SHOW RUNDOWN

PART 1 SHOW RUNDOWN SHOW OPENING CROWD SHOT AND WELCOMING MATCH 1 KC Rogers: Beyond the Bell - Polly Mason MATCH 2 MATCH 3 THE HOUSE OF NIGHT MATCH 4 PART 2 MATCH 5 THE GUIDING LIGHT AND THE APOCALYPSE MAIN EVENT CLOSING

SHOW OPENING

(Black screen. A low arctic wind rolls in. Ice groans beneath unseen pressure. A faint heartbeat joins the wind, slower this time. Heavier.)

Northern Lights suddenly tear across the darkness as the first heavy drumbeat lands.

VOICE-OVER:
“From the top of the world…”

Snow lashes across the screen.

“…where the cold decides who survives.”

The POLAR POWER logo begins forming through frost and fractured steel.

VOICE-OVER:
“This… is POLAR POWER.”

The music surges.

A rapid-fire signature montage begins.

Santa Claus absorbs a crushing shot, stays upright, and answers by driving his opponent violently into the canvas.

Flames burst through the snow as Infernus Rex emerges from the smoke and crushes an opponent beneath overwhelming power.

A backstage door swings open. Jack Mason marches through before the image snaps to him turning an opponent inside out with a vicious lariat.

Crimson flashes across the screen as Ruby Howl, Scarlet Howl, and Crimson Vane stand together. Rapid cuts show each member of the Sisters of the Hood striking with ruthless precision.

Polly Mason fights back from underneath, slips a charging opponent, and fires back with a sudden counter that brings the North Pole Arena to its feet.

Blue-white fog fills the screen.

Grondar the Revenant emerges through it with the North Pole Championship, drags an opponent upward, and drives them brutally into the canvas.

Snow explodes as Yeti charges through an opponent like an avalanche, then throws his head back with a monstrous roar.

Wilber “Terrorfang” Townsend attacks in a blur of strikes, takedowns, and mauling pressure before crouching beside his fallen opponent with the Northern Lights Championship in his grasp.

The drums stop.

One final wide shot of the packed North Pole Arena.

Frost-blue spotlights sweep across the crowd.

VOICE-OVER:
“No shortcuts.”

The POLAR POWER logo slams onto the screen.

Ice cracks outward.

VOICE-OVER:
“Only the fight.”

“Only the North.”

POLAR POWER.”

CROWD SHOT AND WELCOMING

The live broadcast does not immediately return to the arena bowl.

Instead, the camera cuts to the secured wrestler entrance at the rear of North Pole Arena.

A heavy exterior door opens.

A familiar figure steps through.

Polly Mason.

The reaction from inside the arena can already be heard through the walls.

But this is not the same Polly Mason who walked into Halifax four nights ago.

Wrapped securely around her waist is the Queen of the North Championship.

The gold plate catches the overhead lights as Polly Mason pauses just inside the entrance.

For a moment, she simply looks down at it.

Then a wide smile spreads across her face.

She adjusts the championship around her waist and starts walking.

Her gear bag hangs over one shoulder.

Her other hand remains casually across the faceplate of the title.

The camera follows her into the backstage corridor.

On the production screen inside the arena, footage flashes briefly from Tuesday night in Halifax.

Lilith trapped in the Infernal Embrace.

Polly Mason fighting her way free.

The sudden Final Crescendo.

One.

Two.

Three.

Then Polly Mason being handed the Queen of the North Championship after surviving everything Lilith and Count Vlad threw at her.

The replay disappears.

Back live, Polly Mason continues down the corridor.

She rounds the first corner.

And stops.

Standing directly ahead of her is Crimson Vane.

The former champion looks first at Polly Mason.

Then at the championship.

There is no hostility in her expression.

Not yet.

Crimson Vane: “Congratulations.”

Polly Mason raises an eyebrow.

Polly Mason: “Thank you.”

Crimson Vane steps closer.

Her eyes remain on the championship.

Crimson Vane: “I mean that.”

A beat.

Crimson Vane: “You survived Lilith.”

Another.

Crimson Vane: “You survived Count Vlad.”

Her eyes lift toward Polly Mason.

Crimson Vane: “And you finished the job.”

Polly Mason: “There a ‘but’ coming?”

A faint smile appears on Crimson Vane.

Crimson Vane: “There usually is.”

She gestures toward the championship.

Crimson Vane: “I held that title.”

Her expression hardens slightly.

Crimson Vane: “And I still believe I was denied the one-on-one conclusion I deserved.”

That immediately recalls the argument from last week, when Crimson Vane insisted she had been cost the championship by Count Vlad and demanded another opportunity.

Crimson Vane: “So enjoy tonight.”

A pause.

Crimson Vane: “Celebrate it.”

Another.

Crimson Vane: “You earned that.”

She steps closer.

Crimson Vane: “But I want you one-on-one.”

The smile disappears.

Crimson Vane: “No ladder.”

Crimson Vane: “No third woman.”

Crimson Vane: “No excuses.”

She looks directly at the championship again.

Crimson Vane: “Just you.”

Crimson Vane: “Me.”

A beat.

Crimson Vane: “And that title.”

Polly Mason studies her for a moment.

Then glances down at the championship.

Polly Mason: “Get the match.”

She looks back up.

Polly Mason: “Then come take your shot.”

For the first time, Crimson Vane smiles properly.

Crimson Vane: “Good answer.”

She steps aside.

Polly Mason continues.

The camera follows.

She makes it perhaps twenty feet farther before another figure moves away from the wall.

Moonshadow.

The Wolf Mistress stands alone.

Arms folded.

Eyes fixed on the championship.

Last week, Moonshadow was furious that Crimson Vane had been allowed to potentially force her way into the Queen of the North championship equation after Moonshadow had already earned her opportunity outright.

Tonight, there is no anger.

There is something more calculating.

Moonshadow: “Well.”

She tilts her head.

Moonshadow: “That changed quickly.”

Polly Mason: “You too?”

A faint smile appears on Moonshadow.

Moonshadow: “Different problem.”

Her eyes move slowly from Polly Mason’s face to the championship.

Moonshadow: “I spent a long time hunting Lilith.”

A pause.

Moonshadow: “Then Crimson Vane kept stepping into the territory.”

She takes one slow step forward.

Moonshadow: “Now the territory moved.”

Polly Mason says nothing.

Moonshadow looks at the championship again.

Then smiles.

Moonshadow: “Looks like I have new prey.”

The crowd inside the arena reacts loudly.

Polly Mason does not flinch.

She taps the championship once.

Polly Mason: “Careful.”

A beat.

Polly Mason: “Some prey bites back.”

The smile on Moonshadow’s face widens.

Moonshadow: “Good.”

She moves aside.

Moonshadow: “Running prey is boring.”

The two women hold eye contact for another moment.

Then Polly Mason continues.

She adjusts the title around her waist again.

The corridor opens toward the larger dressing-room hallway.

Two women are already standing there.

Emberlyn Black.

Velora Synn.

Hellfrost.

Neither says anything.

Polly Mason slows.

Emberlyn Black stares directly at the championship.

Velora Synn does the same.

Their expressions are not respectful.

Not congratulatory.

Hungry.

Polly Mason: “You two going to say something?”

Nothing.

Emberlyn Black slowly looks from the championship to Polly Mason’s face.

Then back down again.

Velora Synn smiles.

Barely.

Polly Mason: “Right.”

She shifts the gear bag higher over her shoulder.

Polly Mason: “That kind of conversation.”

Emberlyn Black finally speaks.

Quietly.

Emberlyn Black: “Pretty.”

Velora Synn: “Very.”

A beat.

Polly Mason: “The belt?”

Emberlyn Black: “For now.”

The crowd reacts.

Polly Mason gives both women a long look.

Then walks directly between them.

Neither moves to stop her.

But both turn as she passes.

Their eyes remain fixed on the Queen of the North Championship.

The camera stays with Polly Mason.

She keeps walking.

A few seconds later, the sound of a cane tapping lightly against the concrete floor can be heard.

Polly Mason stops again.

Dr. Violetta Voss stands near an intersecting hallway.

Perfectly composed.

Smiling.

Polly Mason’s expression changes immediately.

The history between them does not need explanation.

At Fallout, the two fought until the referee’s count reached ten, with Polly Mason unable to answer it. Last week, Coach Cal Mercer openly reminded Polly Mason that the defeat remained unfinished business.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “Congratulations.”

Polly Mason: “You're the second person tonight who said that like it hurt.”

Dr. Violetta Voss smiles wider.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “Not at all.”

Her eyes drift toward the championship.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “I think it suits you.”

A pause.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “Temporarily.”

Polly Mason’s smile disappears.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “You see, Polly…”

She steps closer.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “You may have defeated Lilith.”

Another step.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “But you have not defeated me.”

The hallway grows quieter.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “In fact…”

She smiles.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “I beat you once.”

A pause.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “So I can beat you again.”

Polly Mason stares at her.

Then places one hand deliberately across the faceplate of the championship.

Polly Mason: “Try.”

Nothing else.

Polly Mason walks past her.

Dr. Violetta Voss turns and watches.

Still smiling.

The camera follows the champion toward the dressing-room area.

The hallway ahead finally appears clear.

Polly Mason exhales.

Polly Mason: “Everybody suddenly wants to talk.”

She takes three more steps.

Then stops.

Someone is standing directly in front of the Misfits dressing-room door.

Lilith.

The former Queen of the North Champion.

No Count Vlad beside her.

No championship around her waist.

Just Lilith.

The atmosphere changes immediately.

The crowd reaction inside the arena grows louder.

Polly Mason slowly lowers the gear bag from her shoulder.

Neither woman speaks at first.

Lilith’s eyes remain fixed on the championship she lost four nights ago.

Polly Mason does not attempt to hide it.

Finally—

Lilith: “Comfortable?”

Polly Mason: “Getting there.”

Lilith gives a short, humorless laugh.

Lilith: “Don't.”

A pause.

Lilith: “Don't get too comfortable with my title.”

The smile disappears from Polly Mason’s face.

Polly Mason: “Your title?”

Lilith: “You heard me.”

Polly Mason steps forward.

They are now only a few feet apart.

Polly Mason: “I remember Tuesday pretty clearly.”

A beat.

Polly Mason: “You threw everything you had at me.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “Your submissions.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “Your kicks.”

Her eyes narrow.

Polly Mason: “And Count Vlad.”

The crowd reacts strongly.

Polly Mason: “Twice.”

She taps the championship.

Polly Mason: “And this still came home with me.”

At the Super House Show, Count Vlad repeatedly interfered against Polly Mason, including striking her with the Transylvania Spike, but Polly Mason survived and ultimately pinned Lilith with the Final Crescendo to win the championship.

Lilith’s expression hardens.

Lilith: “You had one night.”

Polly Mason: “I only needed one.”

The crowd roars.

For several seconds, neither woman moves.

Then Lilith leans slightly closer.

Lilith: “Enjoy being hunted.”

She steps away from the dressing-room door.

Lilith: “Because now you understand what comes with wearing it.”

Polly Mason watches her.

Lilith: “Everyone wants you.”

A pause.

Lilith: “And eventually…”

Her eyes settle on the championship one final time.

Lilith: “…I take it back.”

Lilith walks away.

Polly Mason remains in place.

She watches the former champion disappear down the corridor.

Then looks down at the Queen of the North Championship.

The camera moves closer.

Polly Mason gives the gold plate a small pat.

Polly Mason: “Busy week.”

She opens the dressing-room door.

Then pauses.

Looks back down the hallway where each challenger appeared.

A small smile returns.

Polly Mason: “Good.”

She steps inside.

The door closes.

The broadcast finally cuts live into the arena bowl.

Frost-blue spotlights sweep across a packed North Pole Arena.

The crowd is already buzzing from what they just witnessed.

The camera moves down toward the commentary desk.

Johnny Michaels sits beside Eddie Ellington.

Both are already wearing their headsets.

Johnny Michaels: “Welcome live to Polar Power from North Pole Arena. I am Johnny ‘The Mic’ Michaels, alongside Eddie Ellington, and four nights ago in Halifax, the entire landscape of the Queen of the North Championship changed.”

A replay appears on the production screen.

Polly Mason escapes the Infernal Embrace.

Final Crescendo.

One. Two. Three.

The championship is placed into her hands.

Johnny Michaels: “After everything Lilith threw at her, after repeated interference from Count Vlad, Polly Mason hit the Final Crescendo and became the new Queen of the North Champion.”

Eddie Ellington: “And apparently winning a championship also comes with complimentary hallway congestion.”

Johnny Michaels: “We just watched Crimson Vane, Moonshadow, Emberlyn Black, Velora Synn, Dr. Violetta Voss, and finally former champion Lilith all make their interest very clear.”

Eddie Ellington: “That is the problem with becoming champion, Johnny. Before Tuesday, everybody wanted to beat Polly Mason because she was a Misfit.”

A beat.

Eddie Ellington: “Now everybody wants to beat her because she's carrying gold.”

Johnny Michaels: “And some of those issues existed long before Tuesday. Crimson Vane was already demanding a one-on-one opportunity. Moonshadow had already made it clear that she considers the Queen of the North Championship her territory. And Dr. Violetta Voss still owns a victory over Polly Mason.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which means the champion has enemies, challengers, former champions, wolves, doctors, and whatever exactly Hellfrost was doing with those eyes.”

Johnny Michaels: “Watching.”

Eddie Ellington: “Hungrily.”

Johnny Michaels: “And the Queen of the North Championship was not the only major development Tuesday night.”

The production screen changes.

Santa Claus.

Infernus Rex.

The final moments of their main event begin playing.

Santa Claus catches Infernus Rex with the Jingle Bell Buster.

A two-count.

Then Count Vlad begins antagonizing Santa Claus from ringside.

The distraction.

Infernus Rex hooks him.

Northern Lights suplex.

Bridge.

One. Two. Three.

The crowd boos heavily.

Johnny Michaels: “In the main event, Santa Claus suffered a major defeat against Infernus Rex. After an exhausting fight, another distraction from Count Vlad created the opening, and Infernus Rex pinned Santa with the Northern Lights suplex.”

Eddie Ellington: “Pinned him.”

Johnny Michaels: “Yes.”

Eddie Ellington: “That part deserves emphasis.”

Johnny Michaels: “I just emphasized it.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then emphasize it again. For weeks we heard that Santa Claus represented everything the Infernal Legion could not conquer.”

A pause.

Eddie Ellington: “Tuesday night, Infernus Rex put his shoulders on the mat for three.”

Johnny Michaels: “With Count Vlad once again inserting himself into the match.”

Eddie Ellington: “Managing.”

Johnny Michaels: “Distracting.”

Eddie Ellington: “Strategically communicating.”

Johnny Michaels: “From ringside.”

Eddie Ellington: “Where managers generally stand.”

Johnny Michaels: “However you choose to describe it, the result stands. Infernus Rex defeated Santa Claus, and that is one of the most significant victories the Infernal Legion has scored.”

The replay freezes on Infernus Rex standing over the fallen Santa Claus.

Johnny Michaels: “So we arrive tonight with a new Queen of the North Champion already surrounded by challengers…”

The screen changes back to Polly Mason wearing the title.

Johnny Michaels: “…and with Santa Claus forced to respond to one of the most difficult losses he has suffered in recent memory.”

Eddie Ellington: “I recommend he respond carefully. Infernus Rex might ask for a sequel.”

Johnny Michaels: “And after what we just saw backstage, I suspect Polly Mason may need to start taking appointments.”

Eddie Ellington: “Appointments?”

A small smile.

Eddie Ellington: “She needs a waiting room.”

The camera pulls back from the commentary desk as the crowd continues roaring.

Johnny Michaels: “A championship picture transformed, the Infernal Legion celebrating a massive victory, and an entire night of Polar Power still ahead of us.”

He looks toward the ring.

Johnny Michaels: “The North has changed considerably in four days.”

Eddie Ellington: “Good.”

Johnny Michaels: “Good?”

Eddie Ellington: “Change creates opportunity.”

A beat.

Eddie Ellington: “And apparently a very crowded hallway.”

Johnny Michaels: “We are live from North Pole Arena.”

The camera swings toward the entrance stage.

Johnny Michaels: “And Polar Power continues now.”

MATCH 1

The broadcast returns live to North Pole Arena.

The camera settles on the ring, where “Honest” Abe checks the ropes before exchanging a brief word with the timekeeper.

At ringside, Johnny “The Mic” Michaels looks toward the entrance stage.

Beside him, Eddie Ellington already appears unusually invested in what is about to happen.

Johnny Michaels: “We are ready for our opening contest, and this one brings together two men connected directly to the increasingly volatile situation surrounding Bigfoot, Yeti, and the Universal Tag Team Champions.”

Eddie Ellington: “You can simplify that considerably. Marcus the Beastmaster is about to demonstrate that managing monsters does not mean he has forgotten how to fight.”

Johnny Michaels: “You are firmly behind Marcus tonight.”

Eddie Ellington: “Firmly? I am intelligently behind Marcus. There is a difference.”

Johnny Michaels: “Across from him will be Bigfoot, accompanied by the new manager of the Misfits of Mayhem, Coach Cal Mercer.”

Eddie Ellington: “A coach does not make Bigfoot less hairy.”

Johnny Michaels: “I don't believe that is the objective.”

A low animalistic roar rolls through the arena.

The lighting turns deep forest green and icy blue.

Heavy percussion begins beneath the sound of cracking timber.

The crowd rises.

Coach Cal Mercer steps through the curtain first.

He wears the same dark track jacket seen last week, whistle tucked beneath the collar.

He stops at the top of the ramp and turns.

Then Bigfoot emerges.

The reaction becomes enormous.

The massive Alpha Beast steps into the light, shoulders rolling, eyes fixed directly on the ring.

There is none of the distracted anger that has followed him through recent weeks.

Coach Cal Mercer says something quietly.

Bigfoot gives a single nod.

Johnny Michaels: “There is something important already. Last week, Coach Cal Mercer told Bigfoot that the time would come to answer Yeti, but that he needed discipline first.”

Eddie Ellington: “Yes, and now the coach has apparently decided discipline means sending him directly toward the man who manages the Ultimate Beasts.”

Johnny Michaels:Marcus the Beastmaster has hardly been an innocent observer.”

Eddie Ellington: “Managerial excellence is frequently misunderstood by people without ambition.”

Bigfoot begins walking down the aisle.

He does not acknowledge the fans.

He does not look toward the commentary desk.

His eyes remain fixed on the ring.

Coach Cal Mercer walks beside him.

At the bottom of the aisle, Bigfoot reaches the apron, grabs the top rope with both hands and pulls himself upward.

He steps over the ropes.

The crowd roars as he walks to the center of the ring and throws his head backward.

A deep growl echoes throughout the arena.

Coach Cal Mercer remains on the floor.

Johnny Michaels: “Focused. Controlled. Exactly what Coach Cal Mercer said he wanted from Bigfoot.”

Eddie Ellington: “Controlled until somebody mentions Yeti.”

The music fades.

A deep beast-like snarl cuts through the building.

The lighting drops.

Red and black illumination begins pulsing across the entrance stage.

Heavy drums strike.

The crowd immediately boos.

Then Marcus the Beastmaster steps through the curtain.

Alone.

No Varak.

No Karnyx.

No championships.

Just Marcus.

He wears his usual battle gear rather than managerial attire.

He stops at the center of the stage and looks toward Bigfoot.

A slow smile appears.

Eddie Ellington: “There he is.”

Johnny Michaels: “You sound proud.”

Eddie Ellington: “Look at him. People forget Marcus the Beastmaster is not merely the man standing behind the Ultimate Beasts. He can fight.”

Johnny Michaels: “No question about that. And tonight he appears determined to prove it personally.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. He spends every week directing Varak and Karnyx, studying opponents, identifying weaknesses. Now he gets to apply all of that himself.”

Johnny Michaels: “Against one of the strongest wrestlers in the Polar Division.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which makes the victory more impressive.”

Johnny Michaels: “You have already awarded it?”

Eddie Ellington: “Efficiency.”

Marcus the Beastmaster starts toward the ring.

He never takes his eyes from Bigfoot.

The boos continue.

As he reaches ringside, Marcus pauses beside Coach Cal Mercer.

The two managers stare at one another.

Coach Cal Mercer says nothing.

Marcus the Beastmaster gives him a dismissive smile.

Then climbs onto the apron.

Bigfoot immediately steps toward him.

“Honest” Abe moves between them before Marcus enters.

Marcus the Beastmaster steps through the ropes.

The two massive men meet near the center.

Neither backs away.

Johnny Michaels: “There is not much room between them.”

Eddie Ellington: “Good. Less distance for Marcus to travel.”

