and fur. Heavy wrist guards cover his forearms, and a row of animal teeth hangs around his neck. He stops at the top of the ramp and slowly scans the crowd before striking his chest with one closed fist.
Another growl echoes through the arena.
Marcus the Beastmaster begins walking toward the ring with deliberate, heavy steps.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Marcus the Beastmaster combines considerable power with a remarkably aggressive instinct. He does not merely attempt to defeat an opponent. He tries to overwhelm them physically.
Eddie Ellington: That is because Marcus the Beastmaster understands competition. You do not ask whether the wounded animal needs another week to recover. You move in before it remembers how to fight.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Van Helsing is hardly wounded prey.
Eddie Ellington: We will know that after Marcus the Beastmaster finishes inspecting him.
Marcus the Beastmaster climbs onto the apron and steps over the middle rope.
He walks to the centre of the ring and spreads his arms as another roar sounds through the arena.
The lighting changes.
Cold white beams cross above the entrance stage while a measured orchestral rhythm begins.
A silver cross appears on the main screen, surrounded by dark red light.
Van Helsing emerges through the curtain.
He wears a long dark hunter’s coat over his ring attire. Leather straps cross his chest, and silver buckles catch the overhead lighting as he pauses beneath the entrance arch.
Unlike the previous week, Van Helsing does not survey the arena.
His attention is fixed entirely upon Marcus the Beastmaster.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: There is a noticeably different focus in Van Helsing tonight. He knows his performance last week raised questions, and this is his opportunity to answer them.
Eddie Ellington: Looking serious is easy. Moving quickly after Marcus the Beastmaster drives you into the canvas is considerably more difficult.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Experience matters, and few competitors possess more of it than Van Helsing.
Eddie Ellington: Experience is what people mention when they no longer want to discuss speed.
Van Helsing walks steadily down the ramp.
He removes his coat at ringside and folds it over the barricade rather than taking his eyes from his opponent.
Marcus the Beastmaster leans across the ropes and gestures for him to enter.
Van Helsing climbs the steps and passes between the ropes.
The two men immediately move toward one another.
“Honest” Abe steps between them and orders both competitors back to their corners.

Celeste Orion: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall!

Marcus the Beastmaster raises both arms and receives a mixed reaction from the crowd.

The crowd cheers as Van Helsing raises one fist.

Marcus the Beastmaster moves forward aggressively and attempts to drive Van Helsing backward with a collar-and-elbow tie-up.
Van Helsing lowers his centre of gravity, turns beneath the pressure, and lifts Marcus the Beastmaster across his body.
Van Helsing drives him into the canvas with a powerslam.
Rather than covering immediately, Van Helsing rises and takes a moment to measure the distance between them.
Marcus the Beastmaster rolls onto one knee and glares upward.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Strong opening from Van Helsing. He allowed Marcus the Beastmaster to apply the initial pressure and then used that momentum to complete the powerslam.

Eddie Ellington: That is the difference in this match. Van Helsing lands one strike and expects respect. Marcus the Beastmaster gets hit and becomes irritated.

Van Helsing rises and fires another roundhouse right.
Marcus the Beastmaster staggers but remains standing.
As Van Helsing steps closer, Marcus the Beastmaster drives a boot into his midsection and forces him down near the ropes.
Marcus the Beastmaster plants another heavy stomp across the chest.
Van Helsing rolls toward the corner before Marcus the Beastmaster can deliver a second.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Marcus the Beastmaster is using his weight effectively. He is not allowing Van Helsing to establish a comfortable striking rhythm.
Eddie Ellington: Because Marcus the Beastmaster sees the hesitation. Van Helsing still pauses after every exchange as though he expects the rest of the world to wait for him.

Van Helsing catches Marcus the Beastmaster charging into the corner.
He steps aside, hooks him around the waist, and drives him down with another powerslam.

He catches Van Helsing around the waist, spins him across his body, and plants him with the Alpha Slam.

Neither gains immediate control.

