Hammer Washington: “You chose to stop wrestling Lenore Valmont.”
Another.
Hammer Washington: “You chose to argue with someone outside the ring.”
Then—
Holly Vale: “I want a match.”

Holly Vale: “Mrs. Claus.”
A beat.
Hammer Washington: “No.”
The footage freezes on Holly's furious expression.

One final graphic.
TONIGHT
SPOTLIGHT ON… HOLLY VALE
The words remain for several seconds.
Then the Crucible signature hits.
The broadcast cuts live inside the Iron Ring Academy.
The crowd pounds against the barricades as the camera sweeps around the room before settling on Paul Redford and Dave “The Brute” Kent at the commentary desk.
Behind them, the tournament board has changed completely.
No standings.
No points.
Only a bracket.
Paul Redford: “Welcome to Iron Ring: The Crucible. We are live from the Iron Ring Academy on September 17, 2026, and after ten weeks of Quarter Three competition, there is nothing left to calculate.”

The screen changes.

The crowd reaction becomes mixed.
Footage returns to last week's aftermath.
The bottle striking the monitor.
Bridget's hand raised underneath the water.
Holly demanding Mrs. Claus.
Hammer Washington refusing.
Paul Redford: “But before the semifinals begin, there is another piece of Quarter Three that has not been settled.”
The tournament board shows the final Iron Maiden Anvil standings.
LENORE VALMONT — 7 — QUALIFIED
BRIDGET O'HARE — 5 — QUALIFIED
HOLLY VALE — 4 — ELIMINATED
The word remains beside Holly's name.

Dave Kent: “That's what Holly believes.”
A pause.
The footage changes to Holly abandoning the match with Lenore Valmont to argue with Mrs. Claus.
The referee counts.
Eight.
Nine.
Ten.
Dave Kent: “What happened is right there.”
Bell.
Dave Kent: “Nobody dragged Holly Vale out of that ring.”
A beat.
Dave Kent: “Nobody tied her to the floor.”
Another.
Dave Kent: “She made a decision.”
The screen freezes on Holly staring toward Mrs. Claus while Lenore remains inside the ring.
Dave Kent: “And the Crucible records decisions.”
A pause.
The image changes.
SPOTLIGHT ON… HOLLY VALE
Paul Redford: “Tonight, Holly Vale gets the opportunity to tell us what she believes happened.”
Dave folds his arms.
Dave Kent: “Good.”
A beat.
Dave Kent: “Then I hope she's ready to hear what everybody else saw.”
The lights inside the Academy lower slightly.
The semifinal bracket disappears.
Only one name remains on the screen.
HOLLY VALE
Then—
SPOTLIGHT ON… HOLLY VALE
Fade into the Spotlight.
“THEY FOUND SOMEONE ELSE”
The studio screen remains black after the opening.
Then a photograph appears.
Not of a wrestler.
Not of the Iron Ring Academy.
Santa’s Workshop.
Rows of wooden workbenches.
Half-finished toys.
Painted signs.
Stacks of wrapped packages.
Workers moving through the enormous production floor.
Then another photograph.
A younger Holly Vale.
No wrestling gear.
Workshop clothes.
Hair pulled back.
Standing beside one of the workstations with a small smile.
The image slowly fades.
A chair appears beneath a single warm light.
Then another.
Veronica “Vee” Vandal sits opposite Holly Vale.
No desk between them.
No audience immediately surrounding them.
Just two chairs inside one of the Academy interview rooms.
Holly is dressed casually, but there is nothing relaxed about her posture.
Arms folded.
One leg crossed over the other.
Jaw tight.
Vee studies her for several seconds before beginning.
Veronica Vandal: “Before the Iron Ring Academy…”
The old Workshop photograph appears on a monitor beside them.
Veronica Vandal: “…this was your life.”
Holly glances toward it.
Her expression softens almost imperceptibly.
Holly Vale: “Yeah.”
Veronica Vandal: “Santa’s Workshop.”
A beat.
Veronica Vandal: “How long?”
Holly Vale: “Long enough.”
Vee gives her a look.
Holly exhales.
Holly Vale: “Years.”
The photograph changes.
Workshop employees moving through the production floor.
Holly Vale: “You worked.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “You showed up.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “You did your job.”
She looks toward the photograph.
Holly Vale: “And nobody cared whether anybody knew your name.”
Vee notices the wording.
Veronica Vandal: “Did that bother you?”
Holly thinks.
Holly Vale: “Back then?”
A small shrug.
Holly Vale: “No.”
Another photograph.
Holly carrying supplies through the Workshop.
Holly Vale: “There was always something that needed doing.”
She looks at Vee.
Holly Vale: “You don't stand around waiting for applause in Santa's Workshop.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “You finish what you're supposed to finish.”
Vee nods.
Veronica Vandal: “That sounds remarkably similar to what the Academy asks from you.”
For the first time, Holly smiles.
Barely.
Holly Vale: “Maybe that's why I thought I'd be good at this.”
The screen changes.
Early footage of Holly Vale at the Iron Ring Academy.
Training drills.
Basic footwork.
Running the ropes.
Mistakes.
Corrections.
Reset.
Again.
Veronica Vandal: “When you arrived here, you were inexperienced.”
Holly Vale: “You can say bad.”
Veronica Vandal: “I could.”
A faint smile from Vee.
Veronica Vandal: “You weren't bad.”
A pause.
Veronica Vandal: “You were unfinished.”
More footage.
Holly learning.
Improving.
Competing.
Veronica Vandal: “And you have improved.”
Holly's eyes move toward her.
Vee continues.
Veronica Vandal: “Considerably.”
The Quarter Three tournament flashes across the screen.
Holly Vale earning points.
Surviving difficult matches.
Beginning to look increasingly comfortable inside the ring.
Veronica Vandal: “You entered Quarter Three as someone people weren't certain belonged in a tournament field like this.”
A beat.
Veronica Vandal: “You finished with four points.”
Another.
Veronica Vandal: “You remained alive until the final week.”
Holly nods slowly.
Holly Vale: “Exactly.”
Vee doesn't respond immediately.
That bothers Holly.
Holly Vale: “Exactly.”
Veronica Vandal: “I heard you.”