Celeste Orion enters with microphone in hand.

Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following singles contest is scheduled for one fall with a thirty-minute time limit!”

The crowd cheers.

Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by COACH CAL MERCER... representing the MISFITS OF MAYHEM... BIGFOOT!”

Bigfoot raises one massive fist.

The arena responds loudly.

Coach Cal Mercer gives one approving nod from ringside.

Celeste Orion turns toward the opposite corner.

Celeste Orion: “And his opponent... the BEASTMASTER... MARCUS THE BEASTMASTER!”

The crowd boos.

Marcus the Beastmaster spreads his arms and smiles.

Eddie Ellington: “That is your winner.”

Johnny Michaels: “The bell has still not rung.”

Eddie Ellington: “I remain ahead of schedule.”

Celeste Orion exits.

“Honest” Abe gives both men their final instructions.

He then turns toward Coach Cal Mercer and reminds him to remain on the floor.

Coach Cal Mercer simply nods.

The referee signals.

The bell rings.

Minute 1

Neither man wastes time.

Bigfoot and Marcus the Beastmaster collide near the center.

Neither gains immediate control.

They separate.

Then Bigfoot steps back inside, hooks Marcus around the waist and powers him over.

SIDE SUPLEX!

The ring shakes.

Marcus the Beastmaster rolls through the landing and gets up quickly.

As Bigfoot approaches, Marcus explodes forward.

HEADBUTT!

The strike catches Bigfoot across the forehead.

Both men stagger.

Neither falls.

Johnny Michaels: “A Side Suplex from Bigfoot, and Marcus the Beastmaster answers immediately with that Headbutt. We are going to see a tremendous amount of force exchanged in this match.”

Eddie Ellington: “And notice Marcus did not panic after being thrown. He got up and used the hardest part of his body.”

Johnny Michaels: “You mean his head.”

Eddie Ellington: “I was referring to strategic intelligence.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is not located in the forehead.”

Eddie Ellington: “Depends who you're sitting beside.”

Minute 2

Bigfoot advances.

Marcus the Beastmaster catches him around the throat.

The crowd rises.

Bigfoot tries to pry the hand away.

Marcus gets underneath him.

CHOKESLAM!

Bigfoot crashes hard into the canvas.

Marcus the Beastmaster remains standing over him.

Johnny Michaels: “Chokeslam! Marcus the Beastmaster just lifted Bigfoot and drove him into the mat.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly why I picked him.”

Johnny Michaels: “That required extraordinary strength.”

Eddie Ellington: “Everybody looks at the Ultimate Beasts and forgets who controls them. You do not command men like Varak and Karnyx by asking politely.”

Johnny Michaels: “And Bigfoot has been given an immediate reminder that Marcus possesses plenty of power himself.”

Minute 3

Bigfoot rises.

He catches Marcus the Beastmaster before another attack can develop.

VERTICAL SUPLEX!

The crowd cheers as Marcus is thrown hard across the canvas.

He gets to one knee.

Bigfoot approaches.

Marcus suddenly rises and brings both hands down.

DOUBLE AXHANDLE!

The strike lands across Bigfoot’s upper back.

Johnny Michaels: “Vertical Suplex from Bigfoot, answered by the Double Axhandle. Neither man is allowing the other sustained control.”

Eddie Ellington: “But I prefer Marcus’s approach.”

Johnny Michaels: “Because?”

Eddie Ellington: “He is making Bigfoot work every time he wants to lift him. Keep forcing the giant to expend energy.”

Johnny Michaels: “That Vertical Suplex still landed cleanly.”

Eddie Ellington: “One move does not create a strategy.”

Minute 4

Bigfoot grabs Marcus the Beastmaster before he can circle away.

He muscles him upward.

The crowd rises.

ALPHA DOMINION!

The Jackknife Power Bomb drives Marcus violently into the canvas.

The ring shakes.

But Marcus the Beastmaster rolls onto one side.

Bigfoot reaches for him.

Marcus catches the arm.

He twists underneath and drives Bigfoot down across the shoulder.

SHOULDERBREAKER!

Both men fall away from one another.

Johnny Michaels: “Alpha Dominion! Bigfoot plants Marcus with the Jackknife Power Bomb, but somehow Marcus immediately finds the Shoulderbreaker.”

Eddie Ellington: “That is toughness.”

Johnny Michaels: “That Power Bomb was enormous.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Marcus answered.”

Johnny Michaels: “He is certainly proving your point that he belongs in the ring.”

Eddie Ellington: “My points are generally improved by evidence.”

Minute 5

Bigfoot tries to rise.

Marcus the Beastmaster reaches him first.

He catches the enormous Alpha Beast around the torso.

POWERSLAM!

Bigfoot crashes down.

Marcus immediately gets back to his feet.

Johnny Michaels: “Powerslam from Marcus the Beastmaster, and that is another impressive display of strength.”

Eddie Ellington: “I keep telling you. The man does not manage beasts because he enjoys petting zoos.”

Johnny Michaels: “Nobody suggested that.”

Eddie Ellington: “The audience needed clarification.”

Johnny Michaels:Bigfoot has absorbed two major power attacks in the last few minutes.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Marcus is beginning to prove that this does not have to become a battle of endurance.”

Minute 6

Marcus the Beastmaster closes again.

Bigfoot tries to catch him.

Marcus slips underneath the reach.

He secures the arm.

SHOULDERBREAKER!

Again Bigfoot’s shoulder is driven down.

This time Marcus immediately hooks the leg.

“Honest” Abe drops.

One!

Two!

Bigfoot powers out.

The crowd cheers.

Marcus the Beastmaster sits up and looks toward the referee.

Eddie Ellington: “That was three.”

Johnny Michaels: “It was absolutely two.”

Eddie Ellington: “His hand was moving toward the canvas.”

Johnny Michaels: “That does not make it three.”

Eddie Ellington: “Very technical interpretation.”

Johnny Michaels:Bigfoot kicked out, but the repeated Shoulderbreakers are beginning to matter.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. Keep attacking the same structure. Eventually the building collapses.”

Minute 7

Bigfoot gets upright.

Marcus the Beastmaster steps toward him.

Bigfoot catches him first.

VERTICAL SUPLEX!

Marcus is launched overhead.

He lands hard and rolls toward the ropes.

Johnny Michaels: “Another Vertical Suplex from Bigfoot. Every time Marcus begins establishing control, Bigfoot finds a way to throw him.”

Eddie Ellington: “Fine.”

Johnny Michaels: “Fine?”

Eddie Ellington: “Let the giant use energy. Marcus knows how to survive.”

Johnny Michaels: “That sounded like you found a way to turn being thrown across the ring into a positive.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's why I'm an expert.”

Minute 8

Both men rise.

Bigfoot moves first.

BODyslam!

Marcus the Beastmaster hits hard.

But he gets up and catches Bigfoot during the next advance.

SIDE SUPLEX!

This time Bigfoot is thrown.

Both men remain down briefly.

The crowd applauds the exchange.

Johnny Michaels: “Bodyslam from Bigfoot, Side Suplex from Marcus. This has become exactly the physical struggle we expected.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Marcus is matching him.”

Johnny Michaels: “Move for move in many of these exchanges.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which should concern Bigfoot. He came into this match with the reputation as the larger natural beast.”

Johnny Michaels: “And Marcus is demonstrating that reputation does not decide the result.”

Eddie Ellington: “You see? Now you're improving.”

Minute 9

Bigfoot gets to one knee.

Marcus the Beastmaster is already waiting.

He hooks Bigfoot around the body.

He spins.

ALPHA SLAM!

The Spinning Sidewalk Slam drives Bigfoot hard into the canvas.

The crowd reacts sharply.

Marcus covers immediately.

One!

Two!

Bigfoot kicks out.

Marcus the Beastmaster pounds one fist against the canvas.

Johnny Michaels: “Alpha Slam! That was the closest Marcus the Beastmaster has come to finishing this.”

Eddie Ellington: “That was three.”

Johnny Michaels: “Again, two.”

Eddie Ellington: “This referee is becoming increasingly stubborn.”

Johnny Michaels:Bigfoot survived the Spinning Sidewalk Slam, but that was a very deep cover.”

Eddie Ellington: “And now Marcus knows he has the right weapon.”

Minute 10

Marcus the Beastmaster reaches for Bigfoot again.

This time Bigfoot catches him first.

He gets around the waist.

SIDE SUPLEX!

Marcus is driven hard into the canvas.

Bigfoot rolls to one knee.

Coach Cal Mercer shouts from ringside.

Johnny Michaels: “Big response from Bigfoot. The Side Suplex buys him time after that Alpha Slam.”

Eddie Ellington: “He needed it.”

Johnny Michaels: “And Coach Cal Mercer is trying to keep him focused.”

Eddie Ellington: “Perhaps he should explain that Marcus has already nearly pinned him twice.”

Johnny Michaels: “I suspect Bigfoot is aware.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then he should look more concerned.”

Minute 11

Coach Cal Mercer moves closer to the apron.

He does not interfere.

He points toward Marcus the Beastmaster’s left side and calls something toward Bigfoot.

Bigfoot changes his stance immediately.

Marcus comes forward with another DOUBLE AXHANDLE.

The strike lands.

But Bigfoot absorbs it better this time and steps toward the angle Coach Cal Mercer identified.

Johnny Michaels: “That is exactly what Coach Cal Mercer talked about last week. He sees something and Bigfoot actually listens.”

Eddie Ellington: “You sound surprised.”

Johnny Michaels: “Considering the raw emotion surrounding Yeti, discipline has been a concern.”

Eddie Ellington: “And while the coach is pointing, Marcus is still hitting him.”

Johnny Michaels: “The Double Axhandle landed, but Bigfoot is beginning to adjust his positioning.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then Marcus will adjust again.”

Minute 12

Bigfoot comes forward.

KNEE LIFT!

The strike catches Marcus the Beastmaster in the midsection.

Marcus folds slightly.

But as Bigfoot reaches for him, Marcus slips around the body.

ALPHA SLAM!

Another Spinning Sidewalk Slam!

Bigfoot crashes hard.

Marcus does not cover this time.

He immediately rises.

Johnny Michaels: “Second Alpha Slam! Bigfoot got the Knee Lift, but Marcus the Beastmaster turned the follow-up into another major impact.”

Eddie Ellington: “That is why he did not cover.”

Johnny Michaels: “You approve?”

Eddie Ellington: “Completely. He has already learned that one Alpha Slam may not be enough. Do more damage first.”

Johnny Michaels: “That can also become dangerous. Passing on a cover gives Bigfoot time.”

Eddie Ellington: “Only if he survives long enough to use it.”

Minute 13

Bigfoot gets upright.

Marcus the Beastmaster charges.

BIG BOOT!

Bigfoot’s boot catches Marcus squarely across the chest.

Marcus staggers backward.

But he comes forward again.

DOUBLE AXHANDLE!

The strike crashes across Bigfoot’s shoulder.

Both men remain standing.

The crowd rises.

Johnny Michaels: “Big Boot answered by the Double Axhandle! Neither man wants to give ground.”

Eddie Ellington: “And I like the fact that Marcus keeps attacking that shoulder.”

Johnny Michaels: “The same shoulder he has already driven down twice.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. You don't become distracted by the boot to the chest. Stick to the plan.”

Johnny Michaels:Bigfoot is also beginning to create more space with those heavy strikes.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then Marcus needs to close it.”

Minute 14

Bigfoot catches Marcus the Beastmaster coming forward.

He powers him upward.

ALPHA DOMINION!

A second Jackknife Power Bomb!

Marcus is driven violently into the canvas.

The crowd erupts.

Bigfoot reaches down.

But Marcus snatches the arm again.

SHOULDERBREAKER!

The damaged shoulder is driven down for a third time.

Both men collapse.

Johnny Michaels: “Alpha Dominion again! And somehow Marcus the Beastmaster answers with another Shoulderbreaker.”

Eddie Ellington: “That may be the exchange that wins this match.”

Johnny Michaels: “After taking the Jackknife Power Bomb?”

Eddie Ellington: “Yes. Because Bigfoot keeps lifting him with a shoulder that Marcus keeps attacking.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is an excellent tactical point.”

Eddie Ellington: “I have several.”

Johnny Michaels: “Please enjoy the moment.”

Minute 15

Both men struggle upright.

Bigfoot reaches first.

Marcus the Beastmaster steps directly into him.

HEADBUTT!

The strike catches Bigfoot cleanly.

The Alpha Beast stumbles backward.

He tries to cover up but cannot fully avoid the impact.

Marcus advances.

Johnny Michaels: “Headbutt from Marcus the Beastmaster, and Bigfoot could not defend himself in time.”

Eddie Ellington: “Now finish him.”

Johnny Michaels: “You are openly coaching.”

Eddie Ellington: “Somebody has to.”

Johnny Michaels:Marcus has been extremely competitive for fifteen minutes. Two near falls, repeated Shoulderbreakers, two Alpha Slams.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which is why I am telling him to finish it.”

Johnny Michaels: “The question is whether he has done enough damage.”

Minute 16

Marcus the Beastmaster comes forward.

He reaches for Bigfoot’s shoulder.

This time Bigfoot sees it.

He catches Marcus around the body.

Marcus tries to widen his base.

Bigfoot powers through.

BODyslam!

Marcus the Beastmaster crashes flat onto the canvas.

Bigfoot immediately drops across him.

“Honest” Abe slides into position.

One!

Eddie Ellington: “Kick out.”

Two!

Eddie Ellington: “MARCUS!”

Three!

The bell rings.

The crowd erupts.

Eddie Ellington: “NO!”

Johnny Michaels: “He got him! Bigfoot has pinned Marcus the Beastmaster!”

Eddie Ellington: “With a Bodyslam?!”

Johnny Michaels: “After sixteen punishing minutes, yes!”

Eddie Ellington: “After everything Marcus did in this match? Two Alpha Slams! Three Shoulderbreakers! Two near falls!”

Johnny Michaels: “And Bigfoot survived all of it.”

Eddie Ellington: “I reject the ending.”

Johnny Michaels: “You cannot reject a three-count.”

Eddie Ellington: “Watch me.”

Celeste Orion raises the microphone.

Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winner by pinfall... BIGFOOT!”

The crowd roars.

Coach Cal Mercer climbs onto the apron.

Bigfoot rises.

“Honest” Abe raises his arm.

Johnny Michaels: “That may be exactly the kind of victory Coach Cal Mercer wanted. Bigfoot stayed composed, survived two extremely dangerous near falls and eventually caught Marcus cleanly.”

Eddie Ellington: “Caught him? That sounds accidental.”

Johnny Michaels: “It was a Bodyslam into a legal pin.”

Eddie Ellington: “A deeply unfortunate legal pin.”

BIGFOOT DEFEATS MARCUS THE BEASTMASTER VIA PINFALL WITH A BODYSLAM AT THE 16:00 MINUTE MARK.

Bigfoot turns toward Coach Cal Mercer.

The coach gives him a firm nod.

Then the crowd suddenly changes.

Boos erupt from the side of the arena.

Johnny Michaels: “Wait a minute.”

Eddie Ellington: “There we go.”

Yeti storms through the crowd-side entrance.

At the same time, Varak and Karnyx explode through the main entrance aisle.

The Universal Tag Team Champions are already moving at full speed.

Coach Cal Mercer sees them first.

Coach Cal Mercer: “BIGFOOT!”

Bigfoot turns.

Too late.

Yeti slides beneath the bottom rope and crashes directly into him.

The crowd erupts.

Johnny Michaels:YETI! YETI IS IN THE RING!

Eddie Ellington: “I knew this evening could still improve.”

Yeti drives Bigfoot backward with a series of brutal forearms.

Then Varak and Karnyx enter from the opposite side.

Three-on-one.

Varak crushes Bigfoot with a Running Big Boot.

Karnyx follows with a wild Haymaker.

Yeti tackles Bigfoot to the canvas.

All three begin stomping him.

Coach Cal Mercer climbs onto the apron.

Marcus the Beastmaster, still recovering near the ropes, sees the attack.

A smile spreads across his face.

Johnny Michaels: “This was planned! Yeti and the Ultimate Beasts are mauling Bigfoot!”

Eddie Ellington: “Planned is such an ugly word.”

Johnny Michaels: “They arrived from two different directions!”

Eddie Ellington: “Excellent coordination.”

Coach Cal Mercer reaches through the ropes, shouting for Bigfoot to cover up.

Yeti grabs the Alpha Beast by the head.

He roars directly into his face.

Then another figure charges through the curtain.

Jack Mason.

Behind him—

Negropolis.

The crowd erupts.

Johnny Michaels: “HERE COME THE MISFITS!”

Jack Mason slides into the ring.

He goes directly for Karnyx.

Negropolis steps over the ropes and collides with Varak.

The entire ring explodes into chaos.

Jack Mason unloads punches on Karnyx and drives him toward the corner.

Negropolis and Varak exchange enormous forearms in the center.

Bigfoot gets back to one knee.

He sees Yeti.

The two Alpha Beasts charge.

They collide.

The sound echoes throughout the arena.

Johnny Michaels:Bigfoot and Yeti are tearing into each other!”

Eddie Ellington: “And this is exactly why Coach Cal Mercer told him to wait.”

Johnny Michaels:Yeti came to him!”

Eddie Ellington: “Details.”

Bigfoot and Yeti spill against the ropes, trading clubbing shots.

Marcus the Beastmaster rolls beneath the bottom rope.

He reaches the floor.

Instead of leaving, he begins shouting instructions toward the Ultimate Beasts.

Eddie Ellington: “There! Even after sixteen minutes, Marcus is still managing.”

Johnny Michaels: “He is directing an ambush!”

Eddie Ellington: “Leadership does not clock out after a defeat.”

Jack Mason catches Karnyx with a hard clothesline.

Negropolis drives Varak backward with a thrust kick.

For a moment, the Misfits begin turning the fight.

Then more bodies pour from the backstage area.

Referees.

Security.

Road agents.

Several wrestlers.

They flood the ring from both sides.

Johnny Michaels: “Here comes everybody! This has completely broken down!”

Eddie Ellington: “They're ruining it.”

Johnny Michaels: “They are trying to prevent somebody from getting seriously injured!”

Three officials grab Jack Mason.

Two more try to contain Karnyx.

Negropolis and Varak are separated only after several people wedge themselves between them.

But across the ring—

Bigfoot and Yeti refuse to stop.

They break through the first group trying to separate them.

The crowd roars.

Bigfoot swings.

Yeti swings.

Both connect.

Security swarms them again.

Coach Cal Mercer enters the ring now.

He pushes through the officials until he reaches Bigfoot.

Coach Cal Mercer: “ENOUGH!”

Bigfoot keeps staring at Yeti.

Across the ring, Yeti snarls back.

Four men restrain him.

Coach Cal Mercer grabs Bigfoot by the forearm.

Coach Cal Mercer: “Not like this.”

Bigfoot breathes heavily.

His fists remain clenched.

Coach Cal Mercer: “Not on their terms.”

That finally reaches him.

Bigfoot stops pulling against security.

But his eyes never leave Yeti.

Across the ring, Marcus the Beastmaster has moved beside Varak and Karnyx.

He looks through the bodies separating everyone.

Then toward Bigfoot.

A satisfied smile appears.

Johnny Michaels: “Look at Marcus the Beastmaster.”

Eddie Ellington: “A strategist appreciating his work.”

Johnny Michaels:Bigfoot defeated him cleanly, and within seconds Yeti, Varak, and Karnyx attempted to destroy the winner.”

Eddie Ellington: “Attempted? Bigfoot is standing.”

Johnny Michaels: “Because Jack Mason and Negropolis came to his aid.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then perhaps he should send them thank-you cards.”

Johnny Michaels: “And this situation between Bigfoot and Yeti has just reached another level.”

The camera alternates between the two sides.

On one side—

Bigfoot.

Jack Mason.

Negropolis.

Coach Cal Mercer.

On the other—

Yeti.

Varak.

Karnyx.

Marcus the Beastmaster.

Officials and wrestlers packed between them.

Nobody leaves.

Nobody looks away.

Johnny Michaels:Coach Cal Mercer wanted discipline.”

A pause.

Johnny Michaels: “Tonight, Bigfoot gave him sixteen minutes of it.”

Another.

Johnny Michaels: “And then the war came looking for him.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which proves Marcus the Beastmaster understands something the Misfits apparently do not.”

Johnny Michaels: “What's that?”

Eddie Ellington: “Beasts hunt in packs.”

The camera holds on Bigfoot and Yeti glaring through the wall of security as the broadcast cuts away.

KC Rogers: Beyond the Bell - Polly Mason

The broadcast does not return immediately to the arena.