Beside her is Rudolph.
The damage from his confrontation with the Infernal Legion remains immediately visible. One antler is still broken near the base. A white medical eye patch covers one eye, while fading bruises remain across his shoulders and upper body.
Despite the injuries, Rudolph stands upright.
There is no hesitation in his posture.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Earlier tonight, Elias Coldmere confirmed that the North Pole Championship will be defended at Fallout in a Fatal Four-Way Match. Grondar the Revenant will defend against Santa Claus, Infernus Rex, and my guest at this time, Rudolph.
The crowd can be heard cheering from inside the arena.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Rudolph, you have not yet been medically cleared to compete. How can you be certain that you will be ready for a championship match of that magnitude?
Rudolph looks directly into the camera.
Rudolph: Because the doctors gave me a date.
He taps one finger against the edge of his eye patch.
Rudolph: August 20.
Smooth Samantha Satin: You have officially been cleared to return to action on August 20?
Rudolph: That is what the paperwork says.
A determined smile crosses his face.
Rudolph: Three days before Fallout.
Smooth Samantha Satin: That gives you only a very small window between receiving medical clearance and entering a Fatal Four-Way Match for the North Pole Championship.
Rudolph: I have spent enough time waiting.
His expression hardens.
Rudolph: Waiting for the swelling to go down. Waiting for the headaches to stop. Waiting for the doctors to tell me whether this eye was going to recover. Waiting for someone to repair what the Infernal Legion tried to break.
Rudolph reaches up and touches the damaged antler.
Rudolph: This is not growing back before Fallout.
He lowers his hand.
Rudolph: That is fine.
Smooth Samantha Satin: You sound less concerned about the championship than you are about Infernus Rex.
Rudolph: The championship matters.
He looks toward the Fallout logo beside them.

Rudolph: I want to make certain that never happens.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Is that why you accepted a place in the match before you were medically cleared?
Rudolph: I did not accept a place.
He steps slightly closer to the microphone.
Rudolph: I earned one.
Rudolph: The Infernal Legion attacked me because they wanted me removed. They broke my antler. They damaged my eye. They tried to make certain I would not be standing when Infernus Rex moved toward the North Pole Championship.
His voice remains controlled, but the anger beneath it becomes unmistakable.
Rudolph: They failed.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Fatal Four-Way rules mean you could become champion without defeating Infernus Rex directly. You could also lose the match without being involved in the deciding fall. How do you approach a contest with that much uncertainty?
Rudolph: By keeping my head moving and my good eye open.
A brief smile appears on the face of Smooth Samantha Satin.
Rudolph: Grondar the Revenant is the champion for a reason. He is powerful, disciplined, and difficult to stop.
Rudolph: Santa Claus knows what that championship demands because he has carried it before.

He pauses.

Rudolph turns fully toward the camera.

The Alpha Beast towers over the interview area, forcing the camera to widen merely to contain his full frame. Frost still clings to sections of his thick white fur from his arrival at North Pole Arena. His arms hang heavily at his sides, and his eyes remain fixed upon the championship graphic.
There is no Marcus the Beastmaster.
There is no Primal Horde.
Yeti has come alone.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Last week on HCW, you interrupted the celebration of newly crowned Convergent Champion Jack Lumber. You accused him of hiding from his past and claimed that the man these fans now celebrate is still Timberfang underneath.
Yeti slowly turns toward her.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Jack Lumber responded by telling you to come and discover why he buried that part of himself.
A low growl rolls from the chest of Yeti.
Yeti: I came.
His gaze returns to the monitor.
Yeti: Tonight, there are no forests between us.
Yeti: No frozen transmission.
Yeti: No screen for Jack Lumber to stare through while he pretends the name Timberfang belongs to someone else.
He steps closer to the camera.
Yeti: Tonight, he stands in front of me.
Smooth Samantha Satin: You have made this deeply personal, but tonight is also a championship match. Is taking the Convergent Championship your primary objective, or is exposing Jack Lumber’s past more important to you?
Yeti looks down at Smooth Samantha Satin.
Yeti: They are the same objective.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Explain that.
Yeti: The Convergent Championship is supposed to represent two worlds meeting.
He points toward the title displayed on the monitor.
Yeti: HCW and NPCW.

A harsh smile appears beneath his fur.
Yeti: There is no wrestler more suited to carry that championship than Jack Lumber.
Smooth Samantha Satin: That sounds almost complimentary.

The smile disappears.
Yeti: Jack Lumber carries the championship because he wants it to prove his transformation is complete.
Yeti: He wants the gold to tell these people that the betrayals are behind him.
Yeti: That the blood has dried.
Yeti: That the beast who stood beside the Dark Dominion no longer exists.
Yeti shakes his head.
Yeti: A championship does not erase memory.
Yeti: It only gives the liar something valuable to hold while he repeats the story.
Smooth Samantha Satin: Jack Lumber defeated Abaddon to win that championship. Whatever you believe about his past, that victory was earned in the ring.
Yeti: I watched him defeat Abaddon.

