At ringside, Johnny “The Mic” Michaels looks toward the entrance stage.
Beside him, Eddie Ellington is already smiling.
Johnny Michaels: “Our fifth match tonight is another non-title contest involving a reigning champion, but there is a very important story behind this one. Aurora Champion Valka faces Hard Candy, accompanied by Sour Candy.”
Eddie Ellington: “And I would like everyone to remember what happened last week.”
Johnny Michaels: “I was about to.”
Eddie Ellington: “You were taking too long. Cotton Candy defeated Valka in a non-title match.”
Johnny Michaels: “She did.”
Eddie Ellington: “Which means the Candy family has already established the formula.”
Johnny Michaels: “One victory by Cotton Candy does not automatically mean her sister can reproduce it.”
Eddie Ellington: “Of course it does not automatically mean it.”
A pause.
Eddie Ellington: “That is why Hard Candy is going to prove it.”
The arena lighting turns bright pink and electric white.
A sharp, swaggering beat begins.
The crowd responds with immediate boos.
Sour Candy steps through the curtain first.
She looks around the arena with open contempt.
Then turns.
Hard Candy emerges behind her.
The boos intensify.
Hard Candy stops at the top of the ramp and rolls one shoulder.
Then the other.
A grin spreads across her face.
Sour Candy points toward the ring and says something quietly.
Hard Candy nods.
Johnny Michaels: “There is Hard Candy, and unlike her sister, there is very little sweetness to anything she does.”
Eddie Ellington: “That's why she's my favorite Candy.”
Johnny Michaels: “You have a favorite?”
Eddie Ellington: “Tonight, absolutely.”
Johnny Michaels: “Hard Candy brings considerable physical strength, excellent suplex offense, and that Kay-Gato-Jime Gogoplata can end a match very quickly.”

At ringside, Hard Candy climbs onto the apron.
She steps through the ropes.
Moves to the center.
Then turns toward the entrance and gestures around her waist.
The message is obvious.
Her music fades.
The lighting changes.
Deep blue-white illumination spreads across the entrance stage.
A heavy Norse-inspired rhythm begins.
The crowd rises.
Then Valka steps through the curtain.
The Aurora Championship is fastened around her waist.
She stops beneath the lights.
Looks toward Hard Candy.
Then toward Sour Candy.
No smile.
No reaction to the taunting.
She simply unfastens the championship and raises it overhead.
The crowd responds strongly.
Johnny Michaels: “And there is the Aurora Champion. Valka comes into tonight with something to prove after last week's non-title defeat to Cotton Candy.”
Eddie Ellington: “Something to prove?”
Johnny Michaels: “Absolutely.”
Eddie Ellington: “I would say something to worry about. One sister already beat her. Now here comes the other.”
Johnny Michaels: “Valka has built her championship reign around raw strength, explosive athleticism and the ability to survive difficult physical matches.”
Eddie Ellington: “And last week she survived right up until the moment she lost.”
Johnny Michaels: “You are going to repeat that all night.”
Eddie Ellington: “Only if the facts remain useful.”
Valka starts down the aisle.
She keeps the Aurora Championship over one shoulder.
The crowd reaches toward her along both sides of the barricade.
She gives one small nod but remains focused on the ring.
As she reaches ringside, Sour Candy steps into her path.
Not directly.
Just enough to make the champion stop.
Sour Candy smiles.
Valka stares at her.
Then looks toward Hard Candy inside the ring.
Sour Candy slowly steps aside.

Eddie Ellington: “Same family.”
Valka climbs the steps.
She enters through the ropes.
Hard Candy immediately moves toward her.
“Honest” Abe steps between them.
Valka removes the Aurora Championship.
She raises it once.
Then hands it through the ropes to the ringside attendant.
Johnny Michaels: “Again, the championship is not on the line tonight.”
Eddie Ellington: “Which is fortunate for Valka. She may lose to two sisters in consecutive weeks without losing the belt.”
Johnny Michaels: “You are already assuming the result.”
Eddie Ellington: “I am recognizing a family trend.”
Celeste Orion enters with microphone in hand.