Instead, the picture fades into a specially prepared interview room backstage at North Pole Arena.

This is not the standard Polar Power interview position.

The lighting is softer.

Deep navy curtains frame the rear of the set, illuminated from below by low bands of icy blue light. A large silver NPCW crest hangs at the center, but there are no flashing graphics and no production monitors competing for attention.

Two dark upholstered chairs sit angled slightly toward one another rather than directly toward the cameras.

Between them is a low glass table.

Resting prominently upon it is the Queen of the North Championship.

The championship is not being worn.

It sits between the two women almost like a third participant in the conversation.

In one chair is Polly Mason.

She is dressed casually rather than in wrestling gear.

No Coach Cal Mercer.

No Jack Mason.

No Misfits.

Just Polly Mason and the championship she won four nights ago.

Across from her sits a familiar face from Northern Belles.

KC Rogers.

The longtime Northern Belles broadcaster holds a microphone loosely in one hand, but there is none of the conventional stand-up interview presentation.

Her posture is relaxed.

Her expression is thoughtful.

KC Rogers has handled some of the most uncomfortable conversations surrounding Polly Mason and Dr. Violetta Voss, and her established approach is direct without becoming sensational. She asks the precise question, gives the answer room to breathe, and presses when language becomes evasive.

The camera slowly tightens.

KC Rogers: “Four nights.”

Polly Mason looks toward the championship.

A small smile appears.

KC Rogers: “Has it felt like four days?”

Polly Mason: “About four minutes.”

A faint laugh.

Then she looks back at the title.

Polly Mason: “And about four years.”

KC Rogers smiles slightly.

KC Rogers: “That sounds contradictory.”

Polly Mason: “Welcome to my life.”

The humor settles.

KC Rogers glances toward the championship.

KC Rogers: “Tuesday night in Halifax, you defeated Lilith and became Queen of the North Champion.”

A pause.

KC Rogers: “When the referee counted three, what was the first thing you thought?”

Polly Mason considers it.

Longer than expected.

Polly Mason: “Nothing.”

KC Rogers waits.

Polly Mason: “That's probably not the dramatic answer.”

KC Rogers: “It doesn't need to be.”

Polly Mason: “There really wasn't anything.”

She looks down at her hands.

Polly Mason: “I heard the crowd.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “I saw Coach Cal Mercer.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “I knew Lilith wasn't moving.”

She looks toward the championship.

Polly Mason: “Then somebody handed me that.”

A quiet smile.

Polly Mason: “And for maybe five seconds, my brain finally stopped.”

KC Rogers: “Is that unusual?”

Polly Mason: “Extremely.”

That gets a small laugh from both women.

Then KC Rogers’ expression becomes more serious.

KC Rogers: “Because your mind has been part of your story for a very long time.”

The smile fades from Polly Mason.

Not defensively.

Thoughtfully.

KC Rogers: “Long before this championship.”

A pause.

KC Rogers: “Long before Northern Belles.”

Another.

KC Rogers: “There was a period in HCW when people knew a very different Polly Mason.”

Polly Mason nods.

KC Rogers: “Psychotic.”

The word hangs there.

KC Rogers does not dramatize it.

She simply says it.

KC Rogers: “And when you came into NPCW last year, parts of that woman were still very visible.”

Polly Mason: “Very.”

KC Rogers: “When you look at her now, who do you see?”

Another long pause.

Polly Mason: “Me.”

KC Rogers studies her.

Polly Mason: “That's probably the most important answer I can give you.”

She shifts slightly in the chair.

Polly Mason: “For a long time, everybody wanted that period divided neatly.”

One hand moves slightly through the air.

Polly Mason: “There was bad Polly.”

Another motion.

Polly Mason: “Then something happened.”

A third.

Polly Mason: “And now there is good Polly.”

She shakes her head.

Polly Mason: “Life doesn't work like that.”

KC Rogers: “So you don't reject who you were.”

Polly Mason: “I reject some things I did.”

Immediate.

Polly Mason: “Absolutely.”

She looks directly toward KC Rogers.

Polly Mason: “There were times I hurt people because hurting them felt easier than admitting how frightened or confused I was.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “There were times I liked people being afraid of me.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “That's harder to admit.”

KC Rogers: “But you're admitting it.”

Polly Mason: “Because pretending she never existed gives her too much power.”

KC Rogers remains silent.

Polly Mason: “I've said this before.”

Her voice becomes quieter.

Polly Mason: “I didn't erase her.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “I learned to live with her.”

It is the same distinction Polly Mason made when Dr. Violetta Voss tried to provoke her back toward the unstable version of herself before Fallout.

KC Rogers: “That sounds very different from being cured.”

Polly Mason: “It is.”

KC Rogers: “You have used that word carefully.”

Polly Mason: “Because other people like it more than I do.”

She leans back slightly.

Polly Mason: “Cured sounds finished.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “I'm not finished.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “I'm better.”

She nods.

Polly Mason: “I'm healthier.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “I understand myself.”

A faint smile.

Polly Mason: “Most days.”

KC Rogers: “Most days?”

Polly Mason: “I'm a Mason.”

KC Rogers almost smiles.

Polly Mason: “There are limitations.”

The tension softens briefly.

Then KC Rogers changes direction.

KC Rogers: “You mentioned family.”

Polly Mason’s expression changes immediately.

KC Rogers: “Your brother has been central to this.”

Polly Mason nods.

KC Rogers: “People sometimes describe Jack Mason as the person who brought you back.”

A pause.

KC Rogers: “Is that how you describe it?”

Polly Mason thinks carefully.

Polly Mason: “Yes.”

Then—

Polly Mason: “And no.”

KC Rogers waits.

Polly Mason: “My brother never stopped believing I could come back.”

Her expression softens.

Polly Mason: “That's true.”

Polly Mason: “When other people saw something dangerous…”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “He saw his sister.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “When people treated me like something that needed to be contained…”

Her eyes lower briefly.

Polly Mason: “He treated me like Polly.”

That principle has remained central to her recovery: Polly Mason has repeatedly said her brother never stopped believing she could return, while her family treated her as herself rather than as damaged material.

Polly Mason: “But Jack didn't wave his hand and fix me.”

KC Rogers: “That distinction matters to you.”

Polly Mason: “A lot.”

She looks directly at KC Rogers.

Polly Mason: “He helped me remember I still had choices.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “Then he stayed around while I learned how to make them.”

KC Rogers: “Even bad ones?”

Polly Mason: “Especially bad ones.”

A small smile.

Polly Mason: “He complained constantly.”

KC Rogers: “That sounds more like the Jack Mason I know.”

Polly Mason: “Exactly.”

Another brief moment of warmth.

Then KC Rogers glances down at her notes.

KC Rogers: “There is another interesting part of your history.”

Polly Mason: “Only one?”

KC Rogers: “For the purposes of the next question.”

That draws another smile.

KC Rogers: “Earlier this year, you found yourself fighting people connected to another period of your past.”

The screen behind the set slowly comes alive for the first time.

Not with dramatic music.

Just silent footage.

Feral.

Ursa Titania.

Marcus the Beastmaster.

The Primal Horde.

KC Rogers: “You once stood beside the Primal Horde.”

Polly Mason watches the footage.

KC Rogers: “Then this year you were standing across from Feral and Ursa Titania.”

Footage shows Polly Mason trading offense with Feral, then fighting through the raw power of Ursa Titania.

KC Rogers: “Those matches became very personal.”

Polly Mason: “They had to.”

KC Rogers: “Why?”

Polly Mason: “Because they knew me.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “Or they thought they did.”

She watches Feral on the screen.

Polly Mason: “There's something uncomfortable about fighting someone who remembers an older version of you.”

Her eyes shift toward Ursa Titania.

Polly Mason: “They know where you've been.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “They know what you used to tolerate.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “Sometimes they expect you to become that person again the moment things get hard.”

Early in 2026, Polly Mason’s battles with Feral and Ursa Titania were explicitly framed around her history with the Primal Horde, with Polly Mason eventually defeating Ursa Titania through sustained strategy and resilience rather than simply trying to overpower her.

KC Rogers: “And you didn't.”

Polly Mason: “No.”

She watches herself on the screen.

Polly Mason: “That's when I started understanding something.”

KC Rogers: “What?”

Polly Mason: “Being different doesn't mean becoming weaker.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “The old me would've tried to hurt Ursa harder.”

She smiles faintly.

Polly Mason: “The woman sitting here learned to attack her leg.”

KC Rogers: “Adaptation.”

Polly Mason: “Exactly.”

The footage fades.

The room grows quieter.

KC Rogers does not immediately ask the next question.

When she does, her voice is softer.

KC Rogers: “Then came the kidnapping.”

Polly Mason becomes still.

KC Rogers: “You and Edie were taken.”

A pause.

KC Rogers: “And suddenly everything you had spent years building was being deliberately tested.”

Polly Mason: “Not tested.”

A beat.

Polly Mason: “Attacked.”

KC Rogers nods.

KC Rogers: “Fair distinction.”

The screen shows no footage now.

Only a dark violet background.

KC Rogers:Dr. Violetta Voss studied under Dr. Moreau.”

Polly Mason’s jaw tightens slightly.

KC Rogers: “She had access to information about what had been done to you before.”

Another pause.

KC Rogers: “And she tried to use it.”

Polly Mason: “She tried to put me back.”

Exactly the language Polly Mason previously used to describe Dr. Violetta Voss’s attempt to reverse her recovery during captivity.

KC Rogers: “Back into the woman we were just discussing.”

Polly Mason: “Yes.”

Her voice is steady.

Polly Mason: “Questions.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “Repetition.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “Words she knew had mattered before.”

She looks toward KC Rogers.

Polly Mason: “Watching my face every time she said something she thought would make me doubt myself.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “Watching what happened when Edie got scared.”

Her expression tightens.

Polly Mason: “That was the part I hated most.”

KC Rogers: “Because they used Edie as pressure.”

Polly Mason: “Yes.”

A long silence follows.

Polly Mason: “They believed if I thought I'd failed her…”

She taps two fingers lightly against the arm of the chair.

Polly Mason: “…I would start breaking myself for them.”

Another pause.

Polly Mason: “They were wrong.”

KC Rogers: “Were you ever afraid they were right?”

That lands.

Polly Mason looks at her.

KC Rogers does not withdraw the question.

Polly Mason: “Yes.”

Silence.

Polly Mason: “That's another important answer.”

She exhales.

Polly Mason: “Being strong doesn't mean I sat there completely fearless.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “There were moments I was terrified.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “There were moments something would be said and I'd feel that old confusion for half a second.”

Her voice lowers.

Polly Mason: “And half a second can feel very long when you know what used to live there.”

KC Rogers: “What stopped it?”

Polly Mason: “People.”

The answer is immediate.

Polly Mason:Edie.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “My brother.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “My family.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “The Misfits.”

Her eyes return to KC Rogers.

Polly Mason: “And eventually me.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “That's the part Voss never understood.”

KC Rogers: “Explain that.”

Polly Mason: “She thought recovery was something everyone else had built around me.”

A small shake of the head.

Polly Mason: “Take away the people.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “Apply enough pressure.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “And eventually the structure falls down.”

She looks directly into the primary camera.

Polly Mason: “But at some point, I started holding it up too.”

Silence.

KC Rogers allows several seconds to pass.

Then—

KC Rogers: “At Fallout, you finally fought Dr. Violetta Voss.”

Polly Mason: “Yes.”

KC Rogers: “Last Woman Standing.”

A pause.

KC Rogers: “And she beat you.”

No cushioning.

No euphemism.

Polly Mason nods.

Polly Mason: “She did.”

KC Rogers: “Does Tuesday change that?”

Polly Mason: “No.”

Immediate.

KC Rogers: “Not even a little?”

Polly Mason: “Not even a little.”

She looks toward the championship.

Polly Mason: “This doesn't erase losing to Voss.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “And I don't want it to.”

KC Rogers: “Why?”

Polly Mason: “Because pretending the loss disappeared because I won something afterward would be exactly the kind of lie I've spent years learning not to tell myself.”

The room becomes completely still.

Polly Mason:Voss beat me.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “I hate that.”

A small humorless smile.

Polly Mason: “I really hate that.”

KC Rogers: “I believe you.”

Polly Mason: “Good.”

The smile disappears.

Polly Mason: “And someday I want that match again.”

KC Rogers: “Because you need revenge?”

Polly Mason: “No.”

She considers the word.

Polly Mason: “Not only.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “Because I want to beat the woman who beat me.”

Simple.

Competitive.

KC Rogers nods.

KC Rogers: “Four nights ago, you walked into Halifax with that defeat still on your record.”

She gestures toward the championship.

KC Rogers: “And walked out with this.”

Polly Mason looks at it.

KC Rogers: “Does becoming champion prove something about your recovery?”

Another long pause.

Polly Mason: “No.”

That answer seems to surprise even KC Rogers slightly.

KC Rogers: “No?”

Polly Mason: “No.”

She reaches forward.

Her fingers rest against the edge of the Queen of the North Championship.

Polly Mason: “Because I don't want this championship carrying that responsibility.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “If I lose it next week, does that mean I'm less recovered?”

KC Rogers: “No.”

Polly Mason: “Exactly.”

She draws her hand back.

Polly Mason: “I earned this because I beat Lilith.”

Another pause.

Polly Mason: “That's enough.”

KC Rogers: “So it isn't validation.”

Polly Mason: “It's a championship.”

A smile.

Polly Mason: “A really nice championship.”

KC Rogers smiles.

Polly Mason: “And I am extremely proud of winning it.”

The smile remains for a moment.

Then she becomes serious again.

Polly Mason: “But I was still Polly Mason before Tuesday.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “I would still be Polly Mason if Lilith had beaten me.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “That's the transformation.”

KC Rogers looks at her for several seconds.

KC Rogers: “That may be the most important thing you've said.”

Polly Mason: “You can put it on the poster.”

KC Rogers: “We'll discuss royalties later.”

A small laugh breaks the tension.

Then KC Rogers glances toward the title.

KC Rogers: “Which brings us to the unavoidable question.”

Polly Mason: “I knew we were getting there.”

KC Rogers: “Who is next?”

The camera moves slightly closer.

KC Rogers: “Because we saw your arrival tonight.”

She begins listing them carefully.

KC Rogers:Crimson Vane believes she deserves a one-on-one championship opportunity.”

A pause.

KC Rogers:Moonshadow spent weeks pursuing the Queen of the North Championship and told you tonight that she has found new prey.”

Another.

KC Rogers:Emberlyn Black and Velora Synn made their interest obvious without needing many words.”

Another.

KC Rogers:Dr. Violetta Voss reminded you that she already owns a victory over you.”

Another.

KC Rogers: “And then there is Lilith.”

Polly Mason: “Yes.”

KC Rogers: “The former champion.”

A pause.

KC Rogers: “So who gets the first opportunity?”

Polly Mason looks down at the championship.

Then back at KC Rogers.

Polly Mason: “There's one answer that isn't complicated.”

KC Rogers:Lilith.”

Polly Mason:Lilith.”

She nods.

Polly Mason: “She has the right to her rematch within thirty days.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “She earned that right by being champion.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “And I will honor it.”

KC Rogers: “No hesitation.”

Polly Mason: “None.”

KC Rogers: “Despite Count Vlad?”

Polly Mason’s expression tightens.

Polly Mason: “I didn't say I trust the people around her.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “I said I'll honor the rematch.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “If Lilith wants it tomorrow…”

She taps the championship.

Polly Mason: “…I'm ready.”

KC Rogers: “And after Lilith?”

Polly Mason: “That's where it gets crowded.”

A faint smile.

KC Rogers:Crimson Vane?”

Polly Mason: “Former champion.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “Legitimate argument.”

KC Rogers:Moonshadow?”

Polly Mason: “Earned her way into this picture before I ever had the title.”

KC Rogers:Dr. Violetta Voss?”

A longer pause.

Polly Mason: “She beat me.”

Simple.

KC Rogers: “That answer still bothers you.”

Polly Mason: “A lot.”

KC Rogers:Emberlyn Black?”

Polly Mason: “Dangerous.”

KC Rogers:Velora Synn?”

Polly Mason: “Also dangerous.”

She smiles.

Polly Mason: “And apparently both hungry.”

KC Rogers: “You noticed that too.”

Polly Mason: “Hard not to.”

The smile disappears.

KC Rogers: “Does any one of them frighten you?”

Polly Mason thinks.

Polly Mason: “That's not the question anymore.”

KC Rogers: “What is?”

Polly Mason: “Whether I'm ready.”

A beat.

Polly Mason: “And I am.”

She reaches forward and lifts the Queen of the North Championship from the table.

She does not immediately put it over her shoulder.

She rests it across her lap.

Polly Mason: “They don't all have the same claim.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “They don't all have the same history with me.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “But every woman you just named can beat people.”

Her hand settles across the faceplate.

Polly Mason: “So I'm not going to stand here and pretend any of them are beneath me.”

KC Rogers: “That's a very different answer from many new champions.”

Polly Mason: “I've spent too much time having people tell me who I really am.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “I'm not going to start doing it to everybody else.”

That sits quietly between them.

KC Rogers: “Then what kind of champion do you intend to be?”

Polly Mason looks toward the championship again.

Polly Mason: “Present.”

KC Rogers: “Present?”

Polly Mason: “Yes.”

She looks back up.

Polly Mason: “Not perfect.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “Not fearless.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “Not unbeatable.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “Present.”

Her voice grows firmer.

Polly Mason: “If Lilith wants her rematch, I'll be there.”

Polly Mason: “If Crimson Vane earns the match, I'll be there.”

Polly Mason: “If Moonshadow comes hunting, I'll be there.”

Polly Mason: “If Emberlyn Black or Velora Synn decide they want to find out what happens when hunger meets somebody who refuses to move…”

A faint smile.

Polly Mason: “…I'll be there too.”

She pauses.

Polly Mason: “And if Dr. Violetta Voss wants another look at the woman she thinks she understands…”

The smile disappears.

Polly Mason: “…I definitely won't be hard to find.”

KC Rogers: “You sound almost eager for that one.”

Polly Mason: “I said I've changed.”

A small smile returns.

Polly Mason: “I didn't say I've become a saint.”

KC Rogers allows herself a brief laugh.

Then her voice becomes quieter for the final question.

KC Rogers: “One year ago, could the woman you were then have imagined this?”

She gestures toward the championship.

KC Rogers: “Sitting here.”

A pause.

KC Rogers: “Talking about your past without running from it.”

Another.

KC Rogers: “Queen of the North Champion.”

Polly Mason looks down.

The championship shines across her lap.

Several seconds pass.

Polly Mason: “No.”

She looks back up.

Polly Mason: “But that's okay.”

KC Rogers: “Why?”

Polly Mason: “Because she didn't need to know how the story ended.”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “She just needed somebody to convince her there was another page.”

Her eyes soften.

Polly Mason: “My brother did that.”

Another pause.

Polly Mason: “My family did that.”

Another.

Polly Mason: “Eventually I started doing it for myself.”

She lifts the championship slightly.

Polly Mason: “And this…”

A pause.

Polly Mason: “…is one of the pages.”

Not the ending.

Not the cure.

Just part of the story.

KC Rogers nods slowly.

KC Rogers: “Then perhaps the best way to describe Tuesday is not that Polly Mason finally became someone different.”

A pause.

KC Rogers: “It's that the woman who spent years learning to choose who she would be finally became champion as herself.”

Polly Mason considers that.

Then smiles.

Polly Mason: “You really are better at this than Eddie Ellington.”

KC Rogers: “That is not the highest bar I've been asked to clear.”

From somewhere inside the arena, an enormous laugh and cheer can be heard bleeding faintly through the backstage walls.

Polly Mason laughs.

KC Rogers turns slightly toward the primary camera.

KC Rogers: “The new Queen of the North Champion, Polly Mason.”

She looks back toward her guest.

KC Rogers: “And judging by the number of women already looking toward that championship, becoming champion may have been the beginning of the difficult part.”

Polly Mason lifts the title and finally places it over her shoulder.

Polly Mason: “Good.”

A beat.

Polly Mason: “I didn't survive everything that came before this just to hide behind it.”

The camera holds.

Polly Mason seated with the Queen of the North Championship over her shoulder.

KC Rogers opposite her.

No celebration.

No confrontation.

Just a champion who understands exactly how long the road behind her has been.

The image slowly fades back toward North Pole Arena.

MATCH 2

The broadcast returns live to North Pole Arena.

Inside the ring, “Honest” Abe finishes checking the turnbuckles before speaking briefly with the timekeeper.

At ringside, Johnny “The Mic” Michaels looks toward the entrance stage.