His hands slowly close into fists.
Yeti: And beneath the cheering, I heard something familiar.

Yeti: Timberfang breathing.
The interview area becomes quiet.
Yeti: Every time Jack Lumber was hurt, Timberfang pushed him back to his feet.
Yeti: Every time Abaddon struck him, Timberfang answered.
Yeti: The violence that won that championship did not come from the smiling woodsman.
Yeti: It came from the creature he claims to have buried.
Smooth Samantha Satin: You have also made it clear that Count Vlad did not order this challenge. Considering your history with the Dark Dominion, why is that distinction important?
Yeti turns fully toward her.
Yeti: Because Jack Lumber will search for excuses when I break him.
Yeti: He will say Count Vlad sent me.
Yeti: He will say the Dark Dominion cannot accept that he escaped.
Yeti: He will tell himself this is revenge for an old betrayal.
Yeti leans toward the microphone.
Yeti: It is none of those things.
Yeti: Count Vlad did not send me.
Yeti: The Dark Dominion did not summon me.
Yeti: I came because beasts recognize one another.
He looks directly into the camera.
Yeti: And I am tired of watching one beast dress himself like a hero.

The crowd inside the arena can be heard reacting through the backstage walls.

His eyes narrow.

A deep growl enters his voice.

Yeti: When the pain becomes too great, the honorable champion will disappear.
Yeti: The smile will vanish.

Smooth Samantha Satin: You sound as though forcing that transformation would mean more to you than winning.

He steps closer until his massive frame nearly fills the camera.

His lips pull back, exposing his teeth.
Yeti: I did not come to dig him up.

Yeti: The flannel.
Yeti: The honor.
Yeti: The cheers.

He lowers his head toward the camera.
Yeti: When there is nothing left between us, the whole world will finally see the truth.
Yeti: You did not bury Timberfang because you defeated him.
Yeti: You buried him because you were afraid of what he made you.
A rumbling growl builds in his chest.
Yeti: Bring the championship, woodsman.
Yeti: Bring the axe.
Yeti: Bring every lie that helped you sleep after leaving the Dark Dominion.
Yeti: The Alpha Beast will break them all.
Yeti releases a deafening roar that overwhelms the backstage microphone.

Yeti turns away and walks down the corridor toward the arena entrance.

Smooth Samantha Satin: Yeti has made his intentions unmistakable. Tonight, he challenges Jack Lumber for the Convergent Championship, but the Alpha Beast appears equally determined to challenge the identity of the man carrying it.

Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Yeti believes the pressure of this championship match will force Jack Lumber to become Timberfang again. The champion insists that part of his life is over.
Eddie Ellington: Jack Lumber can insist whatever he likes. Yeti is not asking him to confess. He intends to beat the truth out of him.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Jack Lumber earned the Convergent Championship by defeating Abaddon, and he has earned the respect of fans in both NPCW and HCW. Tonight, he must prove that his present is stronger than his past.
Eddie Ellington: Or he can stop pretending, bring back Timberfang, and hope that monster is strong enough to survive the Alpha Beast.