Holly Vale: “Then say it.”
Veronica Vandal: “Say what?”
Holly uncrosses her arms.
Leans forward.
Holly Vale: “That I proved everybody wrong.”
Vee studies her.
Veronica Vandal: “You proved a lot of people wrong.”
Holly sits back.
Almost satisfied.
Then—
Veronica Vandal: “But…”
Holly's eyes immediately narrow.
Holly Vale: “There it is.”
Vee remains calm.
Veronica Vandal: “There what is?”
Holly Vale: “The part where you take it back.”
Veronica Vandal: “I'm not taking anything back.”
A beat.
Veronica Vandal: “Your wrestling improved.”
Another.
Veronica Vandal: “Your attitude changed.”
Silence.
Holly looks away.
Holly Vale: “There it is.”
Veronica Vandal: “Holly—”
Holly Vale: “No.”
She looks back at Vee.
Holly Vale: “Everybody keeps saying that.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “My attitude.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “My judgment.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “My decisions.”
Her voice sharpens.
Holly Vale: “Nobody wants to talk about what actually happened.”
Vee already knows where this is going.
Veronica Vandal: “Then tell me.”
Holly doesn't hesitate.
Holly Vale: “I should be in the semifinals.”
The screen beside them changes.
Final standings.
LENORE VALMONT — 7
BRIDGET O'HARE — 5
HOLLY VALE — 4
Holly immediately points toward the screen.
Holly Vale: “Turn that off.”
Vee looks toward the monitor.
Then back at Holly.
Veronica Vandal: “Why?”
Holly Vale: “Because I'm sick of looking at it.”
The standings remain.
Veronica Vandal: “Those are the results.”
Holly's voice rises.
Holly Vale: “Those are numbers.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “They don't tell you why.”
Vee leans forward slightly.
Veronica Vandal: “All right.”
Another.
Veronica Vandal: “Why?”
Holly stares directly into her eyes.
Holly Vale: “Mrs. Claus.”
Vee's expression doesn't change.
Holly gives a bitter laugh.
Holly Vale: “There.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “You did the face.”
Veronica Vandal: “What face?”
Holly Vale: “That face everybody does when I say her name.”
A beat.
Holly Vale: “‘Poor Holly.’”
Another.
Holly Vale: “‘She's emotional.’”
Another.
Holly Vale: “‘She needs to take responsibility.’”
She leans forward.
Holly Vale: “I was taking responsibility.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “For myself.”
Vee answers immediately.
Veronica Vandal: “You left the ring.”
Holly's eyes flash.
Holly Vale: “Because she was out there.”
Veronica Vandal: “At commentary.”
Holly Vale: “Watching me.”
Veronica Vandal: “That isn't interference.”
Holly Vale: “You don't know her.”
Vee's eyebrows rise slightly.
Veronica Vandal: “I know Mrs. Claus.”
Holly Vale: “Not like I do.”
A beat.
Holly points toward the old Workshop photograph.
Holly Vale: “I worked for her.”
Silence.
Holly Vale: “I watched people like her my entire life.”
Vee waits.
Holly Vale: “Smile.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “Encourage.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “Tell everybody they're doing wonderfully.”
Her voice turns more bitter.
Holly Vale: “Until somebody younger starts becoming something.”
Vee's expression tightens.
Veronica Vandal: “That's a serious accusation.”
Holly Vale: “It's true.”
Veronica Vandal: “Based on what?”
Holly almost laughs.
Holly Vale: “Based on me.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “I finally started winning.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “People finally started noticing me.”
Footage of the Academy crowd cheering Holly earlier in the quarter.
Holly watches it.
For several seconds.
Then—
The footage changes.
Last week.
Bridget O'Hare's hand raised.
The Academy crowd erupts.
Holly's expression hardens immediately.
Holly Vale: “And look how fast they moved on.”
Vee looks toward the screen.
Holly Vale: “A few weeks ago they loved me.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “Now Bridget wins one big match…”
She gestures toward the crowd reaction.
Holly Vale: “…and suddenly she's everybody's favorite.”
Vee turns back toward Holly.
Veronica Vandal: “Bridget defeated the Iron Maiden Champion.”
Holly Vale: “I know what she did.”
Veronica Vandal: “Then don't diminish it.”
That lands badly.
Holly sits forward.
Holly Vale: “There.”
A beat.
Holly Vale: “You too.”
Veronica Vandal: “Me too what?”
Holly Vale: “You've already picked her.”
Vee's expression turns incredulous.
Veronica Vandal: “Picked her for what?”
Holly Vale: “The next one.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “The new darling.”
The words echo last week's backstage confrontation.
Holly looks toward the camera now.
Holly Vale: “That's what these people do.”
She gestures toward the Academy beyond the room.
Holly Vale: “They cheer for you until somebody shinier walks through the door.”
A beat.
Holly Vale: “Then they pretend they were never with you.”
Vee interrupts.
Veronica Vandal: “Those same people supported you for most of this tournament.”
Holly Vale: “Exactly.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “Until they didn't.”
Veronica Vandal: “Because Bridget succeeded doesn't mean they turned against you.”
Holly Vale: “Don't tell me what I saw.”
Vee's tone hardens.
Veronica Vandal: “And don't rewrite your own tournament because you're angry.”
Silence.
Holly's face changes.
Completely.
Any remaining restraint disappears.
Holly Vale: “Rewrite?”
She stands.
Vee remains seated.
Holly Vale: “Mrs. Claus came to my match.”
Veronica Vandal: “She joined commentary.”
Holly Vale: “She knew what she was doing.”
Veronica Vandal: “Did she tell you to leave the ring?”
Holly Vale: “She didn't have to.”
Veronica Vandal: “Did she stop you from going back inside?”
Holly Vale: “You're not listening.”
Vee stands now.
Veronica Vandal: “I'm listening very carefully.”
A beat.
Veronica Vandal: “I hear somebody who had an opportunity.”
Another.
Veronica Vandal: “I hear somebody who improved enough to make that opportunity matter.”
Another.
Veronica Vandal: “And I hear somebody who is so angry about losing it that she would rather blame somebody else than admit she made the wrong decision.”
Holly stares at her.
Holly Vale: “You never believed in me either.”
Vee almost takes a step backward from the accusation.