Beside him, Eddie Ellington has already settled comfortably into his chair.

Johnny Michaels: “Our second contest tonight features an NPCW debut. Astrid Ironvale, known as the Iron Maiden of the Vale, steps into an NPCW ring for the first time against an established opponent in Gilda the Greedy.”

Eddie Ellington: “Wonderful. Welcome to NPCW.”

A pause.

Eddie Ellington: “Now lose.”

Johnny Michaels: “That did not take long.”

Eddie Ellington: “Why pretend? I like Gilda.”

Johnny Michaels: “Because?”

Eddie Ellington: “Because greed gets a bad reputation from people without enough ambition.”

Johnny Michaels: “That may be the most predictable explanation possible.”

Eddie Ellington: “And yet completely correct.”

The arena lighting changes.

Cold white illumination spreads slowly across the entrance stage.

A metallic percussion rhythm begins beneath a restrained, driving theme.

Steel-blue light cuts through the white.

Then Astrid Ironvale steps through the curtain.

The crowd gives the newcomer an interested reaction.

She pauses at the center of the stage.

No elaborate celebration.

No attempt to immediately win over the audience.

She stands straight, scans North Pole Arena and fixes her attention on the ring.

Johnny Michaels: “There she is. Astrid Ironvale, the Iron Maiden of the Vale, from Ironvale Ridge. Five-foot-ten, one hundred eighty-two pounds, and everything we have heard suggests a wrestler built around discipline, precision and physical strength.”

Eddie Ellington: “Everything you've heard.”

Johnny Michaels: “You remain skeptical.”

Eddie Ellington: “Of course I do. Everybody looks impressive before their first match. Nobody has lost yet.”

Johnny Michaels:Astrid Ironvale has a technical foundation, considerable upper-body power, hard striking offense and two extremely dangerous finishing options in the Northern Lockjaw and the Ironfall Driver.”

Eddie Ellington: “Very impressive brochure.”

Johnny Michaels: “You really are determined not to give her anything.”

Eddie Ellington: “I will give her directions back to the dressing room after Gilda beats her.”

Astrid Ironvale starts down the aisle.

Her pace remains measured.

She acknowledges the crowd with a small nod but keeps moving.

At ringside, she climbs onto the apron, steps through the ropes and walks directly toward the center.

She rolls one shoulder.

Then the other.

Her expression remains severe and controlled.

Johnny Michaels: “No visible nerves.”

Eddie Ellington: “Everyone has nerves.”

Johnny Michaels: “She is hiding them well.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then perhaps Gilda can help her find them.”

Astrid Ironvale moves into her corner.

Her music fades.

The lighting changes again.

Gold illumination begins spreading across the entrance stage.

The crowd responds with immediate boos.

A sharper, more self-satisfied theme begins.

Then Gilda the Greedy steps through the curtain.

She stops.

Looks toward the ring.

Then toward Astrid Ironvale.

A smile appears.

Eddie Ellington: “Now there is somebody who understands professional wrestling.”

Johnny Michaels: “Because she smiled?”

Eddie Ellington: “Because she looked at the newcomer and immediately saw opportunity.”

Johnny Michaels: “You have interpreted a remarkable amount from one facial expression.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's expertise.”

Gilda the Greedy begins walking down the aisle.

She takes her time.

The hostility from the crowd does not bother her in the slightest.

As she approaches ringside, Gilda points toward Astrid Ironvale and then toward herself.

Johnny Michaels: “There is also pressure on Gilda the Greedy here. Nobody wants to become the first name on a newcomer's NPCW résumé.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's exactly why Gilda is going to stop this before people start getting sentimental.”

Johnny Michaels: “You believe experience is the deciding factor.”

Eddie Ellington: “Experience. Intelligence. Ruthlessness. And a healthy appreciation for acquiring things that belong to somebody else.”

Johnny Michaels: “Including victories.”

Eddie Ellington: “Especially victories.”

Gilda the Greedy reaches ringside.

She climbs the steps and enters through the ropes.

Astrid Ironvale moves forward slightly.

Gilda does the same.

“Honest” Abe immediately steps between them.

Celeste Orion enters with microphone in hand.

Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following singles contest is scheduled for one fall with a thirty-minute time limit!”

The crowd cheers.

Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, making her NPCW debut, from IRONVALE RIDGE... the IRON MAIDEN OF THE VALE... ASTRID IRONVALE!”

The crowd gives Astrid Ironvale a strong welcoming response.

She raises one arm.

Nothing exaggerated.

Then lowers it.

Celeste Orion turns toward the opposite corner.

Celeste Orion: “And her opponent... GILDA THE GREEDY!”

Boos roll through the arena.

Gilda the Greedy spreads her arms and smiles.

Eddie Ellington: “There is your winner.”

Johnny Michaels: “Again?”

Eddie Ellington: “Consistency is important.”

Celeste Orion exits.

“Honest” Abe calls both women toward the center.

He gives the final instructions.

Astrid Ironvale listens without looking away from Gilda.

Gilda the Greedy smiles directly at the newcomer.

The referee separates them.

Signals.

The bell rings.

Minute 1

Astrid Ironvale wastes no time introducing herself.

She drives Gilda the Greedy backward and creates enough separation to climb rapidly toward the ropes.

Astrid launches.

DIVING HEADBUTT!

The strike catches Gilda across the upper body and sends both women down.

The crowd reacts strongly.

Astrid Ironvale rises first and comes forward again.

This time Gilda the Greedy catches her.

She slips behind.

GERMAN SUPLEX!

Astrid is thrown hard onto her shoulders and upper back.

Gilda releases and rolls to one knee.

Johnny Michaels: “Immediate impact from the newcomer! Astrid Ironvale hits the Diving Headbutt, but Gilda the Greedy responds with a German Suplex.”

Eddie Ellington: “And that's the first lesson.”

Johnny Michaels: “Which is?”

Eddie Ellington: “This is NPCW. You don't get to admire your debut move.”

Johnny Michaels: “That Diving Headbutt landed cleanly.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Gilda got up and threw her over her head. Welcome to work.”

Minute 2

Astrid Ironvale creates space again.

She looks toward the ropes.

Gilda the Greedy recognizes the setup immediately.

Astrid climbs and launches for another DIVING HEADBUTT.

This time—

Nobody home.

Gilda moves sharply away.

Astrid Ironvale crashes into the canvas.

She immediately grabs at her head and shoulder.

Gilda the Greedy stands over her and gives an exaggerated little shrug.

Johnny Michaels: “Excellent adjustment by Gilda the Greedy. She saw the second Diving Headbutt coming and completely neutralized it.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly.”

Johnny Michaels: “You sound delighted.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because Gilda learned in one minute. That's intelligence. Astrid thought she found something that worked and went straight back to it.”

Johnny Michaels: “The first one landed.”

Eddie Ellington: “And the second one introduced her face to the canvas.”

Minute 3

Astrid Ironvale pulls herself upright.

Gilda the Greedy approaches confidently.

Perhaps too confidently.

Astrid catches her and creates another opening.

She goes upward.

DIVING HEADBUTT!

This time it connects again.

The crowd cheers.

Gilda rolls backward from the impact.

But once again she gets up quickly.

Astrid Ironvale reaches for her.

Gilda gets behind.

GERMAN SUPLEX!

Another hard landing.

Astrid rolls toward the ropes.

Johnny Michaels:Astrid Ironvale proves she can still land that Diving Headbutt, and once again Gilda responds with the German Suplex.”

Eddie Ellington: “I prefer Gilda's side of that exchange.”

Johnny Michaels: “Naturally.”

Eddie Ellington: “Think about it. Every time Astrid launches her own body through the air, Gilda makes her stand up and then throws her backward.”

Johnny Michaels: “It is certainly making Astrid pay for every offensive burst.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's what veterans do to newcomers.”

Minute 4

The two women meet in the center.

Astrid Ironvale catches Gilda the Greedy around the body.

Gilda immediately widens her base.

She tries to block the lift.

Astrid keeps driving.

She powers through.

BRIDGING FALLAWAY SLAM!

Gilda is launched over.

Astrid maintains the bridge momentarily before releasing.

The crowd responds to the display of strength.

Johnny Michaels: “There is the power we heard about! Gilda tried to defend the Fallaway Slam and Astrid Ironvale simply powered through her.”

Eddie Ellington: “All right.”

Johnny Michaels: “That's all?”

Eddie Ellington: “It was impressive.”

Johnny Michaels: “You could say that.”

Eddie Ellington: “I just did. Don't become greedy.”

Johnny Michaels: “I'm surprised you consider that a negative tonight.”

Minute 5

Gilda the Greedy comes forward aggressively.

She lowers her shoulder.

SPEAR!

The impact drives Astrid Ironvale backward and down.

Gilda tries to remain on top of her.

But Astrid catches the arm during the scramble.

She turns.

Hooks the head.

NORTHERN LOCKJAW!

The Crossface Submission is secured.

The crowd rises.

Gilda the Greedy immediately reaches toward the ropes.

She is too far away.

Astrid Ironvale pulls backward.

“Honest” Abe drops beside Gilda.

He asks if she submits.

Gilda shakes her head furiously.

No.

She claws forward.

Astrid increases the pressure.

Gilda continues crawling.

Finally she gets enough of her body toward the ropes to force Astrid to release.

Johnny Michaels: “Northern Lockjaw! Gilda hit the Spear, but Astrid Ironvale turned the scramble afterward directly into her Crossface.”

Eddie Ellington: “Did Gilda quit?”

Johnny Michaels: “No.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then congratulations to Astrid on unsuccessfully squeezing her face.”

Johnny Michaels: “That was a dangerous submission.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Gilda survived it. That's the story.”

Johnny Michaels: “It also tells us the newcomer can transition into that hold very quickly.”

Eddie Ellington: “Wonderful. Next time Gilda will keep her arms away from her.”

Minute 6

Both women rise.

Astrid Ironvale catches Gilda the Greedy first.

She lifts.

SAMOAN DROP!

Gilda crashes beneath her.

But Astrid takes too long getting back to her feet.

Gilda the Greedy catches her around the throat.

She powers Astrid upward.

CHOKE BOMB!

Astrid Ironvale is driven into the canvas.

Johnny Michaels: “Samoan Drop answered by the Choke Bomb! This is becoming a very physical debut for Astrid Ironvale.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly what I wanted.”

Johnny Michaels: “You wanted her hurt?”

Eddie Ellington: “I wanted her properly introduced. Gilda is providing orientation.”

Johnny Michaels: “The newcomer continues landing plenty of offense.”

Eddie Ellington: “And every time she does, Gilda reminds her that there is another woman in the ring.”

Minute 7

Astrid Ironvale rises sharply.

She catches Gilda the Greedy before Gilda can establish another power position.

She hooks her.

SPIKE PILEDRIVER!

Gilda is driven hard into the canvas.

The crowd reacts.

Astrid reaches down.

But Gilda suddenly twists through the grip.

She catches Astrid in motion.

THE PAY OFF!

The Sidewinder Tilt-a-Whirl Slam whips Astrid Ironvale through the air and drives her down.

Both women remain on the canvas.

Johnny Michaels: “Spike Piledriver from Astrid, but Gilda the Greedy comes right back with The Pay Off!”

Eddie Ellington: “Now that's a proper name.”

Johnny Michaels: “Of course you would like something called The Pay Off.”

Eddie Ellington: “Excellent branding and excellent execution.”

Johnny Michaels: “That was an enormous exchange. Neither woman could capitalize immediately.”

Eddie Ellington: “But Gilda made sure the newcomer didn't get to build anything after that Piledriver.”

Minute 8

Astrid Ironvale gets up first.

She pulls Gilda the Greedy into a double underhook.

Gilda tries to lower her weight.

Astrid powers her upward.

IRONFALL DRIVER!

The Underhook Slam Driver plants Gilda hard.

The impact draws a loud reaction from the crowd.

Gilda rolls onto one side.

For the first time, she is slow getting back up.

Johnny Michaels: “Ironfall Driver! One of Astrid Ironvale’s major weapons lands cleanly.”

Eddie Ellington: “Get up, Gilda.”

Johnny Michaels: “That one concerned you.”

Eddie Ellington: “I am observant, not concerned.”

Johnny Michaels:Gilda absorbed the full force of that Underhook Slam Driver.”

Eddie Ellington: “And she's still in the match.”

Johnny Michaels: “But for the first time, Astrid may have created sustained control.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then she had better enjoy it quickly.”

Minute 9

Gilda the Greedy struggles upright.

Astrid Ironvale comes forward.

AXE KICK!

The heel crashes down across Gilda’s upper back and head.

Gilda collapses.

Astrid turns her over and covers.

“Honest” Abe drops.

One!

Gilda the Greedy kicks out violently.

Astrid Ironvale immediately looks toward the referee.

Johnny Michaels: “Only one! Astrid hit the Axe Kick cleanly, but Gilda the Greedy kicks out before two.”

Eddie Ellington: “There!”

Johnny Michaels: “There what?”

Eddie Ellington: “That's your newcomer’s reality check. Ironfall Driver, Axe Kick, cover—and Gilda gets out at one.”

Johnny Michaels: “It still required her to kick out after considerable punishment.”

Eddie Ellington: “At one.”

Johnny Michaels: “You intend to repeat that several times.”

Eddie Ellington: “At one.”

Minute 10

Astrid Ironvale remains aggressive.

She accelerates toward Gilda the Greedy.

RUNNING HIP ATTACK!

The impact catches Gilda and drives her backward.

Astrid tries to continue.

Gilda plants her feet and fires.

FOREARM SHOT!

The strike snaps Astrid’s head sideways.

The newcomer stumbles.

Johnny Michaels: “Running Hip Attack from Astrid, answered immediately by that Forearm from Gilda.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's experience again.”

Johnny Michaels: “You are assigning every successful move to experience.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because she has it and Astrid doesn't.”

Johnny Michaels: “She certainly has more NPCW experience.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. Every time the newcomer thinks she's moving ahead, Gilda puts something in the way.”

Minute 11

The two women reengage.

Astrid Ironvale gets underneath Gilda the Greedy.

SAMOAN DROP!

Gilda crashes down.

Astrid reaches for her again.

Gilda twists away.

She catches Astrid during the turn.

THE PAY OFF!

The Sidewinder Tilt-a-Whirl Slam sends Astrid violently back to the mat.

Gilda sits upright.

A broad smile crosses her face.

Johnny Michaels: “Another Samoan Drop from Astrid, another Pay Off from Gilda. These women continue trading almost evenly.”

Eddie Ellington: “There is nothing even about it.”

Johnny Michaels: “The evidence suggests otherwise.”

Eddie Ellington:Gilda is educating her.”

Johnny Michaels: “While repeatedly being slammed herself.”

Eddie Ellington: “Education is demanding work.”

Minute 12

Astrid Ironvale gets to one knee.

Gilda the Greedy is already moving.

She catches Astrid around the body.

The newcomer tries to brace.

Gilda powers through.

OMEGA SLAM!

Astrid Ironvale is driven violently into the canvas.

The ring shakes.

Gilda rises over her.

Eddie Ellington: “YES!”

Johnny Michaels: “Omega Slam! Gilda the Greedy just drove Astrid Ironvale straight into the mat.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's what I've been waiting for.”

Johnny Michaels: “This may be the strongest control Gilda has established all match.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because she finally stopped answering and started dictating.”

Johnny Michaels:Astrid is having trouble getting up.”

Eddie Ellington: “First NPCW lesson: there are no participation trophies.”

Minute 13

Astrid Ironvale forces herself upright.

Gilda the Greedy closes.

Astrid suddenly accelerates.

RUNNING HIP ATTACK!

Gilda absorbs the collision but catches Astrid before she can move away.

One hand around the throat.

CHOKE BOMB!

Astrid is planted again.

Johnny Michaels:Astrid keeps fighting back, but that is another Choke Bomb from Gilda.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's why I like her.”

Johnny Michaels: “Because?”

Eddie Ellington: “No panic. Get hit, grab the newcomer by the throat, put her back down.”

Johnny Michaels: “Simple strategy.”

Eddie Ellington: “The best strategies frequently are.”

Minute 14

Both women rise slowly.

Astrid Ironvale strikes first.

AXE KICK!

The blow lands again.

Gilda the Greedy stumbles.

Astrid tries to follow.

Gilda fires a heavy FOREARM SHOT.

The strike catches Astrid across the jaw.

Both women stagger apart.

Johnny Michaels: “Another Axe Kick from Astrid, another Forearm from Gilda. We are fourteen minutes into this debut, and Astrid Ironvale has shown she can withstand a very difficult fight.”

Eddie Ellington: “Withstand is not win.”

Johnny Michaels: “I didn't say it was.”

Eddie Ellington: “Good. Gilda keeps making her pay for every advance.”

Johnny Michaels: “But the Axe Kick continues to land.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then stop walking underneath her leg, Gilda.”

Minute 15

Gilda the Greedy attempts to close the distance.

Astrid Ironvale knocks her backward.

The newcomer climbs.

She launches.

DIVING HEADBUTT!

The strike lands for the third time.

Gilda reels but refuses to stay down.

She gets back up and immediately swarms Astrid.

PUNCH!

Another!

Another!

A rapid series of punches forces Astrid Ironvale backward toward the ropes.

Johnny Michaels: “The Diving Headbutt lands again, but Gilda responds with those repeated punches.”

Eddie Ellington: “Good.”

Johnny Michaels: “You were unusually quiet when the Headbutt landed.”

Eddie Ellington: “I was allowing Gilda time to correct the situation.”

Johnny Michaels: “And she certainly did with that barrage.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. You don't need something fancy every minute. Sometimes you simply punch the newcomer until she stops advancing.”

Minute 16

The two women meet again near center ring.

Astrid Ironvale fires another AXE KICK.

The strike catches Gilda the Greedy.

But Gilda keeps hold of Astrid’s momentum.

She spins underneath.

THE PAY OFF!

The Sidewinder Tilt-a-Whirl Slam sends Astrid crashing down again.

Gilda rolls through and rises to one knee.

Johnny Michaels: “Axe Kick lands, but Gilda somehow turns the exchange into another Pay Off!”

Eddie Ellington: “Beautiful!”

Johnny Michaels: “That is the third Pay Off we have seen tonight.”

Eddie Ellington: “And this one came after Astrid thought she had her.”

Johnny Michaels: “That ability to answer has been Gilda’s greatest strength throughout the match.”

Eddie Ellington: “You finally understand.”

Minute 17

Gilda the Greedy gets up first.

She begins throwing punches again.

One.

Two.

Three.

Astrid Ironvale gives ground.

Gilda steps forward for another.

Astrid catches the arms.

Double underhook.

She lifts.

IRONFALL DRIVER!

Gilda is driven into the canvas.

The crowd erupts.

Both women remain down momentarily.

Johnny Michaels: “Ironfall Driver! Gilda was overwhelming Astrid with punches, and the newcomer found the Underhook Slam Driver right in the middle of them.”

Eddie Ellington: “I don't like that.”

Johnny Michaels: “That makes two Ironfall Drivers.”

Eddie Ellington: “I heard you.”

Johnny Michaels: “And Gilda is not getting up quickly.”

Eddie Ellington: “She will.”

Johnny Michaels: “Your confidence has become slightly less enthusiastic.”

Eddie Ellington: “Strategically quieter.”

Minute 18

Astrid Ironvale reaches her feet.

Gilda the Greedy rises shortly afterward.

Astrid gets around the body.

BRIDGING FALLAWAY SLAM!

Gilda is launched across the ring.

But she scrambles up before Astrid can completely capitalize.

Gilda catches the newcomer by the throat.

CHOKE BOMB!

Astrid is driven down.

Gilda falls beside her.

Both women are exhausted.

Johnny Michaels: “Bridging Fallaway Slam from Astrid, Choke Bomb from Gilda! Eighteen minutes and neither woman can create enough separation to finish this.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's because Gilda refuses to stay down.”

Johnny Michaels: “So does Astrid.”

Eddie Ellington: “We're discussing Gilda.”

Johnny Michaels: “You're discussing Gilda.”

Eddie Ellington: “Correct.”

Johnny Michaels: “But this debut has gone far beyond simply showing potential. Astrid Ironvale is fighting an established opponent deep into a difficult match.”

Eddie Ellington: “And she's about to learn that moral victories don't pay.”

Minute 19

Both women slowly rise.

Gilda the Greedy gets one hand on the ropes.

She turns.

Astrid Ironvale is already moving.

Gilda raises her guard.

Too late.

AXE KICK!

The heel crashes down across Gilda’s upper body.

Gilda the Greedy collapses.

This time Astrid does not hesitate.

She drops into the cover.