The crowd reacts loudly as the graphic fractures beneath the image of the Convergent Championship.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: It is time for our main event. Jack Lumber captured the Convergent Championship by defeating Abaddon on July 26, but his first defence has become a confrontation with the darkest part of his own history.
Eddie Ellington: Yeti does not believe Jack Lumber defeated his past. He believes the champion dressed Timberfang in flannel, handed him an axe, and taught him how to smile for the crowd.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Jack Lumber has fought hard to prove that his reformation is genuine. Tonight, he must defend both his championship and the man he has chosen to become.
Eddie Ellington: He is facing the Alpha Beast. This is not a therapy session. When Yeti begins tearing him apart, we will find out how much honour remains after survival takes over.
The lights inside North Pole Arena fade.
A violent wind begins moving through the sound system.
The main screen shows a frozen wilderness beneath a black sky. Snow drives sideways between enormous trees. Several trunks lie across the ground, each broken through the centre by raw force.
A deep growl rolls through the arena.
Marcus the Beastmaster steps onto the entrance stage.
A heavy chain is wrapped around one of his fists, although he quickly lowers that hand beside his body when the nearest camera turns toward him.
Marcus the Beastmaster looks back toward the entrance.
A massive silhouette appears within the storm on the screen.
Yeti emerges through the curtain.
The Alpha Beast’s immense frame is covered in thick white fur, with frost clinging to his shoulders and arms. He stops beneath the entrance arch and stares toward the ring.
Marcus the Beastmaster steps to one side.
Yeti raises both arms and releases a roar that shakes through North Pole Arena.
The crowd answers with loud boos.
Eddie Ellington: Look at him. Yeti does not need redemption, approval, or some carefully prepared explanation for his past. He knows exactly what he is.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: He is also entering this championship match with Marcus the Beastmaster, despite telling Smooth Samantha Satin that this challenge belonged to him alone.
Eddie Ellington: He said Count Vlad did not send him. He never promised to abandon intelligent companionship.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Marcus the Beastmaster has a chain wrapped around his hand.
Eddie Ellington: It is cold outside. Perhaps he is carrying emergency equipment.
Yeti begins his march toward the ring.
He does not acknowledge the fans leaning over the barricades. His eyes remain fixed upon the entrance through which the champion will soon appear.

At ringside, Yeti climbs directly onto the apron and steps over the top rope.
He walks to the centre of the ring and lowers himself into a crouch.
Marcus the Beastmaster takes position near the challenger’s corner.
The wind fades.
For several seconds, the arena remains dark.
Then the sound of an axe striking wood echoes once.
A second strike follows.
A third strike splits the darkness.

Jack Lumber steps through the curtain with the Convergent Championship secured around his waist.
He wears his familiar flannel entrance shirt over his ring attire. An axe rests across one shoulder, but his expression contains none of the warmth normally associated with his entrance.
The champion stops at the top of the ramp.
His eyes move first toward Yeti.
Then toward Marcus the Beastmaster.
Finally, Jack Lumber looks down at the championship around his waist.
He removes the axe from his shoulder and plants its head against the stage.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Jack Lumber is not avoiding the history Yeti has placed before him. He knows exactly what this match represents.
Eddie Ellington: He looks like a man attempting to convince himself that the costume still fits. Yeti has already entered his mind, and the bell has not sounded.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Jack Lumber buried the identity of Timberfang because he rejected everything the Dark Dominion made him.
Eddie Ellington: Or because Timberfang frightened him. That is the question Yeti intends to answer.
Jack Lumber lifts the Convergent Championship from his waist and raises it above his head.
The crowd erupts.
He leaves the axe beside the entrance arch and begins walking toward the ring.
Yeti rises from his crouch.
The two men stare at one another throughout the champion’s entire approach.
At ringside, Jack Lumber stops in front of Marcus the Beastmaster.
Marcus the Beastmaster smiles and steps aside, allowing him to pass.
Jack Lumber climbs the ring steps and enters between the ropes.
He moves directly toward Yeti.
“Honest” Abe places both hands against the champion’s chest and orders him toward his corner.
Yeti does not retreat until the referee turns and gives him the same command.
Jack Lumber removes his flannel shirt and hands the Convergent Championship to “Honest” Abe.
The referee raises the title above his head before presenting it toward both competitors.

The crowd cheers.

Jack Lumber raises one fist as North Pole Arena erupts.

“Honest” Abe hands the championship to the timekeeper and checks both competitors.
He turns toward Marcus the Beastmaster and orders him to remove the chain from his hand.
Marcus the Beastmaster unwraps it slowly and places it beside the ring steps.
Eddie Ellington: There. The chain is gone. Are you satisfied?
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: I will be satisfied when Marcus the Beastmaster remains outside the match.
Eddie Ellington: You demand far too much from people.
“Honest” Abe signals for the bell.

Yeti advances with both arms raised, inviting the champion into a direct test of strength.
Jack Lumber appears ready to accept, but suddenly changes direction.
The champion strikes the ropes, rebounds, and catches Yeti beneath the jaw with The Axe.
The heavy running strike rocks the challenger backward.
Yeti remains standing.
Jack Lumber delivers a second forearm and forces the Alpha Beast into the ropes.
Yeti grips the top strand, steadies himself, and slowly smiles.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Jack Lumber connected with The Axe in the opening minute, but Yeti absorbed it without leaving his feet.
Eddie Ellington: The champion used one of his strongest weapons immediately and discovered that the tree did not fall. That is useful information, although I doubt he enjoys having it.