Veronica Vandal: “That's nonsense.”
Holly Vale: “Is it?”
Veronica Vandal: “Yes.”
Holly laughs.
No humor in it.
Holly Vale: “Everybody believes in Holly Vale after Holly Vale starts winning.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “Where was all that belief before?”
Vee answers.
Veronica Vandal: “You were a recruit.”
Another.
Veronica Vandal: “You had to earn it.”
Holly nods.
Slowly.
Holly Vale: “Exactly.”
Her voice gets quieter.
Holly Vale: “I had to earn everything.”
A beat.
Holly Vale: “And Mrs. Claus gets to walk into a building and everybody automatically decides she's wonderful.”
Vee shakes her head.
Veronica Vandal: “This isn't about Mrs. Claus anymore.”
Holly immediately responds.
Holly Vale: “It has always been about Mrs. Claus.”
A voice comes from outside the interview area.
Mrs. Claus: “Then perhaps you should say it to me.”
Silence.
Holly freezes.
Vee turns.
Mrs. Claus stands in the doorway.
No championship.
No entourage.
No dramatic entrance.
Just Mrs. Claus.
Holly's expression changes from surprise to anger almost immediately.
Mrs. Claus steps inside.
Mrs. Claus: “May I?”
Vee gestures toward the room.
Veronica Vandal: “Apparently we're past asking.”
Mrs. Claus gives her a small apologetic nod.
Then looks toward Holly.
Mrs. Claus: “Holly.”
Holly folds her arms.
Holly Vale: “Don't.”
Mrs. Claus stops.
Mrs. Claus: “Don't what?”
Holly Vale: “Talk to me like I'm still working for you.”
Mrs. Claus' face softens.
Mrs. Claus: “I wasn't.”
Holly Vale: “You always do that.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “That voice.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “Like you're disappointed but you're too kind to say it.”
Mrs. Claus takes that in.
Mrs. Claus: “Then I'll say this plainly.”
Holly waits.
Mrs. Claus: “I did not cost you your semifinal place.”
Holly gives a bitter laugh.
Holly Vale: “Of course.”
Mrs. Claus: “Holly—”
Holly Vale: “You came out there.”
Mrs. Claus: “Yes.”
Holly Vale: “You sat where I could see you.”
Mrs. Claus: “Yes.”
Holly Vale: “And you knew exactly what that would do.”
Mrs. Claus shakes her head.
Mrs. Claus: “No.”
Holly steps closer.
Holly Vale: “Liar.”
Vee immediately moves between the direction of the two women.
Not physically separating them.
But ready.
Mrs. Claus remains calm.
Mrs. Claus: “I went there because I wanted to watch you.”
Holly's face twists.
Holly Vale: “Judge me.”
Mrs. Claus: “Watch you.”
Holly Vale: “Same thing.”
Mrs. Claus: “No.”
A beat.
Mrs. Claus: “I was proud of you.”
Holly actually recoils.
Then laughs.
Holly Vale: “Don't.”
Mrs. Claus looks hurt.
Holly Vale: “Don't you dare.”
Mrs. Claus: “Holly—”
Holly Vale: “You don't get to say that now.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “Not after I lost.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “Not after Bridget got my spot.”
Mrs. Claus becomes firmer.
Mrs. Claus: “Bridget earned her spot.”
Holly's eyes flare.
Holly Vale: “There it is.”
Mrs. Claus: “That isn't an insult to you.”
Holly Vale: “It is when she has what should be mine.”
Mrs. Claus shakes her head.
Mrs. Claus: “No.”
Holly steps even closer.
Mrs. Claus: “That is what you need to understand.”
A beat.
Mrs. Claus: “Bridget didn't take anything from you.”
Another.
Mrs. Claus: “Neither did I.”
Holly looks furious.
Then—
A slow clap.
From the doorway.
Everyone turns.
Bella Aurelia stands there.
Smiling.
Bella Aurelia: “Beautiful.”
Vee's expression immediately darkens.
Veronica Vandal: “Bella.”
Bella raises both hands.
Bella Aurelia: “What?”
She walks into the room.
Bella Aurelia: “I'm listening.”
Her eyes move toward Mrs. Claus.
Bella Aurelia: “She's very convincing.”
A pause.
Bella Aurelia: “Almost makes you forget Holly was one win away before she showed up.”
Mrs. Claus looks toward Bella.
Mrs. Claus: “This doesn't concern you.”
Bella smiles.
Bella Aurelia: “It concerns anyone who recognizes a pattern.”
Vee steps toward her.
Veronica Vandal: “Don't.”
Bella looks amused.
Bella Aurelia: “Don't what?”
A beat.
Bella Aurelia: “Support my friend?”
Holly glances toward Bella.
That word lands.
Friend.
Bella notices.
Bella Aurelia: “She's finally seeing how this works.”
Mrs. Claus turns toward Holly.
Mrs. Claus: “Holly, listen to me.”
Bella speaks over her.
Bella Aurelia: “There.”
A pause.
Bella Aurelia: “Again.”
Mrs. Claus looks toward Bella.
Bella Aurelia: “Listen to me.”
She smiles.
Bella Aurelia: “Always listen to her.”
Another.
Bella Aurelia: “Always trust her.”
Another.
Bella Aurelia: “Always let Mrs. Claus explain why what happened to you was actually good for you.”
Holly's jaw tightens again.
Mrs. Claus sees it.
Mrs. Claus: “Bella is telling you what you want to hear.”
Holly snaps.
Holly Vale: “Maybe somebody finally is.”
Silence.
Mrs. Claus looks at her.
Holly points toward her.
Holly Vale: “You want me to take responsibility?”
Mrs. Claus says nothing.
Holly Vale: “Fine.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “I'll take responsibility for this.”
She steps forward.
Holly Vale: “I want you.”
Mrs. Claus' expression changes.
Holly Vale: “Next week.”
Vee watches carefully.
Bella smiles.
Holly Vale: “You and me.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “No commentary desk.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “No advice.”
Another.
Holly Vale: “No standing outside my ring pretending you're there to help.”
Her voice drops.
Holly Vale: “Get inside it.”
Mrs. Claus studies her.
Holly Vale: “I want a match.”