“Honest” Abe slides into position.

One!

Eddie Ellington: “Get up!”

Two!

Eddie Ellington: “GILDA!”

Three!

The bell rings.

The crowd erupts.

Eddie Ellington: “NO!”

Johnny Michaels: “She did it! In her first NPCW match, Astrid Ironvale defeats Gilda the Greedy!”

Eddie Ellington: “That was completely unnecessary.”

Johnny Michaels: “The three-count?”

Eddie Ellington: “Yes!”

Johnny Michaels: “Generally necessary to determine a winner.”

Eddie Ellington:Gilda spent nineteen minutes educating that woman!”

Johnny Michaels: “And the student passed the test.”

Eddie Ellington: “Don't become pleased with yourself.”

Astrid Ironvale rolls away from the cover and sits upright.

For the first time all match, the severe expression breaks.

Only slightly.

She exhales.

Looks around North Pole Arena.

Then nods.

Celeste Orion raises the microphone.

Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winner by pinfall... ASTRID IRONVALE!”

The crowd cheers.

“Honest” Abe raises Astrid Ironvale’s arm.

Across the ring, Gilda the Greedy sits up.

She looks toward the referee.

Then toward Astrid.

Complete disbelief.

Eddie Ellington: “Look at Gilda. She knows exactly what happened.”

Johnny Michaels: “She was pinned.”

Eddie Ellington: “You have a gift for ruining analysis.”

Johnny Michaels: “Then analyze it.”

Eddie Ellington: “Fine. Gilda survived the Northern Lockjaw. She survived two Ironfall Drivers. She survived repeated Diving Headbutts. She hit three Pay Offs, two Choke Bombs, the Omega Slam, and repeatedly stopped Astrid from maintaining momentum.”

Johnny Michaels: “All true.”

Eddie Ellington: “Thank you.”

Johnny Michaels: “And after all of that, Astrid Ironvale caught her with the Axe Kick and pinned her.”

Eddie Ellington: “I knew there was going to be an unpleasant ending to that sentence.”

Johnny Michaels: “For Astrid Ironvale, this is exactly the debut she wanted. She was tested for nineteen minutes, had major offense countered, survived some of Gilda’s best attacks and proved she could adjust under pressure.”

Eddie Ellington: “One match.”

Johnny Michaels: “Absolutely.”

Eddie Ellington: “One victory.”

Johnny Michaels: “Yes.”

Eddie Ellington: “Against an exceptionally generous Gilda the Greedy.”

Johnny Michaels: “There it is.”

Eddie Ellington: “I was worried you thought I'd become sentimental.”

Inside the ring, Astrid Ironvale walks toward the ropes.

She pauses.

Looks back toward Gilda the Greedy.

No taunting.

No exaggerated celebration.

Just a respectful acknowledgment that the victory had been difficult.

Gilda does not return it.

She turns away in disgust.

Johnny Michaels: “A composed reaction from Astrid Ironvale. No excessive celebration. She knows she was in a fight.”

Eddie Ellington: “Good. At least she learned something.”

Johnny Michaels: “NPCW debut. Nineteen minutes. First victory.”

A pause.

Johnny Michaels: “The Iron Maiden of the Vale has arrived.”

ASTRID IRONVALE DEFEATS GILDA THE GREEDY VIA PINFALL WITH AN AXE KICK AT THE 19:00 MINUTE MARK.

MATCH 3

The broadcast returns live to North Pole Arena.

Inside the ring, “Honest” Abe checks both corners before exchanging a brief word with the timekeeper.

At ringside, Johnny “The Mic” Michaels looks toward the entrance stage.

Beside him, Eddie Ellington has already leaned forward with considerably more interest than usual.

Johnny Michaels: “Tag-team competition is next, and this brings together two teams trying to force their way upward in an increasingly crowded division. Hans Trapp and Knecht Ruprecht, accompanied by Fenwick Grimbough, face Comet and Prancer of the Reindeer Coalition.”

Eddie Ellington: “And tonight we correct an injustice.”

Johnny Michaels: “You have already identified one?”

Eddie Ellington: “Last week, Hans Trapp and Knecht Ruprecht controlled significant portions of their match with the River Reapers and then lost because Knecht Ruprecht was counted out.”

Johnny Michaels: “Which is a completely legitimate way to lose a match.”

Eddie Ellington: “Legitimate does not mean satisfying.”

Johnny Michaels: “And you believe tonight provides the answer.”

Eddie Ellington: “Absolutely. Two big, disciplined men with Fenwick Grimbough directing traffic against two reindeer who think movement solves everything.”

A bright burst of silver and icy blue washes across the entrance stage.

Sleigh bells sound beneath an energetic rhythm.

The crowd rises.

Comet steps through the curtain first.

Beside him comes Prancer.

The Reindeer Coalition stop together at the top of the aisle.

They exchange a quick fist bump before pointing toward the ring.

The crowd responds warmly.

Johnny Michaels: “The Reindeer Coalition enter tonight after an extremely demanding stretch of competition, and one thing nobody can question is their willingness to take risks.”

Eddie Ellington: “I question the wisdom of those risks constantly.”

Johnny Michaels:Comet brings explosive speed and aerial offense. Prancer can attack from multiple angles. Together they can completely change the pace of a match.”

Eddie Ellington: “Provided somebody lets them.”

Johnny Michaels: “And you do not expect Hans Trapp and Knecht Ruprecht to cooperate.”

Eddie Ellington: “I expect them to hit the reindeer until the running stops.”

Comet and Prancer begin down the aisle.

Both acknowledge the fans along the barricade.

They reach ringside.

Comet slides beneath the bottom rope.

Prancer springs onto the apron and steps through.

The two climb onto opposite turnbuckles and raise their arms.

The crowd cheers again.

They drop back to the canvas and meet in the center.

One more fist bump.

Then both turn toward the entrance.

Their music fades.

A low bell tolls.

The lighting darkens.

Muted brown, black and sickly yellow illumination spreads across the stage.

A crooked melody begins.

Boos immediately roll through the arena.

Fenwick Grimbough emerges first.

He is carrying a thick rulebook beneath one arm.

A rulebook that appears to contain far more inserted notes, scraps of paper and bookmarks than any ordinary wrestling regulation manual should require.

Eddie Ellington: “Excellent.”

Johnny Michaels: “Why does Fenwick Grimbough have a rulebook?”

Eddie Ellington: “Preparation.”

Johnny Michaels: “That thing appears to have doubled in size.”

Eddie Ellington: “Knowledge is heavy.”

Then Hans Trapp steps through the curtain.

Beside him comes Knecht Ruprecht.

The boos intensify.

Neither wrestler acknowledges them.

Hans Trapp stares directly toward Comet.

Knecht Ruprecht focuses on Prancer.

Behind them, Fenwick Grimbough begins speaking rapidly.

Neither man responds.

They simply start walking.

Johnny Michaels: “There is the physical problem the Reindeer Coalition must solve. Hans Trapp and Knecht Ruprecht are bigger, they are willing to slow a match down, and both men are perfectly comfortable turning this into a grinding fight.”

Eddie Ellington: “Comfortable? They prefer it.”

Johnny Michaels: “And then there is Fenwick Grimbough.”

Eddie Ellington: “A scholar.”

Johnny Michaels: “A distraction.”

Eddie Ellington: “An intellectual.”

Johnny Michaels: “An intellectual who yelled disconnected quotations at Huck Finn last week until he stopped paying attention to the match.”

Eddie Ellington: “Literacy is not illegal.”

The trio reaches ringside.

Fenwick Grimbough moves toward one corner.

Hans Trapp and Knecht Ruprecht climb onto the apron.

They step through the ropes.

The Reindeer Coalition immediately move forward.

“Honest” Abe gets between the teams.

Celeste Orion enters with microphone in hand.

Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following tag-team contest is scheduled for one fall with a thirty-minute time limit!”

The crowd cheers.

Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, the team of COMET and PRANCER... the REINDEER COALITION!”

Comet raises one arm.

Prancer does the same.

A strong reaction fills the arena.

Celeste Orion turns.

Celeste Orion: “And their opponents, accompanied to the ring by FENWICK GRIMBOUGH... HANS TRAPP and KNECHT RUPRECHT!”

Boos sweep through the building.

Hans Trapp raises both arms.

Knecht Ruprecht simply stares forward.

At ringside, Fenwick Grimbough enthusiastically applauds both men.

Eddie Ellington: “There are your winners.”

Johnny Michaels: “You continue doing this before the bell.”

Eddie Ellington: “And I continue being ahead of you.”

Celeste Orion exits.

Knecht Ruprecht steps onto the apron.

Prancer does the same.

That leaves Hans Trapp and Comet to begin.

“Honest” Abe gives both men final instructions.

The referee looks toward Fenwick Grimbough.

Points firmly toward the floor.

Fenwick Grimbough places one hand against his chest and appears offended by the implication.

Eddie Ellington: “Unnecessary.”

Johnny Michaels: “The referee is warning him not to interfere.”

Eddie Ellington: “Based on prejudice against educated men.”

“Honest” Abe signals.

The bell rings.

Minute 1

Comet begins cautiously.

Hans Trapp closes immediately.

He catches Comet before the faster wrestler can establish movement and powers him across his shoulders.

Comet immediately starts fighting.

He shifts his hips.

Drives an elbow toward the side of Hans Trapp’s head.

It is not enough.

TORTURE RACK!

Hans Trapp cranks down across the back.

Comet grimaces.

“Honest” Abe moves close.

He asks whether Comet wants to submit.

Comet shakes his head.

No.

Prancer reaches over the top rope, shouting encouragement.

Hans Trapp carries Comet away from the Reindeer Coalition corner.

He increases the pressure.

Comet continues fighting.

Eventually he gets enough movement to force Hans Trapp to release rather than risk losing control.

Comet drops to one knee.

Johnny Michaels: “Immediate Torture Rack! Hans Trapp wasted no time attacking the back and taking Comet’s feet away from him.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly what I wanted.”

Johnny Michaels: “You wanted Comet in trouble in the first minute.”

Eddie Ellington: “Of course. Speed is considerably less impressive when you're being carried around like luggage.”

Johnny Michaels:Comet refused to submit.”

Eddie Ellington: “And his back still experienced every second of that hold.”

Minute 2

Comet forces himself upright.

Hans Trapp follows.

RUNNING KNEE DROP!

The knee crashes across Comet’s upper body.

Comet rolls away.

Hans Trapp tries to stay on him.

Comet suddenly surges forward.

RUNNING SHOULDER TACKLE!

The collision catches Hans Trapp and knocks the larger man backward.

The crowd responds.

Hans Trapp looks toward his corner.

Knecht Ruprecht reaches.

Tag.

Johnny Michaels: “Running Knee Drop from Hans Trapp, but Comet fires back with the Shoulder Tackle and actually moves the bigger man.”

Eddie Ellington: “Briefly.”

Johnny Michaels: “It was still an impressive collision.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Hans Trapp immediately makes the intelligent decision. Fresh partner.”

Johnny Michaels:Knecht Ruprecht enters after only two minutes.”

Eddie Ellington: “That is called tag-team wrestling, Johnny. You should try watching some.”

Minute 3

Knecht Ruprecht enters.

Comet meets him.

Knecht Ruprecht raises one enormous hand.

OVERHEAD CHOP!

The strike crashes across Comet’s upper chest.

Comet recoils.

But when Knecht Ruprecht comes forward again, Comet spins sharply.

REINDEER KICK!

The Mule Kick catches Knecht Ruprecht across the body.

He stumbles.

Comet immediately reaches toward his corner.

Prancer tags in.

Johnny Michaels: “Overhead Chop from Knecht Ruprecht, Reindeer Kick from Comet, and the Coalition are already keeping the tags moving.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because Comet wanted no more of Knecht Ruprecht.”

Johnny Michaels: “Or because keeping a fresh wrestler involved is good strategy.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's what I said when Hans Trapp tagged.”

Johnny Michaels: “Yes, but with considerably less accusation.”

Eddie Ellington: “I support good strategy selectively.”

Minute 4

Prancer enters quickly.

Knecht Ruprecht immediately lowers his attention toward the legs.

He drives a heavy STOMP directly onto Prancer’s leg.

Prancer buckles.

Knecht Ruprecht stomps again near the knee before “Honest” Abe warns him to keep the attack legal.

Prancer pulls himself toward the ropes.

Johnny Michaels: “Immediate leg attack from Knecht Ruprecht. That is exactly how you slow Prancer down.”

Eddie Ellington: “Excellent.”

Johnny Michaels: “You have never sounded happier about somebody having their knee stepped on.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because it makes sense. Prancer wants to run, jump, kick and fly. Remove the leg.”

Johnny Michaels: “And suddenly the Reindeer Coalition loses much of its mobility.”

Eddie Ellington: “See? You understand the plan.”

Minute 5

Knecht Ruprecht goes back toward the same leg.

Another STOMP.

This time Prancer sees it.

He yanks the leg away and rolls underneath.

Knecht Ruprecht’s boot hits empty canvas.

Prancer gets up quickly.

Knecht Ruprecht reaches for him.

Prancer creates enough space to avoid being trapped.

Johnny Michaels: “Good adjustment by Prancer. He knew exactly what Knecht Ruprecht wanted and neutralized the second leg attack.”

Eddie Ellington: “Temporary inconvenience.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is an important defensive moment.”

Eddie Ellington: “Fine. He moved his leg.”

Johnny Michaels: “Which prevented further damage.”

Eddie Ellington: “I expect Knecht Ruprecht to remain emotionally strong after missing one stomp.”

Prancer reaches toward his corner.

Comet takes the tag.

Minute 6

Comet enters.

As he begins circling Knecht Ruprecht, Fenwick Grimbough suddenly steps closer to the apron.

He raises the thick rulebook over his head.

Fenwick Grimbough: “SECTION FOURTEEN! SUBSECTION THREE! THE PROPER APPLICATION OF CELESTIAL UNGULATE CONDUCT!”

Johnny Michaels: “What?”

Eddie Ellington: “Important rule.”

Johnny Michaels: “I am almost certain that does not exist.”

Fenwick Grimbough begins waving the book wildly.

Several loose pages flap through the air.

Comet looks toward him.

Fenwick Grimbough: “AND FURTHERMORE, THE AUTHORITIES OF 1897 CLEARLY ESTABLISHED—”

Comet: “What are you talking about?”

Knecht Ruprecht starts toward him.

Comet realizes the danger.

He drops underneath.

SUNSET FLIP!

He pulls Knecht Ruprecht backward and briefly folds him toward the canvas, but the larger man rolls through before “Honest” Abe can establish a meaningful count.

Comet immediately turns back toward Fenwick Grimbough.

He reaches through the ropes.

Fenwick hops backward.

Comet swings at empty air.

Knecht Ruprecht closes behind him.

Johnny Michaels:Fenwick Grimbough almost completely disrupted this minute!”

Eddie Ellington: “He was reading.”

Johnny Michaels: “He was screaming nonsense while waving a rulebook.”

Eddie Ellington: “I heard several excellent citations.”

Johnny Michaels:Comet allowed himself to become distracted and then made it worse by trying to get at Fenwick.”

Eddie Ellington: “Personal responsibility. Never attack a librarian.”

Comet reaches his corner.

Prancer tags in.

Minute 7

Prancer comes through the ropes.

Knecht Ruprecht raises his hand for another OVERHEAD CHOP.

Prancer ducks underneath.

The chop misses.

Prancer hits the ropes.

REINDEER GORGE!

The Running Headbutt crashes into Knecht Ruprecht and sends him backward.

The crowd cheers.

Knecht Ruprecht drops toward his corner.

Hans Trapp reaches.

Tag.

At the same time, Prancer moves toward Comet.

Tag.

Johnny Michaels: “Excellent reversal by Prancer! He avoids the Overhead Chop and turns it directly into Reindeer Gorge.”

Eddie Ellington: “I did not enjoy that.”

Johnny Michaels:Knecht Ruprecht certainly didn't.”

Eddie Ellington: “One mistake. That's why the tag matters.”

Johnny Michaels: “And now both teams change.”

Eddie Ellington: “Good. Hans Trapp can restore order.”

Minute 8

Hans Trapp and Comet meet again.

The two initially hesitate.

Neither wants to overcommit.

Then Fenwick Grimbough begins moving around the outside of the ring.

Comet tries to ignore him.

He charges Hans Trapp.

RUNNING SHOULDER TACKLE!

The attack catches Hans Trapp and rocks him backward.

But as Comet rebounds near the ropes—

Fenwick Grimbough strikes.

A quick kick through the bottom rope catches Comet across the ankle.

Comet stumbles.

The referee does not see it.

Boos erupt.

Johnny Michaels:Fenwick Grimbough kicked him!”

Eddie Ellington: “I saw Comet trip.”

Johnny Michaels: “You saw a boot come through the ropes!”

Eddie Ellington: “Very crowded visual environment.”

Hans Trapp uses the opening to force Comet backward.

He reaches toward his corner.

Knecht Ruprecht tags in.

Comet escapes toward Prancer.

Tag.

Johnny Michaels: “That was blatant interference.”

Eddie Ellington: “No ruling from Honest Abe.”

Johnny Michaels: “Because he didn't see it.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then legally, we are discussing your imagination.”

Minute 9

Prancer enters quickly.

Knecht Ruprecht barely gets his hands up.

REINDEER KICK!

The Mule Kick lands cleanly.

Knecht Ruprecht stumbles backward.

He grabs the ropes and stays upright.

Johnny Michaels: “Clean Reindeer Kick from Prancer. Knecht Ruprecht could not defend against that one.”

Eddie Ellington: “He stayed standing.”

Johnny Michaels: “After taking the full impact.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. Toughness.”

Johnny Michaels: “You have transformed being kicked into evidence supporting Knecht Ruprecht.”

Eddie Ellington: “Good analysis recognizes opportunity everywhere.”

Minute 10

Knecht Ruprecht moves forward.

He drives the knee toward Prancer’s midsection.

Prancer turns his body away.

The DRIVING KNEE fails to land cleanly.

Prancer shoves Knecht Ruprecht backward before the larger man can reset.

Johnny Michaels: “Another good defensive read from Prancer. He neutralized that Driving Knee.”

Eddie Ellington: “He's becoming irritating.”

Johnny Michaels: “Because he keeps stopping your preferred team?”

Eddie Ellington: “Because he keeps moving.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is rather central to his offense.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which is precisely why someone should attack the leg again.”

Knecht Ruprecht reaches toward Hans Trapp.

Tag.

Minute 11

Hans Trapp comes inside.

He immediately tries to catch Prancer around the head.

FRONT FACELOCK!

But Prancer reacts quickly.

He drops his center of gravity, turns toward the trapped arm and slips free before Hans Trapp can settle the hold.

Both men separate.

Johnny Michaels:Prancer neutralizes the Front Facelock before Hans Trapp can establish control.”

Eddie Ellington: “He escaped one hold.”

Johnny Michaels: “After already stopping Knecht Ruprecht’s Driving Knee.”

Eddie Ellington: “Do not create a parade.”

Johnny Michaels: “The Reindeer Coalition are beginning to find defensive answers.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Hans Trapp recognizes he has a fresh partner available.”

Hans Trapp reaches backward.

Knecht Ruprecht tags in again.

Minute 12

Prancer sees Knecht Ruprecht entering.

He increases his movement immediately.

A quick sidestep.

A turn.

Then the REINDEER STRUT!

The unconventional rhythmic sequence catches Knecht Ruprecht trying to follow the movement and sends him off balance.

The crowd responds.

Johnny Michaels: “Reindeer Strut! Prancer completely disrupted Knecht Ruprecht’s positioning.”

Eddie Ellington: “I refuse to dignify something called the Reindeer Strut.”

Johnny Michaels: “It worked.”

Eddie Ellington: “So does slipping on ice. We don't name it.”

Johnny Michaels:Knecht Ruprecht tried to stop the movement and simply could not.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then I recommend striking him next time instead of watching the dance.”

Minute 13

Knecht Ruprecht tries exactly that.

He steps forward.

Prancer spins.

REINDEER KICK!

The Mule Kick catches Knecht Ruprecht hard.

The larger man tries to brace against the impact but cannot.

He drops toward his corner.

Hans Trapp reaches.

Tag.

Prancer immediately heads toward Comet.

Tag.

Johnny Michaels: “Another Reindeer Kick from Prancer, and now both teams change once again.”

Eddie Ellington: “Good.”

Johnny Michaels: “You wanted Knecht Ruprecht out.”

Eddie Ellington: “I wanted Hans Trapp in. There is a distinction.”

Johnny Michaels: “The Reindeer Coalition have created several good exchanges over the last few minutes.”