Yeti drives Jack Lumber toward the corner with a series of heavy body shots.
The challenger raises one enormous foot and attempts to plant the Furry Foot Stomp directly across the champion’s face.
Jack Lumber catches the ankle before the boot can descend.
He twists the leg and pulls Yeti away from the corner.
The Alpha Beast loses his balance and drops onto one knee.
Jack Lumber follows with a sharp forearm across the side of the head.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Jack Lumber neutralized the Furry Foot Stomp before Yeti could drive that boot into his face.
Eddie Ellington: He caught the foot, but he could not put Yeti down for long. The champion is already learning how difficult it is to control that much size.

Jack Lumber attempts to pull Yeti fully upright.
The challenger drives him backward into the ropes.
“Honest” Abe steps between them and begins ordering a clean break.
As the referee directs Yeti away, Marcus the Beastmaster reaches through the ropes from behind.
He wraps one forearm across the throat of Jack Lumber and pulls the champion backward against the top strand.
Jack Lumber struggles while Marcus the Beastmaster chokes him out of the referee’s sight.
The moment “Honest” Abe turns, Marcus the Beastmaster releases and steps away.

As Jack Lumber advances, Yeti catches him with a clubbing strike and drives him down.
The Alpha Beast leaps and crashes across the champion’s chest with the Icy Hammer Drop.
Jack Lumber rolls toward the ropes and spots Marcus the Beastmaster within reach.
The champion lunges through the ropes and tries to seize him.
Marcus the Beastmaster steps backward before Jack Lumber can connect.
The failed retaliation leaves the champion draped across the middle rope.

Jack Lumber creates distance with an elbow and lowers his shoulder for a spear.

Yeti attempts another charge into the corner.
Jack Lumber steps aside and catches him with a stiff uppercut.
The strike snaps the challenger’s head backward.
Jack Lumber delivers a second uppercut and begins forcing Yeti toward the centre.
At ringside, Marcus the Beastmaster retrieves the chain he placed near the steps.
He wraps it around his fist and climbs onto the apron behind the champion.
“Honest” Abe moves to check Yeti, whose body blocks the referee’s view.
Marcus the Beastmaster drives the chain-wrapped fist into the back of Jack Lumber’s head.
The champion collapses forward.
Marcus the Beastmaster drops from the apron and hides the chain beneath the ring skirt.
Yeti catches Jack Lumber before he reaches the canvas and throws him down with a heavy slam.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Marcus the Beastmaster struck Jack Lumber with a chain-wrapped fist! That could have ended the match before the referee ever saw the cause!

The Alpha Beast stumbles forward but remains on his feet.

Yeti catches him with a forearm, knocks him down, and drops another Icy Hammer Drop across his chest.

Jack Lumber rises, but Yeti sweeps his legs from beneath him.
The Alpha Beast plants the Furry Foot Stomp across the champion’s face before “Honest” Abe forces him away.

Eddie Ellington: Or it may encourage Yeti to stand up and become considerably more violent. The champion is testing a dangerous theory.

Yeti rises slowly near the ropes.
Jack Lumber moves forward but stops when the Alpha Beast releases another Abominable Growl.
The roar rolls through the arena.
Yeti charges through the hesitation and crushes the champion against the turnbuckles.
He drives repeated shoulder thrusts into the ribs before “Honest” Abe begins a count.
Yeti breaks at four and drags Jack Lumber out of the corner by one arm.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: That growl again created a moment of hesitation, and Yeti used it to drive all of his weight into the champion.
Eddie Ellington: Jack Lumber is beginning to react like prey. The body tightens, the eyes widen, and the mind waits for the next attack instead of creating one.

Yeti attempts another lift.
Jack Lumber drives an elbow into the side of the challenger’s head and escapes behind him.

Jack Lumber blocks an attempted forearm and catches Yeti with The Axe.
The strike turns the challenger sideways.
Yeti rebounds from the ropes and nearly takes the champion’s head off with the Frigid Blast lariat.
Both men collapse.

Yeti kicks out immediately after the first count and sits upright.

Eddie Ellington: Perhaps “Honest” Abe should not have placed his head so close to a dangerous man’s fist.