The crowd cheers.
Celeste Orion: “Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by SOUR CANDY... HARD CANDY!”
The boos become louder.
Hard Candy raises both arms.
At ringside, Sour Candy applauds enthusiastically.
Celeste Orion turns toward the opposite corner.
Celeste Orion: “And her opponent... she is the reigning AURORA CHAMPION... VALKA!”
The crowd roars.
Valka raises one fist.
Eddie Ellington: “Enjoy hearing champion while it lasts.”
Johnny Michaels: “The title is not at stake.”
Eddie Ellington: “I know. I simply enjoy creating tension.”
Celeste Orion exits.
“Honest” Abe gives both women their final instructions.
Then turns toward Sour Candy.
The referee points firmly toward the floor and warns her not to become involved.
Sour Candy gives him an exaggerated smile.
Eddie Ellington: “Look at that cooperation.”
Johnny Michaels: “We will see how long it lasts.”
The referee signals.
The bell rings.

Valka moves immediately.
She gets inside Hard Candy’s reach.
Hooks around the body.

Hard Candy tries to widen her base and block the lift.
She cannot.
The challenger in this non-title match crashes hard.
Valka rises over her.

She enters and immediately checks on Hard Candy.
Then looks toward Valka.
The champion lowers the title.
The two women stare at one another.
Johnny Michaels: “And that is an important rebound for Valka. Last week, Cotton Candy defeated her in a non-title match. Tonight, she prevents the Candy family from making it two consecutive victories over the Aurora Champion.”

Smooth Samantha: “I am joined now by Magnus Blackwell and the reigning North Pole Champion, Grondar the Revenant.”
Magnus Blackwell smiles immediately.
Magnus Blackwell: “An introduction that should become increasingly familiar.”
Smooth Samantha: “Earlier tonight, Grondar defeated Lyric Everfrost in a highly competitive non-title match.”
The smile on Magnus Blackwell’s face becomes slightly amused.
Magnus Blackwell: “Highly competitive.”
A pause.
Magnus Blackwell: “Such charitable language.”
Smooth Samantha: “Lyric Everfrost trapped your champion in the Dragon Sleeper three separate times.”
Magnus Blackwell: “And how many times did Grondar submit?”
Smooth Samantha: “None.”
Magnus Blackwell: “Precisely.”
He gestures toward the champion.
Magnus Blackwell: “That is what people continue misunderstanding.”
A pause.
Magnus Blackwell: “They see an opening.”
Another.
Magnus Blackwell: “They see Grondar on one knee.”
Another.
Magnus Blackwell: “They hear the audience begin screaming.”
His smile disappears.
Magnus Blackwell: “And they convince themselves that they have finally discovered the answer.”
He slowly shakes his head.
Magnus Blackwell: “There is no answer.”
Behind him, Grondar the Revenant remains motionless.
Magnus Blackwell: “At Fallout, four men entered the North Pole Championship match.”
A pause.
Magnus Blackwell: “Three left without the championship.”
He taps one finger against the faceplate resting on Grondar’s shoulder.
Magnus Blackwell: “Tonight, Lyric Everfrost received twenty-two minutes to discover what those men already learned.”
Another pause.
Magnus Blackwell: “Grondar the Revenant is not merely North Pole Champion.”
His voice becomes firmer.
Magnus Blackwell: “He is the most dominant force in NPCW.”
Smooth Samantha immediately raises an eyebrow.
Smooth Samantha: “That's strong language.”
Magnus Blackwell: “Accurate language.”
Smooth Samantha: “It's also very similar to what we have been hearing from other men lately.”
The smile on Magnus Blackwell’s face fades slightly.
Smooth Samantha: “Earlier tonight, The Master of the Night spoke about the House of Night eventually standing over NPCW.”
A pause.
Smooth Samantha: “And after Tuesday, Infernus Rex has considerable reason to make a similar argument after defeating Santa Claus.”
Magnus Blackwell gives a quiet laugh.
Magnus Blackwell: “Please.”
Smooth Samantha: “You disagree.”
Magnus Blackwell: “Entirely.”
He turns slightly toward the camera.
Magnus Blackwell: “Infernus Rex defeats Santa Claus once and suddenly we are expected to bow before the inferno.”
A dismissive wave of the hand.
Magnus Blackwell: “The Master of the Night gives speeches in dark rooms and apparently that makes him the inevitable future of the company.”
His expression sharpens.
Magnus Blackwell: “Do you know the difference between those men and Grondar?”
Smooth Samantha: “The North Pole Championship.”
Magnus Blackwell: “Evidence.”
A pause.
He taps the championship again.
Magnus Blackwell: “This is evidence.”
Another.
Magnus Blackwell: “Victories are evidence.”
Another.
Magnus Blackwell: “Walking into every challenge and walking back out as champion…”
A faint smile returns.
Magnus Blackwell: “…is evidence.”
Smooth Samantha: “Infernus Rex would probably point toward Tuesday night as evidence.”
Magnus Blackwell: “Then let him.”
A pause.
Magnus Blackwell: “And The Master of the Night may continue whispering about symbols, houses, lessons and whatever other theatrical language makes him feel important.”
His eyes narrow.
Magnus Blackwell: “None of that changes who carries this championship.”
Smooth Samantha looks toward Grondar.
Smooth Samantha: “Does the champion agree?”
She extends the microphone slightly toward him.
Grondar the Revenant does not even look at it.
Silence.
Magnus Blackwell smiles.
Magnus Blackwell: “He answered you earlier.”
Smooth Samantha: “With the victory.”
Magnus Blackwell: “You're learning.”
A familiar voice interrupts from off camera.
Rudolph: “Then maybe he can answer me.”
The crowd inside North Pole Arena erupts.
Magnus Blackwell’s smile disappears.
The camera pulls wider.
Rudolph walks into the interview area.
No entrance music.
No theatrical arrival.
He is dressed in his wrestling gear beneath an open warm-up jacket.
There is a seriousness in his expression that immediately changes the tone of the interview.
Grondar the Revenant turns his head.
For the first time since the segment began, the champion reacts.
His eyes settle directly on Rudolph.
Smooth Samantha: “Rudolph.”
Rudolph: “Sorry to interrupt.”
He looks toward Magnus Blackwell.
Rudolph: “Actually…”
A pause.
Rudolph: “…not really.”
The crowd reacts.