Eddie Ellington: “And now Hans Trapp is going to correct that.”

Minute 14

Comet enters.

Prancer remains beside him during the legal double-team window.

The Reindeer Coalition attack together.

Comet grabs Hans Trapp and stretches him across the body.

ABDOMINAL STRETCH!

Before Hans Trapp can fully fight free—

Prancer steps in.

REINDEER ONE TWO!

The Double Punch lands across Hans Trapp’s upper body.

The crowd erupts.

Hans Trapp powers his way out of the stretch.

He grabs Comet.

BODyslam!

Comet crashes into the canvas.

“Honest” Abe orders Prancer toward the apron.

Johnny Michaels: “Excellent tandem offense from the Reindeer Coalition, but Hans Trapp still finds the Bodyslam before the referee restores order.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. Two men attack him and Hans Trapp is still throwing people.”

Johnny Michaels: “The Abdominal Stretch and Reindeer One Two both landed.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Hans remained functional. That's the part worth remembering.”

Johnny Michaels: “The Coalition have another opportunity to combine their offense.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then Honest Abe should start checking watches.”

Minute 15

The Reindeer Coalition remain together for another legal exchange.

Comet moves toward the ropes.

Prancer positions himself near Hans Trapp.

Prancer jumps.

PRANCER'S PRANCE!

The Flying Enzuigiri catches Hans Trapp across the side of the head.

At the same moment, Comet climbs.

COMET'S CRASH!

The Top Rope Diving Headbutt lands across Hans Trapp’s upper body.

The crowd erupts.

But somehow Hans Trapp rises.

He catches Comet before Comet can move away.

TORTURE RACK!

Comet is lifted across the shoulders again.

Prancer is forced toward the apron by “Honest” Abe.

Comet struggles violently.

The hold does not last long enough to produce a submission attempt, but the damage is clear when Hans Trapp releases him.

Johnny Michaels: “What a sequence! Prancer's Prance, Comet's Crash, and Hans Trapp still gets up and catches Comet in another Torture Rack.”

Eddie Ellington: “There. That's why I picked this team.”

Johnny Michaels: “He absorbed two major attacks.”

Eddie Ellington: “And answered with a submission hold.”

Johnny Michaels: “The Reindeer Coalition have nevertheless done significant damage.”

Eddie Ellington: “Apparently not enough.”

Minute 16

Order is restored.

Hans Trapp remains legal with Comet.

Hans drives a heavy STOMP down across Comet’s body.

Comet recoils.

But when Hans Trapp advances—

RUNNING SHOULDER TACKLE!

Comet drives through him and knocks him backward.

Johnny Michaels: “Stomp from Hans Trapp, Shoulder Tackle from Comet. The Reindeer Coalition simply refuse to allow the larger team sustained control.”

Eddie Ellington: “They are being extremely inconvenient.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is generally the objective.”

Eddie Ellington: “I prefer opponents with manners.”

Johnny Michaels:Comet keeps finding that Shoulder Tackle.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then Hans Trapp should find a wall.”

Minute 17

Comet sees Hans Trapp off balance.

He climbs.

The crowd rises.

SHOOTING STAR PRESS!

Comet launches.

Hans Trapp rolls away.

Nobody home!

Comet crashes into the canvas.

Hans Trapp gets up immediately.

He grabs Comet.

Before the Reindeer Coalition member can recover—

Hans Trapp throws him through the ropes.

Comet crashes onto the arena floor.

“Honest” Abe begins counting.

One!

Two!

Comet begins moving.

Three!

Four!

Prancer shouts from the apron.

Five!

Comet reaches the barricade.

Six!

He pulls himself upright.

Seven!

Fenwick Grimbough moves closer.

“Honest” Abe points directly at him.

Fenwick freezes.

Eight!

Comet reaches the apron.

Nine!

He dives beneath the bottom rope.

The crowd erupts.

Johnny Michaels: “Back inside at nine! Hans Trapp reversed the Shooting Star Press and nearly won this by count-out.”

Eddie Ellington: “Nine is far too late.”

Johnny Michaels: “Nine is still legal.”

Eddie Ellington: “He was one second from failure.”

Johnny Michaels: “But he made it.”

Eddie Ellington: “Unfortunately.”

Minute 18

Comet barely gets upright.

Hans Trapp charges.

HARVEST REAPING!

The Running Big Boot crashes into Comet.

Comet is rocked backward.

But somehow he fires forward.

REINDEER GORGE!

The Running Headbutt catches Hans Trapp.

Both men stagger.

Hans Trapp reaches backward.

Knecht Ruprecht tags in.

Johnny Michaels: “Harvest Reaping lands, but Comet answers with Reindeer Gorge! Incredible resilience after nearly being counted out.”

Eddie Ellington: “He should have stayed down.”

Johnny Michaels: “Instead he came back inside and immediately absorbed a Running Big Boot.”

Eddie Ellington: “Precisely why staying outside had merit.”

Johnny Michaels: “But he still answered.”

Eddie Ellington: “And now a fresh Knecht Ruprecht is entering. Excellent.”

Minute 19

Knecht Ruprecht steps through.

He catches Comet immediately.

OVERHEAD CHOP!

The strike crashes across Comet’s chest.

Comet staggers.

Then charges.

REINDEER GORGE!

The Running Headbutt drives into Knecht Ruprecht.

Both men remain upright for a moment.

Then Knecht Ruprecht reaches toward his corner.

Hans Trapp tags back in.

Comet reaches Prancer.

Tag.

Johnny Michaels: “Another heavy exchange. Overhead Chop from Knecht Ruprecht, Reindeer Gorge from Comet, and both teams make the change.”

Eddie Ellington: “The Reindeer Coalition are exhausting themselves.”

Johnny Michaels: “So are Hans Trapp and Knecht Ruprecht.”

Eddie Ellington: “They're built for misery.”

Johnny Michaels: “I am not certain that is an official athletic category.”

Eddie Ellington: “It should be.”

Minute 20

Prancer enters quickly.

Comet remains beside him for the legal double-team window.

Prancer grabs Hans Trapp.

SHORT CLOTHESLINE!

The strike catches him across the upper chest.

Comet spins into position.

REINDEER KICK!

The Mule Kick lands into Hans Trapp’s body.

But Hans reaches through the assault.

He catches Prancer around the head.

FRONT FACELOCK!

Prancer immediately begins fighting the grip.

“Honest” Abe orders Comet toward the apron.

Johnny Michaels: “More combination offense from the Reindeer Coalition, but Hans Trapp grabs the Front Facelock and prevents Prancer from escaping cleanly.”

Eddie Ellington: “There. Slow them down.”

Johnny Michaels: “Short Clothesline and Reindeer Kick both landed.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Hans still has the legal man trapped.”

Johnny Michaels: “The Coalition are trying to overwhelm the larger wrestler through rapid combinations.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then Hans Trapp should make them regret every second.”

Minute 21

The Reindeer Coalition continue pressing.

Prancer slips free.

REINDEER STRUT!

The movement forces Hans Trapp to reposition.

Comet charges from the side during the legal exchange.

RUNNING SHOULDER TACKLE!

Hans Trapp rocks backward.

But he grabs Prancer before the smaller wrestler can escape.

BACKBREAKER!

Prancer is driven hard across the knee.

The referee finally forces Comet back outside.

Johnny Michaels: “Reindeer Strut, Shoulder Tackle, and somehow Hans Trapp still catches Prancer with the Backbreaker.”

Eddie Ellington: “That is what resilience looks like.”

Johnny Michaels: “He has been attacked by both men for consecutive minutes.”

Eddie Ellington: “And still found the most damaging move in the exchange.”

Johnny Michaels: “That Backbreaker could dramatically change Prancer’s mobility.”

Eddie Ellington: “Now you're appreciating the correct team.”

Minute 22

Prancer rises slowly.

Hans Trapp closes.

He gets Prancer across his shoulders.

TORTURE RACK!

The crowd immediately begins shouting.

Prancer kicks desperately.

Hans Trapp pulls down across the back.

“Honest” Abe asks whether Prancer submits.

Prancer refuses.

Comet reaches as far over the top rope as possible.

Hans Trapp carries Prancer away from the corner.

The hold tightens.

Prancer continues fighting.

His movement becomes slower.

Then he manages to twist enough to disrupt the balance.

Hans Trapp releases before losing control.

Prancer falls to the canvas.

Hans Trapp reaches toward his corner.

Knecht Ruprecht takes the tag.

Johnny Michaels: “Torture Rack on Prancer now! Hans Trapp has attacked both members of the Reindeer Coalition with that hold tonight.”

Eddie Ellington: “And neither one looked comfortable.”

Johnny Michaels:Prancer refused to submit.”

Eddie Ellington: “For now.”

Johnny Michaels: “He survived long enough to force the release.”

Eddie Ellington: “And now he gets Knecht Ruprecht. Terrific reward.”

Minute 23

Knecht Ruprecht enters.

Prancer immediately reaches toward Comet.

The Reindeer Coalition try another tandem attack.

REINDEER ONE TWO!

Prancer’s Double Punch catches Knecht Ruprecht.

Comet follows.

REINDEER KICK!

The Mule Kick strikes the larger man across the body.

But Knecht Ruprecht catches Prancer’s leg during the scramble.

He twists sharply.

LEG TWIST!

Prancer drops and grabs at the knee.

Johnny Michaels: “The Coalition attack together again, but Knecht Ruprecht finds the leg and twists it underneath Prancer.”

Eddie Ellington: “Finally.”

Johnny Michaels: “Back to the leg they attacked in the fourth minute.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. Good teams remember damage.”

Johnny Michaels:Prancer may have compounded that earlier injury.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then all that prancing becomes considerably less practical.”

Minute 24

Prancer struggles near the canvas.

Comet comes in during another legal tandem opportunity.

He heads immediately toward the ropes.

Knecht Ruprecht stays on Prancer’s damaged leg.

LEG GRAPEVINE!

He traps the limb and twists.

Prancer cannot contribute to the attack.

But Comet is already airborne.

COMET'S CRASH!

The Top Rope Diving Headbutt crashes across Knecht Ruprecht.

The hold breaks.

All three men are down.

“Honest” Abe forces Comet back toward his corner once the legal window expires.

Johnny Michaels: “Comet's Crash lands while Knecht Ruprecht was attacking Prancer’s leg with that Grapevine!”

Eddie Ellington: “That was two against one.”

Johnny Michaels: “Legal tag-team offense.”

Eddie Ellington: “You become remarkably tolerant of numbers when the reindeer are doing it.”

Johnny Michaels: “And Knecht Ruprecht nearly had Prancer’s knee completely immobilized.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which is why Comet panicked.”

Minute 25

Knecht Ruprecht gets back up.

He immediately reaches toward Hans Trapp.

Tag.

For the first time, the larger team attacks together.

Knecht Ruprecht raises one enormous hand.

OVERHEAD CHOP!

The strike crashes into Prancer.

Hans Trapp catches him immediately afterward.

He hooks him.

PILEDRIVER!

Prancer is driven into the canvas.

The crowd reacts sharply.

But Prancer fires desperately as he tries to escape.

REINDEER ONE TWO!

The Double Punch catches both men in the scramble and creates enough separation for “Honest” Abe to restore order.

Johnny Michaels: “Overhead Chop and Piledriver! That may be the most dangerous tandem sequence Hans Trapp and Knecht Ruprecht have produced tonight.”

Eddie Ellington: “Beautiful.”

Johnny Michaels:Prancer somehow responds with the Reindeer One Two.”

Eddie Ellington: “Instinct.”

Johnny Michaels: “He is still fighting.”

Eddie Ellington: “He is surviving. There is a difference.”

Minute 26

Order returns with Knecht Ruprecht and Prancer legal.

Knecht Ruprecht drives forward.

DRIVING KNEE TO MIDSECTION!

The knee catches Prancer cleanly and folds him forward.

But Prancer springs out of the ropes.

PULL THE REIGNS CLOTHESLINE!

The strike catches Knecht Ruprecht across the upper chest.

Both men stagger.

Prancer immediately turns.

Comet is reaching.

Tag.

The crowd rises.

Johnny Michaels: “Driving Knee from Knecht Ruprecht, Pull the Reigns Clothesline from Prancer, and Prancer finally gets to Comet.”

Eddie Ellington: “I don't like this tag.”

Johnny Michaels: “Because Comet is fresher.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because Knecht Ruprecht should have stopped it.”

Johnny Michaels: “Twenty-six minutes of punishment is beginning to matter for everyone.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then Knecht Ruprecht needs one good move.”

Minute 27

Comet explodes through the ropes.

Knecht Ruprecht turns.

Too slowly.

Comet accelerates.

RUNNING SHOULDER TACKLE!

The impact catches Knecht Ruprecht squarely and drives him backward into the canvas.

Comet does not hesitate.

He drops across him.

Hooks the leg.

“Honest” Abe slides into position.

One!

Eddie Ellington: “Get up.”

Two!

Hans Trapp starts through the ropes.

Prancer intercepts him.

Three!

The bell rings.

The crowd erupts.

Eddie Ellington: “NO!”

Johnny Michaels: “They got him! Comet pins Knecht Ruprecht!”

Eddie Ellington: “With a Shoulder Tackle?!”

Johnny Michaels: “After twenty-seven exhausting minutes, yes!”

Eddie Ellington:Knecht Ruprecht spent that match chopping people, twisting legs, stomping knees, and surviving aerial assaults, and you're telling me a Shoulder Tackle ends it?”

Johnny Michaels: “It ended it because Knecht Ruprecht had been through twenty-seven minutes of punishment.”

Eddie Ellington: “I reject accumulated fatigue.”

Johnny Michaels: “You cannot reject physiology.”

Eddie Ellington: “I can when it inconveniences me.”

Celeste Orion raises the microphone.

Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winners by pinfall... COMET and PRANCER... the REINDEER COALITION!”

The crowd cheers loudly.

Comet gets back to his feet.

Prancer joins him.

The damaged leg is clearly bothering Prancer, but he raises one arm anyway.

“Honest” Abe lifts both men's hands.

At ringside, Fenwick Grimbough looks horrified.

Then confused.

Then furious.

He immediately opens the rulebook.

Pages begin flying.

Fenwick Grimbough: “OBJECTION!”

Johnny Michaels: “Of course.”

Eddie Ellington: “Finally, somebody sensible.”

Fenwick Grimbough: “THE SHOULDER IS NOT A NATURALLY OCCURRING COUNTING INSTRUMENT!”

Johnny Michaels: “That cannot possibly be relevant.”

Fenwick Grimbough: “I HAVE PRECEDENT!”

Eddie Ellington: “Let's hear him.”

Johnny Michaels: “No.”

Inside the ring, Hans Trapp kneels beside Knecht Ruprecht.

The larger man is already beginning to sit up.

His expression immediately turns angry.

Hans Trapp looks toward the celebrating Reindeer Coalition.

Then toward “Honest” Abe.

Knecht Ruprecht gets to one knee.

He stares directly at Comet.

Johnny Michaels: “And look at Knecht Ruprecht. He cannot believe it.”

Eddie Ellington: “Neither can I.”

Johnny Michaels: “The Reindeer Coalition survived the Torture Rack on both men, repeated interference from Fenwick Grimbough, sustained attacks to Prancer’s leg, and some extremely heavy tandem offense late.”

Eddie Ellington: “And meanwhile, who spent much of the match controlling the pace?”

Johnny Michaels: “There were stretches where Hans Trapp and Knecht Ruprecht absolutely dictated the action.”

Eddie Ellington: “Who nearly had Comet counted out?”

Johnny Michaels:Hans Trapp.”

Eddie Ellington: “Who had Prancer trapped in the Torture Rack?”

Johnny Michaels: “Also Hans Trapp.”

Eddie Ellington: “Who repeatedly attacked Prancer’s leg?”

Johnny Michaels:Knecht Ruprecht.”

Eddie Ellington: “Thank you. I rest my case.”

Johnny Michaels: “Your case ends with them losing.”

Eddie Ellington: “Technicality.”

The Reindeer Coalition climb onto opposite turnbuckles.

Comet raises both arms.

Prancer lifts one while keeping some weight off the damaged leg.

The crowd cheers.

Outside the ring, Fenwick Grimbough is still furiously flipping through his rulebook.

Hans Trapp helps Knecht Ruprecht upright.

Neither leaves.

Their eyes remain fixed on the winners.

Johnny Michaels: “For the Reindeer Coalition, this is a significant victory. They were forced to wrestle a completely different kind of match tonight. They could not simply rely on speed. They had to survive submissions, leg attacks, physical isolation and repeated attempts by Fenwick Grimbough to disrupt their concentration.”

Eddie Ellington: “And they got fortunate.”

Johnny Michaels: “They endured.”

Eddie Ellington: “Fortunate endurance.”

Johnny Michaels: “And when Prancer finally created the opening for the tag, Comet entered fresh enough to drive through Knecht Ruprecht and secure the fall.”

Eddie Ellington: “One Shoulder Tackle.”

Johnny Michaels: “One decisive Shoulder Tackle after twenty-seven minutes.”

Eddie Ellington: “You keep adding context because the ending embarrasses your argument.”

Johnny Michaels: “Context is the argument.”

The camera alternates between the two teams.

Inside the ring—

Comet and Prancer celebrating.

At ringside—

Hans Trapp.

Knecht Ruprecht.

And Fenwick Grimbough, still apparently searching for a regulation capable of reversing the result.

Johnny Michaels: “The Reindeer Coalition leave with the victory.”

Eddie Ellington: “For tonight.”

Johnny Michaels: “You believe this is not finished.”

Eddie Ellington: “Look at Hans Trapp and Knecht Ruprecht.”

The camera does exactly that.

Neither man looks remotely satisfied.

Eddie Ellington: “Does that look finished?”

Johnny Michaels: “No.”

A pause.

Johnny Michaels: “But it does look decided.”

THE REINDEER COALITION DEFEAT HANS TRAPP AND KNECHT RUPRECHT VIA PINFALL WHEN COMET PINS KNECHT RUPRECHT WITH A RUNNING SHOULDER TACKLE AT THE 27:00 MINUTE MARK.

THE HOUSE OF NIGHT

The broadcast cuts backstage.

The usual Polar Power interview position is almost unrecognizable.

The blue-white NPCW backdrop remains against the wall, but most of the overhead lighting has been switched off.

Only a few dim pools of midnight blue illumination remain.

A cluster of tall black candles has been arranged along a nearby production crate.

Their flames barely move.

Standing at the center of the strange tableau is Smooth Samantha Satin.

Microphone in hand.

Normally polished.

Normally entirely comfortable controlling an interview.

Tonight, there is a stiffness in her posture that immediately feels different.

Because surrounding her is the House of Night.

To her right stand the Crimson Maulers.

Brakk Bloodmaw.

Vereyk Nightclaw.

Both enormous men remain completely silent.

Behind them stands Dr. Violetta Voss, dressed immaculately, hands folded loosely in front of her.

Her expression is calm.

Almost amused.

Beside her is Count Daculescu.

Dark formal coat.

Perfect posture.

The same unreadable composure he brings everywhere.

And directly beside Smooth Samantha stands the man who commands all of them.

The Master of the Night.

Black and midnight blue.

Mask concealing most of his face.

The faint suggestion of a smile beneath it.

The camera moves closer.

For several seconds, nobody speaks.

Smooth Samantha glances toward The Master of the Night.

He is already looking at her.

Not aggressively.

Not obviously.

Simply watching.

She hesitates.

Only for a fraction of a second.

Then—

Smooth Samantha: “I am joined by the full House of Night.”

Her eyes remain on The Master of the Night slightly longer than they should.

Smooth Samantha: “Last week, you made it clear that this group is not simply an alliance.”

A pause.

Smooth Samantha: “You called it something permanent.”

The Master of the Night slowly turns toward the camera.

The Master of the Night: “A house is not built for one evening.”

His voice is quiet.

Measured.

The Master of the Night: “It is built to remain.”

A beat.

The Master of the Night: “Storms come.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “Kings fall.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “Champions change.”

His head turns slightly toward Smooth Samantha.

The Master of the Night: “But the house…”

A faint smile.

The Master of the Night: “…stands.”

Smooth Samantha nods.

Slowly.

Almost unconsciously.

Smooth Samantha: “And you believe the House of Night will stand over NPCW.”

The Master of the Night: “Believe?”

He tilts his head.

The Master of the Night: “No.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “Belief is for those who still require reassurance.”

He looks directly into the camera.

The Master of the Night: “I know.”

Behind him, Count Daculescu smiles faintly.

The Master of the Night: “NPCW is divided into little territories.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “Championships.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “Factions.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “Families.”

His voice softens.