Marcus the Beastmaster turns toward him in shock.
Bigfoot drives a boot into Marcus the Beastmaster’s chest and knocks him backward.
Yeti releases Jack Lumber and charges.
Bigfoot catches the Alpha Beast around the throat.
The crowd rises as Bigfoot lifts Yeti from the canvas and drives him down with an enormous chokeslam.

Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: The interference began when Marcus the Beastmaster attacked the referee and entered with a chain. Yeti participated in that attempted assault. Bigfoot answered the interference, and Jack Lumber survived long enough to retain his title.

His eyes settle upon Bigfoot.
The two beasts stare at one another across the ropes.
Eddie Ellington: Yeti came within moments of exposing Jack Lumber and taking the championship. Instead, Bigfoot invaded the match and altered the result.
Johnny “The Mic” Michaels: Yeti and Marcus the Beastmaster created the situation when they attacked the referee and attempted to use that chain. Their own decision opened the door for Bigfoot to intervene.

Far beneath the frozen wilderness, beyond the roads leading away from North Pole Arena, the caverns claimed by Krampus burn with a low red light.
Ancient braziers have been fixed into the stone walls. Heavy chains hang between natural pillars of black rock. Meltwater falls steadily from the ceiling, striking the cavern floor with slow, hollow echoes.
At the centre of the chamber stands a broad iron table.
Several monitors have been built into the wall behind it.
The final moments of Polar Power play across the largest screen.
Jack Lumber stands between Bigfoot and Yeti, raising the Convergent Championship while the two enormous beasts stare across him at one another.
The Polar Power logo fills the screen.
The broadcast fades to black.
No one inside the cavern speaks immediately.
Krampus sits in a heavy chair carved from dark timber and reinforced with iron. Chains hang across his shoulders and chest. One clawed hand rests against the arm of the chair while the other slowly turns a broken length of chain between his fingers.
Standing beside him is his manager, Grinch Heyman.
Months have passed since Grinch Heyman was rescued from Castle Dracula, but traces of that imprisonment remain.
His clothing is immaculate again. His posture has mostly recovered its familiar confidence. His eyes are sharper, and the nervous movements that once betrayed him have become less frequent.
But when one of the smaller monitors replays the arrival of The Master of the Night, the fingers of Grinch Heyman tighten around the edge of the iron table.
He looks away before anyone can acknowledge it.
On the opposite side of the chamber stands Jack Frost.
Cold vapour drifts from his shoulders. His pale blue eyes remain fixed upon a screen displaying the announcement for next week.
KRAMPUS AND JACK FROST

ABADDON AND MARAX THE DECEIVER
Behind the established members of the Demonic Legion, another figure waits within the shadow of a stone archway.
Emberlyn Black.
She is not a demon.
There are no horns rising beneath her dark hair and no infernal fire moving beneath her skin. Her presence is quieter than the others, but no less deliberate.
Black fabric wraps closely around her athletic frame, accented by deep violet thread and small metallic symbols unfamiliar to anyone who has not crossed the borders of the lower realms. A narrow book is secured against one hip, its cover marked with symbols originating from the realm of Lilith.
Emberlyn Black spent years studying within that realm.
Its languages.
Its customs.
Its rituals.
Its weaknesses.
She steps away from the archway only when Krampus looks toward her.
Grinch Heyman: That was quite an evening to miss.
Krampus keeps his eyes on the darkened screen.
Krampus: We did not miss it.
Grinch Heyman: We were not there.
Krampus: That was the intention.
Jack Frost folds his arms.
Jack Frost: The Infernal Legion stayed away.
Krampus: As did we.
Jack Frost: You expected the arrival of The Master of the Night to become violent.
A quiet, amused rumble comes from Krampus.
He reaches toward the controls and rewinds the footage.

Then The Master of the Night steps beneath the cold security lights outside North Pole Arena.

The footage advances.