His attention shifts to Grondar.

He takes another step into the set.
Rudolph: “I want Grondar.”
The arena reacts loudly.
Magnus Blackwell looks almost amused again.
Rudolph: “Not a tag match.”
A pause.
Rudolph: “Not a four-way.”
Another.
Rudolph: “Not a match where somebody else can take the fall.”
He looks directly at the champion.
Rudolph: “One-on-one.”
A pause.
Rudolph: “Me and Grondar.”
Another.
Rudolph: “For the North Pole Championship.”
Smooth Samantha: “You're formally challenging the champion.”
Rudolph: “That's exactly what I'm doing.”
He steps closer.
Rudolph: “I have been in this division long enough to know exactly what Grondar is.”
A pause.

Rudolph: “He's dangerous.”

Rudolph: “And he deserves the championship he carries.”
That seems to catch Magnus Blackwell slightly off guard.

The crowd cheers.

Magnus Blackwell slowly begins laughing.
Not loudly.
Almost sympathetically.
Rudolph looks toward him.

A pause.

Rudolph’s expression hardens.
Magnus Blackwell: “Truly.”
He turns toward Smooth Samantha.
Magnus Blackwell: “You see what nostalgia does to people?”

Magnus Blackwell: “They remember what someone was.”
A pause.
Magnus Blackwell: “They remember the victories.”

He slowly looks Rudolph up and down.

The crowd begins booing.

The reaction becomes considerably louder.
Rudolph takes one step forward.
Grondar the Revenant immediately moves.
Not attacking.
Just stepping between Rudolph and Magnus Blackwell.
That movement alone stops Rudolph.
The two men are suddenly face-to-face.
Magnus Blackwell continues speaking from behind his champion.
Magnus Blackwell: “Look at you.”
A pause.
Magnus Blackwell: “Still charging toward the next mountain because you cannot accept that the mountain has grown taller than you.”
Rudolph never takes his eyes from Grondar.
Rudolph: “You done?”
Magnus Blackwell: “Not remotely.”
Rudolph: “Good.”
A pause.
Rudolph: “Because I wasn't talking to you.”
The crowd erupts.
Magnus Blackwell’s expression freezes.
Rudolph looks directly into Grondar’s eyes.
Rudolph: “I'm talking to him.”
Grondar says nothing.
Rudolph: “You don't need to answer.”
A pause.
Rudolph: “You don't talk.”
Another.
Rudolph: “Fine.”
He points toward the championship.
Rudolph: “Put that on the line.”
His hand lowers.
Rudolph: “Then answer me in the ring.”
Grondar the Revenant remains silent.
But he takes one deliberate step closer.