The Master of the Night: “Everybody desperately protecting some small piece of the world and convincing themselves that ownership means safety.”

A quiet chuckle.

The Master of the Night: “It does not.”

He gestures toward the men standing nearby.

The Master of the Night: “The Crimson Maulers understand this.”

Brakk Bloodmaw steps half a pace forward.

Vereyk Nightclaw joins him.

The Master of the Night: “Look at your Universal Tag Team Champions.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night:Varak.”

Another.

The Master of the Night:Karnyx.”

A faint smile.

The Master of the Night: “The Ultimate Beasts.”

His eyes move toward Brakk Bloodmaw and Vereyk Nightclaw.

The Master of the Night: “Powerful.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “Savage.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “Proud.”

He looks back toward the camera.

The Master of the Night: “And temporary.”

Brakk Bloodmaw finally speaks.

His voice is low and rough.

Brakk Bloodmaw: “We take the belts.”

Vereyk Nightclaw: “Then we take everyone who comes for them.”

The Master of the Night gives the smallest approving nod.

The Master of the Night: “Precisely.”

Smooth Samantha turns toward the two Maulers.

Smooth Samantha: “You are saying the Crimson Maulers intend to challenge for the Universal Tag Team Championship.”

Count Daculescu: “Intend?”

He smiles.

Count Daculescu: “My dear, you continue using such uncertain words.”

Smooth Samantha looks toward him.

Then back toward The Master of the Night.

Her expression seems momentarily unfocused.

Smooth Samantha: “They will take them.”

A silence follows.

It is subtle.

But Smooth Samantha appears surprised by her own wording.

She blinks.

Dr. Violetta Voss notices.

A small smile touches the corner of her mouth.

The Master of the Night turns his eyes back toward Smooth Samantha.

The Master of the Night: “You learn quickly.”

For a moment, she simply looks at him.

The camera tightens slightly.

Then Smooth Samantha straightens.

Smooth Samantha: “And the Queen of the North Championship.”

That breaks the moment.

She turns toward Dr. Violetta Voss.

Smooth Samantha: “Earlier tonight, Polly Mason spoke about you specifically.”

The smile disappears from Dr. Violetta Voss.

Not because she is angry.

Because she is interested.

Smooth Samantha: “She acknowledged that you defeated her at Fallout.”

A pause.

Smooth Samantha: “And she said that someday she wants that match again.”

Dr. Violetta Voss: “Someday?”

A soft laugh.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “How generous.”

She steps forward.

Dr. Violetta Voss:Polly Mason has always had an interesting relationship with time.”

A pause.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “She speaks of the past as though surviving it makes her its master.”

Another.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “She speaks of the future as though wanting something guarantees she will reach it.”

Her eyes sharpen.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “And now she wears a championship and believes it represents another completed chapter.”

A faint smile.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “It does not.”

Smooth Samantha: “You believe you can defeat her again.”

Dr. Violetta Voss: “I do not believe it.”

The same language.

The same cadence.

She glances toward The Master of the Night.

Then back.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “I have already done it.”

A pause.

Dr. Violetta Voss:Polly Mason may call herself Queen of the North.”

Another.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “But queens are still patients when they lie on my table.”

The crowd inside the arena can be heard booing through the backstage feed.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “When the opportunity comes…”

She smiles.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “…I will take the Queen of the North Championship.”

Smooth Samantha: “And if Lilith exercises her rematch first?”

Dr. Violetta Voss: “Then I will wait.”

A pause.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “Doctors are patient.”

Another smile.

Dr. Violetta Voss: “Eventually everyone comes back.”

Smooth Samantha turns toward The Master of the Night again.

His eyes find hers immediately.

Her next question comes more slowly.

Smooth Samantha: “Then what about you?”

A pause.

Smooth Samantha: “If the Crimson Maulers want the Universal Tag Team Championship…”

Another.

Smooth Samantha: “…and Dr. Violetta Voss wants the Queen of the North Championship…”

Her voice softens slightly.

Smooth Samantha: “…what do you want?”

The room becomes very still.

The Master of the Night looks at her.

Then toward the camera.

The Master of the Night: “Nothing so small.”

Smooth Samantha blinks.

Smooth Samantha: “No championship?”

The Master of the Night: “Gold is useful.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “It establishes rank.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “It inspires envy.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “It gives lesser people something tangible to chase.”

His tone darkens.

The Master of the Night: “But I am not hunting a championship.”

A silence.

Smooth Samantha: “Then what are you hunting?”

The smile beneath the mask becomes more visible.

The Master of the Night: “A symbol.”

The crowd reacts immediately.

He waits.

Lets the word settle.

The Master of the Night: “For decades, the North has taught itself to believe in one figure.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “One presence.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “One smiling promise that no matter how cold the night becomes…”

His eyes narrow.

The Master of the Night: “…there will always be morning.”

A faint chuckle.

The Master of the Night:Santa Claus.”

The crowd erupts.

Smooth Samantha looks toward him.

Her breathing seems slightly slower now.

The Master of the Night: “Others want to defeat him.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night:Infernus Rex defeated him Tuesday.”

The smile widens.

The Master of the Night: “Impressive.”

Another pause.

The Master of the Night: “But victory is not what interests me.”

His voice drops.

The Master of the Night: “I want the symbol.”

A beat.

The Master of the Night: “I want every childlike certainty.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “Every comforting story.”

Another.

The Master of the Night: “Every foolish little belief that says if Santa Claus still stands, then the North is safe.”

He steps closer to the camera.

The Master of the Night: “I will take that belief.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “And I will end Santa Claus.”

The crowd boos loudly.

Smooth Samantha should immediately respond.

She does not.

She stares at him.

The microphone has lowered slightly in her hand.

The Master of the Night notices.

He turns toward her.

His voice becomes softer.

The Master of the Night: “Do you understand, Samantha?”

She nods once.

Slowly.

Smooth Samantha: “Yes.”

Another moment.

Then she blinks.

Her expression shifts.

She raises the microphone again.

Smooth Samantha: “There is someone else whose name remains connected to the House of Night.”

The smile beneath the mask freezes.

Smooth Samantha:Edie Mason.”

The atmosphere changes instantly.

Count Daculescu looks toward The Master of the Night.

Dr. Violetta Voss watches carefully.

The Crimson Maulers remain motionless.

Smooth Samantha: “The last time this conflict escalated, Edie was used repeatedly to get inside Jack Mason’s head.”

A pause.

Smooth Samantha: “We have been told she is safe.”

Another.

Smooth Samantha: “Is Edie Mason still part of your plans?”

Silence.

Then The Master of the Night smiles.

Slowly.

The Master of the Night: “Ah…”

A quiet laugh.

The Master of the Night: “…yes.”

He tilts his head.

The Master of the Night: “The delicious Edie.”

The crowd reaction becomes immediate and hostile.

Smooth Samantha’s expression tightens.

The Master of the Night: “I hear Mistress Edie is safe.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “Far away from me.”

He gives a soft, mocking snicker.

The Master of the Night: “How reassuring.”

A voice comes from off camera.

Mr. Mason: “That's enough.”

The entire room changes.

The camera turns.

Mr. Mason is standing at the edge of the interview area.

No smile.

No theatrics.

His eyes are fixed directly on The Master of the Night.

The crowd inside North Pole Arena erupts.

Smooth Samantha turns sharply toward him.

For the first time since the interview began, the strange softness in her expression disappears completely.

Mr. Mason walks into the set.

The Crimson Maulers immediately step forward.

Brakk Bloodmaw on one side.

Vereyk Nightclaw on the other.

Count Daculescu raises one hand.

They stop.

The Master of the Night never takes his eyes from Mr. Mason.

Mr. Mason: “You want me?”

A pause.

Mr. Mason: “I'm standing right here.”

Another.

Mr. Mason: “You want another fight?”

He takes another step.

Mr. Mason: “Take it.”

His expression hardens.

Mr. Mason: “But you leave Edie alone.”

A beat.

Mr. Mason: “No more messages.”

Another.

Mr. Mason: “No more pictures.”

Another.

Mr. Mason: “No more using my wife because you think it's the easiest way to make me lose my mind.”

The Master’s smile slowly grows.

Mr. Mason: “You hear me?”

A pause.

Mr. Mason: “We are not finished.”

The crowd cheers.

Mr. Mason: “You and me.”

Another.

Mr. Mason: “Not finished.”

The Master of the Night gives a quiet laugh.

The Master of the Night: “Oh, Jack.”

That name sharpens Mr. Mason’s expression.

The Master of the Night: “Still knocking at my door.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “Still demanding answers from the darkness.”

He steps forward.

The Crimson Maulers remain close.

Dr. Violetta Voss watches with obvious interest.

The Master of the Night: “You told me last week that class was not dismissed.”

A faint smile.

The Master of the Night: “I was delighted.”

Mr. Mason: “Keep smiling.”

The Master of the Night: “Why wouldn't I?”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “A teacher should always welcome an eager student.”

The crowd boos.

Mr. Mason’s fists close.

The Master of the Night notices.

The Master of the Night: “Careful.”

Another soft laugh.

The Master of the Night: “Your new coach has been working so hard on that temper.”

That lands.

Mr. Mason does not move.

The Master of the Night: “Good.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “Perhaps you are learning.”

Mr. Mason: “Leave Edie out of this.”

The smile vanishes for only a fraction of a second.

Then returns.

The Master of the Night: “Very well.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “I shall be a good neighbour.”

The crowd reacts to the deliberate mockery.

Mr. Mason’s jaw tightens.

The Master of the Night: “And if you find yourself requiring another lesson…”

He spreads one hand toward the surrounding House.

The Master of the Night: “…my home will always offer hospitality.”

A beat.

The Master of the Night: “You know that, don't you?”

He leans slightly closer.

The Master of the Night: “You are always welcome.”

Another smile.

The Master of the Night: “Come in.”

Mr. Mason: “Keep mocking me.”

The smile on The Master of the Night widens.

Mr. Mason: “Keep talking about neighbours.”

A pause.

Mr. Mason: “Keep talking about lessons.”

Another.

Mr. Mason: “Because sooner or later, you're going to learn something too.”

The Master of the Night: “And what is that?”

Mr. Mason steps forward until only a few feet separate them.

The Crimson Maulers tense.

Count Daculescu watches.

Nobody moves.

Mr. Mason: “Some houses should be condemned.”

The crowd erupts.

The smile disappears from beneath the mask.

Not completely.

But enough.

Mr. Mason: “And I'm going to enjoy tearing yours down.”

Silence.

For several seconds, the two men simply stare at one another.

Then The Master of the Night gives the smallest nod.

Almost appreciative.

The Master of the Night: “There.”

A pause.

The Master of the Night: “That is the student I remember.”

Mr. Mason: “You'll remember me.”

The two remain face-to-face.

Behind Mr. Mason, Smooth Samantha watches.

She looks briefly toward The Master of the Night again.

For a split second, that same distant fascination threatens to return.

Then Mr. Mason’s voice cuts through it.

Mr. Mason: “Samantha.”

She looks toward him.

Immediate.

Alert.

Mr. Mason: “You all right?”

A small pause.

Smooth Samantha glances back toward The Master of the Night.

Then takes one deliberate step away from him.

Smooth Samantha: “I'm fine.”

Her voice is firmer now.

The Master of the Night chuckles quietly.

Count Daculescu steps beside him.

Dr. Violetta Voss joins the formation.

The Crimson Maulers close in behind them.

The House of Night now stands as a single wall.

Across from them—

Mr. Mason.

Alone.

But unmoving.

The Master of the Night: “Until the next lesson, neighbour.”

Mr. Mason: “Count on it.”

The camera holds on the confrontation.

The Master of the Night at the center of the House.

Mr. Mason staring directly through him.

Smooth Samantha now several steps removed from the group, one hand tightening around the microphone.

No one attacks.

Not tonight.

But nobody mistakes restraint for peace.

The broadcast cuts away.

MATCH 4

The broadcast returns live to North Pole Arena.

Inside the ring, “Honest” Abe checks the ropes before walking toward the timekeeper’s side of the ring.

At ringside, Johnny “The Mic” Michaels looks down at his notes.

Beside him, Eddie Ellington already appears considerably more satisfied with the next matchup.

Johnny Michaels: “Singles competition is next, and this is a significant non-title opportunity for Lyric Everfrost. He faces the reigning North Pole Champion, Grondar the Revenant, accompanied by Magnus Blackwell.”

Eddie Ellington: “Let me correct that wording. This is a significant opportunity for Lyric Everfrost to discover why Grondar is the North Pole Champion.”

Johnny Michaels: “You are firmly in the champion's corner.”

Eddie Ellington: “Of course I am. Grondar survived the four-way championship match at Fallout, walked out with his title, and continues proving that everybody who thinks they can solve him eventually discovers the same problem.”

Johnny Michaels: “Tonight the championship is not at stake.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which is fortunate for Lyric. Losing hurts considerably less when you were never getting a belt anyway.”

The lighting around the entrance stage turns bright icy blue.

A delicate opening melody gives way to a faster rhythm.

Silver-white illumination sweeps across the stage.

The crowd responds warmly as Lyric Everfrost steps through the curtain.

He pauses beneath the lights.

Raises one arm.

Then looks directly toward the ring.

There is considerably less lightness in his demeanor than usual.

Johnny Michaels: “Last week was a difficult night for Lyric Everfrost. He went twenty-two minutes against The Master of the Night, survived repeated submissions and extraordinary punishment, but ultimately fell to the Impaler.”

Eddie Ellington: “And now somebody scheduled him against Grondar the Revenant.”

A pause.

Eddie Ellington: “Has anyone checked whether Lyric owes somebody money?”

Johnny Michaels: “He showed tremendous resilience last week.”

Eddie Ellington: “Wonderful. Resilience means you remain conscious longer while Grondar hits you.”

Johnny Michaels: “And this is also an opportunity to rebound in the biggest possible way. Defeating the North Pole Champion, even in a non-title match, would immediately elevate Lyric Everfrost.”

Eddie Ellington: “Yes, and climbing Everest would improve my cardiovascular health. Neither is occurring tonight.”

Lyric Everfrost begins down the aisle.

He slaps several hands along the barricade.

His attention quickly shifts back toward the ring.

He reaches ringside.

Jumps onto the apron.

Steps through the ropes.

Lyric moves to the middle turnbuckle and raises one arm.

The crowd responds again.

He drops back to the canvas.

Looks toward the entrance.

His music fades.

The arena lighting dies.

A low industrial rumble begins.

Blue-white fog rolls across the entrance stage.

Heavy drums strike beneath a grinding metallic rhythm.

Then Magnus Blackwell steps through the curtain.

The crowd immediately boos.

Tailored dark suit.

Long black winter coat.

Cane in one gloved hand.

He pauses beneath the cold lighting.

Looks toward Lyric Everfrost.

Then turns.

The fog thickens.

Grondar the Revenant emerges.

The North Pole Championship rests over one enormous shoulder.

The reaction becomes louder.

Grondar stops beside Magnus Blackwell.

No acknowledgment of the crowd.

No raised fist.

No theatrics.

He simply looks toward Lyric Everfrost.

Eddie Ellington: “There is your champion.”

Johnny Michaels: “And there is no mistaking the difference in atmosphere when Grondar the Revenant enters an arena.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because everybody understands consequences.”

Johnny Michaels: “He has been extraordinarily difficult to dislodge since capturing that championship.”

Eddie Ellington: “Not difficult. Impossible so far.”

Johnny Michaels: “There is a distinction.”

Eddie Ellington: “Champions do not care about your distinctions. They care whether someone took the belt.”

Magnus Blackwell begins walking down the aisle.

Grondar the Revenant follows.

The North Pole Championship remains balanced on his shoulder.

Johnny Michaels: “And one cannot ignore Magnus Blackwell. Whatever anyone thinks of his methods, he has been extraordinarily effective at identifying opportunities for the people he manages.”

Eddie Ellington: “Finally, appropriate respect.”

Johnny Michaels: “I did not say I approve of every method.”

Eddie Ellington: “You always ruin the compliment.”

The pair reaches ringside.

Magnus Blackwell stops on the floor.

Grondar the Revenant climbs onto the apron.

He steps over the top rope.

The crowd boos as he walks directly toward Lyric Everfrost.

Lyric does not back away.

“Honest” Abe quickly steps between them.

Grondar removes the North Pole Championship from his shoulder.

He raises it once.

Then hands it through the ropes to the ringside attendant.

Johnny Michaels: “Again, the championship is not on the line tonight, but Lyric Everfrost has an opportunity to defeat the champion.”

Eddie Ellington: “You have mentioned that possibility several times as though repetition makes it more plausible.”

Celeste Orion enters with microphone in hand.

Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following singles contest is scheduled for one fall with a thirty-minute time limit and is a NON-TITLE MATCH!”

The crowd cheers.

Celeste Orion: “Introducing first... LYRIC EVERFROST!”

Lyric Everfrost raises one arm.

A strong ovation fills the arena.

Celeste Orion turns toward the champion.

Celeste Orion: “And his opponent, accompanied to the ring by MAGNUS BLACKWELL... he is the reigning NORTH POLE CHAMPION... GRONDAR THE REVENANT!”

The boos rise.

Grondar the Revenant slowly raises his chin.

At ringside, Magnus Blackwell gives a small approving nod.

Eddie Ellington: “Listen to that introduction.”

Johnny Michaels: “You sound proud and you don't manage him.”

Eddie Ellington: “I appreciate excellence wherever I find it.”

Celeste Orion exits.

“Honest” Abe gives both competitors their final instructions.

Then turns toward Magnus Blackwell.

The referee points firmly toward the floor and warns him not to become involved.

Magnus Blackwell places one hand over his heart as though deeply insulted.

Eddie Ellington: “Completely unnecessary.”

Johnny Michaels: “Entirely necessary.”

Eddie Ellington: “The man is carrying a cane because walking in this weather is treacherous.”

Johnny Michaels: “We have seen him use that cane for considerably more than walking.”

Eddie Ellington: “Allegations.”

The referee signals.

The bell rings.

Minute 1

Lyric Everfrost moves immediately.

He slips around Grondar the Revenant before the champion can establish his base.

Lyric reaches around the waist and tries to pull Grondar backward into a Backbreaker position.

Grondar recognizes it.

He widens his stance.

Hooks one arm around the ropes for leverage.

Then turns sharply and forces Lyric away.

The Backbreaker never develops.

Grondar remains standing.

Lyric circles again.

Johnny Michaels: “Good idea from Lyric Everfrost, trying to attack the back immediately, but Grondar completely neutralized the Backbreaker.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because you don't simply walk into the ring and start moving the North Pole Champion wherever you please.”

Johnny Michaels:Lyric tried to establish a target before Grondar could impose his power.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Grondar informed him that permission was denied.”

Minute 2

The two men lock up.

Grondar the Revenant breaks first.

SIDE KICK!

The boot crashes into Lyric Everfrost’s ribs and forces him backward.

Grondar advances.

Lyric catches him.

ATOMIC DROP!

The champion is jolted forward.

He reaches toward the ropes but stays upright.

Lyric tries to follow.

Grondar turns immediately.

Both men reset.

Johnny Michaels: “Side Kick from Grondar, Atomic Drop from Lyric Everfrost. Now the challenger in this non-title setting has finally moved the champion.”

Eddie Ellington: “Briefly.”

Johnny Michaels: “The Atomic Drop landed cleanly.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Grondar remained standing. That is the important part.”

Johnny Michaels:Lyric cannot allow the champion to dictate every exchange.”

Eddie Ellington: “He won't have much choice.”

Minute 3

Lyric Everfrost moves in again.

He tries to get around Grondar the Revenant and reach for the legs.

Lyric begins turning him toward the Sharpshooter.

But Grondar powers free before the legs can be crossed.

He catches Lyric around the body.

Lifts.

THE AFTERMATH!

The Jackhammer drives Lyric Everfrost violently into the canvas.

The crowd reacts sharply.

Lyric rolls toward one side of the ring.

Johnny Michaels: “The Aftermath! Lyric Everfrost tried to transition toward the Sharpshooter, but Grondar powered free and immediately hit the Jackhammer.”

Eddie Ellington: “There is your lesson.”

Johnny Michaels: “That completely changed the exchange.”

Eddie Ellington: “You do not reach casually for Grondar's legs. He is stronger than you, he is heavier than you, and if you are underneath him when he decides to lift, your evening becomes extremely short.”

Johnny Michaels:Lyric has already absorbed one of the champion’s major weapons.”

Minute 4

Lyric Everfrost gets back to his feet.

Grondar the Revenant approaches.

This time Lyric anticipates the forward pressure.

He slips around the champion.

Hooks the body.