The cavern becomes quiet.
Krampus looks toward his manager.
Krampus: You spent months behind the walls of Castle Dracula.
The confidence in Grinch Heyman’s expression briefly weakens.
Krampus: You are only now becoming yourself again.
Grinch Heyman: I am perfectly capable of attending an arena.
Krampus: That was not the concern.
Grinch Heyman: Then state the concern properly.
Krampus rises from the chair.
His full height forces Grinch Heyman to look upward.
Krampus: Would standing in the same building as that presence have returned you to the cell?
Grinch Heyman does not answer immediately.
His eyes move toward the frozen image of The Master of the Night.
Grinch Heyman: No.
Krampus: You hesitated.
Grinch Heyman: I considered the question.
Krampus: You remembered.
A flash of irritation crosses the face of Grinch Heyman.
Grinch Heyman: Memory is not regression.
Krampus: No.
Krampus places one enormous hand on his manager’s shoulder.
Krampus: But war requires every soldier to understand the difference.
The tension in Grinch Heyman’s posture eases slightly.
Krampus: I need you for what is coming.
Grinch Heyman: Then stop treating me like damaged merchandise.
Krampus: Damaged things can be repaired.
A cruel smile spreads beneath the horns of Krampus.
Krampus: Fragile things must be protected until they remember how to cut.
Grinch Heyman looks toward him.
The familiar indignation is returning.
That appears to satisfy Krampus.
Grinch Heyman: There. Was that sufficiently sharp?
Krampus: Better.
Jack Frost gestures toward the monitor.
Jack Frost: What did you make of him?

The temperature inside the cavern drops sharply.