Before Mrs. Claus can answer—
Hammer Washington: “No.”
Everyone turns.
Hammer Washington stands in the doorway.
Bella's smile fades slightly.
Holly throws her hands outward.
Holly Vale: “Again?”
Hammer enters.
Hammer Washington: “Again.”
A beat.
Hammer Washington: “We already had this conversation.”
Holly Vale: “And you were wrong.”
Hammer's eyebrows rise.
Hammer Washington: “Careful.”
Holly doesn't back down.
Holly Vale: “Why?”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “Because she's main roster?”
Another.
Holly Vale: “Because I'm just a recruit?”
Hammer looks directly at her.
Hammer Washington: “Because you're asking me to reward an emotional outburst with exactly what you demanded.”
Holly shakes her head.
Holly Vale: “I'm asking you for a wrestling match.”
Hammer Washington: “You're asking me because you're angry.”
Holly Vale: “I'm allowed to be angry.”
Hammer Washington: “Absolutely.”
A beat.
Hammer Washington: “You are not entitled to whatever you want because of it.”
Bella quietly smiles again.
Holly sees her.
Then turns back to Hammer.
Holly Vale: “So that's it.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “Everybody gets opportunities except Holly Vale.”
Hammer's expression hardens.
Hammer Washington: “Don't do that.”
Holly Vale: “Do what?”
Hammer Washington: “Turn every answer you dislike into proof that somebody is against you.”
Silence.
Holly stares at him.
Then—
Mrs. Claus: “Hammer.”
He looks toward her.
Mrs. Claus: “It's all right.”
Hammer immediately shakes his head.
Hammer Washington: “Merinda—”
Mrs. Claus: “It's all right.”
She looks toward Holly.
No anger.
No condescension.
Only certainty.
Mrs. Claus: “She wants the match.”
Holly's eyes stay locked on her.
Mrs. Claus continues.
Mrs. Claus: “And perhaps talking isn't going to solve this.”
Bella's smile widens.
Hammer looks between them.
Hammer Washington: “You don't owe her this.”
Mrs. Claus answers quietly.
Mrs. Claus: “I know.”
That silences Holly for a moment.
Mrs. Claus steps toward her.
Mrs. Claus: “I'm not doing it because I owe you anything.”
A pause.
Mrs. Claus: “I'm doing it because somewhere underneath all this anger is the same young woman I remember from the Workshop.”
Holly's expression immediately hardens again.
Mrs. Claus: “And if the only way she'll listen to me is after the bell rings…”
Another step.
Mrs. Claus: “…then I'll meet her there.”
The room goes quiet.
Holly stares at her.
Mrs. Claus extends no hand.
Offers no embrace.
Just looks directly at her.
Mrs. Claus: “Next week.”
A beat.
Mrs. Claus: “You and me.”
The smallest smile appears on Holly's face.
Not gratitude.
Satisfaction.
Holly Vale: “Good.”
A pause.
Holly Vale: “Then you can finally stop talking to me like a child.”
Mrs. Claus' expression changes.
Sadder now.
But still calm.
Mrs. Claus: “Then next week…”
A beat.
Mrs. Claus: “…I'll treat you like an opponent.”
Holly nods.
Holly Vale: “That's all I ever wanted.”
Bella steps beside Holly.
Almost shoulder to shoulder.
Hammer notices immediately.
So does Vee.
Mrs. Claus looks from Holly—
to Bella.
Then back again.
Hammer Washington: “Fine.”
Everyone looks toward him.
Hammer points directly at Holly.
Hammer Washington: “But understand something.”
A pause.
Hammer Washington: “This is not a semifinal.”
Another.

Paul looks toward him.

Then Nikolas.
Paul Redford: “Nikolas Nocturne finished at five and has now eliminated the Anvil Block winner.”
Dave leans back.
Dave Kent: “This one interests me.”
Paul Redford: “Why?”
Dave Kent: “Because Owen has spent the entire quarter learning to recognize the right moment.”
A pause.
Nikolas waits before snapping Kryst into the final DDT.
Dave Kent: “Nikolas has spent the entire quarter creating the wrong moment for the other man.”
Another.
Dave Kent: “That's an excellent final.”
Both championship finals remain on the screen.

SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH
HOLLY VALE vs MRS. CLAUS
The crowd reacts loudly.
Paul Redford: “And Quarter Three will not be the only issue decided next week.”
Dave looks toward the graphic.
Paul Redford: “Despite Hammer Washington initially refusing the match for the second time, Mrs. Claus accepted Holly Vale's challenge herself.”
The image shows Bella Aurelia positioned behind Holly.
Dave notices.
Dave Kent: “I don't like how Holly got here.”
A pause.
Dave Kent: “I don't like who keeps standing beside her while she gets here.”
Bella's faint smile fills the screen.
Dave Kent: “But Mrs. Claus made the decision.”
Another.
Dave Kent: “So now Holly gets exactly what she says she wants.”
The graphic remains.
HOLLY VALE vs MRS. CLAUS
Dave Kent: “No semifinal spot.”
A beat.
Dave Kent: “No standings.”

Dave Kent: “No excuse.”
The screen fades to black.
Paul looks toward a new sheet of paper on the desk.
Paul Redford: “And there is one more match.”
Dave turns toward him.
The Academy crowd begins murmuring as the screen remains blank.
Paul Redford: “Earlier today, Hammer Washington informed us that next week's Crucible will also include a special evaluation that has never happened here before.”
One symbol appears on the left side of the screen.
The Iron Ring Academy insignia.
Then—
On the right—
The mark of the False Light Forge.
The crowd reaction changes immediately.
Dave sits forward.
Paul Redford: “The Iron Ring Academy and the False Light Forge.”
A beat.
Paul Redford: “Two developmental systems.”

Paul Redford: “Two very different philosophies.”
The screen changes.

No names appear.
Paul Redford: “Next week, one member of the False Light Forge will enter this building.”
A pause.
Paul Redford: “And one Iron Ring Academy recruit will meet them in this ring.”
Dave keeps staring at the empty spaces where the names should be.
Dave Kent: “Who?”
Paul shakes his head.
Paul Redford: “We have not been told.”
Dave looks toward him.
Dave Kent: “Either side?”