BACKBREAKER!

Grondar is driven hard across Lyric’s knee.

The crowd erupts.

The champion rolls away.

Johnny Michaels: “There it is! Lyric Everfrost could not get the Backbreaker in the first minute, but this time he catches Grondar cleanly.”

Eddie Ellington: “One successful adjustment.”

Johnny Michaels: “A significant one.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then enjoy it. Grondar is already moving.”

Johnny Michaels: “But Lyric now knows he can affect the champion’s back.”

Eddie Ellington: “He also knows what happened immediately after he tried something clever in the third minute.”

Minute 5

Lyric Everfrost stays aggressive.

He catches Grondar the Revenant before the champion can completely reset.

VERTICAL SUPLEX!

The crowd reacts as Lyric gets the North Pole Champion over.

Grondar hits hard.

At ringside, Magnus Blackwell begins applauding slowly.

Deliberately.

Mockingly.

Lyric Everfrost looks toward him.

Magnus Blackwell: “Marvelous.”

A smile.

Magnus Blackwell: “Perhaps we'll put that on your participation certificate.”

Lyric turns toward him.

Magnus Blackwell: “Or is surviving last week still the great achievement?”

The smile disappears from Lyric’s face.

Johnny Michaels: “There is Magnus Blackwell immediately trying to get inside Lyric Everfrost’s head.”

Eddie Ellington: “He offered feedback.”

Johnny Michaels: “He mocked Lyric’s loss last week.”

Eddie Ellington: “Accurate feedback.”

Johnny Michaels: “And look at Lyric. Instead of staying on Grondar, he is arguing with Magnus Blackwell.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then perhaps Lyric should develop thicker skin.”

Minute 6

The distraction costs him.

Lyric Everfrost turns back toward the champion.

Grondar the Revenant is already moving.

EUROPEAN UPPERCUT!

The strike snaps Lyric’s head backward.

He tries to raise his guard but cannot get it into position quickly enough.

Lyric falls toward the ropes.

Johnny Michaels: “European Uppercut! That is exactly what Magnus Blackwell created.”

Eddie Ellington: “No. Lyric Everfrost created that by deciding to conduct a conversation during a match.”

Johnny Michaels:Magnus deliberately provoked him.”

Eddie Ellington: “Words do not throw uppercuts.”

Johnny Michaels: “No, but they created the opening.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then Grondar did the important part. Excellent teamwork.”

Minute 7

Grondar the Revenant reaches for Lyric Everfrost.

He hooks the body.

Begins lifting for another THE AFTERMATH.

This time Lyric reacts.

He shifts his weight.

Drops behind.

Grondar tries to recapture him.

Lyric shoves the champion forward.

The Jackhammer is completely neutralized.

The crowd cheers.

Johnny Michaels: “Excellent defense! Lyric Everfrost felt The Aftermath coming and completely escaped the Jackhammer.”

Eddie Ellington: “Very good.”

Johnny Michaels: “Very good?”

Eddie Ellington: “Yes. I can appreciate intelligent survival.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is the first time tonight Lyric has stopped one of Grondar’s major finishing attacks.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then perhaps he can have another certificate.”

Minute 8

Lyric Everfrost sees the opening.

He hits the ropes.

Accelerates.

FLYING BODY PRESS!

He launches into Grondar the Revenant and takes the champion off his feet.

The crowd erupts.

Lyric rolls away and immediately gets back up.

Grondar sits upright.

Slower this time.

Johnny Michaels: “Flying Body Press! Lyric Everfrost finally knocks Grondar completely off his feet.”

Eddie Ellington: “He threw his entire body at him.”

Johnny Michaels: “And it worked.”

Eddie Ellington: “For one exchange.”

Johnny Michaels: “The champion is getting up more slowly.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because somebody just landed across his chest. Do not confuse physical reality with vulnerability.”

Minute 9

Both men rise.

Grondar the Revenant catches Lyric Everfrost first.

He lifts him high overhead.

GORILLA PRESS!

Lyric struggles.

Grondar throws him downward.

SPINEBUSTER SLAM!

The impact shakes the ring.

But when Grondar reaches down to continue—

Lyric snakes an arm around the head.

DRAGON SLEEPER!

The crowd rises.

Lyric Everfrost locks the hold in from behind.

Grondar immediately reaches toward the ropes.

Too far.

Lyric pulls backward.

“Honest” Abe drops beside them.

Grondar the Revenant refuses to submit.

He forces one knee underneath himself.

Then another.

Lyric keeps the hold cinched.

Grondar gradually powers upward.

The pressure remains.

Eventually the champion drives backward toward the ropes.

His boot reaches the bottom cable.

“Honest” Abe orders the break.

Lyric releases.

Johnny Michaels: “Dragon Sleeper! After taking that Gorilla Press into the Spinebuster, Lyric Everfrost somehow caught the champion and forced Grondar to fight his way to the ropes.”

Eddie Ellington: “And did Grondar submit?”

Johnny Michaels: “No.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then we have learned something important. The North Pole Champion can be trapped in a submission and remain entirely unreasonable about quitting.”

Johnny Michaels: “That hold absolutely affected him.”

Eddie Ellington: “Affected is not defeated.”

Minute 10

Grondar the Revenant comes forward.

He catches Lyric Everfrost for a Vertical Suplex.

Lyric hooks his leg around the champion’s.

Blocks the lift.

Then turns through.

The Suplex is reversed.

Lyric tries to catch Grondar with another ATOMIC DROP.

The champion recognizes it.

He drives an elbow backward.

Breaks the grip.

The Atomic Drop is neutralized before Lyric can execute it.

Both men separate.

Johnny Michaels: “Excellent exchange from both men. Lyric reversed the Vertical Suplex, but Grondar immediately stopped the Atomic Drop.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's championship awareness.”

Johnny Michaels:Lyric has been forcing the champion to defend more frequently over the last several minutes.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which means Grondar is learning every one of Lyric’s preferred answers.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is one way to interpret it.”

Eddie Ellington: “The correct way.”

Minute 11

The two men collide near center ring.

Grondar the Revenant swings.

CLOTHESLINE!

The strike crashes across Lyric Everfrost’s chest and turns him inside out.

But Lyric rolls through.

Forces himself upright.

He catches Grondar during the follow-up.

ATOMIC DROP!

This time it lands.

Grondar stumbles toward the ropes.

Johnny Michaels: “Clothesline from Grondar, Atomic Drop from Lyric. Every time this begins looking like the champion is about to take complete control, Lyric Everfrost finds another answer.”

Eddie Ellington: “And every answer costs him.”

Johnny Michaels: “He just absorbed a tremendous Clothesline.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. Grondar is making him pay admission before every comeback.”

Johnny Michaels: “But Lyric continues coming back.”

Eddie Ellington: “Persistent. I will give him that.”

Minute 12

Grondar the Revenant charges.

He catches Lyric Everfrost and again presses him overhead.

GORILLA PRESS!

The champion drives him downward.

SPINEBUSTER SLAM!

Lyric crashes hard.

Grondar reaches down.

Once again—

DRAGON SLEEPER!

Lyric Everfrost catches him during the transition.

The crowd rises.

Grondar immediately begins fighting.

Lyric pulls back with everything he has.

“Honest” Abe asks for the submission.

Grondar the Revenant refuses.

His movements become slower.

Lyric adjusts the grip.

For several seconds, the champion is trapped in the center.

Then Grondar powers one leg underneath himself.

He rises.

Step by step.

He backs Lyric toward the ropes.

The referee calls for the break.

Lyric releases.

Johnny Michaels: “Again! A second Dragon Sleeper forces Grondar to expend enormous energy escaping.”

Eddie Ellington: “And again the champion does not quit.”

Johnny Michaels: “But now we have seen the same submission trouble him twice.”

Eddie Ellington: “Trouble him? Yes.”

A pause.

Eddie Ellington: “Defeat him? No.”

Johnny Michaels:Lyric Everfrost may have identified a genuine pathway to victory.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then he'd better hope Grondar suddenly forgets where the ropes are.”

Minute 13

Both men rise slowly.

Grondar the Revenant fires first.

EUROPEAN UPPERCUT!

The strike catches Lyric under the jaw.

He staggers.

But Lyric Everfrost fights through it.

He catches the champion around the body.

BACKBREAKER!

Grondar is driven across the knee.

Both men drop away from one another.

Johnny Michaels: “European Uppercut from Grondar, Backbreaker from Lyric. Now Lyric returns to the back he targeted earlier.”

Eddie Ellington: “That was smart.”

Johnny Michaels: “Another compliment.”

Eddie Ellington: “Do not make this uncomfortable. The Backbreaker makes sense after forcing Grondar to power out of two Dragon Sleepers.”

Johnny Michaels: “Exactly. The champion’s back and neck have both been under sustained stress.”

Eddie Ellington: “And he is still standing.”

Minute 14

Grondar the Revenant gets up first.

He charges.

CLOTHESLINE!

Lyric Everfrost is knocked backward.

But Lyric catches the arm as he falls.

He turns.

Gets underneath Grondar.

VERTICAL SUPLEX!

The North Pole Champion is driven onto his back.

The crowd cheers.

Johnny Michaels: “Another tremendous exchange! Clothesline from Grondar, Vertical Suplex from Lyric.”

Eddie Ellington: “I don't appreciate how often Lyric is lifting the champion.”

Johnny Michaels: “Because it is working?”

Eddie Ellington: “Because it is unnecessarily disrespectful.”

Johnny Michaels: “It is professional wrestling.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. Show respect by losing properly.”

Minute 15

Grondar the Revenant rises.

He grabs Lyric Everfrost.

Again he presses him high.

Lyric immediately begins shifting his weight.

The champion tries to drive him downward into another Gorilla Press Spinebuster.

Lyric slips behind before the transition.

He lands on his feet.

Shoves Grondar forward.

The entire sequence is neutralized.

The crowd responds strongly.

Johnny Michaels:Lyric Everfrost has the Gorilla Press combination scouted now!”

Eddie Ellington: “Unfortunately.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is an important development. Grondar hit that attack twice earlier, but Lyric refused to take it a third time.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which means the champion will change direction.”

Johnny Michaels: “You sound very certain.”

Eddie Ellington: “That's what champions do.”

Minute 16

Lyric Everfrost does not allow Grondar time to reset.

He slips behind.

Hooks the head.

DRAGON SLEEPER!

A third time!

The crowd rises immediately.

This time Grondar the Revenant cannot reach the ropes.

Lyric drops his weight and pulls backward.

The champion tries to turn.

Cannot.

“Honest” Abe kneels beside him.

Grondar refuses to submit.

Lyric tightens the hold.

The crowd begins clapping rhythmically.

Grondar’s movements become slower.

Johnny Michaels: “This is the deepest Dragon Sleeper yet! Grondar is trapped in the center!”

Eddie Ellington: “Get up.”

Johnny Michaels: “The champion cannot simply power immediately to the ropes this time.”

Eddie Ellington: “He will.”

Johnny Michaels:Lyric Everfrost is pulling back with everything he has!”

Eddie Ellington: “And Grondar is not quitting.”

The champion plants one boot.

Then the other.

He begins rising through the pressure.

Lyric tries to keep the hold.

Grondar twists violently.

The grip finally breaks.

Both men stagger apart.

Johnny Michaels: “He survives! But that was unquestionably the closest Lyric Everfrost has come to taking complete control.”

Eddie Ellington: “Survives is the word.”

Minute 17

Lyric Everfrost sees Grondar the Revenant struggling.

He rushes forward.

At ringside, Magnus Blackwell suddenly climbs onto the apron.

Not entering.

Not touching anyone.

He simply raises the cane and begins tapping it against the top turnbuckle.

“Honest” Abe immediately turns.

Johnny Michaels: “Here we go.”

Eddie Ellington: “What?”

Johnny Michaels:Magnus Blackwell is deliberately delaying this match.”

Magnus Blackwell: “Referee!”

He points toward the turnbuckle.

Magnus Blackwell: “The pad is loose.”

“Honest” Abe moves toward him.

Lyric Everfrost turns.

Lyric: “Get down!”

Magnus Blackwell smiles.

Grondar uses the moment to pull himself completely upright.

Johnny Michaels: “That interruption just gave Grondar critical recovery time.”

Eddie Ellington: “Safety inspection.”

Johnny Michaels: “There is nothing wrong with that turnbuckle.”

Eddie Ellington: “Are you certified in ring construction?”

Johnny Michaels:Lyric had the champion reeling after the Dragon Sleeper.”

Eddie Ellington: “Then he should have remained focused instead of arguing with management.”

Minute 18

Magnus Blackwell finally drops from the apron.

Lyric Everfrost turns toward Grondar the Revenant.

The champion tries to catch him.

VERTICAL SUPLEX attempt.

Lyric blocks.

Grondar tries again.

Lyric lowers his center of gravity and twists free.

The Suplex is completely neutralized.

Johnny Michaels: “And despite the delay, Lyric Everfrost is still defending intelligently. He stops the Vertical Suplex.”

Eddie Ellington: “Good defense.”

Johnny Michaels: “You almost sound impressed.”

Eddie Ellington: “I am impressed that he is still coherent after eighteen minutes with Grondar.”

Johnny Michaels: “But the question is whether Magnus Blackwell’s intervention cost Lyric the opportunity he had after the Dragon Sleeper.”

Eddie Ellington: “You call it intervention. I call it responsible ringside observation.”

Minute 19

Both men reengage.

Grondar the Revenant catches Lyric Everfrost.

VERTICAL SUPLEX!

This time Lyric cannot stop it.

He crashes onto his back.

But Lyric rolls through the impact.

He gets underneath Grondar on the next advance.

VERTICAL SUPLEX!

The champion is thrown in return.

Both men hit the canvas.

The crowd applauds.

Johnny Michaels: “Suplex for Suplex! Grondar throws Lyric, and Lyric Everfrost answers immediately with one of his own.”

Eddie Ellington: “You realize Lyric is spending tremendous energy doing that.”

Johnny Michaels: “So is Grondar.”

Eddie Ellington: “The champion is built for this.”

Johnny Michaels: “We are nineteen minutes deep, and Lyric is still matching him.”

Eddie Ellington: “Matching is not beating.”

Minute 20

Grondar the Revenant reaches his feet first.

He grabs Lyric Everfrost before Lyric can establish another counter.

One arm controls the wrist.

The other wraps around the body.

PUMPHANDLE SLAM!

Lyric is driven hard into the canvas.

He rolls toward the ropes.

This time there is no immediate answer.

Grondar stands over him.

Johnny Michaels: “Pumphandle Slam! Grondar finally gets an exchange entirely on his terms.”

Eddie Ellington: “There it is.”

Johnny Michaels:Lyric has no immediate counter.”

Eddie Ellington: “Because twenty minutes against the North Pole Champion eventually catches up with you.”

Johnny Michaels: “The accumulation is beginning to show.”

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly. You can be brave, clever and resilient. Eventually Grondar is still enormous.”

Minute 21

Lyric Everfrost forces himself upright.

Grondar the Revenant catches him again.

PUMPHANDLE SLAM!

Another heavy impact.

But Lyric refuses to remain down.

He gets up as Grondar approaches.

BODyslam!

The crowd cheers as Lyric somehow powers the champion over.

Both men collapse afterward.

Johnny Michaels: “Second Pumphandle Slam, and somehow Lyric Everfrost gets back up and Bodyslams the champion!”

Eddie Ellington: “He is becoming offensively stubborn.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is extraordinary resilience after everything he has absorbed tonight and last week.”

Eddie Ellington: “Last week doesn't earn you anything tonight.”

Johnny Michaels: “No, but it tells us something about the man.”

Eddie Ellington: “Yes. He refuses to learn when lying down would be healthier.”

Minute 22

Both men struggle to their feet.

Lyric Everfrost gets there first.

He catches Grondar the Revenant.

VERTICAL SUPLEX!

The North Pole Champion crashes down.

The crowd erupts.

Lyric rises.

He takes one step toward Grondar.

The champion suddenly rolls through.

Gets to one knee.

Then explodes forward.

SPEAR!

Grondar the Revenant drives directly through Lyric Everfrost.

The impact folds Lyric in half.

The crowd reacts sharply.

Grondar immediately hooks the leg.

“Honest” Abe slides into position.

One!

Eddie Ellington: “That's it.”

Two!

Three!

The bell rings.

Eddie Ellington: “Exactly!”

Johnny Michaels: “What a finish! Lyric Everfrost hit the Vertical Suplex and thought he had created another opening, but Grondar exploded through him with the Spear!”

Eddie Ellington: “That's why he's the champion.”

Johnny Michaels: “Twenty-two hard-fought minutes, and Lyric Everfrost pushed the North Pole Champion considerably harder than you predicted.”

Eddie Ellington: “And who won?”

Johnny Michaels:Grondar the Revenant.”

Eddie Ellington: “Thank you. I remain undefeated in analysis.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is not a real statistic.”

Eddie Ellington: “It is in my records.”

Celeste Orion raises the microphone.

Celeste Orion: “Ladies and gentlemen, your winner by pinfall... the NORTH POLE CHAMPION... GRONDAR THE REVENANT!”

The crowd boos.

Magnus Blackwell retrieves the North Pole Championship.

He climbs onto the apron.

Steps through the ropes.

Grondar the Revenant rises.

“Honest” Abe raises his arm.

Magnus Blackwell places the championship back over Grondar’s shoulder.

Eddie Ellington: “There. Correct visual restored.”

Johnny Michaels: “Give Lyric Everfrost credit. He neutralized The Aftermath once. He stopped the Gorilla Press Spinebuster later in the match. He trapped Grondar in the Dragon Sleeper three separate times.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Grondar submitted exactly zero times.”

Johnny Michaels: “He was in genuine danger during the third Dragon Sleeper.”

Eddie Ellington: “And then Magnus Blackwell wisely identified a turnbuckle concern.”

Johnny Michaels: “Stop.”

Eddie Ellington: “What?”

Johnny Michaels: “You know exactly what happened.”

Eddie Ellington: “A respected manager noticed a possible equipment defect.”

Johnny Michaels: “He climbed onto the apron precisely when Lyric had the champion reeling.”

Eddie Ellington: “Excellent timing.”

Johnny Michaels: “That is the problem.”

Eddie Ellington: “That is management.”

Inside the ring, Lyric Everfrost rolls onto one side.

He is breathing heavily.

Grondar the Revenant looks down at him.

The champion does not attack.

He simply stands there with the North Pole Championship over his shoulder.

Magnus Blackwell moves beside him.

The manager looks toward Lyric.

Then gives a slow, sarcastic little applause.

The crowd boos.

Johnny Michaels: “There is no need for that.”

Eddie Ellington: “He's acknowledging the effort.”

Johnny Michaels: “He is mocking him.”

Eddie Ellington: “Tone is subjective.”

Lyric Everfrost looks up.

His expression hardens.

He pulls himself to one knee.

Grondar and Magnus Blackwell remain standing above him.

Johnny Michaels: “For Lyric Everfrost, this is now two extremely demanding twenty-two-minute matches in consecutive weeks. First The Master of the Night, tonight the North Pole Champion.”

Eddie Ellington: “And two defeats.”

Johnny Michaels: “Yes. But tonight he proved he could repeatedly put one of NPCW's most dominant champions into serious difficulty.”

Eddie Ellington: “Wonderful consolation prize.”

Johnny Michaels: “And for Grondar, another victory. Non-title or not, the North Pole Champion continues winning.”

Eddie Ellington: “That is why the belt stays where it belongs.”

Magnus Blackwell gestures toward the ropes.

Grondar the Revenant steps through.

The North Pole Championship remains over his shoulder.

The pair begins walking toward the entrance.

Neither looks back.

Inside the ring, Lyric Everfrost finally gets to his feet.

The crowd gives him a strong ovation.

He rests against the ropes.

Disappointed.

Exhausted.

But standing.

Johnny Michaels:Lyric Everfrost made the champion work for every one of those twenty-two minutes.”

Eddie Ellington: “And Grondar still leaves with the victory and the championship.”

Johnny Michaels: “The title was never at stake.”

Eddie Ellington: “Which is why this was an extremely efficient evening for him.”

The camera follows Grondar the Revenant and Magnus Blackwell toward the curtain.

Johnny Michaels: “The North Pole Champion survives a determined challenge from Lyric Everfrost.”

Eddie Ellington: “Survives?”

A pause.

Eddie Ellington: “Champions don't survive, Johnny.”

He watches Grondar disappear through the curtain.

Eddie Ellington: “They endure.”

GRONDAR THE REVENANT DEFEATS LYRIC EVERFROST VIA PINFALL WITH A SPEAR AT THE 22:00 MINUTE MARK.