Jack Frost: Wars have a habit of turning temporary allies into permanent disappointments.
Krampus: Santa Claus is not joining the Demonic Legion.
Jack Frost: Good.
Krampus: He would refuse.
Jack Frost stares at him.
A harsh laugh escapes Grinch Heyman before he can stop it.
Jack Frost: That was not amusing.
Grinch Heyman: It was exceptionally amusing.
Jack Frost: You said you are working on recruitment.
Krampus: I am.
Jack Frost: Who?
Krampus: Someone who understands what is at stake.
Jack Frost: That does not answer the question.
Krampus: It is the only answer you require.
The frost beneath Jack Frost thickens.
Jack Frost: I am your partner.
Krampus: Which is why you must remain focused on Abaddon and Marax the Deceiver next week.
Jack Frost: You are keeping something from me.
Krampus: I am keeping you from becoming distracted.
Jack Frost: That is not the same thing.
Krampus: In war, it frequently is.
The two stare at one another.
Finally, Jack Frost looks back toward the tag team graphic.
Jack Frost: Whoever you are bringing, make certain they understand one thing.
Krampus: What is that?
Jack Frost: I will not be replaced.
Krampus: Then give me no reason to replace you.
The cold around Jack Frost surges.
Grinch Heyman takes one careful step away from both men.
Jack Frost: Next week, Marax falls.
Krampus: Next week, we win.
The distinction is not lost on Jack Frost.
He says nothing more.
Krampus turns toward Emberlyn Black.
Krampus: Prepare for your debut.
Emberlyn Black: I am prepared.
Krampus: Then prepare for what follows it.
Emberlyn Black nods once.
Jack Frost looks toward the monitors one final time.
The images of Abaddon and Marax the Deceiver remain across the screen.
Jack Frost: I will see you at the arena.
He turns and walks deeper into the cavern.
A trail of frost spreads across the stone behind him.
Grinch Heyman watches him leave.
Grinch Heyman: He does not enjoy secrets.
Krampus: He enjoys them when they belong to him.
Grinch Heyman: And the recruit?
Krampus: Not your concern.
Grinch Heyman: I am your manager. Everything that creates contractual, strategic, or catastrophic consequences is my concern.
Krampus: Not tonight.
Grinch Heyman looks toward Emberlyn Black.
Grinch Heyman: And her purpose?
Emberlyn Black: Also not your concern.
Grinch Heyman: I liked you more before you began agreeing with him.
Krampus: Rest, Heyman.
The manager looks toward the screen containing The Master of the Night.
The smallest movement passes through his expression.
Krampus: The arena will be safer next week.
Grinch Heyman: You cannot promise that.
Krampus: No.
Krampus smiles.
Krampus: But next week, the dangers will be familiar.
That provides less comfort than intended.
Grinch Heyman straightens his coat.
Grinch Heyman: I will see that both of you reach the arena properly prepared.
He begins walking toward the tunnel.
Before leaving, he glances once more toward the frozen image of Castle Dracula’s master.
Then he disappears into the darkness.
Only Krampus and Emberlyn Black remain.
For several seconds, neither speaks.
Krampus waits until the sound of Grinch Heyman’s footsteps has faded completely.
Then he touches the controls.
Every monitor goes dark except one.
The image of Velora Synn fills the screen.
She stands beside Lilith, her expression severe, her loyalty presented as absolute.
Krampus: Your debut is the performance.
Emberlyn Black: And the tag match is the work.
Krampus: Watch Lilith carefully.
Krampus: She will command.
Krampus: She will provoke.
Krampus: She will treat Velora Synn as an extension of herself.
Emberlyn Black: Velora accepts that position.
Krampus: Publicly.
Emberlyn Black: You believe there is resentment.
Krampus: I believe there is ambition.
Krampus touches the image of Velora Synn.
Krampus: Infernus Rex calls himself king.
Krampus: Lilith calls herself queen.
Krampus: And Velora Synn is expected to remain a weapon in someone else’s hand.
Emberlyn Black: You want the weapon turned.
Krampus: I want her removed from the Infernal Legion.
Emberlyn Black: Removed or recruited?
Krampus: Both.
The eyes of Emberlyn Black narrow slightly.
Emberlyn Black: She will not abandon them merely because I ask.
Krampus: You will not ask.
Krampus: You will observe.
Krampus: You will find the fracture between loyalty and ambition.
Krampus: Then you will place pressure upon it.
Emberlyn Black: And when she begins listening?
The braziers flicker around Krampus.
Krampus: You will show her what Lilith will never permit her to become.
Emberlyn Black: Equal?
Krampus: More than equal.
A slow understanding appears across the face of Emberlyn Black.
Emberlyn Black: Your consort.
Krampus: The Infernal Legion believes power belongs only to those seated upon its throne.
Krampus: I will show Velora Synn another throne.
Emberlyn Black: Does Grinch Heyman know?
Krampus: No.
Emberlyn Black: Jack Frost?
Krampus: He would react before the trap had been placed.
Emberlyn Black: And Velora?
Krampus: She will know only when she is ready to believe the decision was hers.
Emberlyn Black studies the image.
Emberlyn Black: Luring someone away from Lilith is not a simple mission.
Krampus: That is why I chose someone educated in her realm.
Emberlyn Black: Lilith will recognize my methods.
Krampus: Then do not use hers.
Emberlyn Black: She will recognize me eventually.
Krampus: By then, recognition should come too late.
The violet energy returns briefly between the fingers of Emberlyn Black.
Emberlyn Black: What if Velora Synn refuses?
Krampus: Then you will have learned where her loyalty truly resides.
Emberlyn Black: And if she accepts?
Krampus looks toward the screen.
Krampus: The balance of this war changes before Infernus Rex realizes he has lost anything.
Emberlyn Black closes the narrow book at her hip.
Emberlyn Black: I will watch her next week.
Krampus: Watch what happens when Lilith receives the attention.
Krampus: Watch what happens when Velora creates the opening.
Krampus: Watch whether gratitude follows.
Emberlyn Black: And if it does not?
Krampus: Begin there.
Emberlyn Black nods once.
She steps backward into the stone archway.
The darkness closes around her until only the violet reflection in her eyes remains.
Then that disappears as well.
Krampus is left alone before the monitors.
The image of Velora Synn fades.
The screen changes once more to The Master of the Night standing beneath the crimson lights of North Pole Arena.
Krampus begins laughing again.
Krampus: You believe you have found the weakness of Jack Mason.
The image freezes upon Jack Mason’s calm expression as he issues the invitation.
Come visit.
A sharp grin spreads beneath the horns of Krampus.
Krampus: You may discover that Mason invited you to a funeral.
The monitor goes black.
Only the braziers remain.
Then a faint scraping sound comes from a narrow passage behind the throne.
Krampus turns.
A small parcel has been pushed beneath an iron gate.
It is wrapped in weathered white cloth and bound with a black cord.
Krampus approaches and lifts it from the stone.
Inside is a carved token shaped like a horse’s skull.
A strip of pale mane has been tied around it.
Beneath the token lies a brief message written in an old hand.
THE DOOR WILL OPEN AT FALLOUT.
THE OLD SONG WILL BE HEARD AGAIN.
Krampus reads the message once.
His smile widens.
Behind the sealed gate, something strikes the stone floor with a slow, deliberate hoofbeat.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Krampus: Welcome back, Mari Lwyd.
The braziers extinguish.
The cavern falls into darkness.
The scene fades to black.