Paul Redford: “Either side.”
That gets Dave's attention.
The graphic remains deliberately incomplete.
FALSE LIGHT FORGE — ???
vs
IRON RING ACADEMY — ???
Dave slowly nods.
Dave Kent: “Good.”
Paul almost laughs.
Paul Redford: “You're comfortable with that?”
Dave Kent: “No.”
A beat.
Dave Kent: “That's why it's good.”
He points toward the Forge logo.
Dave Kent: “We spend every week evaluating people inside this system.”
Then toward the Academy insignia.
Dave Kent: “Same coaches.”
Another.
Dave Kent: “Same building.”
Another.
Dave Kent: “Same expectations.”
He looks between the two symbols.
Dave Kent: “Put somebody from another system across the ring.”
A pause.

The full card begins assembling on the screen.

Another.
Paul Redford: “Owen Starling and Nikolas Nocturne determine the Iron General tournament winner.”
Another.
Paul Redford: “Holly Vale finally gets the match she has demanded against Mrs. Claus.”
Then the final graphic.
Two silhouettes.
One bearing the Forge insignia.
One bearing the Academy insignia.
Paul Redford: “And for the first time, the Crucible opens its doors to the False Light Forge.”
The crowd pounds against the barricades.
Dave looks toward the ring.
Dave Kent: “Tonight was about getting to the final.”
A pause.
Dave Kent: “Next week?”
The Iron Maiden finalists appear.
Corvina Ash.
Lenore Valmont.
Then the men.
Owen Starling.
Nikolas Nocturne.
Then—
Holly Vale.
Mrs. Claus.
Finally—
Two unidentified silhouettes.
Dave studies all of them.
Dave Kent: “Next week we find out what all this development actually produced.”
The camera begins slowly pulling away.
The Academy ring sits beneath the hard white lights.
Above it—
QUARTER THREE FINALS — NEXT WEEK
Then underneath—
IRON RING ACADEMY vs FALSE LIGHT FORGE
Paul Redford: “Every match is evidence.”
The camera pulls farther back.
Paul Redford: “Every weakness is recorded.”
Dave keeps his eyes on the ring.

Airing September 17, 2026 — Following Crucible Episode 033
Part One takes place September 12, 2026 — One day before Northern Belles Episode 041
The Nutcracker Legion Compound — False Light Forge Wrestling School
SEPTEMBER 12, 2026
The False Light Forge is already winding down for the evening.
Two of the three rings have gone quiet. Several recruits are finishing conditioning work along the far wall while Nutcracker personnel collect pads, straighten equipment and reset the floor for the following morning.
The centre ring is different.
Sugar Plum Fairy stands inside it with her hands planted firmly on her hips.
Across from her stands Elodie Marchand.
Elodie is attentive.
Perfect posture.
Controlled breathing.
Not a strand of hair out of place.
Sugar Plum slowly circles her.
SUGAR PLUM FAIRY:
“Tomorrow isn't a wrestling match.”
Elodie watches her.
ELODIE MARCHAND:
“It is twenty wrestlers attempting to eliminate one another under an established ruleset.”
Sugar Plum stops.
SUGAR PLUM:
“That's exactly the answer I was afraid you were going to give me.”
Elodie's eyebrow rises slightly.
ELODIE:
“The rules are established.”
SUGAR PLUM:
“The rules are.”
She gestures around the ring.
SUGAR PLUM:
“The people aren't.”
Elodie considers this.
SUGAR PLUM:
“You like patterns.”
ELODIE:
“Patterns make people predictable.”
SUGAR PLUM:
“In a normal match.”
Elodie waits.
Sugar Plum walks toward her.
SUGAR PLUM:
“You know where your opponent is. You know where the referee is. You know who's legal. You know where the danger is coming from.”
She points toward Elodie.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Tomorrow, you know none of those things.”
ELODIE:
“There will still be behavioral patterns.”
SUGAR PLUM:
“Of course there will.”
Sugar Plum smiles.
SUGAR PLUM:
“You'll have nineteen of them.”
A pause.
SUGAR PLUM:
“At the same time.”
That finally earns a small reaction.
Elodie's eyes narrow.
Sugar Plum sees it.
SUGAR PLUM:
“There.”
ELODIE:
“What?”
SUGAR PLUM:
“You don't like that.”
ELODIE:
“I don't like unnecessary variables.”
Sugar Plum laughs.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Then you're going to hate Battle Royals.”
Sugar Plum moves toward the ropes.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Tell me your plan.”
Elodie answers immediately.
ELODIE:
“Remain away from the ropes during the opening congestion. Identify the strongest alliances. Allow aggressive competitors to exhaust themselves. Target compromised balance whenever an opponent approaches the perimeter.”
Sugar Plum stares at her.
ELODIE:
“What?”
SUGAR PLUM:
“How long have you been thinking about this?”
ELODIE:
“Since we received the invitation.”
Sugar Plum almost smiles.
SUGAR PLUM:
“And what happens when somebody grabs you from behind while another woman is kicking you in the ribs and a third one falls into your knees because someone else threw her?”
Elodie pauses.
ELODIE:
“I adapt.”
SUGAR PLUM:
“Good.”
She steps closer.
SUGAR PLUM:
“That's tomorrow's lesson.”
Elodie looks around the empty ring.
ELODIE:
“I thought this was tomorrow's lesson.”
SUGAR PLUM:
“No.”
Sugar Plum smiles.
SUGAR PLUM:
“This is me trying to convince you there won't be a lesson.”
A voice comes from ringside.
MATEO VARGA:
“She'll be fine.”
Sugar Plum looks toward the apron.
Mateo Varga is leaning against it.
Relaxed.
Arms folded.
Far too pleased with himself for someone who wasn't invited into the conversation.
Elodie glances toward him.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Did anybody ask you?”
Mateo smiles.
MATEO:
“People rarely need to.”
Elodie's expression remains unchanged.
MATEO:
“It's one of my gifts.”
ELODIE:
“I had assumed the inability to recognize when your presence is unnecessary was a defect.”
Mateo's smile broadens.
MATEO:
“See?”
He looks toward Sugar Plum.
MATEO:
“She's ready.”
Sugar Plum points toward the training floor.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Since you're so interested, find Clara.”