The crowd boos.

Rudolph finally looks toward him.

Another voice enters.

The crowd erupts again.
Elias Coldmere walks into the interview area with a folder tucked beneath one arm.
The Interim Polar Commissioner stops beside Smooth Samantha.
His expression is calm.
Magnus Blackwell looks immediately irritated.
Magnus Blackwell: “Commissioner.”
Elias Coldmere: “Magnus.”
A pause.
Magnus Blackwell: “I assume you're here because wandering into championship conversations has become fashionable.”
Elias Coldmere: “I'm here because this isn't your decision.”
That draws a strong reaction from the crowd.

Everyone turns toward him.
Rudolph is still staring at Grondar.

His eyes remain locked on the champion.

He slowly removes the North Pole Championship from his shoulder.
The crowd begins reacting.
Magnus Blackwell watches carefully.

Grondar raises the championship between himself and Rudolph.
Not overhead.
Not toward the camera.
Directly between them.
A silent answer.
Rudolph looks at the title.
Then at Grondar.
He nods once.
Rudolph: “That's all I needed.”
The crowd roars.
Grondar lowers the championship.
Returns it to his shoulder.

He looks from one man to the other.

Rudolph begins backing away.
He never turns his back on the champion.
Magnus Blackwell watches him leave.
His expression is considerably less amused now.
Rudolph finally disappears down the corridor.
The camera returns to Magnus Blackwell.
Smooth Samantha: “You called Rudolph a wounded has-been.”
A pause.
Smooth Samantha: “In two weeks, he gets the opportunity to prove you wrong.”
Magnus Blackwell looks at her.
Then toward Elias Coldmere.
Finally toward the camera.
The smile returns.
Magnus Blackwell: “No.”
A pause.
He places one hand against the North Pole Championship.
Magnus Blackwell: “In two weeks…”

Magnus Blackwell: “…Grondar gets the opportunity to prove me right.”
Beside him, Grondar the Revenant stares toward the corridor where Rudolph disappeared.
The North Pole Championship remains over his shoulder.

The broadcast cuts away.
The broadcast returns live to North Pole Arena.
The crowd is already loud.
Inside the ring, “Honest” Abe checks both corners and exchanges a final word with the timekeeper.
At ringside, Johnny “The Mic” Michaels turns toward the entrance stage.
Beside him, Eddie Ellington leans back with a satisfied expression.
Johnny Michaels: “It is time for our main event, and the Demonic Civil War continues.”

He stops at the top of the ramp.

Beckons her closer.
The crowd boos.

Count Vlad laughs softly.
Johnny Michaels: “Count Vlad has completely disrupted Mari Lwyd’s concentration.”

The strike crashes into Mari Lwyd and knocks her backward.
At ringside, Grinch Heyman immediately begins shouting.

Mari looks toward him.
Grinch Heyman points rapidly toward the Infernal corner.
Johnny Michaels: “Grinch Heyman is trying to give Mari a route out of this.”
Eddie Ellington: “Too late.”

Eddie Ellington: “So does Count Vlad.”
Wilber catches Mari before she can implement the plan.

Across the ring, Krampus moves toward Mari Lwyd.
Grinch Heyman climbs onto the apron and immediately starts shouting instructions.
Grinch Heyman: “Leave them! Check Mari!”
Krampus pauses.
His eyes remain locked on Abaddon.
Abaddon stares back.
Neither moves.
Johnny Michaels: “Look at Krampus and Abaddon.”
Eddie Ellington: “Yes.”
A pause.

Krampus finally kneels beside Mari Lwyd.
She begins pushing herself upright.
Across from them, Count Vlad raises one hand.

Abaddon stands on the other.
Count Vlad looks toward Grinch Heyman.
A slow smile.
Grinch Heyman stares back.

Eddie Ellington: “He said he wants to destroy the symbol.”
Johnny Michaels: “And when he brought Edie Mason back into the conversation, Mr. Mason made certain there was no misunderstanding. Their conflict is not over.”