Mateo raises an eyebrow.
MATEO:
“Why?”
SUGAR PLUM:
“Because Elodie needs somebody unpredictable.”
Mateo looks toward Elodie.
MATEO:
“I could volunteer.”
Elodie looks him over once.
Head to toe.
Clinical.
ELODIE:
“No.”
Mateo puts a hand over his heart.
MATEO:
“You didn't even consider it.”
ELODIE:
“I did.”
A beat.
ELODIE:
“That was why the answer came quickly.”
Sugar Plum turns away before Mateo can see her smile.
THE TEST
Several minutes later, Clara Cobweb climbs through the ropes.
She rolls her shoulders.
Elodie stands across from her.
Sugar Plum remains inside the ring.
At ringside, Mateo has not left.
Neither has Billy Pearl, who has wandered over after noticing the activity.
Billy leans against the barricade beside Mateo.
BILLY PEARL:
“What's this?”
MATEO:
“Apparently we're discovering whether Paris can survive chaos.”
Billy looks toward Elodie.
BILLY:
“She's from Lyon.”
Mateo pauses.
MATEO:
“I knew that.”
Billy gives him a look.
MATEO:
“Eventually.”
Inside the ring, Sugar Plum addresses both women.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Five minutes.”
Clara nods.
Elodie does too.
SUGAR PLUM:
“No pins.”
Elodie tilts her head.
SUGAR PLUM:
“No submissions.”
Clara looks interested now.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Elodie, your job is to control her.”
ELODIE:
“For five minutes?”
SUGAR PLUM:
“No.”
Sugar Plum steps back.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Whenever you're ready.”
She signals.
Clara explodes forward.
The first minute belongs almost entirely to Clara.
She circles rapidly.
Changes direction.
Cuts underneath Elodie's reach.
Arm drag.
Escape.
Cartwheel.
Elodie turns—
Clara is already somewhere else.
A quick dropkick catches Elodie in the shoulder.
Elodie steps backward.
Clara grins.
CLARA COBWEB:
“You're thinking too much.”
Elodie says nothing.
Clara attacks again.
Another quick exchange.
Elodie blocks one arm drag but Clara slips free.
At ringside, Mateo chuckles.
MATEO:
“She doesn't look thrilled.”
Billy doesn't take his eyes from Elodie.
BILLY:
“She's not supposed to.”
The second minute looks much the same.
Clara accelerates whenever Elodie closes distance.
Elodie reaches.
Clara withdraws.
Elodie steps left.
Clara circles right.
But something has changed.
Elodie is no longer trying to catch her.
She's watching her.
Clara bounces off the ropes.
Elodie doesn't pursue.
Clara feints another cartwheel.
Elodie's eyes drop toward Clara's feet.
Clara changes direction again.
Elodie watches the hips.
Billy leans forward slightly.
BILLY:
“There.”
Mateo looks at him.
MATEO:
“What?”
Billy doesn't answer.
During the third minute, Clara tries the same direction change.
This time Elodie is waiting.
One step.
Not two.
Clara turns—
Elodie blocks the path.
Clara immediately reverses direction.
Elodie is already moving.
Clara stops.
For the first time—
so does Elodie.
They're face-to-face.
Elodie's expression hasn't changed.
Clara's has.
CLARA:
“Oh.”
Elodie catches the wrist.
Twists.
Steps behind.
Clara rolls through.
Elodie releases before the escape even begins.
Clara gets back to her feet.
Elodie is already standing exactly where Clara wants to go.
At ringside, Billy nods.
BILLY:
“She's got her.”
MATEO:
“Already?”
BILLY:
“About thirty seconds ago.”
The fourth minute is entirely different.
Clara tries another burst toward the ropes.
Elodie intercepts.
Clara attempts the cartwheel escape.
Elodie catches the waist.
Clara reverses.
Elodie uses the momentum and sends her across the ring.
Clara rebounds.
Elodie moves one step sideways.
Clara reaches automatically for the turn—
Elodie hooks the arm and plants her with a sharp takedown.
Not flashy.
Not violent.
Efficient.
Clara scrambles up quickly.
Elodie gives her no opening.
A wrist.
An elbow.
A shoulder.
Every movement Clara uses to escape simply provides Elodie the next point of control.
Sugar Plum watches closely.
Clara finally manages to create space.
She breathes heavily.
Elodie doesn't.
CLARA:
“You memorized me.”
ELODIE:
“No.”
Elodie adjusts one wrist.
ELODIE:
“You repeat yourself.”
Clara's eyes narrow.
She charges.
The fifth minute lasts considerably less than sixty seconds.
Clara feints right.
Elodie doesn't react.
Clara goes left.
Elodie steps directly into her path.
Clara tries to pivot.
Elodie catches her around the waist.
Redirects her.
Hooks one leg behind Clara's.
Clara hits the canvas.
Before Clara can scramble away, Elodie controls one wrist, pins the opposite shoulder with her forearm and traps Clara's legs beneath her own.
Clara struggles.
Nothing.
Sugar Plum watches for several seconds.
Then raises her hand.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Enough.”
Elodie releases immediately.
Clara sits up.
Breathing hard.
Elodie offers her hand.
Clara takes it.
Elodie pulls her up.
ELODIE:
“Your left shoulder drops before you change direction.”
Clara stares.
ELODIE:
“You also look toward the rope you intend to use.”
A pause.
ELODIE:
“And when frustrated, you return to whatever worked most recently.”
Clara folds her arms.
CLARA:
“Anything else?”
Elodie considers it.
ELODIE:
“Yes.”
Clara waits.
ELODIE:
“You are significantly more difficult when you stop trying to prove you are difficult.”
Clara's expression slowly changes.
She isn't certain whether she's been complimented or insulted.
Sugar Plum is.
SUGAR PLUM:
“That was a compliment.”
Elodie looks toward her.
ELODIE:
“Obviously.”
At ringside, Mateo applauds slowly.
Elodie turns toward him.
MATEO:
“Beautiful.”
Elodie's eyes narrow slightly.
Mateo climbs onto the apron but doesn't enter.
MATEO:
“Cold. Precise. Ruthless.”
He smiles.
MATEO:
“I like it.”
Elodie walks toward the ropes.
ELODIE:
“You like yourself.”
Mateo grins.
MATEO:
“Very much.”
ELODIE:
“Yes.”
She studies him.
ELODIE:
“I noticed.”
Billy covers a laugh with one hand.
Mateo points toward Elodie.
MATEO:
“You know, Glass Thorn, one day you're going to say something nice to me.”
ELODIE:
“Possible.”
Mateo brightens.
Elodie continues.
ELODIE:
“Human behavior is capable of extraordinary anomalies.”
Billy loses the battle and laughs.
Mateo looks at him.
MATEO:
“She likes me.”
BILLY:
“I'm pretty sure she just classified you as a statistical error.”
Elodie steps through the ropes.
ELODIE:
“An unusually persistent one.”
She walks past Mateo.
Mateo turns and watches her leave.
Still smiling.
Sugar Plum climbs down beside Billy.
SUGAR PLUM:
“He's going to keep doing that, isn't he?”
BILLY:
“Absolutely.”
Sugar Plum looks toward Elodie.
SUGAR PLUM:
“She understands one opponent.”
Billy nods.
BILLY:
“Tomorrow she gets nineteen.”
Sugar Plum sighs.
SUGAR PLUM:
“That's what worries me.”
Billy watches Elodie disappear into the corridor.
BILLY:
“Anika walks into a room and everybody knows she's dangerous.”
Sugar Plum looks at him.
Billy gestures after Elodie.
BILLY:
“That one doesn't need them to know.”
A beat.
BILLY:
“She only needs enough time to learn why they are.”
Sugar Plum smiles faintly.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Let's hope a Battle Royal gives her enough.”
FADE OUT.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2026
THE GENERAL'S OFFICE
Five days later.
The atmosphere is considerably less relaxed.
Around the General's conference table sit Nutcracker General, Nutcracker Captain, Colt Maddox, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Billy Pearl.
Two Northern Belles Battle Royals have now taken place.
The first featured Anika Stahl and Clara Cobweb.
The second featured Sugar Plum Fairy and Elodie Marchand.
Folders from both appearances are spread across the table.
The General stands at the head.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Assessment.”
Captain answers first.
NUTCRACKER CAPTAIN:
“Acceptable.”
Billy looks toward him.
BILLY:
“Glowing.”
Captain ignores him.
CAPTAIN:
“None embarrassed the Forge.”
Sugar Plum leans back.
SUGAR PLUM:
“That's a very low standard.”
CAPTAIN:
“It is the minimum standard.”
SUGAR PLUM:
“And?”
Captain looks down at his notes.
CAPTAIN:
“Clara remained too willing to engage when disengagement would have served her better.”
Sugar Plum nods reluctantly.
CAPTAIN:
“Anika followed instructions.”
The General says nothing.
They all know what that means.
Anika had competed.
But she had not shown everything.
Billy folds his arms.
BILLY:
“She hated every second of that.”
The General looks toward him.
BILLY:
“You told a woman built to run through walls that the strategic decision was to leave one standing.”
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“And she obeyed.”
BILLY:
“That's my point.”
The General considers that.
Captain moves to the next file.
CAPTAIN:
“Battle Royal Two.”
Sugar Plum speaks before he can.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Elodie learned.”
The General turns toward her.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Not fast enough at first.”
She taps the folder.
SUGAR PLUM:
“But she adjusted.”
Billy nods.
BILLY:
“She tried to solve the whole match.”
Colt leans forward.
COLT MADDOX:
“Can't solve nineteen people.”
BILLY:
“No.”
A faint smile.
BILLY:
“But give her another six months and I wouldn't bet against her trying.”
Sugar Plum looks toward her own evaluation.
SUGAR PLUM:
“We were okay.”
The General's expression tells them he dislikes the word.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Not great.”
A beat.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Not bad.”
She looks directly at him.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Okay.”
The General slowly nods.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“I agree.”
No excuses.
No inflated praise.
The Forge has entered NPCW competition.
The results have demonstrated potential.
They have also demonstrated distance still to travel.
Billy looks across the remaining schedule.
BILLY:
“Rhea's next.”
Sugar Plum nods.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Battle Royal Three.”
Captain looks toward the final sheet.
CAPTAIN:
“And both Quinn and Stahl remain scheduled for Battle Royal Four.”
The General places both palms against the table.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Then the priority changes.”
Colt looks toward him.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Anika and Rhea receive additional Battle Royal training.”
Sugar Plum nods.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Different problems.”
COLT:
“Anika's easy.”
Billy raises an eyebrow.
COLT:
“Not easy to train.”
A pause.
COLT:
“Easy to identify.”
He points toward Anika's file.
COLT:
“She relies on strength because strength usually works.”
Captain agrees.
CAPTAIN:
“She must become comfortable when strength cannot immediately create space.”
Sugar Plum looks toward Rhea's file.
SUGAR PLUM:
“And Rhea's problem is Rhea.”
Billy chuckles.
BILLY:
“Very technical diagnosis.”
SUGAR PLUM:
“She sees an insult and forgets there's a match happening.”
COLT:
“She can be baited.”
CAPTAIN:
“Easily.”
Billy shakes his head.
BILLY:
“Less easily than she could a month ago.”
They look toward him.
BILLY:
“But yeah.”
A pause.
BILLY:
“Still easily.”
The General pulls both files toward him.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Then correct it.”
Sugar Plum nods.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“When Battle Royal Four begins, I do not want Anika fighting the match she wants.”
He taps her file.
Then Rhea's.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“And I do not want Quinn fighting whoever annoys her first.”
Billy smiles faintly.
BILLY:
“That's going to be harder.”
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“That is why you are coaches.”
The General closes both folders.
But he does not dismiss them.
Instead, he reaches into another stack on the desk and removes an envelope.
The emblem on the front belongs to the Iron Ring Academy.
That immediately changes the mood.
Colt's expression tightens.
COLT:
“What's that?”
The General opens it.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Hammer Washington has extended an invitation.”
Captain straightens.
Sugar Plum becomes interested.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“He wishes to arrange a match.”
Billy's eyebrows rise.
BILLY:
“With us?”
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“One male representative from the False Light Forge.”
He places the letter on the table.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Against one representative from the Iron Ring Academy.”
For several seconds nobody speaks.
Then Colt smiles.
Not warmly.
COLT:
“Well.”
He leans back.
COLT:
“That's interesting.”
WHO REPRESENTS THE FORGE?
Captain is first.
NUTCRACKER CAPTAIN:
“Dominik.”
Colt immediately nods.
COLT:
“My choice too.”
Billy doesn't.
BILLY:
“Maybe.”
The General looks toward him.
BILLY:
“I'd send Thruk.”
Sugar Plum turns.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Thruk?”
BILLY:
“If Hammer wants to see what we're building, let him spend ten minutes trying to figure out how to prepare somebody for that lunatic.”
Captain's expression hardens.
CAPTAIN:
“Thruk remains inconsistent.”
BILLY:
“He also hurts people.”
CAPTAIN:
“That is not the same as readiness.”
BILLY:
“Never said it was.”
Colt looks through the male recruit folders.
COLT:
“Stellan.”
The General glances toward him.
COLT:
“Big enough to make an impression. Experienced enough not to freeze.”
Sugar Plum considers it.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Mateo.”
That earns several looks.
SUGAR PLUM:
“What?”
Billy smiles.
BILLY:
“You want to reward him for annoying Elodie?”
SUGAR PLUM:
“I'd send him somewhere much less pleasant for that.”
Colt laughs.
Sugar Plum continues.
SUGAR PLUM:
“Mateo can wrestle.”
She looks toward the General.
SUGAR PLUM:
“And unlike Thruk or Dominik, he'll understand immediately that he's also performing for an audience.”
Billy nods.
BILLY:
“Fair.”
Captain remains unmoved.
CAPTAIN:
“Dominik is the strongest representative.”
The discussion begins to overlap.
COLT:
“Dominik tells them we're serious.”
BILLY:
“Thruk tells them we're dangerous.”
SUGAR PLUM:
“Mateo tells them we're polished.”
CAPTAIN:
“Stellan tells them nothing the others do not.”
Colt points toward him.
COLT:
“Stellan tells them we can fight.”
BILLY:
“They already know that.”
The General has said nothing.
He lets them argue.
Then—
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“CHAT XYZ.”
Silence.
Complete silence.
Billy slowly looks toward him.
BILLY:
“CHAT?”
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Yes.”
Captain's brow furrows.
CAPTAIN:
“Why?”
The General walks toward the reinforced window overlooking the Forge.
Down below, several recruits are still moving through evening drills.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Hammer Washington did not send us an invitation out of friendship.”
Nobody disagrees.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“He wants information.”
The General turns.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“He wants to measure us.”
He gestures toward the files.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“If I send Dominik, we show him Dominik.”
Another.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“If I send Thruk, we show him Thruk.”
Another.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Stellan. Mateo.”
He shakes his head.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Every one of those choices reveals something I have no interest in revealing yet.”
Billy begins to understand.
BILLY:
“And CHAT doesn't.”
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Correct.”
Captain remains skeptical.
CAPTAIN:
“He trains here.”
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“He does.”
A pause.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“But is he Forge?”
Nobody answers.
Because they all know.
Not really.
Colt leans back slowly.
COLT:
“He still wants out.”
The General nods.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“He never intended to come here.”
Billy's expression becomes more serious.
CHAT XYZ and HAL arrived at the Forge because of contracts they had believed would take them elsewhere.
HAL adapted quickly.
CHAT never truly did.
SUGAR PLUM:
“You're sending him because he's expendable?”
The General turns toward her.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“No.”
His voice is firm.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“I am sending him because the opportunity may serve both purposes.”
Sugar Plum waits.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“If CHAT performs well, the Forge gains representation without exposing one of the wrestlers central to our plans.”
He pauses.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“And Hammer Washington sees him.”
Billy understands the second part immediately.
BILLY:
“You think the Academy might want him.”
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Perhaps.”
Colt rubs his jaw.
COLT:
“And if they do…”
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Then there may finally be a sensible discussion regarding his contract.”
That changes the room.
This isn't punishment.
It isn't quite generosity either.
It is strategy.
But for CHAT XYZ—
it could become an exit.
Billy studies the General.
BILLY:
“You already decided this before you called us in here.”
The General looks at him.
A faint smile.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“I wanted to hear whether any of you had a better idea.”
Billy laughs.
BILLY:
“And?”
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“You did not.”
Captain looks toward the letter.
CAPTAIN:
“When do we tell CHAT?”
The General picks it up.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Tomorrow.”
Billy rises.
BILLY:
“I'll tell him.”
The General looks toward him.
BILLY:
“Better he hears the whole thing.”
A pause.
BILLY:
“Not just that we're shipping him off to fight somebody.”
The General gives a small nod.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Agreed.”
Sugar Plum gathers her Battle Royal files.
SUGAR PLUM:
“And Rhea and Anika?”
The General turns back toward the table.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Tomorrow morning.”
He picks up their files.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Double sessions.”
Billy winces.
BILLY:
“Rhea's going to love that.”
Sugar Plum smiles.
SUGAR PLUM:
“I'll tell her you suggested it.”
Billy points at her.
BILLY:
“You absolutely will not.”
Colt laughs.
Captain looks entirely serious.
CAPTAIN:
“She will complain regardless.”
Billy sighs.
BILLY:
“Now you're learning.”
The others begin filing from the office.
Billy is the last one to reach the door.
He stops.
Looks back.
BILLY:
“General.”
The General raises his eyes.
BILLY:
“If CHAT does well…”
A pause.
BILLY:
“And Hammer wants him…”
The General waits.
BILLY:
“You'll actually let him go?”
The General looks through the window at the Forge below.
For several seconds he says nothing.
Then—
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“The Forge exists to create wrestlers who belong here.”
He turns toward Billy.
NUTCRACKER GENERAL:
“Not prisoners who do not.”
Billy studies him.
Then nods.
BILLY:
“Good.”
He leaves.
The General remains alone.
On the table before him are two sets of papers.
One bears the names:
ANIKA STAHL.
RHEA QUINN.
The other—
CHAT XYZ.
Two women being prepared to show the world more of what the False Light Forge can become.
And one man who may be about to receive his first real chance to leave it.
The General closes the folders.
FADE TO BLACK.
